With a three year-old grandson to keep amused he has developed a great interest in toy cars and trucks, so spotting this Hasbro™ Play-Doh™ Wheels Front Loader Toy Truck offered for review under the Amazon Vine programme it looked just the things to inspire new games. Hasbro is a major name in children’s toys and they have a near 100 year history knowing what will be a hit with children and gives comfort that a major name will have thoroughly researched safe materials for little hands.The first thing to state is it is massive – far bigger than the Dinky™ sized toy I was expecting, with the product information stating that it is “10.8 x 38.1 x 33.02 cm”; and weighs 1.04 Kilograms – fairly precise!It’s made from hardwearing plastic that is just the sort of thing that will take the knocks that a toddler dishes out and appears very sturdy, with no small pieces to break off. It looks like a JCB™ and is the same yellow colour as those famous machines, with a big scoop at the front and a claw that moves and deposits ‘sand’ into a hopper at the top. This is where it gets clever with two small tubs of Play-Doh in different colours and one of Play-Doh sand compound provided - not dissimilar to plastiscine (although to my mind appearing crumblier), and once deposited in the hopper there’s a red handle at the back that operates a ribbon conveyor, with the ‘sand’ emerging at the front, which produced squeals of delight as my grandson got used to his new toy. There’s also a ‘rock’ provided, which is essentially a mould for making building materials which small hands got used to quickly once it was demonstrated.I was pleased to read in the product information that the building materials are non-toxic, although they do contain wheat. Whilst not intended to be eaten children of this age often learn by putting things in their mouths, so if your child has a wheat allergy best to come up with an alternative material. The product information also states that the materials conform to ASTM D-4236, which means all of the potentially hazardous components of ‘art products’ have been clearly labelled on the product packaging, which they have been in several popular languages, indicating Hasbro’s market reach. Certainly the product information reveals that “Sand compound may stain or stick to some surfaces” and “Keep away from rugs and fabrics”, so it might be best to supervise play or limit it to hard floor surfaces if you are concerned about this aspect – it probably depends on the neatness or otherwise of your child’s room.Amusingly the digger has a number of ‘tools’ moulded into the design – a shovel, a hammer, a spanner and a saw amongst them which I thought was a nice feature and makes the digger look like it’s building site ready, which definitely inspired play. The wheels are another feature I liked, rolling easily but not like a Hot Wheels™ car for instance – it’ll roll nicely but the knobbly ‘tyres’ mean it isn’t whizzing across a room at pace, bashing into household objects which is a feature I also like. This has been a major hit with a developing 3 year-old who took to it instantly, with huge saucer-like eyes that he had a new favourite toy to occupy his time and fire up his imagination. It’s kept him happy for hours a day, and days at a time since receipt, and on that basis alone it’s well worth the £20.99 asking price.

I got this for my 5 year old son who loves play-doh and construction vehicles so it was a win win, the truck was bigger than i thought but that's not a bad thing, feels really sturdy and solidly built too.A cool idea creating the feel of a real construction truck in action with the play-doh sand and cool features of the truck which definitely gets the imagination going of a child.A really cool toy, it's great seeing the sand coming out of the front of the truck, the top claw and grinder work well and is good for a kids imagination and keeps them entertained for a while.The play-doh is safe and non toxic, it's a shame you don't get more play-doh with this set but it's still enough to have a good play with.Overall a very good toy that keeps the children entertained ,the kids love it, it could also be used in a sand pit once the play-doh has gone , it feels robust and should last a while.

It is a really nice toy for kids. It comes with 2 different colours tubes of play dough ( but be aware they are small, so if don't have extra at home you will need to buy some ) and playdough sand. All of them can be shaped and moulded so it will give a lot of opportunities to enjoy this toy. As well it is possible to grind sand through the form by using a leaver from behind, so it would create a more realistic construction zone.The quality of plastic which this toy is made from are quite good, it feels sturdy so it will not break so easy. The size pleasantly surprised me as I thought it will be a bit smaller for this price but I was wrong and it is quite sizable.It is really enjoyable toy for any kid who likes trucks.

Playdoh wheels front loader toy truck comes with a non-toxic sand compound and 2 colored compounds.My little sister loves playdoh and has had paly doh cars and fire engines before, she plays with them for hours so when I gave her this toy I knew it would be the same.load your compound onto the truck, crank the handle, and grind fresh play-doh sand comes out the front.There's a rock mold included so you can make rocks for your new play construction site with lots of imaginative fun to be had.Make sure you scrape any playdoh left in the truck as this might hinder its use when it dries out.Overall, always fun to build and play with playdoh.I would recommend this product.

There is nothing that smells like playdoh. It smells the same now as it did when I was ten.The bright orange digger truck is fitting with the long line of accessories that come with play-doh.For me now, the fascination is how it can still be child safe when there is a hole that you squeeze the paly-doh into and a cog at the back you turn which activates a type of Archimedes screw that moves the stuff out through the front of the digger and into two little twirled piles. It is safe though and I tested this happily confident that Hasbro wouldn’t dream of using it otherwise.It’s another engaging toy that will give hours of fun to pretty much any kid up to eleven.

This is really fun and playful for the money. I love the design and think it's something a bit different.So long as you are supervising your kids it'll be fine but when Play-doh is involved you can never ever ever not be on your guard. It can get messy really quickly.I think that for older kids this is a bit better (4-5) as oppose to 3.Anyhow, this is way more fun than normal pots of playdoh as it's got some sand and something to play with. Definitely would get this over a box of say 12 different colours.It's less creative and more constructive hehe.Bigger than expected but very happy with this one! You get a lot for your money in my opinion.

I saw this and knew that my Grandson would love it as he already has two smaller PlayDoh sets that are his go to "making" toys. His face when I gave this to him was a treat and he couldn't wait to get it open.The set comes with the doh to form and a terrific truck which he uses with or without the doh, he somehow knew almost straight away that the claw of the truck is for picking up the doh and transporting it around.The quality is good with a lovely bright colour and has been made so as not to have any loose parts and everything works as it should, giving him hours of fun.Great toy, recommended.

Our 3+ grandson loves construction toys so he is totally excited by this. As his other toys are in the sandpit, we've hidden the playdoh away. [Previous Playdoh toys have resulted in a mess on our carpets - miniscule amounts that get everywhere among the fibres despite trying to control by a playmat.]As a vehicle he can push along and use his imagination with, not requiring batteries, it does the job of entertaining him. Price is relative to large toys in similar vein.

This is a very interactive set to get the little budding construction workers imagination running wild. It has lots of different molds. The mechanics works really well and is effective. The kids love it.The packaging could do with less plastic and other toys are super secured in and it took at least ten minutes to get through it all.The quality of the plastic toys seems high and i think they should last a while.I'm happy with the purchase and so are the kids.

Excellent. One of the best toys I've seen for a long time.it's a great big digger, very robust, in a bright yellow with satisfyingly large wheels with moveable parts which allow you to manipulate the diggers mechanisms, pick up and transport the included plasticine type boulder, or anything else of a similar size or weight.It's very tough and can be used outside as well as inside and just looks and feels like a really high quality toy.

You don't get a lot of play-doh in this playset - but most people looking at this will probably already have a load or be getting some extra anyway.The Excavator is quite large, it's made of plastic, but feels solid and chunky anyway.This set comes with one tub of play-doh and one tub of sand.It's a fun Set to play with, any play-doh obsessed kid will be happy.

This is a great JCB style toy for youngsters that like diggers, then add in that it comes with moldable sand and some traditional playdoh and you get a great gift for your money! All items are of good quality and would withstand a fair amount of 'enthusiastic' play! I'd recommend getting a large tray or tarpaulin because this can create quite a bit of mess!

I brought this for my 5 soon to be 6 year old son for his birthday. on looking at it, it is a great set to have! our first of the wheels line. it is a good size and the vehicles look like good quality. I am sure he is going to have hours of fun! I would recommend buying some extra playdoh as the pots that are supplied are quite small.

This was much bigger than I expected and the digger seems sturdy enough to take a few knocks from a rambunctious little one. It comes with 2 small pots of Play-Doh and a bigger pot of "sand" which is a similar texture to Play-Doh but more sand like if that makes sense ? Overall a nice toy that will entertain many a little one happily.
