I have used this only on enamel paints (referred to on the packaging as ‘email’) so cannot comment on how successful it is with water-based (‘aqua’) paints. On a plastic kit liberally daubed with excessive layers of Humbrol enamel paint (and with more youthful enthusiasm than skill) about 40 years ago, the product worked superbly.Don’t expect immediate results, however; the first coating looked as if it would have no effect at all, but persistence paid off and after several applications it got down to bare plastic. In some places a slight ‘tint’ of the paint colour remained, but if you are planning to re-paint the kit, this doesn’t matter. After leaving the fluid to act for about 3 minutes,I used cotton-wool buds to remove loosened paint between applications as these are strong enough to take the paint off but not abrasive enough to damage the surface of the plastic. A stiff paintbrush or soft toothbrush may also work if care is exercised. Another hint – decant some of the fluid into a small container for use rather than keep dipping the paint brush into the bottle; this prevents the fluid in the original bottle becoming contaminated.NOTE: The label warns that the fluid may cause drowsiness or dizziness but (surprisingly in these days of health and safety) does not make the obvious common-sense recommendation of using it in a well-ventilated place to counter this. It does warn to keep it away from children but, clearly, it needs to be kept away from pets too.Overall, my experience of this paint remover is very positive and I would therefore recommend it.

Just in case anyone's arrived via the same arcane research process that brought me here - yes, this is the stuff that removes printed (rather than silkscreened - white spirit will shift those) logos from drumheads without damaging the head itself! If your bass drum has 'CRAPPYDRUMS' plastered in big ugly letters over the front head, this will remove the evidence! Just apply with a wodge of cotton wool and wipe firmly. Why do budget drum brands have such ugly logos anyway? Is there some industry rule that says so? Anyway, sorry to interrupt, modellers!
