What the other reviewers have mentioned about the waistband is absolutely true. I have an older version of these pants that I bought years ago, and the internal elastic waistband is somehow sewn in/attached to the pants themselves, so although it can stretch, it's not some kind of free-floating piece of elastic that can flip around and get twisted up the way it can on the current version. That is unfortunate, because they are generally great pants. A little thicker material than you might want generally want in the summer, but since I'm using it for outside work, it's great to have a tougher material that doesn't get shredded by thorns or snagged up on branches. And it wears well--I've had some of these pants for years.

I am 5'5", 115 lbs, 29 waist, 34.5 hips, I wear an XS (which is my typical size in pants). These are my absolute most favorite pants ever. I got the charcoal a few years ago. Last year I got the Lemon and Tomato. This year I just got the Turquoise. I'm working my way up to every color ;-) The material is awesome- it is slightly stiff at first but is that type of material that gets softer and better with wear. The articulated knees work perfectly. I am very picky about needing my pants to move freely with no restrictions and these meet that requirement. The drawstring waist is also perfect so no gap in the waist. The jersey waistband is supremely comfortable. I really can't say enough about these pants.

I love the avail pants. PrAna makes great quality clothing and this is no different. I use these mostly for hiking trips. They allow free movement and the waist band is so comfortable (it also has a drawstring to handle back gap). They do tend to run long, but I find I can use the cinch toggles to snug it up and then fold it over like a regular hem. Looks just fine and keeps scratchy things off my legs and out of my shoes. Love the assortment of colors too. Only drawback for some folks would be that it's made from cotton rather than nylon which dries much quicker in those situations while hiking. Not an issue for me as I find these far more comfortable and more figure forgiving than nylon.

I LOVE these pants. They pull on easily, stay on, and are super comfortable. They are kind of scrub-style with cute details and super flattering. They are my go to bouldering pants!I am 5'8, 130 lbs, and I usually wear a 2 or 4 tall length in prAna pants. I went with the small, and they are a touch baggy, but in a cute way. They are long enough for me as well even though they are not specifically a "long" length pant. You shorties might find them to be way too long, but the cuff cinches at the ankle so you don't have pants under your feet while climbing or walking or whatever.As these go on sale, I will probably buy them in every color :)

These are super comfortable -- long enough (I'm 5'10") and a great color. And the waist has elastic (as well as a drawstring) that works really well for me -- it's not super tight but not super loose either, not too stiff or too soft, and sits comfortably below the belly button. These are just so much more comfortable than jeans for me -- which if they stay up on me end up feeling too tight on the waist - especially for some reason when I'm sitting in a car....It's been unusually warm this fall/winter so I've found that I've worn these a lot more than I thought I would. I highly recommend.

If you are between a size 8 through 12 a medium will fit. I have gained weight and I know these will fit when I lose weight. Elastic band comfortable. Needed something without button while trying to lose weight. These pants are not a waste of money if your between sizes. I would say under a size 8 then you would take a small. Im more top heavy but I’m currently a size 10/12 and a medium fit. They would work if I was a size 8 as well favorite casual pant. I’m 5’6 so I did not order a tall and length is perfect

I love these pants! I am I between sizes so I ordered down thinking they would be a super baggy fit. Not a good idea! The small fit too small even though there is a fair amount of stretch. So I ordered the medium and they are perfect! They have that loose fit look and the length is perfect! I'm 5'7" 155lbs. I wear between 6-8.

These are fantastic pants! They're very comfortable with just enough stretch in the fabric without losing the toughness. I can see them holding up really well against rock. And it has cuff cinches!I ordered by Prana's size chart and my measurements, but a medium was too loose. I'm 5'5", 145 lbs, waist 29.5, hips 39.5.

These are my new favorite pants. I love that I can where them out and about walking in the city (NYC) and then go to yoga without having to change. The fabric stretches enough that they are great for yoga and I can then run errands without being in skin tight yoga pants. I wish I had found these earlier!

These pants are very comfortable, allow good range of motion for climbing and are a good fit. I ordered a small, first as I am usually 4/small in Prana. The XS are closer to my size than the very roomy smalls. Prana is notorious for inconsistent sizes. I am 5'4", 118-120#. I would recommend these pants.

These are really cute and comfy. Runs a little large. I am 5'4" and weigh 115. The XS fits well. I have to say that I'm not crazy about the design on the pocket. Would prefer not to have this detail as it looks kind of "hippie" which is not my style. If it weren't for that I'd buy several more pair.

Very please so far. I am returning the PrAna Drew pant after trying these on. These have more stretch and are much more fitted to my body. The fabric and elastic waist band don't feel cheap like the Drew and fit great! Ended up buying another pair of these and the Avril shorts as well!

LOOOOOVE these pants! So cute and very comfortable!They were too long on me at first, but after a few times washing and drying they actually shrunk to be perfect length. Which may be bad for someone taller, you may not want to dry... Because they do shrink!

First of all, I love the color! Secondly they are super comfy, so comfy that I got a second pair in a darker color to wear to work, coupled with a dark untucked polo, nobody knows I'm wearing something so casual with a sweatpants style waistband!

I could live in these pants. They allow me to move unencumbered up climbing walls and are comfy hiking pants. I like the toggle feature at the hem, make me feel like a legit climber. I'm 5'9, 126lbs and bought a size small.
