I nearly didn't buy this as I read a review somewhere that it is the same sword hole that makes the pirate pop up every time. That is incorrect, the instructions tell you to rotate the pirate which moves the internal mechanism so it is a different hole to make the pirate pop. Our little one loves playing it and it is exactly as I remembered it from years ago. Yes, the plastics probably have got thinner etc but hasn't everything nowadays.For a good bit of family fun I would recommend it!

The good thing about this game is that it hasn't been modified or tweaked from when it was around years ago. You can just get it out of the box, pop the pirate in and your playing within seconds. No lengthy setting up like some other games. We bought it for our Nephew and he loves it, so much so that whenever we go around to their house we know we're in for loads of games of 'Pirate' (said like a pirate of course haha).

Well this was a game I remembered when I was a child and still they have this pop up pirate! I decided to get this for my daughter and she was very happy loves the game and plays with it a lot nowadays. It’s fun to play and very easy to play. My daughter and her friends and cousins also joined in the fun and they pretty much enjoyed the time with pop up pirate. Worth buying. Would Defo recommend.

Great fun little game for all ages. Very happy to have purchased this during a promotional period although I'd have bought it anyway. The suspense can get a little intense for my granddaughter, she'll hide behind me when it's my turn! My only gripe is that the barrel itself could do with either suction cups or grippy rubber underneath as you have to hold it while inserting the swords.

Bought for grandchildren ages 5 and 7. This pirate is great fun and we had loads of laughs with it. It's easy to use, doesn't need batteries and no matter what your age you can join in because no-one can gain an advantage. Only small negative point is that the instructions tell you to screw the pirate into the barrel, but you really just need to place him in there. Highly recommended.

Although I bought this for 2 kids - 2 and 3 years, their older sister 12 also enjoyed playing with them. Was slightly too old for the youngest, but nonetheless within a few months I think he will be enjoying it too. Easy to use, simple instructions, great fun. A really good first game to introduce your children to the concept of games, taking turns and playing with others.

This was just as I remembered as a child. Got it for a friends children to play, and they loved it! Very simple to play, just make sure you don’t twist the pirate after the first sword goes in, as this can change the trigger to one of the holes that has already been used, meaning the pirate won’t pop. Other than that no problems at all.

Great game for our 3 year old grandson. So easy to get out box, set up and play. Very quick to play so easy to play as many games as they want. Learn how to win - and lose - as you never know which sword will release the pirate. We've had the 3rd sword and we've had where all swords but one have been used. Made us all laugh. Recommended.

Bought one of these years ago for my kids, this time I bought it for my grandson, aged 4. He loved it and had a great time playing it. It's the same as it was years ago, only now its slightly more flimsy and I wonder how long it will last. But saying that, he will probably move on to something else before it finally gives up the ghost.

I wanted to buy this for my son as I remember enjoying this as a child. After searching all over and finding cheap versions for more money I found it at Argos for the best price I'd seen anywhere else. We've really enjoyed playing Pop up Pirate and I think we will get many years of use from it (even without kids joining in!)

We wanted a classic game for our toddler. It does get boring pretty quickly, but keeps the kids entertained for a short period of time. The product itself is well built but the box is annoyingly bigger than necessary for storage. Why the design hasn't been revamped with a built in storage drawer for the swords is beyond me.

I brought this for my two year son who absolutely loves it. The first one we bought only worked for the first two games then the pirate wouldn't pop up anymore so I sent it back to the shop and got another one, which has lasted longer. The design could be better but is a fun game and my toddler asks to play it all the time

I remembered having this game when I was a child so decided to buy it for my 3 year old son. He absolutely loves it, he finds it really funny when the pirate pops up! I’m not going to lie...I’ve also loved playing it too! We’ve spend hours playing this game during the lockdown. The home delivery service was fabulous too!

This game was purchased for my three year old daughter. It s simple to set up and most games last 8 - 10 minutes which is perfect for her attention span.It s a family favourite and quite honestly we play 3 or 4 games at any one tume.The key pieces are suitable for little fingers and i would highly recommend this toy.

Got this for my 3 year old for Christmas he understood what to do very quickly and giggled everytime the pirate pops up. So good that I brought it for my godson aged 2.5years old and was told he got hiccups because he laughed at the pirate popping so much. Very happy to get something fun at such a low price.
