You reall have to respect Playmobil's designers and their philosophy. It really is fantastic stuff. I've always tried to point my two daughters to Playmobil before Lego, mainly because I thought it was something they could play with immediately (after I'd spent a bit of time putting it all together Ikea-style). Anyway, we had the three-storey house, shopping centre, the camper van, swimming pool and a shed load of extra play people. The latest addition was the Pyramid because my 5 yr old is mad about ancient Egypt for some reason.Personally, I think it's one of their best sets. I've seen what others have said about the cramped internal play area and flimsy lantern/switch (and yes, our broke too)but these are minor points when you consider the care and though that's gone into the design of the set. It's about triggering imagination and I think it does that in spades. I wish I'd have had toys like this when I was their age. It's incredibly detailed and has a ton of (easy to lose) bits of treasure, weapons, bugs etc. and a MUMMY that has a SKELETON inside it!! At the end of the day my daughter thinks it's great and she gets a lot play time out of it. We have all the big stuff on a low table in her bedroom so I would say to get the most out of it you need the permanent-ish space to allow them to to dive in and explore whenever they want. Price? This stuff lasts and can be passed down still looking great so its good value from that perspective. Sometimes kids are just happy with the box tho so go figure? I like Playmobil's ethics and I like how they approach play. It's very consistent and what I'd consider a brand I trust. I'd give it a good 8.5/10 overall.

Bought this for my niece's Christmas present, as I knew she wanted it beforehand.I read numerous reviews and even watched a video review online on this, was a bit sceptical given the price point, that it would have as many parts and as much interaction as with other Playmobil models - I needn't have worried, this thing is massive, with many parts, sure to give hours of entertainment to a child. As with a few other reviews, mine was delivered in retail packaging, with an address label plastered on the box, I had it delivered to work, so no chance it could have been seen by the intended recipient, but I bought mine from Amazon, and paid a quid or so extra so as not to take the chance it would be seen. Also, one of the box flaps was open, so I was concerned that there might be pieces missing - there wasn't but it could have spoiled Christmas day. That said, my niece was delighted with it.

Purchased for our grand kids, my wife and I spent a very pleasant hour assembling the parts and sticking on the decals and "wall paintings"..Take note that the box does have a warning on the outside, that assembly requires 90 minutes! If the intended recipients are anything like my two, they will appreciate it being fully assembled, ready to be played with.Unlike a Lego kit, where half the fun is the building, this is a toy to be played with, and its hidden trapdoor, passageway and secrets are to be discovered. If the recipient has to assemble it first, the joy of discovery will have been lost.

It's expensive, but worth it. Pretty large and the box it comes in is freakin huge!! It was simply my daughters favourite christmas present and we also got her the Caesar and Cleopatra figure set to compliment it which I recommend. My wife put it together and I did hear some swearing about bits being very hard to put together and in place, but she got there in the end. There does appear to be one floor stone that is supposed to drop out, dropping out and barely staying in all the time, but my daughter doesn't seem to mind.If you see it on special, then buy it!!

When my to-be-5-year-old son asked for this for his birthday, I was initially unconvinced that it looked as entertaining as other Playmobil sets (we have a lot of knights, Romans, Ghostbusters and top agents already. We'll I couldn't have been more wrong. He is so happy with it and loves the secret chambers and booby trap and he happily plays for a good length of time making up adventures with his brothers. It's a great set, not too challenging to construct and loads of fun accessories and features to keep little ones entertained.

Very good product, bigger than i thought it would be. my son absolutely loves it. very fast delivery, arrived two weeks before the delivery date. the only reason i have given four stars and not five is because when it was delivered it was delivered just as you see in the picture. they delivered just the product as is and it wasn't in any packaging, just the pic you see with my address label stuck on it. so i had to quickly hide it from my son before he saw it as it was a birthday present.

I bought this for my 6 year old grandsons birthday. He had seen it on the tv and kept saying that he wanted it. He was so excited when he opened it and couldn't wait for his grandad to set it up- he then played with it non stop and his imagination ran wild.He said it was his best present and he had received some pretty good ones!I had Playmobile for my children who are now 37,31 and 27 and my grandchildren still play with it now.

The box is HUGE. The contents, once assembled are a lot smaller. My grandson was still over the moon with it though. The instructions take a bit of deciphering but once you get the hang of 'squiggly line, urinating dog, scarab beetle, cat lying down' meaning 'take part A and fasten it into part Q (which you put down just moment ago somewhere safe but you've lost it haven't you you moron?' things get easier.

Bought when it was discounted. The set isn’t cheap but what a great way to think/ talk and imagine what the past was like. My 9-year- pls had been asking for at least 6 months to get it for him for his bday. And now plays with it all the time. I got the other two little sets as well Cleopatra and Cesar and the camels. Great fun! Very realistic and so creative. Won’t be disappointed!

It takes a while to build. + some of the less-important decoration-bit are flimsy so snapped after a few uses. But nothing major.Generally brilliant toy, loads of sneaky-bits trap-door, secret locking mechanism, falling rock etc. Lots to interact with.Helpful- it is dark in the rooms. So we found getting a battery tea-light handy so there was light in there, + adds atmosphere.

Our 5 year old LOVES this Pyramid which he got for Christmas!! .... The only issue is with the packaging/delivery.... The product was delivered in its Playmobil box with just an address label on it! No plain packaging etc (bearing in mind the time of year!!) .. this laziness almost spoiled the surprise.... Great product, consider suppplier...

Not as big as I was expecting but that was a good thing. Takes a while to build but is worth it. Son absolutely loved it and you get loads of little bits and plenty of People. Very well put together and thought out. Only down side is the sides that you can take off fall off at the slightest touch but my son wasn't bothered by it

We have been looking at this set for so long now and it certainly has not disappointed. My two boys age 4 and 7 have had a great time playing with this together. The moving sections along with all the detailed figures and accessories have given them hours of great role playing and adventures. Playmobile never fails to impress.

Thou you pay quite a price for this toy, I have found my son has played with it every day and quite often ropes me into playing as well. There are quite a few things to do in the pyramid that surprised me when I was shown by my son. Please be aware there are very small pieces enclosed.

Got this as a bday gift for my 6 year old. With its many artefacts, hidden doors and characters it’s a great way to get kids’ imagination going but also to teach them about ancient Egyptian history. I will definitely get more from the PlayMobil Romans and Egyptians range
