Philips 43 inch (42.5) monitor with hdr 1000 and freesync 60hz panel:Experienced delays with receiving the product but managed to get Amazon to sort the issue out. The monitor itself is fantastic for normal use (browsing, multi tasking work related stuff) and 4k youtube content looks amazing with hdr on. The monitor is extremely bright and I have it set to 0 to 10 (i adjust when I need to) out of 100.If youre expecting high pixel density then you ought to look elsewhere but for a 43 inch monitor this is fantastic. For me it feels like a very large 1440p monitor which is exactly what I was looking for as it doesnt hurt my eyes and I dislike having to play with text scaling.Basically gives me a lot of screen space to use.For gaming it is fine but if you are looking for super crisp clean images at super high refresh rate then look elsewhere. Im happy with 60hz (anything higher hurts my eyes) and with freesync its fantastic. You may have read other reviews about the pixels being visible at very short distances and thats true. But if youre sitting about a metre and a half away its passable and honestly youre not going to get such a large monitor at this price with these features. The display itself is glossy and not matte, but not super glossy like some of these newer laptops today. For me its bearable (I dont like glossy) and actually if you have the windows curtains drawn and light sources from the back covered it works very well. The sound/speakers on this monitor is very very good. I use it for my work and need the extra desk space and so use the sound out of the hdmi and this baby is loud and clear and has some decent bass with the dts. Works a charm with my amazon prime video. The only thing I did differently is that I removed the standard mounting that came with the monitor and bought a 200x200vesa mount that is strong and sturdy. I had to do it as my desk is small. For 500-600quid this thing is a beast. For all those requiring super clean gaming visuals at super high rez then look for something that will cost you 1.2k gbp onwards (if you can find it). Most monitors are annoying narrow vertically and wide horizontally which is stupid and kills the immersion. I know as I have a 3x 1440p portrait mode set up for my gaming needs and nothing beats it.For colour calibration info please look at other reviews as I normally dont bother. I set to what my eyes and mind says is good and thats it.My only gripe is that I wished it was curved as it is easier to see end to end (this replaces a 32inch 1800r curved gaming monitor with 144hz freesync). But its still good.A word on backlight...its not the best but its sufficient for me. Im no expert on this but this has local backlight and its ok for me. Pls do additional researchOn reviews mentioning image burns... This monitor has a feature called pixel orbiting which moves the image one pixel left (then right, then up, then down) every 10 minutes. Super subtle and you dont notice it. Its a great feature if you ask me. This prevents image burns on the panel. And o yea this is a MVA panel and has pretty good black blacks and white whites.Hope this review helps someone.

I wanted to replace my 3 year old Samsung 40" 4k tv that I used as my second monitor and for movies.. There was just nothing at this size when I came to TVs that appeared to be any good.. Sure you could get 4k HDR but the HDR was never any good.I then found this monitor and it seemed to fit the bill, its HDR1000 certified so can manage the HDR stuff a lot better than the TVs at the same price range and size. It also has a fast response time so I can use it for gaming if needed but I do have my main monitor for that.. I mainly use this for watching movies via the Microsoft store or on my Nivida shield and the quality is very good a lot better then my old TV.Sure if you are sat right in frontof it and using it for web browsing you might notice the pixels but you have to really look for it.There is a tiny bit of light bleed in the corners but you only notice that on a totally black screen.. you cant see it in movies or games. It also feels more premium then TVs at this price range and size, its a bit thicker but other than that it looks great. If you a restricted for size due to desk space or whatever then its worth considering this for use as a second monitor, movies and gaming at a distance.

I have spent time reading reviews on this monitor, and the problem as I see it is what actually do people expect from a PC Monitor of that size? half the problem is that one has to understand that these Monitors are supporting resolutions of 4K, and are limited to refresh rates so, where does the issue lie? of course its in the hardware, so, if you want to get the best out of a Monitor of this size, go buy an NVIDIA 1080Ti and you will see what this Philips Monitor can give you.I use the Monitor for Gaming and CAD work, and as these Monitors go and for the money these are pretty good, no, very good, yes there maybe issues with a little bleeding when the Monitor is not displaying and the issues aligned to 60HZ refresh rates, but the orbiting pixel feature is a great innovation, look it up and understand what that does, very useful. You could spend £2000 on a monitor but if you haven't got the hardware to support it then but something with a smaller screen.Great Monitor.Steve

Image quality is superb! There are absolutely no defects like static artifacts, bad uniformity or backlight bleed. For such a huge panel it is very impressive. Make sure to switch to sRGB to get realistic colours as opposed to overly saturated colours in default mode. Mine came with calibration report which proves objectively what I observe. Unfortunately it's impossible to adjust brightness if in sRGB mode.Build quality to a very high standard as opposed to most of the mainstream TVs .I used it both for films and tried some browsing and coding. Text clarity is very high. It's a 43 inch panel, so obviously sitting close isn't convenient.

Using this with Xbox one x...couldn't be happier...really good picture... this is a monitor designed around console gaming and that's what it does best. If my nose nearly touches the screen I can see the pixel structure others may mention but anything over an arms length maybe even a little under and you can't see that......the built in speakers seemed good but I run it though krk monitors. only bad point would be only having 1 hdmi port but it works for me. More is always welcome though

Amazing tv the brightness is crazy. My old tv was about 10 years old so this was some upgrade. I have my firestick plugged into the back of it. Mine came with 2 hdmi, slightly different model, everything else was the same. This was a major plus for me.If you like a saturated picture this is not for you. The colours do not glow with a fake colour, if that makes sense.... some people like that but I think this looks a lot more real.
