As probably the most well known in this space - Pyrex have been producing a range of dishes suitable for the oven for quite some time. These however, take the whole ease of use one step further - being able to snap a lid on and take them for a ride. I took some time to check it out.As you'd probably expect from Pyrex, this is a good quality glass dish, somewhat deeper than some of it's counterparts but also a good size to be able to feed at least at few people from what you cook. It's safe to go in the oven (apart from the plastic lid) and cleans easily, including in the dishwasher. There's an option for a plastic lid to be clipped on, which holds reasonably well though I wouldn't want it knocking around too much in a bag.

This is a small pyrex dish with a leakproof pyrex lid that clips on securely, rather like the clipboxes that have become so popular. The best thing is that this will take a lot of use in a microwave (less fixed lid) whereas the plastic clipboxes tend to distort over time. The same applies to the dishwasher. You can also use the base in a convection oven just as you would any other pyrex dish. It holds 1.1 l and measures 23 x 15 x 6 cm. There are two clips that slide inwards to lock on to the handles on the base. The seal on the lid is silicon and firmly attached with a simple push and the clips for extra security. The upshot is that you can cook with it as well as store food with it in a cupboard,

Freezer, fridge, oven and microwave safe so really use able across the board for whatever use you have in mind. It's Pyrex so we all know the quality will be great and yes I can assure you this is to their normal high standards. The lid is sealed tight so no liquid will escape and trust me I've just tried this. It has two steam vents for when using to cook or reheat in the microwave and can be used with or without its lid.Great for marinading foods or for making meals ahead of time and freezing. Great for left overs, salads, fruits, veggies...... Basically anything you fancy. I can't wait to get the rest and update my pyrex collection. Perfect as a wedding gift or new home gift.

The instructions are not the clearest but I deduce that you can use the dish in the microwave with the lid on as long as the locking clips are not engaged. This reveals 2 holes through which steam can escape. You must not put the lid in the ordinary oven. All of it is dishwasher and freezer safe. None of it can be used on any hob. The lid makes a very good seal but there is a disclaimer in the instructions that says don’t rely on it for transporting liquids.This dish will probably be better than a plastic one over time as it will not distort with repeated use. It is not huge but just the right size for a good adult portion of a meal.

Pyrex have really come up trumps with this design - it's perfect. as I said in the headline, it's been in daily use since I received it for review. The lid seals the dish brilliantly and everything can be used in the microwave and dishwasher (with the seals undone when heating in the microwave). It's great to be able to store leftovers in the fridge and then zap them in the microwave. I'll be getting more in different sizes. I'm trying to cut down on plastic and can see that these containers are a great solution to suing plastic containers which I typically only use up to 10 times before thy become misshapen.

This has the quality and versatility expected from Pyrex, and it's just a matter of selecting the most appropriate purpose for yourself. The large size makes it very suitable for storage, and it holds half a dozen packets of dried fruit comfortably (if you like to keep a mixture). The lid is much less bother than the 'locktite' type, and the food doesn't lose its flavour. Washing up is quick and simple, and I much prefer glass to plastic storage. This size would also be useful for a small (two servings) shepherd's pie, so I may well buy a second one. Very useful.

Excellent little pyrex dish. The glass is exactly as you expect. Quite light given the size of this container is quite small. Enough for a small lunch or 2 potion lasagne.Where this shines is the design. The lid is brilliant. Whilst it's not liquid tight, it forms a slight vacumn seal when placed and the red tabs are closed. When these are open it allows hot food to cool, or be used in a microwave with the lid on.Great for taking food over to a neighbour without having to resort to cling film so eco friendly.

Pyrex is a name you know you can trust, when I started my own home , it was Pyrex I bought. This storage container has a secure lid , it is microwave safe , so left over food can be stored in the fridge and then popped in the microwave. You could also cook something in it as n the oven , then put the lid on it to keep clean and when cool back in the fridge . Easy to clean
