This is a review of Poweradd Slim2 5000mAh Portable Charger Power Bank. There is no dedicated model number for this product, it is just called Poweradd Slim2.Main specifications:• Battery type: Lithium-ion.• Capacity: 5000mAh/18.5Wh.• Input: Micro USB; 5V/2A. Full recharge in 3 hours with 2A charger.• Output: 1xUSB; 5V/2.1A.• 4 LEDs for displaying charge level. No flashlight.• Dimensions: 99.8 x 32.3 x 30.5 mm.• Weight: 124 grams (my kitchen scale almost agrees with 126 grams).• Safety: Built-in multiple protection system (unspecified). In the package:As usual for this type of products the Poweradd Slim2 comes in a cardboard packaging containing the bare minimum – quick manual,a Poweradd support flyer and a short USB to MicroUSB cable for charging the power bank and compatible devices. The product itself:The Slim2 is made of a combination of both metal and plastic. The black colored parts are metal while the rest is plastic. I like the material and the power bank feels very well made, it will surely last. As for the features there is a 2A MicroUSB input, 1x 2.1A USB output, 4 LEDs for charge level and an on-off button. There is no flashlight in this product. Sizing is adequate for a 5000mAh capacity and weight comes up at 126 grams according to my scale. In use:I had no issues while using the power bank and I’ve got 5 of these when there was a sale not long time ago. I like to have an 2A input which shortens the time for recharging compared to some ancient power banks which still have only 1A (and most cheap products as well). Output is 2.1A which is about what all modern devices are using nowadays with the exception of those supporting Qualcomm Quick Charge 2.0/3.0. Some are offering 2.4A, but none of my devices use that much. All of them top at 2A or less so I'm unsure if having 2.4A with only one port makes much sense. Conclusion:This is a good portable power bank which works as it should. Product specifications are exactly what they are supposed to be for a product in this class. There are almost no portable chargers of this size which do support Quick Charge so I am not expecting this one to support this standard – but for example Aukey has recently released one such device which also comes at 5000mAh capacity, has QC 3.0, but costs… yeah, £17. So build quality is good, specifications are what they should be and the only thing someone might miss is the flashlight. Excellent product. Current price is acceptable for a well known brand, but I got it for 3 points less so it was a great deal back then.

This charges pretty quickly and seems quite robust. I brought it to replace my EE powerbar which I never returned during the recall. I had noticed my EE powerbar getting quite hot while it was being used and was worrying about it so brought this as it was at a really good price. This device came in a nice little snug box with the brand name written on it and the cable included. It's the same length as my powerbar was however it does feel considerably thicker and a bit heavier which was slightly disappointing. Length wise it is the same height as the iPhone 6s touch screen (it is 10cm (4inches) high. Width wise it is about 3cm (about 1.25 inches). It is a hexagon shape throughout and has a USB and a micro USB port at the top.At the base it has the device information such as model name, number, battery type, capacity and input and output information. It has a small button at the side which is used to turn the device on. This device is definately heavier than I expected. At a guess I would say it's twice as heavy as my iPhone 6s. Whilst charging the device or while using it to charge my phone it stays a constant temperature and doesn't get hot at all. It had remained at room temperature however long I use it which is very reassuring to know.It comes supplied with the micro usb cable so you can charge the powerbar from a USB port on a computer or can plug it into the adaptor that comes with your phone (I.e. An iPhone adaptor). It has 4 blue lights at the top, each light appears to represent about 25% of the remaining battery life. Whilst charging the solid lights will show you how much capacity is in the charger and the flashing lights tells you what stage of the charging process it's at.When it arrived it was about 50% charged so I could have started using it right away. However as I was at home I figured I might as well completely charge the device so I can have it in my bag ready for when I need it. From my usage so far it appears to charge my phone well and has certainly extended my range of battery life if I happen to be away from a source of electrical power. This will be very useful when I go camping in the summer and from my estimation of the usage so far I think I will get about an extra 150% battery life to my iPhone 6s from this device or an extra 300% battery life to my iPod nano.If you found this review helpful, please click on the “Yes” button below.

Great Pocket Powerbank/Charger which came in a well presented/packaged box containing a manual, the Powerbank, mini USB cable.I ordered the light green powerbank due to colour preference and went with my phone at time of purchase.Performance:Takes me 3 hours to charge to full from empty via USB on my laptop.Takes me 2.5 hours to charge using a wall socket to full capacity. I think it is limited to 2A charging so hefty chargers may not work as intended.Charges my phone and smartwatch with ease.30 mins for my smartwatch from 5% to full..2 hours approx for my phone from 0% capacity. However, I do not use the PowerB for this intention, it is to charge my phone when it drops to 20% so I can continue to use it until I get home.Gets me to 50% with one LED (25% PB) used up.(P.S Dont forget, all depends on your phone's battery capacity, so one case does not provide a true reflection, but tried to give a general indication)Practical Use:Nice and compact so I have sometimes used it while in my pocket. Fits my side jeans pocket or coat/jacket pocket without issues.Mainly stored in my bag when out/commuting to work. One USB port, ideal for charging only one device at a time.LED lights luminate when active and shows 4 segments for power/battery remaining of PB.Simple on/off button on top section.Used with the original USB wire (20 cm) and longer 1.2m USB wire.Customer Service:Great customer service, I did have an issue after 3 months of use, where the PB would stop charging after 50%. I contacted Poweradd directly who issued a replacement PB in the same colour when I explained the issue. This PB has been working for 6 months faultlessly and is great value for money.Recommended.Want a compact, handy charger for on the go in a variety of colours?Only need to charge one device at a time?Buy the Poweradd Slim 2 PB and you will never need to worry about making sure you have over 80% battery to last the day.It will keep your device (phone/smartwatch) lasting without an issue.Used with an Android Lollipop Huawei P9 Lite.Let me know if this review was helpful.

UPDATE 3:Poweradd support were determined to try and make things right so they also sent me another unit to try. This replacement unit performed almost identically to the first in terms of capacity (it had 2402mAh).Given the determination of Poweradd to make things right and standing firmly behind their product I have increased the star rating to 4 stars to reflect the great level of customer service that they have demonstrated.UPDATE 2:I was offered a replacement or refund from customer service and I opted for a refund, so well done PowerAdd standing behind their product. I have since purchased a Anker PowerCore 5000,which I measured a discharge capacity of 3393mAh which is more in line of what I would expect from a 5000mAh powerbank.UPDATE:After contacting "support" and following their "advice" of trying different cables, charging ports etc etc I measured the actual discharge capacity of this unit using a Portapow USB Monitor and discovered that this unit only delivers 2326mAh from fully-charged to fully-depleted. So less than half of its advertised capacity; in fact my Anker 3200mAh unit has more capacity than this 5000mAh one!!!_______________________________I have had this item for a week now. It appears, outwardly at least, to be well built. Functionally, it also seems to work safely but I am having an issue with capacity.I wanted something with more capacity than my previous 3200mah powerbank as I had upgraded to an iPhone 6S Plus with a much larger battery capacity. However, after using it a few times I cannot get this power bank to give me a full charge on my iPhone. I understand that the 5000mah rating is at 3.7v and when in use it is outputting at 5v (so approx. 3700 mah at 5v?) and then even factoring in an ineffecieny of 20% that should still give around 2950mah which should be enough for my iPhone 6S Plus but it only charges up to around 90%ish.Other than the capacity though (which is what I purchased it for), it does seem to be an OK product; it came nicely packed.

I recently purchased 3 slimline powerbanks, a bit like this one. One to stick to the back of each of my wall mounted guitars so I could have some subtle usb LED strips lighting them up at night. The powerbanks were £2 cheaper each than these. That turned out to be a mistake, all 3 would not work as per instruction and all 3 failed to work all together for some reason. So I learnt my lesson and this time I purchased one a bit more expensive, this one. I thought I would buy one then buy more later. The powerbank arrived quickly and is much larger than the other ones and only just fits behind my guitar but the increase in size means more power to enjoy the lights for longer. The powerbank charged very quickly and has a handy blue indicator on top to let you know how full the battery is.Mine has been slowly fading usb led lights for several hours on the back of my guitar and the indicator still has 75% battery life. There is a button on the side, if you press it, you get a display of the battery life left inside.I stuck the battery pack on the back of the guitar with Velcro so I can take it off to recharge it or I can run an usb charging lead to it on the wall. The unit is not as light as the previous ones I purchased but it has a bigger battery so more power, more power means bigger batteries means more weight. So overall I am happy with it, especially for what I want to use it for.The unit looks extremely durable, it really does, much better than the ones that did not work. I have purchased many many powerbanks for years and this is up there with the most durable expensive ones I have purchased.Overall very happy with this unit and now it’s time to light up the other 2 guitars!

Please see my photo showing this item in my hand if you're concerned by size (my hands are average-small sized if it helps!). The charger measures 10cm in length and approx 3.2cm in width. This is a fantastic rechargeable portable charger for your smart phone or tablet. I am using this on the Samsung Galaxy S6 and it will recharge my phone 1.5 times comfortably from virtually zero charge on the phone and I think I could probably get just under two full charges from it but don't like to let it drain completely before recharging it. I travel around quite a lot for work and was constantly suffering from a dead battery by the time I was on my hour and 45 minutes train journey home, since having this I haven't had my phone die on me once! It's great not to have to worry anymore about overusing the more power-hungry features of my phone whilst on a long day out and about just in case my battery dies.I've used it for a weekend away too and chose to take this instead of my actual phone charger as it meant I could carry the charger around with me if I was using the video camera and camera a lot. It's very portable and will fit in your pocket/camera bag/bag comfortably as it isn't too heavy. It's a very simple USB connection and I've also used it on my iPad without problems - don't know how I would survive without this now! Also, if you get close to zero with your battery I've not had any problem with quickly plugging this in and continuing to use my phone while it charges. It comes with some charge already on it so you can test it out straight away.

Bought this in June and used about 3 times. It is now completely dead and I can't find how to contact anybody regarding it.It's a shame as it's small and lightweight and, if it worked, would be perfect for what I bought it for!Update September 2016: the company saw this review, made contact and sent me out a replacement so all kudos to them for that. It only arrived yesterday but credit where it's due, they didn't just ignore me and seem keen to please. I've used the new item once and will use it a bit more before possibly updating my review - it has to last another 3 weeks first!Update mid-October 2016: the company have continued to email me regarding the replacement to check it is OK and I have to say that,so far, yes it is. It is currently working exactly as I hoped; small enough to fit in your pocket and able to give that necessary boost to your phone when needed. I've been using it fairly regularly as it is just so handy and portable. However, there are a lot of other reviews that state this device has died a few months in so I have only raised the review to 3 stars for now (though Poweradd Customer support is a 5 star really as they have really followed this up and made sure I am happy with the replacement).Update December 2016: the replacement continues to work flawlessly and is used almost daily for charging my phone while I'm in front of the TV (I know sad I can;'t be parted even then). Upped my review to 4 stars as a result of its continued usability.

This worked ok for a few months, and I am able to get a bit less than 2 charges for my phone. After some time I started having problems charging (it would charge only if I moved the input cable in some positions). I tried with other cables but the problem seemed to be with the internal micro-usb connector, so I started holding the cable in a fixed position with a rubber band to make it work. After a couple of months like that, I unplugged my cable and the usb connector got loose inside the device, looking at the hole it seems that the connector is only held by some soldering and the solder points got loose.I'm seeing a lot of similar people reporting "it stopped charging" or "it only charges for a couple of seconds and goes off" that I'm quite sure are from the same cause: bad quality soldering and not enough mechanical support for the connector, which results on it getting broken with just normal usage.Edit: After posting this review I was promptly contacted by Poweradd and they asked for details (I sent them pictures of the damaged conector) and they offered to send a new charger free of charge, so the customer service seems to be quite responsive. I've used it for a few months with no problem, but always making sure to not leave the cable plugged in the input port when not using it (to avoid damaging the port), so I'm putting it back into 4 stars

This little powerhouse is perfect for those times when you need to charge your phone or tablet but do not have access to a mains charger, i bought mine to use on extended fishing trips, i charged it fully using my Ipad charger as soon as it arrived and then used it to charge my wifes iphone 5 and then my Iphone 6S which it did perfectly, this resulted in my being awarded extra brownie points and the disappearance of the charger into my wifes handbag, so another was bought for myself, this was fine until our daughter spied it and wanted one so i purchased another in the hope that mine would remain mineGiven it's small size it packs quite a lot of power and it will charge two Iphones from empty before needing to be recharged itself, this take a few hours and is indicated by the four led lights that show the percentage of charge, when it has charged the phone / tablet it automatically stops and the led's go out to indicate that the device is chargedthe fact that i have bought three of them is an indication of how highly i rate this and i would recommend it without hesitation to anyone who has need to charge a device on the goUPDATE......After family and friends have seen these they have asked me to get one for them and so far i have bought six and they are all extremely pleased with them

I've been playing pokemon go constantly which uses up my battery on my iphone 6s really quickly. With this battery pack I can get my phone battery from 10% back up to 95% in about half an hour, and then when my phone gets low just repeat the process 3 times in total. Alternatively I've attached the pack to my phone and left it plugged in and my phone stays full battery for around 5 hours. My girlfried does exactly the same and both of the batteries we have bought exceeded our expectations. We have just ordered a 3rd battery pack so that we always have one ready to go and at the price they are it seemed a no brainer. The pack itself takes about 1 hour to fully charge when plugged into a wall socket. This product doesn't come with the cable to connect to your phone/ipad/...So you'll need to purchase a cable specific to your device, I bought an amazon basics 6" cable so I can hold the battery with the phone comfortable. If you're after a very simple way of keeping your deviced charged, BUY THIS PRODUCT.

We bought this in case we needed backup power for my partners phone as she uses her phone primarily to take photos and videos. Although she had use the charger no more than a dozen times, whilst on holiday in June it just sat there flashing 1 blue light and refused to charge. We tried plugging in to a laptop as well as the wall charger and then tried a different cable but to no avail. It looks the business and appears nicely made but does not do what it says on the box. Very disappointing as a previous one lasted several years before giving up the ghost.Update as of 12th July 2019 - we contacted customer service and their response was quick and helpful. They asked us to try a few things and said they would send a replacement if their suggestions did not work. To our surprise the power bank recharged ok and we've used it several times since without any problems.Impressively good customer service and now the bank is working as it should - we are happy customers.

Every smart phone owner NEEDS a gadget like one of these - to guarantee that they'll have enough battery in their phone to make it to the end of the day. This model looks very smart and couldn't be easier to use. Plug it into a USB power source (PC, phone charger etc), charge it up (takes a few hours) and then pop it and a phone cable into your pocket. Four nice blue LED's tell you how much power is left. There seems to be enough capacity to charge an iphone at least two times. This unit is slightly bigger than I imagined it to be. I think some of the reviews have likened it to tube of lipstick. Bl@@dy big lipstick is what I'd say to that!! It's actually about 3cm across and 10cm long - still small enough to fit into a pocket, but you might get some strange looks if you're wearing skinny jeans! There are smaller portable chargers out there, but they are likely to have a lower capacity. You pays your money and takes your choice...

I've had it around a month and it's performing well so far. Takes a few hours to charge fully but the flashing lights that light up (4 in total) that show how much charge it has left is very helpful. Also pressing the button allows you to know how much charge is left at any time. Once fully charged I think it has around enough charge to charge my iphone 6 maybe for around 2 complete battery cycles. The only question mark I have is how long will it keep this performance up? The last portable charger I had (not this brand/model) started to lose its charge gradually until basically it lost its charge straight away after fully charging it.Fingers crossed this one will keep charging up and its life will not shorten so I can keep getting the roughly 2 complete battery cycles when its fully charged and keep charging it full and then using it a couple of days later, for example, and it still has 4 lights and its got full power still.

I bought this battery after my friend recommended it to me. He's had one of these for ages, and they still worked perfectly fine. I carried this everywhere with me, the charging speed and charge capacity were fantastic. It managed to charge my phone in an hour (max). The make is really good, the slim and minimalistic design feels comfortable in the hand. The only problem I have with it, is quite a big one. The battery worked perfectly for the first month, and then just suddenly stopped working. The LEDs wouldnt display any light, it wouldnt charge or anything. The two stars are due to this, if this had not happened, then I believe this battery would deserve a 5/5.EDIT: The customer service contacted me and offered a free replacement. The replacement arrived quite fast, and is working perfectly! I will keep you updated, with how the replacement fares. The customer support is just fantastic, may I add!

This is the 2nd charger of this type I have purchased, very happy with the 1st. Lightweight & compact, charges iphone fast, within 2 hours. However this 2nd charger I bought the input port disappeared into the housing on first connection this was approx 6 months ago.I know I should have returned it straight away, but the cost for return carriage was more than the charger cost because it was deemed hazardous. So it sat in the cupboard until I decided to ‘chat ‘ with Amazon, I explained the fault as above, they were most unhelpful & didn't want to know, not even offering a credit, this item was not fit for purpose. So I contacted Poweradd ,they couldn’t have been more helpful & they sent a new charger out to me without the need for return. It appears that there are a few faulty chargers, but their customer service, unlike amazon, is very good, & they will resolve any issues.
