It doesnt take a keen eye to tell that mini games have become a genre all to themselves, cast under the long shadow of mario party.Ubisofts limbless wonder Rayman reaches for the top place but does it deliver.Raymans buddies have been kidnapped by masercistic bunnies, and now you have to compete for 15 days through double dare activities, to free them and yourself, its a convienient if skippy fram story, but it does mark your progress and give you a goal to set your eyes on.The production values are through the roof with all the details drenched in the bizarness of Raymans world, even the licensed usic gets the flak of wierd. The amount of costumes allow for a personal frankenstein of Rayman,or being a fahsion victim is good all time fun. Each day offers 4 activities that make use of the various functions of the wii remote, with the occasional nunchuk only games. 3 games need to be cleared in order to advance, so if throwing cows isnt to your liking you can skip it, although completing all four unlocks more songs and costumes. The main events are usually either a delightful plunger shooting or warthog racing, both of these events are really fleshed out with a wide variety of ebvironments and hotspots, the bunnies also come dressed in their own costumes such as sam fisher rom splinter cell.the warthog races are definatly not mario kart material but they are just a bit more then running laps, also when rabids cant milk cows warthogs can drift.Multiplayer and scoring games allow you to use what you have unlocked, this means no multiplayer out of the box, high scores unlock videos and tidius online scoring while the game remains offline.Mulitplayer makes few consessions with split screen co op, but also a lot of waiting for turns, remember these are mini games not micro games.Rayman will make you abuse your body, even though little movements can win you games going all out swinging is going to happen, especially when approaching some of the more frantic mini games with timers counting down, expect a jerk, jolt, joggle and probably other words as rayman trys to get rid of the cute bunny overlords. Sweating is a possibility.the games themselves are various, funny, fun and well put together but by the second round youll see they are not that various.By the third round youll grow suspisious of the dance floor game and how many times its going to resurface all be it with some new tunes and pacing, and while some games repeat the motions, with new window dressing and time limits, some like the dance floor are just repeats but just more difficult.the enevitable nutshell, the games are fun by themselves and youll want to complete the overall game but marathon sessions can get deja vu, and possible collapsing. The party aspect offers alot of fun returns though watching someone spray carrot juice into a diving mask can make a delightful spectator sport at times.Rayman Raving Rabids rolls triple six for carisma but the overall implementation is flawed, the games repeat core mechanics too often, many solo games go on for too long but good for alternating multiplayer. Its obvious that the wii version is going to be the superior version it does limit the play by repeated games/ controls and possible strane. Its a solid launch game (heavy on the launch). But it is a very well polished game, alot of fun with or without friends and will become a partying sensation.Graphics - 8Sound - 8Gameplay - 8Design - 9Value - 7Overall - 8.5/ 10

Rayman Raving Rabbids is one of those games that does not tell you anything and will not convince you to purchase it just by the cover. I first played this game at a friends' house with 3 other people. There are hundreds of multiplayer games, all of which can be played with 4 people (and using control + nunchuck which is not common). This game, alongside Wario Smooth Moves (read my review on this game) is the most enjoyable multiplayer game you can have for 4 players (I'll cheekily included wii sports, tennis on that list). The games you play involve these white, hyperactive, delirious, rabid rabbits where, most of the time, you have to hit them or throw them around. The reactions you get from these little bunnies are unbelievably funny and will make you crack up EVERY TIME.Another laugh-out-loud factor is the energy the players must put into the minigame in order to win it. One of the games that I prefer involves using the nunchuck as a hammer and the remote as a pointer and you have to smash your bunny's head as many times as you can in a given time (30 seconds I think it was). When the time is up, each of the bunnies start growing a massive lump on the heads from the hits you've given them with the hammer, and whoever's bunny has the biggest lump wins!!! (LOL!!) The funny bit is seeing your friends trying to hold a steady pose whilst aiming at their bunny's head with the remote whilst making the "hammering" gesture with the nunchuck as fast as they can - the winner tends to be the person who can restrain from cracking up as it is actually quite tricky to hit the bunny on the head!Another game that is worth mentioning is one where you take in turns to feed a bunny... the game itself consists on drawing out the edges of an item with the remote. Once you have completed drawing the item (when you have surrounded the item with your line drawing) the item becomes solid and the bunny eats it in a spectacularly aggressive fashion, making the funniest noises and faces you can't even imagine!!! You get more points the more accurate the drawing is.I can't help but provide you with another example of an enjoyable game: you see 4 empty wooden cabin-toilets on a beautiful sunny beach. 4 raving "rabbids" run towards the toilets and occupy one each, closing the door behind them and making the sort of noises that suggest they're making the most of their time in there!!! There is a countdown from 3 and when the word GO appears rabbit after rabbit slowly try to open the doors as they're done doing their business. The objective of this game is to shut the doors before they open, and keep the bunnies stuck in the loo for as long as you can! They get temperamental and aggressive as the time goes by, and the longer they stay the more impatient they become, trying to open the doors quickly and aggressively. You aim at the door with your remote and you close them by swinging the nunchuck. By the time a minute has passed (my record) you will be facing 4 rabid bunnies that are constantly trying to kick the doors open, and very soon you'll find one has finally managed to swing the door open and throws the PLUNGER at you!!!! this indicates the game is over. The winner is the person who holds the bunnies locked in the longest!!!The reason for which I have put 4 stars is the graphics.Like most games, give it a go before purchasing it, but rest assured: Laughter is guaranteed! Furthermore if you have 4 people willing to have a laugh this is it!

i picked up a wii with this game on launch day after much research. Let me just say that I own NES (i got used), N64, Dreamcast, GC, and now Wii. I was getting tired of gaming. I am definitely not a hardcore gamer, and in my precious free hours when I come home from work I don't want to sit around and get fat (that's what TV is for).Anyway, this game really gets you moving. The mini games are often hilarious (you WILL randomly LOL while playing) and fun. The shooting levels that end each set of mini games utilize the wii controller in the most natural way, and it is immersive and intuitive. I played this game to about 33% completion the first day I had it. This is unusual for me.I figure I'll get about ten hours of gameplay out of story mode if things continue at the present pace. The game gives you an objective early on, and this motivates you to progress through the mini games. I like them so much that I have gone back and beaten the optional 4th mini game in each level I've passed.I can't speak for any of the other launch titles, but I haven't had this much fun in single player gaming on a console...ever. And all of the mini games and shooting games (you shoot plungers by the way) are available for multiplayer after they have been beaten, although some of them cannot be played concurrently by multiple players. On a final note, some of the mini games will physically wear you out. Some of the games involving rapid movement (running, cow milking, cow tossing, carrot juice pumping) may require you to catch your breath. If you can't handle this, then you'll be glad to know you can skip one of the mini games in each level. But this physical exertion makes beating a mini game much more gratifying.I cannot recommend this strongly enough. Get this game.

Rayman is one of the many party mini games that has been released already for the wii. Playing as rayman you work your way through mini challenges in a bid to escape your captors. There are plenty of mini games on offer here giving you a multitude of options to choose from. The mini games range from 15 second bites to some slightly longer ones including the dance game amongst others. Some of the mini games do suffer from wii remote problems where they do not respond as well as would be desired though this is inevitable with wireless gaming. The games on rayman are for the most part very entertaining,I wouldnt say I laugh my head off at them like some reviewers but they are funny enough to make you smile and enjoy the game that much more. This game is like a roller coaster in two minutes you may go from loving it to wanting to throw your wii out the window (some of those mini games can be exasperating again largely due to the responsiveness of the wireless technology).Overall though if you have the patience for some of the more annoying mini games this is a good buy. Im not entirely sure about the age ratings as I think you would need to be over eight or so to really have any proper understanding of the workings of the game. Finally I would like to point out that the bonuses on this game deserve special mention, on most games the bonuses are just pictures that you have no interest in. In rayman however the bonuses are quite funny little video clips and for the first time ever in a video game actually made me want to complete the game to see them all.Overall a great little game for those distracted or bored few minutes you may have here or there. Well worth buying get it and share it with friends and family alike.

I brought this game at the launch of the Wii on THE EIGHTH OF DECEMBER! Before this date, noone in the UK owned the game. Anyway, personally for me this was rayman, but not as we know him.Instead of his usual platform adventure, this is a series of mini games, which isn't necessarily a bad thing. The story is basically this. Mad rabbit looking creatures have captured Rayman and are forcing him to participate in some mad games. Every day he recieves a plunger as a trophy which he will eventually use to escape with. The graphics are excellent, and the product has a general quality feel about it. The characters are definately unique and creative and the locations and settings from ships,to cowboy towns are great. Now, the games. Usng the nunchuck and wii remote, you'll have to complete certain tasks such as racing, (alternately shake the nunchuck and remote) to closing changing room doors (aim with the remote and close by shaking nunchuch) and dancing (shake the nunchuck and remote in time.) There are other games such as throwing a cow as far as possible and first person shooting zones where you'll have a plunger gun which is a good laugh too.Yet as you advance, you can't help but feel angry. Some of the games are annoyingly hard, and you'll feel it's the controllers fault that you lost. I found this, maybe it's only me, but I want you to know that. Secondly, after the games, there isn't much reason to go back and replay the game, and thus replay value doesn't come into it.I feel personally, it's a good title, and really shows us what the wii is capable of, but I think most of us would have preferred a platformer as opposed to what we got. A good game though, nonetheless.

I bought this game following an all-night wii session at a friend's house and I'm glad I did - the comedy value of seeing grown men addicted to the Bunnies Can't Dance game doesn't wear thin. But, oh boy, can it be frustrating sometimes. The concept of the story-mode is well conceived, with each level consisting of 3 games and a longer challenge, at which point you can safely switch off and save your progress: so you can play for 10 - 15 mins, or all night. The score mode works equally well, either in multi-player mode or just killing time on your own. However, I have just two minor gripes about this game:1) that it can be extremely frustrating when the wireless controllers aren't behaving,or just aren't sensitive to pick up on your actions (yes, yes, I know the bad player blames the remotes, but it's true, honest!! Occasionally anyway)2) that some of the multi-player modes aren't truly multi-player. We're addicted to the dancing bunnies mini-games, and while they play as split screen for two players, which is brilliant, plug in any more controllers and it forces eachplayer to play the same track, 3 or 4 times, one after the other - just takes all the fun out of it. The same goes for some of the other multi-player games where they could have split screened them. This means that this is a great game to play with one other friend, but becomes very long-winded with a bigger group.Over-all though, this is a game that is well worth adding to the library.

This is so far my favourite game on the Wii, and whilst it's available on other platforms, I can't imagine it being even remotely (pun not intended) as much fun as on the Wii.I played a Rayman "platform" game many years ago, and thought it was absolute rubbish, and didn't really hold out much hope for this one; however, there wasn't much else available at the time, and I'd heard a few good things about it, so I thought I'd give it a go.I'm glad I did, as the twisted genius of the games involved just has me grinning from ear to ear. From cow flinging to bunny hunting to disco dancing, this game just keeps on giving. I'd actually have been happy with the game if all it included were the bunny hunt games or the dance stage games,as both are well worth the price on their own.Though I have given it 5 stars, I can still find fault in it. For one I'm never a fan of trying to force a story into a game where one really isn't needed, and then it is sometimes tedious moving from one mini-game to another, I also find navigating the multi-player menus somewhat confusing, and some of the games can be infuriating until you work out the non-obvious knack (toilet doors - I'm looking at you!); however, all that said, it's just such fun I can't really bring myself to score it any less. It's also a great party game, though I'd suggest just taking it in turns to play through the min-games in story mode, rather than playing in the actual multi-player modes.

I was fortunate enough to obtain a Wii for my son this Christmas, and along with the console I picked up a couple of titles to go with it, one of which was this.I have to say that after seeing my kids on this I had to have a go and I'm completely hooked! My previous experience of Rayman was as a platformer, but this is a collection of mini-games and a complete departure from the usual Rayman titles. Each level consists of an arena, where upon you must complete at least 3 of the 4 challenges to open up the main gate. This takes you to an end of level game which you must pass in order to move onto the next arena. The challenges themselves are inspired - not only do they make excellent use of the Wiimote & Nunchuk but because they are so short they never get chance to be boring or repetitive. Some of the games are simple "waggle the remote as fast as possible" (a bit like the old button basher games) and others require skill to complete a maze or puzzle within a given time. I have now played 6 levels so that's 24 different mini-games (plus boss battles) and the challenges are never so difficult that I want to give up but it grips you with that "just one more go" factor. There have been 2 mini-games that I thought were a bit lame and there is almost always a dance level as one of the 4 games, but as the game boasts over 70 games repetition has not been a problem so far![...]. Do yourself a favour - buy Rayman!

In this game you play as Rayman and try to defeat the rabbits. There are 15 days you (Rayman) have to spend trying to complete a serise of mini games. Each day has 4 games. These games are slightly crazy and you have to lots random things like running from bombs, squirting carrot juice, milking cows, shutting doors... etc ...etc Soon you will notice the Buunies like disco dancing game pop up a lot. In this you swing the wii remote side to side when the bunnies appear. As you progress it become more and more difficult. The graphics are quite cool and quirky. The Rabbits look slightly scary though! This game is definetly good value for money. I wouldn't recommend this game to young children as some of the games are a little tricky, however this game is generally aimed at everyone. You can even get exercise when playing- when you are running, flying or killing bunnies!I would certainly recommend you to buy this game, however be warned it is very addictive!****

This must surely be the most under-rated game of the Wii launch. While everyone is picking up Zelda, I fear this game is being forgotten, and it really, really shouldn't. I haven't had this much fun playing a game on my own for years, and multi-player - probably ever. It's just all-round silliness and you will find yourself constantly laughing at the daft situations, sound effects and evil bunnies (lots of them!). The mini-games all make fantastic use of the Wiimote, and each in a different way. Some require real physical effort, something unheard of for most games, but as the previous reviewer concluded, this makes beating the games even more pleasing. This is a game that everyone can play and really epitomises what the Wii is about: fun and easy for everyone to join in.This is worth buying a Wii for on its own. If this is the future of gaming with the Wiimote, we have a bright Wii future ahead of us.

I arrived late at this title, fearful that it would just be another pile of half hearted mini games with no longevity. Let me tell you, I'm glad I got it, eventually, it's one of the funniest titles for the Wii. The graphics and content are wickedly creative and who couldn't have the time of their life beat keeping to Chics "Good times" or Cyndi Lauper's "Girl's just wanna have fun"? Or shooting things with plungers, cow tossing, pig rescuing, sky diving, dentistry and much much more.We all had a blast playing this. The mini-games aren't that easy either so there's hours of game play. In fact, some are really frustrating to the point of desperation, but that's all part of the fun. It's a great game for all age groups.Don't hesitate!P.S. Avoid Rayman II, it's totally unengaging and a real disappointment, especially compared with this games brilliance.

This was one of the first games I was given when I received a Nintendo Wii way back in 2006, which now seems so long ago. I never got into the game until 3 years later. Now, every time my best friend comes to visit we spend o' so many hours wacking lose raving rabbids.I've almost finished story mode, and I tell you it has been a challenge. If you're finding it hard to play story mode by yourself, invite a couple of friends round to help. Take it in turns to play the mini-games, and you will soon find yourself steaming ahead. My favourite mini-game is the Disco Dancing game (this is what I call it, I'm unsure on what it's really called). If you play the game with a friend it can get very competitive,so beware! Both young and old will love this game, you may even find you have to set time limits to play... yes, it can be that addictive!

Getting my Wii on Friday I go the package from ToysRUs. Not the best package but not too bad. Got Call of Duty 3 which was far more like it. On returning to the store I got Rayman - Raving Rabbids. Hearing good results.Well if you have a Wii and wonder where the superb graphics and explotation of the new controllers is - well it's in Rayman! Superb graphics, awesome gameplay - this is what the Wii was about. Great fun, playable from the start - gets harder nice and steady.Mental to the last - from cow throwing to the great disco challenges. Taking advantage of the Wii control like no othe rgame has - this is a game the whole family will love. Good party levels for up to 4 players. Simply brilliant. If you have a Wii - and you haven't got this then put it back in the box - you haven't give it a chance to show off yet!

Having been lucky enough to track down a Wii in time for xmas I wanted a fun game that all the family could play. No 'shoot um ups' for me. Raving Rabbids was indeed an inspired choice. My husband in particular is not a gaming fan but when he saw Wii on Breakfast news he declared an interest. WE (not the kids) have played the most on this game, having a sneaky go when they are out/gone to bed etc. It is such good fun, nothing violent etc (except firing sink plungers at rabbits!!!) Levels are not long and drawn out and despite some of the tasks being a real challenge to our rhythm, reaction times etc but it does become very addictive in the best possible way. Everyone in the family can enjoy this game - superb graphics, easy to understand - highly recommended!!

Rayman Raving Rabbids is a hilarious game and is best to play on the wii. The game includes you playing a series of mini-games to help get the baby Globox's back from the evil bunnies called 'Rabbids'.The game can really be fun, but it depends what mood your in. If you are feeling lazy this is not the game for you, you have to excersise alot in this game! Also, it would be nice to have a platform rayman game. Mini-games are allright but it does get boring...sometimes.The rabbids are absolutely hilarious and i love the design on them! You can also unlock special bunnie videos such as 'Bunnies can't milk cows' or 'Bunnies can't cook eggs'.A good game. It just depends what you make of it.
