This is the only cat food I buy for my cats now. I have, and have had cats with varied health needs and this food seems to have served them all well, and promoted good health for them.Until last year we had 4 cats, sadly my two old men both passed on last year. They are/were all rescue animals. The 2 that died last year each had their own health problems - one had needed most of his teeth removed due to severe tooth decay that occurred before we adopted him, and also had a very delicate stomach; and the other had a heart murmur and as such also quite a delicate renal system. They were middle aged when we got them, and due to their lives prior to us, and their health problems we were told by the shelter that A)They would require an extremely expensive veterinary specialist diet & B) They would not have a long life expectancy, they predicted - as did our vet when we took them for a check over when we first took them in - that they would only live to about 11-12.Well, the expensive food we were recommended didn't seem to be doing that so much benefit, the one with few teeth often had a very loose tummy, and the other was often on and off the litter tray able to only pass small amounts of urine at a time. While obviously also seeking the vets treatment and advice, I started trying them on different foods to see if anything improved matters.Having tried several with little difference, I happened upon this Purina Pro Plan Delicate cat food when it came on offer in the local pet store.Within the space of a week, the toothless cat was no longer suffering with loose stools, and his breath also improved. The cat with the heart and kidney trouble was finally able to pass urine properly and was no longer on and off the tray. They both seemed livelier and more energetic, and their coats also improved - this was probably through general health improvement rather than the food itself, but they were all noticeable differences. A few months after things had settled down I did try moving across to a cheaper similar food but within 2 weeks the old problems began to appear, so after that we just stuck with this one.A couple of years after adopting those 2, we took in another 2 cats who were kittens at the time. Once they moved onto adult food, I did briefly try them on a cheaper dry food, but they were far more interested in the other cat's bowls that contained the Purina than their own, so I switched them to this also. The male had to have all his teeth removed when he got a serious gum infection and abscess in his mouth and I worried if he would cope with these dry biscuits, but I needn't have worried - it only took him a couple of days to get back on them and he doesn't seem to have any trouble with them. The female will only eat this food. She is an extremely fussy cat, she will not eat anything except these - not treats, not fresh cooked chicken, only this food. All my cats have thrived on this food. The two much-missed old men reached the ages of 16 - just a few weeks shy of 17, and the other had just turned 17. considering the expectancy when we got them they did really well. They were happy and healthy right up to the end and died of old age.The two I still have seem very happy with this food. The male has an impaired sense of smell following the serious illness when he was a kitten, but this food seems to be very appetising and appealing to him. The girl is as fussy as ever, and this is the only food she will accept, the one time there was some kind of supply issue and I was out of this for a week she pretty much refused to eat anything, and she will only eat out of a particular bowl, which has to be placed on the same tile in the bathroom!I highly recommend this food, it is a complete food for adult cats, and the biscuits are good for their teeth (those that have them!). It really seems to promote good health, and appeals to even the fussiest of eaters. The "optirenal" thing does genuinely seem to alleviate some kidney and bladder problems and it is gentle on delicate tummies. As for the humans - it is convenient as it is a complete food for your cats so you can simply measure out a portion of this and don't need to add anything. It comes in different sizes including a generous 3kg size which lasts us 3-4 weeks for 2 small cats, and the bag had a handle on one side, and opens across a corner and is resealable so it is easy to use, pour and store. It doesn't have a strong unpleasant odour like some cats foods do, even some bscuits. Because it is dry food it is easy to clean the bowls after meals, and any spillage is easy to sweep up. It is not the cheapest cat food but in my opinion - and my cats opinions - this is the best food.

Rest glad to discover this product it's been fantastic. My elderly cat used to vomit multiple times after every meal. I tried so many different brands but it just kept happening, and it was getting worse and worse. I'd have so many piles of vomit every day and life was getting very frustrating, I also thought she didn't have a lot of time left in her life. Anyway, I tried this product for the first time three or four months ago, and we have not had one single vomit! Not one. I'm amazed. She is like a new cat, and my house is clean. There isn't as much poo in the litter tray either. She's thriving on it and I'm so happy and grateful. My other cat is also doing very well on this food - she never had vomiting issues but she's doing well on it in other ways - she's a small cat and she's put a nice amount of weight on, not too much but it's given her a lovely shape and people keep saying she's grown. Her coat is shinier. All in all top marks for this food, I only wish I found it sooner. I have it on subscription now, I'll use it forever. Oh it's also been cost effective for me because the vomiting cat is eating less, because she's not constantly hungry now that she can keep it down. It'd be nice if there was other flavours because I do feel a bit mean giving the same thing every meal, and hoping they don't get bored of it. I'd recommend this cat food. 5/5

I'm a cat rescuer and fosterer for a local animal rescue charity and regularly receive a variety of donated pet food from local stores which I mostly distribute to other fosterers. A small amount I keep for myself and this particularly type was one of them and one I thought I'd try on the cats in my care -currently 7 adults. And, quite simply, they all love it. Without doubt it's the single most popular dried cat food I'ever tried on them. They like it so much that, despite the higher than average price, when the donated bags ran out I ordered more from Amazon. Usually i just stick to Go Cat but this is just such good quality and liked by the cats so much I just couldn't deny them it.Highly recommended dried food.Just don't forget to keep a full bowl of water nearby.I should also add that the bag itself is so well designed for pouring that, despite its size, you only end up with the food in the bowl and not all over the floor.

I am so pleased I discovered this product. I adopted a young stray kitten just before xmas who is beautiful, until she developed a "bowel" problem ie very loose stools she could not control, after 4 or 5 trips to the vets with many different diagnosis and too much money spent. They decided she may have a form of colitis, gave me some powder to put on her food to stop the diarrhoea and a free sachet of very expensive food. So I thought id research this and found Pro Plan Delicate, well I've never looked back, touch wood, no more accidents, no more anti diarrhoea powder and thankfully no more expensive vets bills. Oh and another benifit our other older fussy cat loves it too so happy days.Do not hesitate to try this if you have a cat with a problem tummy, think in the long run the money you may save.

My 10 year old cat started throwing up every day a few months ago. Took him to the vets . They tested his blood , did other tests , everything was fine apart from him being older and needing specialFood for sensitive tummy . I paid an absolute fortune at the vets for a small bag of dry cat food and a few teeny tiny cans of wet food (£120, I know , ridiculous) . Came here , read reviews , etc , and bought this food . I continued giving him his usual wet food , either whiskas or felix but changed his usual dry food to this one and he loves it and he hasn’t thrown up since . I mean , he has like like once or twice in months but that’s just normal . It feels pricey but then , it does go a long way ,so it’s not too bad at all. Thing is , my other perfectly healthy cat adores these crunchies too ?

This is the second bag I have bought for my cat who is very fussy and he had gone off the last product I bought but so far he is enjoying this one so I am keeping my fingers crossed as cat food is not cheap especially when you buy a big bag and they change their minds, I guess cat owners have been there at some stage. My cat is approx. 11 years old (rescue cat) and I went for the delicate one as I thought it would be kinder on his digestive system and he seems fine on this so hopefully he will not change his mind too soon!

My cats seem to like it, and so does our neighbours cat apparently cause he keeps coming in and stealing our food!My only issue was that I found it difficult to open the bag despite the "easy opening" with tiny tear where you open it and the resealable strip. In our case it ended up tearing straight through the side of the strip and half the bag, food everywhere! But the cats loved it and one of our cats normally has a sensitive tummy and didn't appear to have any problems with this food, so I would recommend it!

My Selkirk Rex came to me with a delicate stomach, I fed him the food the breeder had given us but it made his tummy upset. I spent almost a year trying different foods, he had antibiotics, I tried starving him for 24 hours, nothing worked. I tried all the sensitive tummy food on the market, nothing helped, I felt so bad for him, he was skinny and his rear was always leaking and sore.I came across this and haven't looked back, he has gained weight and is so much happier in himself. Thank you! Highly recommend.

My cat has very sensitive digestion and can't eat every food and brand. since I started giving him pro plan delicate his sickness and diarrhoea disappeard. I wish it could be a bit cheaper as he eats a lot and needs more food then other domestic cats because of his size ( American Main Coon) but still it doesn't stop me buying this brand. I also exchange it with same brand but" housecat " and Felix pouches... My cat is very happy and satisfied with this product :) I would definitely recomend it!!

The best dry food for cats it contains a lot of nutritions and really healthy these dry food is good for the stomach for the Liver for the kidneys and for indigestion my cats used to be bloated not going to the litter properly the fur used to be oily bright eyes the we used to stink and once I tried a sample of these they had bright eyes silky fur good health more energy and they used to be more full up with this and the poos used to be as it should be you have to try it to believe it

I normally feed the housecat variety and buy on subscribe and save but it was unavailable so I chose this. My two cats are eating it but don't really like it as much, they look at me as if to say "is that it?" then reluctantly eat small amounts at a time. They really do eat the other flavour with enthusiasm. I won't get this again and it will probably end up being used for the farm cats up the road, I'm sure they will enjoy it.

Our elderly Bengal was diagnosed with the onset of Renal failure and prescribed a dried food diet from the vet which she would not touch. Having never been a fan of dried foods we are delighted that she is enjoying the Purina Delicate food - will hopefully enable her to have a slightly longer old age! Many thanks, cannot recommend enough!PS our other cat loves it too - and they are both notoriously fussy eaters!

25.1.2015

Good brand, cheaper than other places - package came fine. Good type of food for troubled tummies and inflamed bowels - our cat's tummy has been taking it well and it has helped him digest food without getting sick. It was recommended by the vet, but I bought it even before knowing that, as ProPlan is a great brand and the delicate range could mean a less inflamed digestive system.

11.7.2018

We have six cats and normally we'd never consider Pro Plan because we thought it was the same as the junk you buy in the supermarket. Tried my latest rescue cat on our usual Royal Canin dried food and she won't touch it. We were at our wits end and our vet suggested this and it's all she'll eat. We joke and say it's like cat crack - all six now go mental for it! Brilliant stuff.

3.1.2014

I have tried many cat foods for our family and none has agreed with all of them. A couple have sensitive stomachs and this food has proved a hit both with them, in taste, and me, in no longer having to clean up vomit. It's kind on their stomachs and they love it. Wouldn't go back to any other dried food for my regular buy.
