These headphones were bought for my 15yr old daughter for her gaming pc, they replace her original kraken headphones bought a few years ago.I purchased these headphones in black with the round ear cushions. Why 5*? ..... because these headphones are absolutely brilliant. These Razer Kraken Chroma 7.1 V2 headphones are quite impressive out of the box.Supplied are the headphones plus cable, which is huge, definitely long enough for most users,(also for anyone interested, you get the usual Razer stickers with the instructions). They have a very high quality feel to them and are not too heavy. If you are anything like my daughter then comfort is (apparently) very important while gaming, the ear cushions are round with thick soft padding (I tried these on myself and I have to admit that they are incredibly comfortable, no pinching or squashing of the ears or head like a lot of other headphones do). They also have an adjustable padded head bar (very comfy) and a retractable mic which is easy to remove/replace.A nice added feature to these headphones is the lighting effects on each side of the ears, these cycle through the Chroma colour spectrum in the centre of the outside of each earphone (where the Razer logo is).Now the important bit... the sound quality! Wow..these are pretty impressive, the sound is crystal clear and unbelievably sharp. They are also noise cancelling which (having shouted up the stairs to my daughter numerous times and getting zero reply) I can confirm works ?These headphones are pretty amazing and tick all the right boxes. I would definitely recommend these to anyone wanting a high quality gaming headset at a good price.5* rating?

Having just got the product, I immediately tested it on my PC. Its amazing, the quality is amazing and the bass is just perfect as well. Depending on what settings you can use, you could tweak this and change it. Everything this product has to offer does what it does and its perfect for gaming and other various tasks one could assume.Does this product work for the Xbox One?Answer: Yes it does! It does work perfectly fine on the Xbox One console, and the sound is crisp. The only requirement for it to work is if you have a controller that is compatible using a 3.5mm audio jack for the headset to plug into. You can use the newer controllers that just have the audio jack hole to plug into or if you have an older controller that requires the adapter - just plug it into that. There should be no issues at all. But, keep in mind that controllers that have the adapter pack and you're controller is wireless then expect to be charging your controller again within 3 hours or less as it drains the battery quickly. My recommendation is to purchase or use a controller that just has the audio jack hole, doesn't matter if that's wireless, it won't effect it's usage time, typically a wireless controller lasts 5 hours and will need charged again - which is fair.Noise cancellation is great, it doesn't block everything out but it's just enough so that you don't get distracted. Also, the fact that it doesn't completely cancel out all noise allows you to be somewhat aware of what's going on around you. I 100 per cent recommend.

For some reason (laziness?) all the reviews for the different models and versions are lumped together so be careful if making a decision based on reviews here.Ok so I'm pretty happy with these headphones. Sound quality is decent with a lot of detail and an overall nice, "warm" sound. Very lively with a good dollop of bass. As with most headphones and speakers, however, I'd imagine the sound will only get better after few days of use for a burn-in period. The earcups and headband are nice and big with lovely soft padding so comfort over long periods is there. The mic is OK. Not amazing in terms of sound quality but my mates could hear me loud and clear so it does the job well enough. The mic is pretty sensitive so if you're using for the PS4 (dunno about Xbox) you may want to go into the settings and adjust the sensitivity from there to a level you're happy with. These headphones also have a great feature called "sidetone" aka "mic monitoring" where one can hear their own voice so they aren't accidentally talking too loudly due to the noise isolation of the big earcups. I personally love this feature but if it's not for you then you may have to turn the mic off altogether by pressing the little button that's conveniently located at the end of the mic piece itself. There's a little red ring LED that lights up when the mic is muted so you can easily tell whether it's on or not.Just my initial impressions off the Razer Kraken 7.1 Chroma V2

I found it difficult to discover which headset would work with console. As an Xbox user I was receiving contrasting information. As someone else highlighted, the reviews are for all models of the Kraken range.I purchased the Pros as I read the 7.1s don't work with consoles.Using these with the new Xbox One X controller, I found the volume too low. Fortunately I discovered the mixer and now the sound is great, doh! Silly me.At first, I thought they felt a bit cheap. The build is so light and seemingly 'plasticy', you can't help but feel underwhelmed. However, they are so comfortable, the light build is superb so maybe I shouldn't judge quality by the weight of a product. I mean I make no apology for this, having upgraded to the Xbox X recently, that feels solid and weight which says quality to me, so I'd be interested to see how long these headphones last.I hope this review helps because I appreciate my star rating is rather contradictory to what I've typed. Maybe you'll understand and agree if you take the plunge and purchase these. They have improved my gaming experience since moving from my Turtle Beach XO Sevens.I have used these for a while now and must add that the mute switch seems a little flimsy and feel this is effecting balance at times. It always crackles every time I use the mute switch or touch it be mistake. Would like to see this improved with future models.

A great headset by Razer who have stepped up their game with the new V2's, it's well built so it will be able to take some knocks if you drop it by accident. It's lightweight and comfortable with big ear cups that will fit any ears, however the fabric on the headband is quite thin although i do like the fabric i would prefer it to be thicker to provide more support. The audio quality is excellent with good bass so that's a plus if you like decent bass like me. Its perfect for gaming with 7.1 surround sound making it easy to identify enemies footsteps and the like. It is also noise cancelling for better immersion. Onto the microphone,it has a surprising good mic with very clear voice quality which does the job well when you're using voice chat with your teammates or friends. There is also a mute button located near the end of the mic that displays a red LED when muted which is nice to have. Finally there is also software that you can download for extra options and i do recommend you download it,Its called Razer Synapse.

Nice sounding headphones but when you first get them they will sit on your head like a vice and there is a good chance you will experience discomfort behind one of or both of your ears, especially if you wear glasses. To combat this I recommend placing them width ways over the amazon box they come in for a couple of hours at least, this will loosen them up and they will be comfortable to wear. Have had mine now for nearly a week and they were very painful to wear. I discovered the 'trick' I mentioned, less than 12 hours ago, i stretched them over the box for a couple of hours and they are now comfy for the first time. There is a YouTube video called 'DIY - how to make your headphones more comfortable'by 'Simplex - Simplifying tech', that shows this if you want to see it.You also need to download the razer synapse software, which I was not prompted to download when I first plugged them in, which I thought I would be and I had to google search for it. So just be aware of that too.

After a long time making do with an outdated, barely usable headset for what felt like forever, I finally purchased the Razer Kraken Chroma is that I could finally retire my poor old one from duty.Already being the owner of various Razer pc accessories, I decided to stick with them and purchase a matching mic. I am not disappointed. Fantastic device, good quality mic and great sound. I’m pleased with the device as I think for the money it is a great addition to my kit.It is extremely pleasing (in my opinion) to the eye and can be programmed through Razer’s software to light up in a variety of ways, allowing the user to match its lighting to their other devices. The cable is plentiful, durable and easy to manage, whilst the mic itself can be muted as easily as pressing the end. To protect the manoeuvrable mic, it can be slotted in and out of the headset, making storage simple and tidy.Overall, a well made, good quality headset for a fairly reasonable price. I love it!

Perfect sound in my opinion, great for the low ends, if you looking for a bassy headset and you're a gamer who plays FPS games a lot, you will love the sound of explosions and the environment really love the headset, had Kraken 7.1 v1 and this is a big improvement, very comfy even for longer gaming sessions (basically everyday...) though, on the other side, for the same price you will probably be able to find a headset with better high end and maybe more music orientated if you are a gamer and love to use your headset for music too, and if you are into RGB lighting there will probably be a better alternative. However, for my use gaming + late night music sessions this is a damn good headset and probably wont be buying any other until this one sees its last days.I recommend if you looking for a great gaming headset, and your music taste relies on low end sounds rather than crystal clear high ends :)

I bought these for my new PC build, very good and durable. I like headphones with nice bass, since im a dj, i notice things like this very well.I can tell you know, for gaming, these are insane, they are actually very good at blocking sound from the outside, very well in fact. To add to this, they are super comfy and i can use them for long periods of time. Of course they also feel, look and are DURABLE which is another main thing i look for in headphones. And boy are they loud, in fact i have to turn them down which with my old headphones i always had to turn it up to max and not see much difference, but with these, god bless your ears.Overall The mic is superb, though i need to play around with this feature, especially on synapse, i often go loud and quite, so friends listening get frustrated, but i dont care because these headphones are awesome.Superperb bass, durability and mic.

Bought this about 2 years ago to use with my Xbox, I use this headset now all the time as the sound quality is great even after 2 years! The retractable mic worked great for in-game voice over the Xbox, however after 2 years of overusing the mute switch, the microphone now creates some feedback when using the volume wheel and mute switch, however, this has only become an issue over the last few months after a lot of use.The adjustable band is great as well as it is very adjustable which is great as most headsets end up being too big for me! The ear cushions are great as well, but after 2 years of use, they are starting to get misshapen, but these can be replaced for £20 and are honestly not an issue at all.Overall a very good headset if you want good quality audio and want a microphone that can pick up your voice if you don't mind the microphone quality being only okay.

It's a good headset, the mic is clear and the software allows you to change colours and adjust the sound. The sound quality is good but in my opinion, they are not as good as the Astro A40's but as they don't cost as much that is expected. The ability to push the mic into the headset is useful and stops it moving around when not in use. The earcups are large, even on the round cushion model and fit comfortably. I also like the cable which is good quality and comes with a cap to put on the end of the USB when not in use. My only dislike is that I can hear myself talking when using the microphone, some people might like this and Razer even includes a mic monitor setting to redirect your own audio back through the headset allowing you to hear yourself talk but I would have personally liked a bit more sound isolation to prevent this when the monitor setting is off.

This headset has good sounds quality but a really bad mic. I expected more from this headset than my g231 since this one is more expensive. The sound quality was better and it is way more comfortable. What makes me annoyed with this headset is how bad the mic is. It's grainy, unclear and picks up breathing way too easily. I would recommend lowering the mic volume and pushing it away from your mouth so you don't make your teammates ears bleed. I like how comfortable the headset it though, it doesn't press against my glasses and it doesn't press against my head like my g231 did. The earcups are thick and feel nice around your ears. I'm glad I got this on a deal since I wouldn't buy it for it's full price. The box includes a headphones/mic splitter which is good. I would recommend if you need a comfortable headset but don't used the mic very much.

These headphones are a solid choice for the price you pay. In terms of comfort they are very light and you sometimes forget you even have them on. The sound is where it let's itself down a bit. These are very bass heavy, not so much that they've over done it but it seems to drown out the mids slightly and that's something some users may not like. Personally I enjoy bass heavy gaming. When I compare these to my Turtle Beach XO Seven Pro's I can't help but think I may use these more. The turtle beaches have a totally different sound stage to the Razer Kraken Pro V2 so I may have to use them for certain games. I definitely don't mind alternating between two premium headsets!Overall for the £65 I paid I'm very happy with my purchase.I think Razer have done a solid job with these especially when it comes to comfort.

Had a few pitfalls with this headset, but read this and don't be discouraged...#1 Registered the headset on the Razer website. Then I downloaded Razer Surround, it asked me to register headset for a key for the Razer Surround Pro licence, but I couldn't because I'd already registered it. Had to contact Razer support, thirty minutes later I had the key...#2 My mates were always complaining I sounded far away, it seemed to be that moving the mic from 3mm distance to 2mm from my face solved this.... Nearly sent them back at this point... However it appears the default enabled setting of Sound Normalisation within the Razer Surround was the problem, disabled that setting and finally a very happy man.Great sound quality, mic finally doesn't sound poor. Avoid these pitfalls you wont be dissatisfied!

I use this headset with my computer, for an array of things, such as playing games to watching movies. The sound quality is amazing, and the microphone is very handy as it slots back in, which protects it from damage and you easily can mute it with one press.Unfortunately the USB port means I can’t use this device for things like my phone etc but nonetheless any USB supported device would benefit from having these great earphones alongside with it.I often find headsets to put pressure on my head after hours of gaming to the point id have to take them off as it was extremely uncomfortable, but the razor kraken is very soft and comfortable to wear for longer periods of time.I have yet to use the chroma settings but I think it’s a cool feature. Would recommend these.
