My boy cat, who is particularly sensitive and interested in any of the products which contain aromatics which have some kind of pheromonal happy affect on felines, clearly realised there was something for him in this, even before (with difficulty) I'd managed to undo the resistant child-proof cap - he was on the chair where Amazon cardboard envelope and Felisept box had been put, pawing at things. So I know that this makes a happy cat. As does the more well-established, commonly available Feliway, which I use periodically if a cat appears to be having a more stressful time - vets visits, new territorial cats moving into the neighbourhood, building work and the like.I have to say that from the human side of things (more later)this isn't quite as successful as Feliway, and from cat perspective, I can't say that I'm picking up a marked diffrerence (from Feliway) Perhaps, could I but read cat more subtly, there might BE a difference (how to measure - intensity and duration of purr, degree of posture of abandoned relaxation?)From human perspective - Feliway comes with 48 ml capacity refill bottle - this with 30, so Feliway is a better value for money. I've fiddled around with a partially used Feliway plug and bottle, and in seems the two bottle into plug fitments are interchangeable. So despite this (on instructions) saying ONLY use Felisept refils I may well just use this as a second dispenser plug, and fit a Feliway refill when this runs out.Except......the added refinement on this, compared to the Feliway plug, is that as well as plugging in to the socket and turning on at the mains, this also has its own inbuilt power switch......with a light. As the whole point of these devices is that when a cat is distressed you should leave these permanently on, the light means I couldn't leave this on overnight. Anyone sensitive to light/needing deep darkness at night knows that glowing power switches, LEDS and the like, disrupt sleep.. Feliway, by contrast, has no such annoying, extraneous glowing light

This comes with enough liquid to vapourise for a month. The cap was quite tricky to undo as very stiff and no guides as to how to press the cap to disable child safety lock. Managed it by sheer force eventually! The bottle sits under the plug which is UK with the earth / top of the plug at top, so if you were using a trailer socket you might want to ensure you place that on its side so the bottle is at the bottom. The company say ensure plenty of ventilation and that works within 50 square metres so I made sure it was placed in same room as cat likes to dwell in and with good circulation around it.As soon asan hour approx had passedwhich is how long it takes to warm up the fluid, the cat investigated it and seemed to like to be near it at least for a few minutes. They returned periodically. After we used it a couple of days we went away on holiday, and though we had people come each day to feed the cat, obviously this was not the same as us being there which we usually are most times between us.It is impossible to know how the cat would respind without this device providing the scent, but it made us feel better that we were trying everything we could to make our cat feel better. We could try on another holiday to not use it and see if there is a change but that unfortunately will not be for a while!

We have a new cat, well actually she's been here now for nearly 8 weeks and our older resident cat hates her.Resident cat spits and hisses at every opportunity so new cat exiles herself to the top of the stairs to avoid confrontation. On our vets advice, I tried Feliway, which did work, to a certain extent, but it didn't stop the hissing. We then tried Felifriends, (used simultaneously which cost a lot and was absolutely useless. When I was offered Felisept to try I accepted the challenge gratefully!Feliway uses phenoromes.' Felisept uses that tried and tested herb 'Catnip'. I am over the moon because it worked instantly!!! Oh joy!!Its been going for four days now and we've only had hissing once, and that was outside away from the scent. It's like a miracle! our older resident cat is calmer, more purry, and playful. I am so happy!!!!!For anyone that has never seen the effects of Catnip on cats, go to Youtube and look up 'Cats on Catnip' It has amazing properties, inducing a type of euphoria. The cats start writhing and rolling around as though in ecstacy!I am praying the effects are as good in 30 days when it is likely to run out, or at least that they are friends by then.Definitely worth trying!!!! 5 stars!!

As far as I can ever know with any certainty, this plug-in device has appeared to work. My cat had started spraying and urinating at the front door (leading to porch) as well as at the back patio door. There are quite a few cats that use the route from the front of the house, along the side then through the back garden so I presume this had unsettled her somewhat.Anyway since using this device she has stopped this behaviour and just generally seems more relaxed. It simply clips together, plugs into the wall socket and there is helpfully a switch on the device which lights up orange when switched to indicate that it is on.It is entirely odourless and now we are in the habit of only having it on when no-one is at home as she is settled enough when we get back that we don't need to have it on; perhaps the smell lingers enough also. I'm very pleased with this and will certainly be buying refills for it.

I have 4 rescue cats, one of whom is extremely anxious and nervous. Any sudden movement, loud noise or change frightens him. He has calmed down a little, but still gets upset very easily, so I was very interested to see whether this product would make any difference at all for him. It is very easy to use, comes with instructions, and, after inserting the vial into the plus, just plugs into an electrical socket. I found the hardest bit was removing the child-safety cap from the vial, to be honest! It helps to deal with scratching, urinating and fear, according to the makers claims, and is effective 1 hour after switching on. We have had it running for a while now, and have definitely seen a difference in our cat.He is not as jumpy as he was, and seems much more confident and assured, which can only be down to using this product. He is happy, I am happy, and am happy to recommend this.

The effects are exactly what you expect from a catnip-based product - my two cats are rolling around on the floor acting rather stoned. It certainly has chilled them out, and they have stayed in the room where I plugged it in for now then three hours without leaving. It's definitely effective.A note on the design of the plug-in device: I would suggest using it only on vertically-mounted sockets, such as those in walls, rather than extension plugs that lie flat on the floor. This is because the screw-in refill bottle contains liquid that is absorbed up a sponge wick using capillary action; if the plug lies flat, I don't think it will function as intended.Apparently not all cats get high on catnip, but most do. I'd heartily recommend this for any nervous cats - much more effective than butter on the paws!

As others have stated it only comes with a 2 prong plug and I ordered this knowing that as I had some travel adapters laying around. In any case the listing needs to reflect this important bit of information. Funnily enough the packaging had 3 pronged holes to place a UK adapter in it!Onto the actual product, my cat seems to only enjoy the comforts of my room and she gets very skittish in the main living room so I plugged this downstairs in a corner and I noticed a considerable improvement which showed her not bolting back into my room the minute she was done with her food or litter business. So the item definitely works.Just have to be careful of handling the bottle after it's been plugged in as the liquid seemed to seep down it causing my fingertips to have the weird scent smell.

So, unless I've just been really lucky, I've now had 2 of these delivered and both have a UK plug (ordered 7th & 30th Dec 2019).In terms of how well they work, it might just be coincidence but my 2 non-related rescue girls' behaviour has definitely changed over the last few weeks since trying my 1st one. The nervous one is more confident and the dominant one is definitely more tolerant. I actually caught them sitting NEXT to each other in a prime spot 2 days running, which might not sound a lot, but I'm convinced it's helped.I've knocked a star off as the last one I received had leaked a bit as the lid of the vial wasn't on tight enough and the price seems to be ridiculously variable so youneed to shop carefully!

I have to say I was a bit sceptical about this cat calmer but as I had the chance to review it I thought I would give it a go. We have a lovely 11 year old boy who has undergone several life changes over the last year . A house move , a new puppy and his special human; my son has moved out. To say he has been acting up would be an understatement, and frankly who can blame him. He has urinated and pooed where ever he felt like it and spent a lot of nights howling. The vets say he was as in great condition for a cat of his age.So the Felisept arrived I plugged it in. There has been no unwanted soiling and he has howled less . Thank you Felisept for making our cat happy again.

Been saving this to review as I had a house move coming up. Nearly a year or so after it was sent to me for review, I'm in the new gaff and here are my thoughts. It definitely helped.I've used a Feliway before after a break in and that worked well, so was interested to see if this had a similar effect. It worked wonders. The first night my cats were at each other's throats until I plugged this in, then the next day, harmony was restored and the cats were pretty chilled out.I like that it has an on/off switch too which the Feliway didn't. Recommended.

Our house is currently overrun with kittens as our two females had litters not far apart, and our two males are far more relaxed about it than usual - perhaps due to this product? Normally when there is a litter, they hiss at them and generally don't seem overly enamoured...however this time they're sleeping with them, grooming them and being nice to them. I can't say for certain why this is, but this product is currently plugged in and running so maybe it's mellowing them out! On that basis I'd recommend this!

I have 2 cats (aged 4) who have gone through the trauma of moving and also having a new human baby arrive in the house (there was already a child when they arrived). They baby and the move were all in 6 months of each other and it seemed to take its toll on one of the cats who began pooing and weeing in the loft room. I've used this in the room at the other side to where the litter tray is and it has suddenly stopped. I have no idea why but it was within a day or so of this being plugged in.

This does seem to make a difference to our six cats (not sure about our dog). Since installing this just over a week ago in the main room that the cats tend to congregate in, they seem to be calmer. As to using the diffuser, there is a childproof adaptor that you detach from the liquid container. You then attach that to the plug adaptor and make sure it is switched on. Very simple to use.We will be getting another of these when this one has run out.

9.5.2020

So, right off the bat, my product came with a UK plug therefore not requiring an adaptor, might be different batches or early ones that had a 2 prong plug. This really helps calm the 2 cats down that my neighbour has which we let inside the house at times, and they all calm down and just are relaxed. It may seem like a gimmick but It really does cause the cats to be friendly with each other and just act calm and relaxed to a big extent.

15.2.2017

This is very similar to Feliway, apart from the plug in part actually has an on/off switch.Does it work? Hard to say, our cat is generally quite neurotic (and terrified of our 3 year old) but this week he will walk through a room rather than running. Could be a coincidence though - who's to say! It does have a subtle smell but after a couple of days we were used to it and didn't notice anymore.
