I have to say, I was a little curious when my wife asked me to source a pair of "black-out" curtains for our sons bedroom. We live in Scotland and rarely see enough of the sun to want to do anything with it other than bask in its glory. However, a happy wife is a happy life so I dutifully went to my default store for the sole purpose of purchasing the cheapest pair of "black-out" curtains that I could get my hands on both to appease my wife and indeed my wallet. The items in question arrived post haste...I expected nothing less for I am prime....and were installed before I even got home from work. Thinking this would be the end to the roller coaster of an adventure that I'd had in purchasing the "black-out" curtains.I rested, magnanimous in my victory, with a nice cup of tea. It wasn't until the next morning that things went WILD. I was woken to the sound of panicked screaming coming from sons room and as I jumped from my bed, in a what can only be described as a heroic fashion, I was astonished to find my wife and son curled up in a ball on his bedroom floor. Both them screaming and shaking in fear. I immediately enquired what their boggle was and was horrified to hear that, upon waking to find a total absence of any sort of day light, my family had determined that "the end of days" had begun! I immediately broke from my family embrace and raced to the loft to retrieve my "end of the world" survival kit. After retrieving the supplies my family and I hunkered in a fortified position right behind my sons Lego (knowing full well that it would prove as the first line of defence for any naked and unsuspecting feet). We didn't have to wait for long before the "action" started though. As we sat, eagle eyed and ready, there came a rapping, a gentle light tapping, tapping at my chamber door. I mean the front door, and I mean the door bell was ringing. Fearing for my families safety, I left my 5 year old son in charge of our only rifle while I took the melee weapon option (baseball bat with nails in it) and headed down stairs to investigate. I cautiously opened the front door to find my neighbour "Sandy" looking at me quizzically. Apparently she had heard the screaming from next door and come around to make sure everything was alright. I knew her game though, she had clearly come to steal our food and water supplies! I've seen enough "Walking Dead" to know how this pans out so without even a moment of hesitation, I began swinging the baseball bat at her madly. It connected and Sandy fell to the ground as I continued bludgeon her and let me tell you. I didn't stop till the feet stopped twitching. Satisfied and covered in blood I raised my head and screamed triumphantly at the sun. WAIT A MINUTE! THE SUN!?! Thats right my friends, the "black-out" curtains were so good they had fooled us all into thinking it was the apocalypse. I raced upstairs and immediately told my family and oh my how we laughed and then cried and then laughed and then cried some more. Except for Sandy of course. So in conclusion the curtains are as described.P.S. it goes without saying that PonyDance will SPAM the utter sh*t out you begging for a review once you've purchased a £20 item.

Absolutely perfect! After nervously measuring my awkward window a dozen times; these curtains were the closest to matching my dimensions. Because of a bad DIY job from previous tenants in hanging a curtain pole (and instructions from the landlord to use the existing one and not hang a new one); I wasn't sure I would find curtains with dimensions that would be suitable enough! After a lot of consideration; I went with these ones, even though my Windows were slightly wider in width (as you know you measure width with just one of the curtain panes); so was nervous it wouldn't be a good enough fit. Turns out they were absolutely perfect; absolutely chuffed with these curtains; they look like good quality; are a rich royal/navy blue and keep the sound and light out just as described. Worth every single penny; and I'm glad I went with these in the end. Best buy in ages! :)

Lovely curtains for such a good price. The fabric is soft and slightly stretchy; it feels like soft, thick leggings for the want of a better explanation. We got the navy curtains so it could be because they're dark, but they really are blackout. From the outside, there's no light leakage at all. They drop nicely because they're slightly weighted by the heaviness of the fabric and the rings are sturdy, meaning they've made our room look much bigger. Only thing I would suggest is run an iron over them before hanging because the wrinkles from being packaged haven't faded like they did for our other curtains and I'm too lazy to get them down now that they're up!

These are so much better than i had anticipated.I got the dark grey, which is a rich smoke grey and look fantastic in my living room against my grey sofas. They are long, very weighty, feel like a great quality item, and bonus they wash really really well. However they do crease a lot so be prepared to iron them before hanging them up else they will look terrible. They block out around 80% of all light i would say, not total darkness, but enough that you are not blinded 1st thing in the morning.I am genuinely thrilled with them and have no issues recommending them at all.Disclaimer: I received a discount in return for an objective review.

Bought this on prime day taking advantage of the lightning deal. Got the colour grey and was pleased with the shading. Although the curtains are polyester, they are quite soft and one can almost be fooled into thinking it is silk. They seem to be well made and are, in fact, blackout blinds. To be effective, just ensure there is sufficient overhang on the window bays. Sure, one can buy better curtains but you would be hard pressed to find any at this price for the same quality. I cannot attest to the thermal properties of the curtains as it is still summer but this are lined. They aren't too heavy yet still have sufficient heft to hang properly.

I love these black out curtains! I have bought them for several flats now that I am responsible for keeping in good shape. They made of quality fabric that feels like micro fiber and completely block out the street lights outside our windows at night and I have been able to sleep better with a darker room.I would highly recommend these to anyone who wants nice looking window treatments and/or wants good light blocking without having a heavy fabric or lined curtains. The price is very affordable as well. Very good value. They came very quickly and were packaged well. I will buy them again when needed and recommend them to anyone who asks.

I bought these curtains for my dining room and was expecting them to be a bit cheap and nasty for the price but actually they look really lovely and they cut out the light completely. I have a hobby that requires complete darkness in there so that's essential. The eyelets make the curtains hang so much better in a small window space - gathers take up too much room so these are perfect.I bought the black I don't know what the other colours would look like. They don't look lined but the material is very thick and silky and do not need to be lined. I'll get some more for my bedroom in blue. Very good value for money from a picky customer.

I was pleasantly surprised with these curtains. I wanted to get something which really insulates but was a bit sceptical of polyester. It does exactly what it says - it completely block outs out light - my room gets full sun in the morning but with these curtains you wouldn't even know it was daylight except for the faint glow around the edges. The colour is exactly as it looks in the photo - crimson - and the curtains are surprisingly lightweight and really easy to put up. Definitely not the best curtains money can buy but really good value for money. Can't comment on insulation yet.

Really lovely curtains. They hang beautifully. I would have given them 5 stars but the colour isn't quite true to the photograph shown, the Turquoise is slightly lighter, also, one curtain is slightly shorter than the other, but only by about 6mm so it isn't too obvious. The curtains were for a bedroom, so these two issues were not a big deal for me.The Blackout feature works, although as you would expect the light peeps through the top very slightly due to the curtain rail having to protrude away from the wall. The price and the quality is really good.

THE ITEM arrived promptly, well packaged and in good condition. The colour is as described. And the quality is good. It totally blocked the light and we slept pretty much into mid-morning without being disturbed by light. As two senior citizens, the mid-morning sleep is important for to us.We are completely satisfied.I have seen previous review of this article and complain about light not being totally blocked out. Its likely because of the colour chosen. Our colour is violet and it blocks the light completely. A happy and satisfied customer.

They do what they are meant to do. I rent and the curtains I had were thick but let through light very easily so I'd constantly wake up early on weekends. These are very thin and lightweight but do their job perfectly and are easy to install (just make sure you choose the correct type). The picture doesn't show much...because it's difficult to show how 'blackout' they are. But basically the only light that comes through is from the holes at the top and below the curtain - so for a truly 100% blackout you'd need to pin the sides to the wall.

We bought three sets of these curtains: two for our converted garage where my mother is staying for five months and one for my daughter's bedroom. I was amazed at how properly dark they keep the room. My daughter already had blackout blinds that we used in combination with lined blackout curtains, and these new curtains on their own keep the room as dark if not darker than that original combination!I have yet to see if they wash well--will try to remember to come back to this review after we've tried it.

They are the first curtain I have found that looks good from outside.. I have always found the lining of curtains really boring looking from the outside and this is as the same material both sides but I was expecting them to be a darker Purple like a a certain chocolate Purple colour Some of the stitching does not look that neat. But a good price and cuts most of the light but not completely . In the mornings when the sun is shining I can see the image of my nets on the curtain which I quite like .

First tried an alternative from the Amazonbasics range but the material was horrible. These are much better and look great up in a guest bedroom. The colour is exactly like the photo, the curtains arrived well packed, did not need ironing and (unlike some other reviews) both curtains are the same size! I don't need them to be true blackout curtains and some previous reviews were mixed in this regard - but I have been very pleasantly surprised (grey colour) by the amount of light blocked.

The curtains are true to the colour shown in the picture and they have a lovely feel to them and look lovely in our boys nursery.I wouldn't class them as total blackout curtains as there are tiny pin sized holes in the fabric that allow light in (see pic) but overall they shut out a majority of light. We have a blind underneath the curtains so we can get around the light issue.Very good value for money and i would certainly buy again as they have a good range of colour and sizes.
