This game is slightly different to the normal series. I have played them all and this one is still great in its own way and is the start of Raid Modes. This game will improve your entire Resident Evil playing and I will explain why.STORY: Somewhere else in the world away from Racoon city, a colony in the middle of the ocean intended to be paradise is being built. A device that is able to transmit solar energy and power buildings, cars etc is used in orbit to create a form of Utopia. It is interrupted by a terrorist organisation who go on to unleash the T-Virus (kind of like having a storm of Hunters from the first game) to reak havoc on the city. In the same style as Gears of War having to use the Hammer of Dawn on their own city, they do to wipe out the monsters but end up wiping out their own city instead. The Virus tries to be leaked out on a large freighter vessel but something goes wrong along the way and the Virus leaks out..... Jill Valentine and a random guy are dispatched as well as Chris Redfield.... and someone calls Jessica who for some reason thinks that a bare one leg Japanese Manga anime style outfit is appropriate for missions like this.Revelations come in the form of realising why certain events happened and running into other characters who are on the ship who will give more of the story away. The game is divided into chapters and every time you finish to save, it gives you a "Previously on RE Revelations". Some will find this annoying, others will find a sense of relief of having a definitive save point where they can walk away and not play anymore that night or do something else. Depends on how much RE you can take in one hit.GAMPLAY: This was intended for the DS but there is no issues with it being on any other platform. The game is still frightening and the atmosphere of a cruise ship / freighter / secret lab hiding ship is still a scary one until you get to know the layout well.Weapons are quite fun to use although they feel a tad arcade at times compared to some of the more modern games with the sounds and reloading etc. I am kind of comparing to the resident evil 2 remake which is a little unfair as that is too realistic etc. The atmosphere inside the ship is creepy sure. It does feel uncomfortable to even be there and the lack of anybody in corridors and corners make it quite suspenseful. The variant of the T-Virus turns creatures into smooth aquatic / humanoid zombie creatures as well as some strange G mutant variant with chainsaw types. They do have red parts on them that are weaker to shoot than other parts and it may make them fall over or expose weaknesses. The body parts are red and at first it isn't so obvious to see this.RAID MODE: The game creates a game mode that is kind of like Time Crisis from the old days and going through the game in short sections almost like a horde game but with objectives. For example, in raid mode, the first Stage is for the first sections of the game when you arrive on the boat until you hit the cafeteria. There are gun cases you can finds, attachments, a random puffer fish that must be killed somewhere for a bonus and you receive a score based on how fast you were or how much damage you took. After this there is a Raid mode store to buy better weapons, upgrade your ammo carrying capacity or armor making the next stages easier. Through this mode is why RE Revelations is so valuable. You learn what damage difference the front of the head does and why Hunter's weak spots are their tiny faces and why damage to red patches on legs differs and the difference. RAID MODE WILL MAKE YOU A BETTER RESIDENT EVIL PLAYER FOR ALL GAMES. You will spend more time around larger amounts of monsters and movement patterns and what guns work better with which enemies.I would play the game in this format:1. COMPLETE ON NORMAL DIFFICULTY2. PLAY RAID MODE UP TO COMPLETE ALL STAGES ON CHASM (1st difficulty) and TRENCH (2nd difficulty) where you will get up to level 30-35 or so.3. COMPLETE GAME ON INFERNAL DIFFICULTY (because at this point you will know all the enemies well4. GO BACK TO COMPLETE RAID MODE RESTThe Lightning hawk from RE2 is here as are some random special edition 1000 inch barrel revolver that is ridiculous in length and a golden AK 47.The dialogue in the game is ... well... Resident Evil Dialogue but not so bad as historically through the old RE2 and RE0/1/4This is more on parr for Resident Evil 6 style without too much arcade game feel (i say arcade because RE6 just feel too much like it.The achievements on this are all split into 10G which are annoying as you can complete so far through the game and only 30% of things are actually done. Most of them are in Raid Mode and are based on completions of difficulties and game completion.

I picked this up after hearing that it was far better than Resident Evil 6, I wanted to see if these claims were true. I was pleasently surprised to see that they were true, this game feels much more like a Resident Evil game than 6 did, closer combat, smaller areas to explore a lot less action orientated. Not much i can really go into apart from that as this is much like RE4 and 5 with some minor gameplay tweaks. The story is interesting (although it feels a bit too japanese compared to the other games recently), not fantastic and very predictable in places but still fairly satisfying.I've heard many people say that the PC port isn't very good but from what I've played of it's pretty good, there are some stuttering issues which don't seem to be PC specific as I've heard the PS3 and Xbox 360 versions also have that problem. Mechanically it's fine with some mouse sensitivity issues here and there. The most common complaint I've heard from people however is that the graphics are very poor for a PC game. Even on console they're very poor, this is understandable as it was a port from the 3DS but I have to admit I was a little disappointed that they hadn't tried to vastly improve the texture quality and model detail (no doubt someone will figure out a way of modding the graphics eventually). All in all, a good game with some issues here and there graphically and mechanically, but for the most part it works and is a surprisingly good port in my opinion. Definatily worth a look, especially with the low Amazon price for it.

When I got this I didn't expect to experience what I did after playing it.I can't say much more than the previous reviewers as they've got it nailed. However, since I was pleasantly surprised, I figured to add my thoughts too.Whats good:The game is solid, well paced, great acting and great presentation. From the get go I felt this was a solid product. The user interface is simple to understand and intuitive, there are a varied amount of enemies enough to satisfy with great animation from both NPC's and player characters. The game is not short; expect a few good solid hours of game play. The weapons handle well, feeling strong and creating a good impact/effect.There's a weapon customization system implemented which was nice as the upgrades were useful and enjoyable to attain. At first I was infuriated with the mouse-acceleration that was implemented but an update gave an extra option for disabling this which came as a huge relief. The flaws:Graphics are a little low quality and map detail can be a bit minimal. The characters move slow and the dodging mechanics were virtually useless to me, also the levels feel a little repetative at times.Verdict:Overall, I loved this game and I will play it from the start again as it has plenty of replay value without a doubt.I hope this review was informative :)Good gaming!

I loved it but i am drawn to such stories with a passion, i want more sci fi and do not care how expensive thay are to produce.I loved the HUD the graphics engine, the story, the player comman and control console.I wish there was more story though but what could they do next but a QT twist with aliens...........If you like shooting, if you like a bit of a story this is for you. there are even a few things to do as you are going along, though if you are a fan of resident evil (rermeber the first one), not enough things to do like the old resident evil titles that just wont work on my system anymore. The sound quality is sonething else and on surround does make you move.Guns guns guns..........Thankfully for killin zombies. there is plenty to choose from.If you liked Resident evil 6 this you will like.

It's a resident evil game. If you've played Resident Evil 4 then this will feel a lot like it. Harder difficulties add to enemy health so you'll mostly avoid enemies rather than have ammo to take everything down.Actually I don't know what they wanted to achieve with this game. Once you're done with the story it's pretty much over. In comparison I still go back to play Resident Evil 1, two and Nemesis just to mess around with how I could improve in certain areas or dodge a difficult enemy to get to a key or other item quicker, but here the action is forgettable because enemies feel overpowered health wise on hard so there's little to make you come back and play again.I give it 5 because it wasfun on first playthrough.

As usual item arrived all in good time and in the correct condition. The game itself like all resident evil games is an absolute blast of pure terrifying drama. I’ve been a resident evil fan since the start and they never fail to disappoint. This carries the story on to create a bigger world and to understand how far the outbreak went. Decent game.

I really enjoyed this game, I'm not much of a gamer but even I could quickly get to grips with the controls, love the graphics and story, played for hours, lots of puzzles and if you play remember to go back to the gross swimming pool!! would definitely recommend, worth the money, go for it!!

Excellent underrated game. When completed the secondary raid mode adds a lot of replay value. I have been playing it for months. Old fashioned game play against the divisive 7. Reassuringly old school. Get off a sinking ship, simple plot, excellent game.

Although I had to take a rest from this game to play my beloved Tomb Raider, I can't wait to get back on it. It's like old Res with better graphics and controls. Still gives a few frights here and there. Highly recommended for all Res fans.

Amazing story, very addictive mini game raid mode as extra content after completing the story. This remaster is really worth the money, one of the best Resident Evil game!! Highly recommend.

I like this game, even tho you can run past most enemy's with ease using the dodging skills it's more fun to just shoot them, typical Res game however not as scary as the earlier games.

Another brilliant RE game, got this recently, even though it's an old game it's still really playable. Just like all the RE games that have gone into the xbox one.

I enjoyed the Resident Evil games of the past and this one is a slightly different approach to the series. Still puzzle solving required though
