The Series 1000 shaver from Philips is the basic end of the range but still gives me a good and reliable shave, at a very reasonable cost. Unlike older generation shavers there's no need to be plugged in to a shaver socket either - this is rechargeable, and I find a full charge will happily last me a week, so this is perfect to pack for conferences, breaks and holidays, even if you're out in the wilds. The most important part of any shaver is the cutting action, and this one is surprisingly good. Three cutting heads give me plenty of coverage for a rapid shave, and all of them are pivoted, so closely follow my face contours. I have sensitive skin and find the Philips gives me none of the problems of redness or skin nicks that a wet shave inevitably results in.So, I'm rather impressed, and it saves me a lot of time and discomfort. The flip-up sideburn trimmer is also a real bonus, and renders my separate trimmer redundant now that I have all the tools I need in one device.Cleaning the shaver after use is simply a matter of flipping open the top and rinsing under a tap. It's IP7 rated, so will not be harmed, and washing like this is so much easier that having to carefully brush out a non water-proof head. The ease of it means I clean it this shaver far more regularly than my old non-waterproof one, and that leads to an easier life and a cleaner shave. I also like the elegant colour changing switch surround that indicates battery charge status. The only features I miss with this shaver are storage bag (for travel purposes) and the ability to use it wet and dry, for other parts of the body. For those features I'd need to go up the range, and invest in a higher spec Philips shaver. But as I said already, the 1000 works well, so as a base level shaver is very good value for money in my opinion. As with the other Philips goods I own, this shaver is well designed and well made, to a high standard. Unlike the cheap generic shavers that have failed me in the past, this one seems more robust and reliable. Philips is a recognised brand that I trust, and having tested it thoroughly I'm happy to recommend this shaver to you. Five stars.

The Philips S1332/41 (Series 1000) is an affordable dry electric shaver.Even though this shaver is considered entry level in the market, the goal of this shaver is to provide you with a convenient, comfortable and easy shave.• It is designed simply, without any fancy settings. The shaver has a rounded and curved body, making it easy to grip.• Of the three blades in the rotary cutters, they each contain four-directional flex heads. The heads flex in four different directions so they more effectively shave every curve over your face and neck, chin, and jawline.Flex and float will shave off more hairs in one pass, so you won’t have to move the shaver continuously over the face. This also has the additional benefit of minimizing any sort of irritation,as the less the skin is rubbed, the less chances that it will be sore or red after shaving.Even though I have sensitive skin, the dry shave did not irritate my skin.• At the back of the shaver is a pop-up trimmer, so you can trim easily around your sideburns, moustaches, or beard. The pop-up trimmer feature is easy to use and better made than my old Braun. When not in use, it pops back down again.• This shaver is also rechargeable and requires no cord or double batteries to run.A full charge takes 7h 52min (in my case) for ~40 minutes of use - this will give you about 12 shaves.? There aren't a lot of extra accessories, such as charging and cleaning station, which help to keep the price down on what can be an expensive line of cordless Philips shavers.? IPX7-Rated Waterproof (can be submerged up to 1 meter for up to 30 minutes and can readily withstand rain, splashes, or getting rinsed)✔ Pros:+ Provides a close, comfortable and easy shave+ Great for my sensitive skin+ Easy to handle and comfortable to hold+ Travel friendly+ Cordless+ IPX7-Rated Waterproof+ Affordable✖ Cons:- No complaints (will update if I find anything on continuous use)I 100% recommend giving this shaver a try if you are looking for an affordable solution to shaving with sensitive skin.

This "Philips New Series 1000 Dry Electric Shaver" sits towards the budget end of the market with other models from both the same and different manufacturers being double or triple the price. With that said, I was surprisingly happy at both the build quality of the shaver and its general performance - both surpassed my expectations. It looks and feels good and has a "more expensive than actually is feel" about the whole thing, you will find no cheap and soft plastics used in the body. It has a simple but well-thought-out design even with my smallish hands. It's comfortable to hold and use (even for a lefty like me) and the heads flex in different directions allowing it to adapt to the shape of your face. While it is IPX7 rated waterproof, meaning it can be used for short periods in water, I do not really see the need. The battery life and charging time was a bit disappointing. You can opt either to give it a full charge which took about eight hours (which seems rather excessive) or a quick charge which gives about ten to fifteen minutes of shaving. Again even after a full charge the time I got in battery life seemed disproportionate with only about thirty minutes of use.As you would expect with the price tag, there is little included in terms of optional extras such as docking stations or cleaning utilities. This is not necessarily a bad thing as it helps keep the cost down and doesn't detract from the overall function of the shaver. It is a pretty good shaver at a pretty good price let down only by the battery life - but still worth considering none the less.THE GOOD..........Value for money, build quality, easy to use and hold, does the job well.THE BAD............ Charging time and battery life, lack of a case for travel and acessories.

I Inly shave my fave every 3-4 days Always have a hard time with shaving because of my sensible skin, I cant use a regular shaver with razor blades because it makes my skin red, irritates and causing razor burns. I started to use this Philips electric shaver 2 weeks ago and I already already love it my skin stopped being red after a shave but still have the same result like with a razor blade. I ca't say too much about the battery life, I have only charged once before the first use and still has power after 2 weeks of use. Around the power butter there is a battery level indicated so far it shows battery is still full. It's very comfortable to hold in my hand, its not heavy.Featured with 3 blades which works brilliantly, the head where the blades are sitting is flexible and float in numerous direction and nicely follow the shape of my face. The blade are self sharpening, obviously this doesn't mean will last forever but replacement blades available on amazon from Philips which is a bit price but there is also cheaper aftermarket blades available. To clean the shaver is easy, i just wash it under the tap, it is fully waterproof. I can't say anything about the popup trimmer as I have not used it yet. It comes with a plastic cap to protect the blades. Because it's a small shaver it's also portable it can be used anywhere but a carrying bag would be nice to include in the box. Can't wait to try the higher end models!!!

This gets the thumbs up from my youngest son. Easy to use and hold, it cuts through stubble ..... quite heavy stubble may I add very easily. For heavier course facial hair with the texture of wire which my Hubby has it’s not the best. This device is quick to charge and holds it charge well. The trimmer is a nice and handy addition., and it’s easy to clean. It’s not super expensive, nor does it promise the world but it’s an efficient device which I believe Is good value for money.as it delivers what it says it should. My husband says it’s a good entry level shaver and whilst it’s worked well for our eighteen year old it would be a total let down for hubby as it struggled through the course hairon his face and did a poor job.Recommend as entry level and for those guys whose have normal facial hair growth but if you have thicker course hair my husband says not for you. We were so pleased with it we bought our son in law one for his birthday he has average facial growth which has fine textured hair And we have had no complaints.Phillips have a good reputation and reliability record so would definitely buy again, my hubby has a more robust and expensive Phillips which he has had many years.

I Have a Philips Series 7000 & if I want to remove any stubble I use the Hybrid, I take the Hybrid away with me as its small & easily Packed. So the chance to Test another 'Philips' Product, Why not. I trust the Brand with my Hair & Teeth without question. Got this & went over to Yorkshire for a couple of Days. So took this with me Slipped neatly into my holdall When away on trips I shave religiously. Right enough of that to what you really need to know. It felt great soft to the Touch & Not bulky. Charged well' Had Night stubble to remove. To be honest it took a while BUT didn't damage my Face, no broken skin.so that's a plus, Didn't run out of charge. another Plus, Fitted into my Man Bag Wasnt Bulky another Plus,Was a dry shave so no carrying foam or needing water, (great Plus) Price for a Named brand under 50 GBP another Plus. & rather quiet another Plus for me as I was able to work or watch tv with No real noise. Oh, & didn't interfere with the TV. Yes, I like it Yes I will use again. you will need an adapter to recharge as Philips think we all have 2 pin Plugs. 1 quid so problem solved No Drama Stuble remover.

Delivered by Amazon in a branded cardboard box .This Phillips series 1000 dry electric shaver is great quality .Hubby took it out of the packaging and put it on charge , which took approximately 20 minutes ( there was already some charge in it )He says it's comfortable to hold and the blades are perfect for keeping his 5 o'Clock shadow at bay . He particularly likes the pop out precision trimmer to keep his sideburns straight .He used it for around twenty minutes before it started to show signs of battery depletion . There is a button on the handle which has led lights behind it that change colour according to the amount of charge left .A full charge takes upto 8 hours for 40 minutes of use ,alternatively you can place it on a fast charge which gives around ten minutes of shaving .This razor can also be used with water for up to 30 minutes ,hubby days he's not going to this as he wants to use it for dry shaves only .All in all the Phillips 1000 is well priced at just £48 it does its job but most importantly has made my hubby happy , I am happy to recommend it .

This shaver has a nice premium feel to it. Definitely feels as nice as my old Philips shave I had. And does feel more ergonomic and comfortable to hold than my existing non brand shaver. The shave itself is a slightly better shave than my existing shaver somehow even though in theory it's the same multi move 3 head approach. The battery is rated for around 40 minutes, which is good, but not as much as the verified 60 minutes of my non brand shaver. However I'm happy to compromise 20 mins for a closer shave, given that 40 minutes will easily last me a month. Now the "intuitive battery display" did light up when I was using the shaver, but now after a charge and a second shave, it does show anything,so I'm not sure if the display is broken or if it means it's fully charged! - hardly intuitive!I much prefer the estimated number of minutes displayed on my non brand shaver. In summary, very nice shaver, but the battery display is questionable. Worth the extra money, yes.

This is i guess Phillips entry shaver, but i dont have any others to comapre it too .It is much smaller in real life than it looks in the pictures. It is a good solid plastic with rubber grips, and sits very well in the hand. It took overnight to charge, and the battery lasts 40 minutes or so which is pathetic quite frankly. The on/off switch is robust and feels very solid. I also think it looks very smart.Shaving performance was okay, didnt cut myself too much, but i did cut myself a fair few times, this could be my fault however by pressing too hard against the skin. The pop up trimmer is excellent for sideburns and really works well. This comes with a 2 pin plug so you are going to need an adapter to use it which i find very irritating.99% of british bathrooms do not have shaver sockets so why do manufacturers insist on plugging them up with 2 pins? I think it would have been nice to have a small bag or case included. Its good, basic, but does the job.

Without doubt this is a reliable and good value electric shaver. It is quick to charge and holds enough charge for several days of shaving. As a shaver it fast and efficient, the three shaving heads are spring loaded so they conform to facial features and the shave is smooth. Is it as close as a wet shave? No but it is ideal for a fast shave (30-60 seconds will do it) when you need it.On the negative side, it's not the most travel friendly shaver. The cover to protect the shaving head is good but it doesn't have a case and it is quite possible that the operating button could be pressed in a bag and run down the charge. On the positive side, it is easy to clean and maintain. The shaver head doesn't detach,it just flips open, which is an improvement on old models. The trimmer is also precise and easy to use.In short, a really good value, day-to-day use electric shaver.

Definitely my brother's favourite Philips electric razor and this one new series is no exception.Easy dry shave with 3 round blades and a trimmer for moustache and sideburns giving a great comfortable clean shave.Cordless and will allow you to shave for over half hour on a 8 hour charge up.Easy to hold and grip the razor without it slipping out of your hand, so very good for anyone who as a gripping problem. So very easy to keep clean by rinsing under tap and gently dry and/or dry it self.A two pin plug charger, a very smart black dry razor that is very easy to use.My brother is completely satisfied with this product as he loves Philips products and only bought the Aqua last year.He finds hegets a lovely comfortable shave in no time.Ideal for packing in your suitcase in a toilet bag for your jollies and very convenient. He's highly recommending.

Most of my previous electric shavers either gave me burnt patches on my face or broke down pretty quickly after purchasing it. Even though i had tried a Philips before, I was a little worried it would end up in the bin just like the others since they all seem to be hit or miss. Thankfully this shaver does perform as it should, Giving me a decent shave without any redness or sore spots on my face. The shaver seems to be made pretty sturdy, With a lot of thought gone into the design of the blades and the angles it can adjust to on my face. It cuts well around my sideburns, But i still had to be careful not to accidentally shave them off. So far I'm impressed with the reliability of this shaver,And the battery gives me a good amount of time before it needs another recharge.

In The Past Couple Of Years, I Have Owned Two ( 2 ) Different Models Of Philips Electric Shavers.I Just Received This Model ( Series 1000 ) And Certainly Like It The Best Of All Of Them.Rechargeable, Long Battery Life, Good Fit In The Hand, And A Really Useful " Pop-Up" Trimmer.Very Easy To Clean - One Can Even Run It Under Cold Water To Be More Thorough....Great For Travel - Light Weight - Sturdy - And Snap-On Plastic Head Cover For Protection.Just A Further Note - The Plug Is For Shaving Socket Only ( So You Will Need An Adaptor )In Addition, A Travel / Carrying Case Is Not Provided.I Really Like This Shaver, Enough To Purchase It Again As A Gift For A Family-Member.

This is a good shaverT'other half prefers a traditional wet shave but is pretty impressed with this shaver. It arrived in a branded box, in perfect condition. The shaver is much lighter than one we tried recently, and easier and more comfortable to hold.It delivered a decent shave, with more than enough charge. My partner particularly liked the trimmer section that flips up.I don't think he is going to change from his usual razor, but he says this Philips is much better than the previous shaver which was 4 times as expensive.Currently priced at £47.99, reduced from £48.00Yes you read that correctly!I hope you find this review helpful, thanks for reading.

This comes with a two pin plug so an adapter will be needed for charging. I found the ones in my local supermarket are more than adequate and very cheap. The shaver is well built, feels solid enough for a cheaper model and has a nice comfortable feel in the hand. It's not really up to the task of handling my thick stubble after 4 or 5 days of growth but that's to be expected. For an every day or every other day shave then it's good value and even my more expensive shaver needs a good few trips back and forth to get everything. This is exceptional for the price and would make a really great gift for a teen to start out with. Charges reasonably quickly.
