First off, the idea and execution of this puzzle is genius. I didn't know what to expect or how an escape room concept could be built into a jigsaw, but not only does it work, it works really well.I wanted to provide some balance by addressing a lot of the negative comments this puzzle has received which, in my opinion, are unfair and in many cases incorrect. Be warned, many other reviews will contain spoilers, I hope I have kept my comments below vague enough that it is spoiler free.1. 'The solution is wrong' or 'the solution doesn't work' - This seems to be the most common complaint, but I can assure you it absolutely DOES work! We solved the individual puzzles (which matched to the answer book)and then found the final answer exactly as the manufacturer intended. The problem seems to be that most people who have complained about the ending not working have either not understood how to use the final clue OR have found the answer and gone one step further than intended. Once you have the answer, that's enough! And I know this because we tried to solve the puzzle using the final clue in the way other reviewers mentioned, but after a while the penny dropped that the clue leads you to the answer in a different way. If you look really closely at the picture in the answer book you can see the manufacturer never intended the final clue to be used in the way so many are complaining about. So it's not the puzzle that's wrong and the clues do work! I hope that's suitably vague so as not to give anything away.2. 'The puzzle is not the same picture as the box' - The manufacturer perhaps should have mentioned this on the box, it is mentioned in the instructions. But this just makes it part of the escape room experience. The picture on the box is how you enter the kitchen, but you need to find clues so you rummage around move and open things, the cat scarpers in surprise. The picture on the puzzle is then revealing what you have discovered so you can solve the room. The picture is still substantially the same as the box so the box can be used as a guide. Don't buy this puzzle if you just wanted a nice cat picture, remember the purpose of the puzzle3. 'The puzzle is too hard' - This is the first jigsaw puzzle I have done in about 30 years. It took me and my wife around 7 hours over three evenings to complete, and about another 2 hours to solve the riddles. That felt about right and any less time I think I would have been disappointed we completed it too quickly. There is a lot going on and it was challenging but at no point did we grind to a halt. We were able to complete the edges first as usual and then fill in from there. The picture on the box acts as a useful guide, even though some bits have changed it is substantially the same4. 'The puzzle is too dark' - Here I half agree. It is a dark puzzle but that's the atmosphere the picture is trying to represent, and there are lots of light areas too. We did find it a little difficult in the evening because not enough light made the image a bit too dark, but too much light and it would reflect off the surface. Would perhaps be best in natural daylight.We thoroughly enjoyed completing and solving this puzzle and have already ordered the next one.

We enjoyed this over several evenings during the Covid lockdown. It took the two of us two evenings to complete the jigsaw puzzle - which was a satisfying challenge due to the change in pictures, the dark colours and the way in which some pieces could go in multiple places. We then spent another evening solving the "escape" problems. This was the first of this series that we have done. I read online that this or the Witches Kitchen are the first you should do. We enjoyed it so much that we have purchased another and have recommended it to friends. We've suggested that they buy different ones then we can swap after the lockdown!

I bought this puzzle because I liked the picture.When I started it I couldn't do the edge as the colours were indistinct. Then I looked at the reviews which were saying to do the edge last. Some reviews were saying that the picture was different from the box, which alarmed me. However, the completed puzzle picture is essentially the same as the box picture, with a few minor differences. EG the cat is not on the stool.The remedy part of the puzzle was lost on me. But I enjoyed the puzzle for its own sake as it is a lovely, detailed picture.lastly, all the pieces do fit in the puzzle. The edges need particular care though.

I'm quite good with jigsaws but this took a bit longer because the pieces were very dark and hard to see especially with winter light (even when sunny). Artificial light was even worse. Still enjoyable to put together for the most part. The escape part I worked out without hints although one of the answers I could not work out, just knew what piece was needed to complete the solution. I thought that it was pretty clever. I will do another but will pick one that is a bit lighter and save the darker ones for the summer months when the natural light is better.

Puzzles are great! Escape rooms are even better!! For a parent of young children who cannot get out and about to try different escape room experiences, who needs to keep their mind agile and fully working, these puzzles are a perfect substitute.This is only the second one of these type of puzzles that I have tried and I love them, the only downside is that, at a leisurely pace, I can complete the puzzle (I am a very adept puzzler who completed the baked bean puzzle in 3.5hrs) in an evening.But I still love them!

I love these puzzles! They are sturdy and lovely. Putting them together is a delight, since they have lots of interesting detail. The illustrations are great, and the challenges add an interesting dimension to the experience. I would highly recommend!The only drawback is the large amount of puzzle dust and 'extra' wee pieces to sort through when putting it together, but honestly these puzzles are so good otherwise that I can't even bring myself to take a star for that minor inconvenience.

This puzzle is fun to assemble due to the differences between the picture on the box and the real picture. After that it is fun to find the clues and to solve the riddles hidden in the puzzle :) I love escape rooms and this puzzle gives me the very same sense I get when I'm in that kind of rooms.

A good challenge. The picture on the box was mostly the same on the jigsaw. Some of the puzzles were a little difficult to work out without the clues. Satisfying, but the colours were very muted so it made it difficult to complete some parts of it in artificial light.

bought to do whilst bored in lockdown ... not what i was expecting ... i dont understand how its an escape puzzle to be honest ... not bothered finishing ... I'm sure puzzle enthusiasts would love it but i just didnt get it ??‍♀️

Have bought a present. Looks good.Good idea for anyone who likes puzzles and games. This is two activities in one! Hopefully it'll turn a mundane puzzle into something more interesting.

Crikey this was difficult. Needed a really good light and even then I was more than half way through before the border was completed. I enjoyed it though. Never did get the clues.

Really Great Jigsaw escape room however the actual Jigsaw pieces were much darker than the picture on the box. This made it difficult to assemble and work out the clues.
