Real Techniques Eye Shade and Blend Brush SetI have a collection of high quality make-up brushes (mostly MAC) and was pleased to try this budget range. The two main things to look for in a make-up brush are the quality of the bristles (which should be synthetic to ensure no cruelty is involved) and the quality of their attachment to the handle (so they don't become loose or shed bristles); these brushes appear to be good quality in both respects. Together, these brushes make a nice pair - one larger brush for applying the base shade across they eyelid and a smaller more tapered brush for applying a darker shade in the crease. The design is quirky, with a cold metal lilac-coloured shaft with a plastic tip that almost feels rubberised (but is not). That presumably means you're supposed to grip the brush by the end, but I hold the brushes further down, like a pencil, so my fingers are gripping the cold metal, which feels a bit odd. I'm not keen on this aspect of the design.=== THINGS I LIKE ABOUT THIS PRODUCT ===* Made from synthetic fibres, so are guaranteed cruelty-free; there is no need to buy animal hair brushes (which may well involve cruelty) because synthetic ones are just as good and in fact easier to keep clean* Shorter length handle, which means they'll fit in your make-up case if you need to carry them around* Quirky, attracive design in striking black and lilac* The bristles feel lovely and soft on the face and pick up powder eyeshadow well (I don't have any cream eyeshadown to test them on)* Light in weight, so are easy to handle=== NIGGLES ===* I'm not that keen on the meta handle, which is slippery and feels cold to the touch* I'm not sure how much shedding there will be from the bristles because, on the crease brush, there isn't much of a pinch on the ferrule and, on the wider brush, there's no visible pinch at all. It's the pinch on the ferrule that helps hold the bristles in place firmly and without this bristles could come loose.* The branding is almost invisible, with a barely imperceptible brand logo on the handles. Therefore, if you love these brushes and decide some time down the line, you may not be able to remember who made them!* The brushes are quite short=== PACKAGING & PRICE ===The brushes came packed in a sturdy plastic box with plastic liner which was really tricky to open so should be well-protected in transit. RRP £8.99 at the time of writing this review.

Real Techniques consistently make excellent but affordable brushes, these purple handled brushes are designed for applying eye makeup in this case one applies a base shadow all over the lid and the second blends out any shading and definition applied to the crease and outside edge to diffuse harsh lines and create a softer, ethereal effect. Both brushes are lovely, dense and firm to pick up product to apply and blend well without absorbing but all into the bristles. They are super soft meaning no scratchy fibres pulling on the delicate eye skin which is very important especially for those with skin sensitivities but also as we age as it works product into the skin rather than across it ordragging and stretching the skin. Both brushes have become permanent parts of my makeup brush collection, I like a dense fluffy brush for applying a base shadow, whether a wash or a more opaque application of colour rather than using a flat brush which I prefer for detail and crease/lash edge work. The contouring and shading done along the crease is often better blended out to create a soft focus or airbrushed effect by effective blending and the crease blending brush is a handy one to have in your kit and if you've never blended out your eyeshadow before may make a massive difference in your look and improvement in your technique. Both brushes wash up well and I haven't had any fibre loss or shedding which is a big bonus. This set is a great addition to any brush collection, but they are not the only brushes required for the minimum applying eye makeup, you would still need at least something for crisper detail such as in the crease to be blended out by the crease brush.I would hands down buy this set again if one got lost, it's an absolute bargain, if you've only ever used cheap brushes before and can afford to upgrade a few pieces these are definitely worth it.

The brushes arrive in standard Real Techniques packing which is a sturdy plastic packing that keeps the products in top condition and on the back also has a reminder to check out the brand via social media where sites like YouTube include instructions on correct use of the products. This set contains base shadow brush and delux crease brush.Base shadow brush is designed to apply colour to the entire lid, with finely tapered bristles the brush is designed for sweeping cream and powdered eyeshadows across the lid and can be used for blending too. Deluxe crease brush is for blending shadows in the crease of the eyelid, it has an oversized brush head designed for easy blending of your eyeshadows. This set is essentially two very basic eyeshadow brushes, but remember that basic also means versatile.Real Technique are colour coded so purple is for the eyes, I appreciate the colour-coding so it's easy to identify which brushes I need for which phase of my makeup routine, and the name of the brush is also printed on the side so you know which is which.Real Techniques tend to be more expensive than some other brands, typically I will have no problem slapping my makeup on with a cheap £1 set of brushes, but you do definitely get what you pay for as Real Techniques are a much better quality. Currently this set is priced at £7.85 which is fairly reasonable for the whole set, especially considering Real Techniques quality.

Gorgeous. That sums up the feel of using these brushes and the ease of use. I've never seen eye brushes quite as wide tipped as these Real Techniques brushes and wondered if I could use them. Well, the answer is yes, they are very cleverly hand-cut so that the tip isn't as wide as the rest of the brush. If you have any doubts, there is an excellent YouTube tutorial video on how to use them - look for Real Technique videos > All About Eyes> Shading Brush Tutorial, which is video 16.It shows how to get a subtle socket defining line using the tip of the brush and a more dramatic all-lid coverage, using the brush to push the eyeshadow on to the lid.The tip of the brush is fine enough to dab a littlecolour under the lower lashes. The ends of the handles have a rubberised coating making them easy to grip and the handles are a lovely purple shade making them easy to spot in your make up organiser.Lots to like about these gorgeous brushes and absolutely nothing to dislike.

I'm a big fan of Real Techniques makeup brushes, owning a lot of the brushes in their range. I like the colour-coding of the handles - purple for eyes, gold for base, and pink for finish (lips, scuplting, etc) - as they are easy to identify. This duo pack includes 2 brushes for eyes - shade and blend. The base shadow brush has "finely tapered bristles for buildable, all-over lid application" and the crease brush is a "soft, oversized design for effortless blending in crease". They can be used with powder or cream eyeshadows. As I have owned and used this brand of brushes for a long time (and already have these 2 paricularly brushes),I can vouch for the fact that they do no t ose any hair and are very easy to clean. If you're looking for a budget brand of brushes that combine quality with performance, I would certainly recommend these brushes. But be warned ... you will want to buy more!

These brushes are great value for money. I normally use MAC or Zoeva brushes, but I was really pleasantly surprised with the quality of the Real Techniques brushes. They're perfect for anyone who wants good makeup brushes, but would be especially good for anyone who wants to upgrade from basic brushes but doesn't want to spend a fortune on the big brands like MAC. The brushes are really versatile and the bristles are nice and soft and apply the shadow really well, I especially love the deluxe crease brush - it makes blending an absolute doddle. What's even better is that there are videos on the website that show you how to use each brush, so if you're just starting out and aren't quite sure what each brush is used for you can check them out.I will definitely be buying more brushes from this range!

I have read other reviews telling they received the fake product, so I was a bit hesitant to buy it but since it was on a deal it was too tempting to skip it. I received a different looking makeup brush duo so I looked it up on the Internet and went to the local drugstore to compare it and have found that they changed the design over the years and the one I received was the new design. Amazon even warns that the packaging and colors may vary so be assured that this product is not fake. The brushes are very soft and easy to blend the eyeshadow, they do not shed the hair. Handles are sturdy and the bottom part will not fall off even when you pull on it, this is one way to make sure it is not fake.Overall,I would recommend them as they are affordable and do the job quite well.

I love the ‘Real Techniques’ range of makeup products as they have been well thought out and designed to make like quicker and easier. The brushes are soft and kind to your skin, they keep their shape and can be reused time and time again. You get two brushes in this set:Base shadow – A perfect size brush to cover your eyelid up to the brow line with your desired colour. You can add a darker colour to the crease line for more definition before blending it with the crease brush.Deluxe crease – Can be used for blending eyeshadow or even for concealer on small areas. It is great for blending below the brow line to give a more natural and graduated look down to the colour of your lids.Overall thisduo set is perfect for creating and defining the eyeshadow look you want.

These are beautifully soft brushes and seem well-made so that the bristles haven't come loose, even after washing them out. The kit comprises two brushes - one for the crease line and one for applying base powder. Helpfully the brush type is marked on each brush. There aren't any instructions for use on the packaging - you are directed to Real Technique's YouTube site for guidance if you need it. I have only tried the brushes with powder eye-shadow - they are stated to be capable of being used with both powder and cream shadow. They pick up powder well and blend very nicely. The handle isn't too long but I would have preferred a wooden or bamboo handle as I find these easier to grip and controlthe brush with.

One of the things that I most like about this set is the design of the brush heads. Unlike some on the market, they are not overly large, so the application is more accurate and the results look good. The bristles on both brushes have the same softness, but the thinner one is tapered for marking a crease line; they are also lightweight and very comfortable to use.The bristles pick up powder and crème shadow equally well, and don’t scratch the skin. I was especially pleased with the crease liner brush - it didn’t cover half my upper and lower lids with product, and it blended well. After washing them, they retained their shape and there were no loose bristles.I can’t fault these very nice brushes.

I love the fact that these brushes are so soft. Its hard to stick something near something as delicate as your eyes if it isnt nice and soft. These are both brushes for use on the eyes (all Real Technique eye brushes are purple). Each brush is labelled so if you forget what its for you dont need to spend hours on you tube looking for it.The deluxe crease brush is large and round, the base shadow brush is slimmer but the bristles are the same length. I wish there was a bit more info on the packaging about each brush. I dont want to look online for advice on how to use something ive bought. Also the box the brushes comes in is a bit of a pain to open. Love the brushes though.

There is a YouTube tutorial (search by "Real techniques eye shed and blend") which is really helpful in using these (and is indicated on the packaging). These brushes are very soft indeed, and with no loose hairs, and feel great against the skin. The brushes have a good sized shaft and because the tips of the brushes are white you can see how much product you have put on them. The shiny brushes and broad shafts make them easy to find in your bag. The brushes are labelled 'base shadow brush' and 'deluxe crease brush' which is helpful. The brushes have a rubberised coating on about the bottom third of the shaft. They are washable and dry overnight easily.

This brand of makeup brush is the best you will find in a budget. They are affordable but such good quality. These two brushes are the ultimate pair. They are really all you truly need to make the perfect eyeshadow look. They are essentials for me. They make my eyeshadow look really flawless without much skill or effort on my part. They don't scratch my eyelids or lose any hair when I am using them.I can't argue with the price of this set as it is very reasonable for the quality that comes with them. I would love to try more from this brand in the future. There aren't enough affordable makeup brushes on the market but these are making up for that

I bought these brushes to replace RT brushes that I’ve had for years, best part is I could’ve gone on using them but times come - they’ve been faithful for years it’s time for them to have a break! These new ones are every bit as good as my ‘old faithfuls’, they feel soft going on and are compact enough to hold a decent amount of colour. They blend amazingly which is the main reason I rate these brushes so highly. They’re an easy brush to use. They wash and dry well keeping their shape every time. I’ve no doubt these brushes will be colouring my eyelids for many years to come!

Real Techniques Eye Shade and Blend Brush Set is an excellent set of two brushes which provide great eyeshadow application. The actual brush is dense enough to allow great control plus the blending brush provided me with perfect blending which helped me provide the smoky eye area. The actual brush is held in securely, therefore, no stray hairs escaping onto the eye area which can lead to sore eyes if not careful. The Real Techniques Eye Shade and Blend Brush Set are a great little duo which will be perfect for the application of eye cosmetics.Happy to recommend.
