As another reviewer has pointed out the main body of this model is made up of both traditional styrene moulds and white plastic card which you fold into tubes (I knew this before purchase so it wasn't an unwelcome surprise). The benefit is there are no seam lines to deal with as the point where the fold meets is covered by another kit part. The styrene rocket stage joining sections are also moulded as one piece and not traditionally two haves which are glued together (with obvious seam lines) as in the 1/144 scale version. This saves a lot of sanding and filling work. The final model itself is more robust than the white card might suggest and I recommend you not be put off by this.A couple of things to note: although it has the word 'New'stamped on the box this model is a reissue of the 1969 kit and the original inaccuracies haven't been corrected. However unless you are an Apollo fanatic like myself you probably wouldn't spot the few errors in detail. The white tubular card parts also come with some decals already printed on so if you want to do a full paint job from scratch you will need to buy a separate decal sheet such as the one provided by NewWare.I managed to grab this model when it was temporarily lowered to £49.95 and at that price it's a bargain. I'd say that if you can find it for around £60 it's well worth the money. The only other alternative large scale Saturn V is the more expensive 1/72 Dragon kit which also comes with a few inaccuracies.

A brilliant model of an iconic piece of engineering. Building the model out of the box will not however give you a model of Apollo 11. It is based on the SA500f Facilities Test Unit that was built in 1965/1966 to test all of the ground systems and did not have anything inside it. It was just an empty shell. (Testament to this is the horizontal black band above the “USA” markings on the first stage that didn’t appear on flight vehicles). Having said that you’ve got to be a real rocket geek to know that, and will still build into something impressive to display. The person who who said that parts of the model are made of cardboard was very much mistaken. The main fuselage are made by rolling pre printed plastic sheet into tubes. No cardboard involved. Instructions are also given in the instructions to make the box it comes in into a rather handy carry case, which is great for transporting to shows. Fun fact- NASA actually used this model at the Marshall Test Centre in the late 1960s as a reference piece, even though it was inaccurate, with the original one being sold at Bonhams in 2006 for £21000!

As has been noted, this is a re-issue of the 1969 kit which I built in the early 70s.The first thing I would say is beware: the built model is quite unstable and will topple easily, with disastrous results. This is made worse if you, as intended, don't glue the stages together. If you are displaying it then make sure that it can't fall. I don't know whether it would be practical to weight the inside of the first stage as a precaution. As has also been noted there are some technical inaccuracies. The CSM is a Block I (the antennas are on the command module not the service module and the umbilical is under the hatch instead of round the back) as used on Apollos 4 and 6.The black and white paint scheme is that used on the non-flight SA-500F which was used for ground testing; the flight versions had a different one.But at the age of 12 I had many happy hours building it and many fond memories of it,

Tremendous kit. One of many I have recently built. Be prepared for the larger sections to be of plastic sheeting, but nevertheless looks great. Thoroughly enjoyed making this - took 5 days at about 1.5 hours per day. Pay attention to the detail as you go along, pre paint the fiddly parts and you will be rewarded with a very impressive model. The later Revell kits are superb.

We couldn't believe our luck when we found this at just £50! So we purchased it, being a 50th Anniversary release it is well worth keeping in pristine condition. Sadly it arrived with address labels all over the box - unwrapped, so we had to send it back, second time round it arrived in a box in perfect condition. A wonderful addition to our space collection.

This model is excellent, but you have to be prepared to plan your own building sequence rather than follow the instructions. Some parts need adjusting, particularly the tubular sections of the rocket body, but such adjustment is easily done. A true challenge, but a spectacular end product.

Challenging model build high skill level but enjoyable. Some parts did not fit precisely and needed some 'tweaking' to get right but not a problem as I am experienced model builder. Also you need to be skilled in painting details. Model not finished yet as weekend hobby.

Excelente producto, la empresa Revell hizo un modelo similar en 1969 y ahora pude comprarlo, a los 50 años de esa época, un gran orgullo tenerlo

A really complex model albeit les than 200 parts - they're a challenge to put together! It builds a great reminder of the past.

The kit is a bit dated and has the wrong CSM, there are a few minor gaps in the joins but not to bad.
