These are the best eyelet pliers I've ever used (and I've used a bunch), they are sharp and require very little effort to cut holes in anything I've tried. They require very little effort compared to others, and you don't even need to squeeze hard at all most the time, which saves strain on your hand over long sessions. The interchangeable metal cutters are very sharp and you'll get a replacement cutting head in the same brand eyelets so it should in theory always have a nice sharp cutting surface. The handles are a soft purplish rubberish plastic and are fairly long, allowing you leverage and making them comfortable to use.Like I said, the tools by themselves come with just the punching heads,as the Prym range's eyelets come with their own specially made set of eyelet tools in every pack of eyelets. Which does mean if you are intending to use this tool for other branded eyelets you'll need to buy a Pyrm pack first in the appropriate size to get the pressing heads. The Prym eyelets are great quality and are also probably the best eyelets I've used, though can be a bit more expensive than other eyelets, maybe because of the cutting heads. But. This does mean that you can use a huge range of cutters and pressing heads, rather than be limited to what the tool itself has. This also means that if you break or damage one of the heads, or it becomes blunt (which does happen fairly often with cheaper tools) you can easily replace parts without buying a whole new tool.As for downsides there aren't really anything that sticks out, it's solid in construction and doesn't seem like it will be breaking any time soon, works well and does what it's intended.

Very handy indeed with its good grip & sturdy finish. Our only bone of contention is that item still requires separate purchases of additional tool bits to fulfill the roles of eyelets & press fastners! With this in mind, costs for moderate spenders maybe an issue. To make clear, this tool alone will only pierce 3 & 4mm holes, as these are the only tool bits that are supplied!3 & 4mm tool bit replacement pack however, does come with an 8mm tool piercing bit! After all been said, still a good home, light craftwork investment.

These are really easy to use. Although they do not work with or there is not an attachment for 11mm+ eyelets, which is what I wanted to use, nevertheless, I will just have to buy the 8mm eyelets. Again as there is so much range at prym, it's actually quite hard to find the exact eyelets that I have been looking for, as my local haberdashery only provide the small eyelets and snaps. I have seen some on-line though. Very handy but slightly disappointed.

Great value for money. Tools you get with pliers are for cutting out 3 or 4 mm holes. If you want to insert fasteners, eyelets, rivets etc you need additional tools which should come with the product you want to insert except for colour snap fasteners (need to buy Prym colour snaps tool). I have used them with colour snaps and eyelets. Would recommend this product.

These are very sturdy and work really well. However the spare plugs are really hard to get into the pliers when you want to replace them. They don’t fit in the holes. Need a hammer. Need to use 2 pairs if u use them a lot as the plastic fittings wear away and loosen very quickly. And the metal fittings fall out when you try and cut holes or secure the eyelet.

they do work totally diffrent to using a hammer tho i got these because all the prym little packets i keep getting the plastic thingy u hammer on kept breaking on me but the little parts fit on the pliers fine so the more little packets i buy the more parts i will have for it just need a little plastic box to put all the bits in together

I bought this because I PAT test electrical items while out on a van. The major cause of failure is the plug not being wired properly. I can use this one tool to unscrew, cut wires, trim plastic insulation and prise out fuses. It is not that easy to use as much is packed into a small space but it gets the job done.

A good quality tool. However, the reason I bought it was to fit some jeans buttons. I bought. This device doesn't come with a suitable holder for them so I ordered the Prym Jeans buttons as well because it looks like those come with a plastic holder for the buttons. There are no instructions on how to use the tool.

This product works perfectly for cutting through fabric, I was making a corset and it cut through duchess satin really well, and inserted eyelets nicely. It’s a shame you have to buy the Prym eyelets only because they’re the only ones that work and they’re a bit pricey, but it’s well worth it! ???

Had to buy the pliers just to get the punching tool which is essential but not included in the Prym kit. This item was a good price but would suggest that Prym sell the punching tool on its own as well or include one in the very expensive kit box.

Arrived quickly and before delivery date. Easy to use but after reading the reviews I realised I needed to buy the tool kit as well. I ordered the pliers, tool kit and press studs which all arrived together so was able to use it straight away.

26.6.2018

Used it to replace press studs on classic car soft top. Much better than the "hit it with a hammer" type sold by many classic car parts outlets. So easy to fix poppers with hood in situ without risk of damaging hood or bodywork.

25.2.2017

Really easy to use, worth a quick practice on an old rag though, used with kit of poppers to put an extra one on a motorcycle jacket as the wind went up the sleeve due to being a bit loose .... now spot on

Hard to use at first, when you have to push the different heads out of the tool. But otherwise does the job amazingly so much better using this tool rather then punching holes and hammering eyelets by hand

12.6.2018

Essential tool for inserting the PRYM plastic poppers. Makes the holes and pops them in. (I bought two, so that I can be making holes and popping in without continually changing the "head" bit)
