It's well made and will probably survive me.It's confortable to train with and feels good in my hand.I'm a rock climber and after a longer pause the thing that's holding me back from climbing harder routes mostly is grip strength.I was also experiencing some problems and pain in my middle fingers which didn't get better using a powerball, working the opposing muscles with rubber bands or various other exercises. However since I'm using the medium tension gripmaster it somehow vanished... I hope it stays that way.So I use the medium tension one (I also own the 2 stronger ones) for rehab; If you have no problems with your fingers, are already confortable with holding on to fingertip ledges in steep overhanging walls and want mostly to train grip strength I recommend the heavy tension gripmaster.I actually wrote this review because of a very recent experince. 2 weeks ago my right middle finger started to ache a little with almost every bend or grip so I didn't climb for 2 weeks but trained daily about 5-10 minutes with the gripmaster. The result was, like I already mentioned, that the pain has gone and when I went climbing again yesterday I even could climb a route with small holds more easily than before this little break. So guess that it also really can improve grip strenght. The only thing I'm not happy about is, that it comes completly without any instructions on how to use properly and exercise variations. You have visit prohands website for these informations. I could imagine that most people who get this would just close and open it but it's recomended to hold it closed for a while and then open it up again and since I'm more interested in longer, static "pressure" (holding on to holds) I first quickly warm up like recomended and then just keep it closed as long as I can a couple of times and this really seems to be working for me.

Playing drums for years then beginning to learn piano has highlighted the fact that my left wrist is not as strong as my right. I already use a Powerball Gyro, but I needed something with portability. this device is great because I can use it in my jacket pocket while on the go!Apparently it is better to use one that is not too heavy as several lighter motions are better, I would agree with this, it is the same for leg muscles on a bicycle. My wrist strength is average and this 7lb version is just right for me. I would recommend this device without reservation and the same goes for the seller in this case, take a bow 'soundunlimited'.

Following an injury while climbing, i decided to buy a pro hands medium exerciser as means of physiotherapy. Actually i bought both the medium and the heavy tension so that i could use the latter for further training after my hand was ok . Both exercisers work fine, no squeaking etc and you can find about 11 exercises in their website depending on your sport and the muscles you want to train. i find myself using the medium exerciser more, since i do more repetitions and i keep it flexed for sets of 10sec sth that i cannot easily do with the heavy tension one.all in all the product is as described and met expectations

A super device for strengthening and exercising fingers individually or collectively. Well designed and well made. There are several exercises and grips which benefit different parts of the hand and arm, which are well described on a 2 page sheet. This would have been a 5 star review if that information had been included with the product, instead of having to be downloaded off the web.

Excellent for guitar players, sax players and the like, I have recommened it to my friends, starting to rust up and get stiff now (after about two years) but it has traveled about busking with me and I live by the coast, I would buy the one with less tension next time as I am looking for dexterity rather than strength.

Following a injury to my arm i needed something i could use to add strength/flexibility whilst at work, watching tv or sat on the train. This ticked all the boxes and you can vary it up with single flexes or full.My physio actually recommended this to me so it comes with that added reassurance!

The item corresponds fully to its name,Hand and Finger Exerciser! As a musician (Bouzouki player), even after using it for only 20 days, I can observe easier and faster movement of the fingers.I am going to buy one for a friend, it's GREAT!

Briliant liitle effective gadget. Bought it for my neice as she does indoor climbing and wanted to improve her grip and hand strength. Its certainly done that... so much so, wil have to get the next one up soon, with harder tension.Great!!

Bought to practice fingers to play piano, probably the light tension would be better for me, medium tension is a little bit harder than I’ve thought it would. I’m using it anyway it’s just harder to practice, for me. Works great

I find Medium Tension is the good choice for me at the moment. It's not very tough but multiple repetitions are better than straining the hand. The main feature is that each finger can be trained individually.

I also bought an extra heavy.I can now crush apples and have forearms like pop eyeWhich is niceI think most of my gains could be explained by my obsessive rock climbing tho.

I bought this to try and help strengthen my grip. I love the design and it's so easy to use. It's also easy to see which fingers are stronger as each as their own point.

Advised to purchase by physiotherapist after fracturing the radial head of my elbow to increase the strength of my hand. Proved an easy to use and effective exercise.

Well built and thought over. Great exerciser, but perhaps would benefit from adjustable resistance option. Also the rubber bits get quite slippery as you work out.

a good alternative to the normal hand grips you see. medium should be fine for most people especially if you are trying the different exercises from the website
