I have used about 4 different types of 'dimable' bulb with my my remote control ceiling fan and all they would do is either flash or nothing. First thing that is noticable about this bulb is the weight of it. I would say this weighs maybe 4 times more than a normal LED bulb. Not sure if it is the refractor inside or the electronics or the heatsink, but it feels very substantial.Light is definitely warm white, bit too yellow for my tastes, but beggars cant be choosers, in terms of brightness, wasnt as bright as I expected for an 8w, but certainly brighter than a 40w halogen.Whether it is worth 7 times the price of other LED bulbs is up for debate,

Ok, couldn't find any other 60 watt equivalent SES from well known brands, so bought this despite being roughly 3 x more expensive than other wattages/less known brands. Well, I have to say that I'm really pleased with it. It dims lower than previous branded 40 watt equivalent and offers much much more light at highest setting. Nice colour as well, warm but not too yellow. I obviously can't really talk about longevity, but if it goes quickly, I will re-review.

Been searching for ages for bulbs that will work properly with LightwaveRF dimmer switch, and this does! :-) Great dimming range -- then only downsides are that 1) it is a bit bigger than a normal candle bulb, and 2) it really only casts light upwards -- so if your bulb is mounted horizontally within a frosted case (as mine is) it only really lights up the left or right side.

Only just recently received so can’t comment on longevity, but at £7.99 I expect it to last! It works a treat in a touch lamp, first setting being just enough to see if you need to get up in the middle of night to third setting being bright like a 60W for normal use. No yellow, no cold, harsh glare, just a really nice glow.

Used in a 5 light chandelier fitting with a Varilight V-Pro dimmer switch. On this switch, you need to change it to mode 3, not the default mode 1, which is very dim with these (half power or less). I almost sent the bulbs back until I thought to try that.

As you’d expect from Philips, a high quality item.Two reasons why I buy these bulbs:- the only LED lamps that “look pretty”- they work with Lightwaverf

The warm shade is very suitable to the living room and the shade changes as you dim it.The Philips brand gives some assurance re quality and longevity

I was a bit sceptical about 'dimmable' LED's after one or two flops but these Phillips ones are really good. Bright but with smooth dimming.

These 8 W = 60 W lights are very bright and give off very little heat. We use them in ceiling fan lights. No more dim bedrooms

These bulbs a little pricey but they offer superb, dimmable LED brightness!
