When it comes to black out curtains I was looking for three things, decent quality, easy to hang and something that did the job well. These deliver.My mum's bedroom faces East so the light from the sun rising can be a problem for her. Being in her 80's she doesn't want a curtain that's super thick and heavy but she doesn't want to be woken up by the sun at the crack of dawn either. It's been a dilemma. Until now.To put things in to perspective, check out photo 1 - that's the living room window on the ground floor which is also East facing. Those are thick lined velvet curtains but the light clearly comes through. Now have a look at photo 2 - that's my mum's bedroom window with the Pony Dance blackout curtains fitted.

I'd been searching for blackout curtains for quite some time as the British summer always wakes me up too early, however most of the curtains I saw were either too expensive or after reading reviews, I discovered they weren't up to the job. I found these as I was searching on Amazon and the price seemed very reasonable and reviews said they were total blackout and good quality. I would have preferred them in cream or beige but reviews for those said they weren't total blackout curtains so as I need total blackout I opted for black just to be on the safe side and so far so good! These feel like satin and really do help keep the light out for a good price,

I really love these; being disabled I have difficulty with fiddly things but I found it easy to put the hooks in and even managed to put them up myself. I was a little worried seeing how thin the material was that it would not block out the sun as well as I wanted but once up, and closed, the room went into almost total darkness which was great. My bedroom is south-facing so the sun come in at around 4.30am!! No more!! Really pleased and as they're nice and thin, they won't make the room hot when they're pulled closed. The speed with delivery, the price and quality of these curtains and the seller make me really confident to recommend these. I saw some people found them less than pleasing but I honestly can't see why.

Definitely not true blackout curtains, however, they are beautiful. Will make a pelmet which will keep out more of the light. The room is quite dark, even in full daylight /sunshine. These curtains are silky, very soft to touch and hang nicely. Totally compliment the black silk pillowcases. Ordered two pairs, which differed in finish, (but had same code number, very odd). One had the lovely sheen and the other had a much more matt finish. This pair were returned and refund given. Re-order contained a pair which matched the lovely sheen curtains. Had I only ordered one pair either would be fine. However, after seeing the beautiful silky ones, the pair for the other window had to match.

My bedroom faces onto a busy main road, constantly lit with lots of streetlights as youd expect, for the first time since moving in over 3 years ago, my room is finally dark.I spent the majority of the morning uninstalling my old track for my old curtains, and installing a proper curtain rod for these as i saw the loops in the first picture.. only to discover it has the same system of putting hooks through strings and then the hoops onto the hooks, so the old curtain system wouldve worked fine, but oh well. My fault for not viewing the other images.Easy to install but make sure you buy curtain hooks and hoops beforehand instead of running to B&Q 30 minutes before they closed because you forgot to read the product descriptionWith same day delivery and the price they are,

We bought 2 pairs of these for our wide L-shaped living room window; with a couple of hours of work I ripped a seam on each one and stitched them together to make one big pair. The 68" drop is not a typical drop so I was very pleased to find ones that long - 72" would have been too long (we can tuck them behind the radiator but an extra 4 inches would have been too much). The colour is spot on for our blue/brown/cream living room and matches some of the cushions perfectly. They don't block all the light but for a living room it doesn't really matter. We have a similar pair in the kids bedroom which we coupled with a blind and the combination blocks all the light even in direct sun,

I ordered the olive curtains and felt they were more khaki when they arrived but that was ok as I didn't want anything too dark.They are supposed to be triple weaved to be black out curtains and I was skeptical as they are not lined. However, they completely blocked out the light. I have a street light directly outside my bedroom which keeps me awake but I didn't see any light at all from it with these up.They are great curtains for the price amd you could use them all over the house.They are smooth rather than shiny, nice texture and do the job.Fantastic price for a goods night sleep. I bought them as a stop gap while I save up for some expensive eyelet curtains and a wrought iron curtain

My curtains arrived quickly. These are for my teenage daughter's bedroom. I read other reviews saying the curtains didn't block out light as stated but I'm very pleased with them. I did order the deep purple colour, so this is dark anyway but they have made an improvement to the light that creeps into my girls south-facing room. They look nice and material is super soft and has a bit of a sateen effect. The only downside I could foresee is the material (not being cotton or heavy duty) could be easily pulled, say by a snagged finger nail when opening and closing them. Otherwise, at the £24.99 they cost me for the size of the window,

We had ordered two pairs of curtains the 66 x 54 and the 44 x 54 which were hung close to each other. The curtains arrived OK and were a good colour and quite soft. They are lightweight and the blackout feature works quite well –at least it is better than the lined curtains they replaced. Of course, you still get light bleeding in through the top edge. I have knocked one star off because the curtain lengths were different. That is, each pair of curtains were hung close to each other and on the 66’s the 54 inch drop was about 1.5 inches longer than on the 44’s. Would have been nice if the lengths had been the same.

My windows are facing a garage and lights are kept in the garage at nights. Therefore, both the natural lights and the garage lights shine in the bedrooms. This makes it difficult for us to sleep. I recently purchased these curtains for one of the rooms to see if it would help. I must say that I am extremely happy. It makes the room very dark even at 9:00am when the sun is shining bright. I will be buying the brown colour for the other room.I purchased the grey colour which I have put up behind my regular grew curtains. These blackouts will work perfectly on their own. However, if you are looking for a beautiful look then you can put them up behind your regular curtains.

Brilliant! I read all the reviews before buying these and was perplexed how the reviews were either all 5* or 1*. I am not sure if it is because the 1* reviewers bought a different colour, but the dark grey curtains, are DEFINITELY black out. Obviously you get the slice of light around the edge, so the room isn't completely dark, but they are brilliant. And the material is lovely and soft. When I first opened the pack I wouldn't have believed they would work as well as they do, but they are great. The tap along the top is good quality too - I have bought curtains from The Range before that after a while the tape starts to fray, but this looks sturdy. Definitely recommend.

I'm very happy with those curtains! Also they look lighter than some blackout ones because they are not lined, they are very efficient ( I set them up during summer time, and they are actually the best of all our sets of curtains even the lined ones!). The texture is really smooth and soft, making them look and feel really comfy, perfect for a bedroom.The strings are already knotted, so less risks of you pulling them off by accident.They are also really easy to set and put on, and have a lovely finish when hung, without the need to fiddle with them very much or let them settle for a little while like some other curtains.

These curtains seem very well made and heavy. The problem I had with them is that the process for hanging curtains in Finland (unless you want to install a separate rod (and not a good option in a rental) is that curtains are hung with multiple little tiny clips. The thickness of the curtains at the top made this a bit difficult. But that is a challenge with our system, not with the product. I think on a curtain rod (although I must admit that I didn't see any opening for the rod, even though it seemed stitched for a rod), they would be wonder. Even with the clips, the curtains hang very well. I would purchase again.

Great colour, wash very well, hang well, and they are as blackout as blackout can be.....because they are so blackout it makes the little snippets of light coming through the sides look brighter but sorted that by tucking the curtain into the window well behind the blinds.......now hardly any light gets in......mental note to self though, if buying these again would make the curtain go over the window hole by at least a foot extra putting the curtains 10ins or so over the wall, that way only light can get in is at the top.....unless you put the hanging rail directly under the ceiling coving...just a thought
