Works absolutely fine and I can't find any fault for the price. The construction is fairly lightweight and the fabric isn't particularly heavy, but it works perfectly. The 2-in-1 cover is less annoying to attach/detach than you'd expect. As a shoot-through brolly it's fine but (the translucent fabric is perhaps a touch thin and plasticky compared to more expensive ones), but every brolly has a silver lining (ho ho) and as a reflective silvered one it's excellent.Sure it's not a Westcott/Profoto/Lastolite, but if you're doing the kind of work where you can justify a £60+ umbrella, you can probably afford to. For beginners, students or people doing casual shooting they're all you'll need, and for working photographers they're incredibly handy since they're cheap and expendable (mine get used for location work where being blown over or dropped is a high risk, so far I've bent them a bit but they still do their job. That said, everyone recommends brollies as the first modifier to get when learning, but personally I'd pay a few quid more and get a nice little softbox (the folding Godox ones are solid). More forgiving to use, more durable and easier to control the light spill.

First impressions of these are very good - Time will tell.I've seen many brollies in my time in the profession, most budget lighting accessories are cheap photo-tat.These feel sturdy and well made - the centre poles for example are tough; the end is not hollow. My first impression is that these seem as effective as anything I've used in the past, nothing shoddy about them at all - This is decent kit and if it lives up to it's promise I will certainly buy them again.Mine is the black/silver plus white inner/shoot-through - The parasol fabric has two layers, both of which unhook from the frame so that the black/silver or white shoot through layers can be used independently - No need for a collectionof individual reflective and shoot through umbrellas!I got the 43" silver set - Most likely I'll supplement these with one or two 33"s of the same as backup. If using with speedlights, make sure you invest in quality tough brackets and stands to support these, especially the 43" ones. They are satisfyingly weighty so cheap/weak brackets might not be up to the job.

I wanted to try off-camera flash but as a hobbyist didn't want to go overboard on the money for lighting accessories to learn with. This is brilliant - reasonably priced, yet well-made and adaptable. The reversible black and silver cover comes off completely, leaving you with a shoot-through umbrella (think cross between shower-curtain and voile and you'll get the idea of the thickness and diffusion ability). Putting the cover back on is easy as the caps just slide over the struts and seem to have the right balance between 'easy to put on and difficult to fall off' and the whole thing packs up slimly to slide back into the plastic tubing it is supplied in.As some reviews have said there are oneor two slight brownish marks on the diffusion material where the umbrella has been folded in the plastic, but I haven't seen any evidence of these showing up in my photos.

Viewed in contact of it's price, I paid £9.99 for mine, this is a really great product. First of all it is a good neutral colour so doesn't produce any unpleasant colour casts in either bounce or shoot through set ups. It is well made, light but feels pretty solid and looks fine in use. I've been using mine for a few months now and it is still going strong. It doesn't have any posh brand names written on the side of it and it isn't as fabulously built as it's expensive completion either but that isn't what you are paying for, it is far better than it's price suggests and you would have to break 4 of them before you are down on your investment. It's just a brolly right so nothing to get excited about but it does it's job well and affordably, definitely the best cheap (and probably mid priced) umbrella i've used, i'll be buying again for sure.

All in all I'm happy with these brollies, bought 2. Well made & I like the fact that you can remove the white material from the frame & switch from white & gold. As others have said, mine too have the brown stains which although looks horrible, doesn't affect the final image. Nice light with a good spread of diffusion. As anyone who uses brollies knows, even higher priced major brands don't last for years (at least mine don't) & for this price, 2 for less than 1 Westcott, you can't go wrong.

I needed two for a shoot urgently, my friend bought these and I was quite impressed especially when he told me what he paid ! I ordered 2 on Thursday night and they arrived Saturday morning, just in time for the Sunday shoot. Seems to be good quality, most of my work is done indoors and I can see these lasting a long time. Reflects light nicely too, it’s a no brainer, recommended!

Does exactly what I bought it for, modifies light. Considering the low price I am impressed. It's not the strongest of builds and will more than likely have to be treated carefully for it to last a long time but great for the price. If you need something more robust then I would imagine you will have to spend a lot more money.

Looks like it will last, and well worth the price. Works perfectly. UK based seller that always delivers very quickly (I have ordered from Camera King three times now).Only slight quibble; the handle end is not hollow but the metal stopper was a little loose. Nothing a dot of glue couldn't sort out.

I haven't done any photography with these umbrellas yet but the good reviews and price for two convinced me to add these to my home studio kit. They seem much better made than other budget umbrellas, I am sure they will be of great use on my next portrait shoot and with care, last for several years.

Two brollies for £6.50 delivered can't be bad. These are just as good as the ones that I am replacing which after a year or so are looking a bit tired and cost twice as much. If I get a year out of these I will be well pleased and at this price I will have no complaints.

Pleases with this, seems good build quality and does what it says on the tin. I would recommend looking at other colours too and light is more than subtly different between eg a silver umbrella and a while umbrella. At this price though, get both.

great product and addition to my studio setup. just as good if not the same as the big brands. wouldnt be surprised if they all came from the same factory!!all metal shafts as with all umbrella i have bought from phot-r

Had this item for just over 2 weeks now and have seen some good results with it. got a 7mm shaft so works nicely with my Manfrotto umbrella adapter. easily taken from one shoot to another, great value for money

I snipped the cotton threads so I can remove the white inner from the frame. Gives the option of reflecting from the silver only side.It all still fits back okay.Very happy with this purchase.

Great pair of umbrellas for the price ... I previously bought the white (shoot through) versions too ... if you look after them they will last a long time (like anything really) ...Thanks.
