There are two versions of this razor supposedly and this is the slightly newer model as distinguished by the red accents. It has a stylish look but there are a few letdowns. The cradle holds the handle whilst charging, but there isn't any storage to hold the small brush attachment. Unlike other razors, there isn't the ability to swap for a wider range of heads either. Maybe this is intentional but perhaps that cost saving could have gone towards a travel bag perhaps.Additionally yes these units may use a lot of power, but 50 mins isn't that much time, and having used philips rechargable devices in the past, I expect within a year or two that time to be cut in half. Charging also takes an incredibly long time.Somehow and somewhere 8 hours became the standard for charging all sorts of personal grooming devices and you have to pay a leg to get a quick charge handle. Ah well.In operation, the unit is excellent. I've not tried wet shaving, but dry is a pleasure. The main shaver heads gets very close whilst the trimmer doesn't get as close as you'd like, even at the closest setting, so it's easier to remove the trimmer guard as long as you're careful not to nick yourself. It's nice and weighty in the hand but simple to use. unfortunately the instructions are always a nightmare to interpret, like ikea instructions, but created by somebody that has never even picked this up.I would definitely recommend this if looking for a wet/dry shaver if you can tolerate the long charge time and frequency of charge should you use it often. I only use it every week on so on a couple of areas, so should last about 5-6 uses between charges.

This Philips Series 7000 Waterproof Bodygroomer is a complete system for shaving/trimming below the neckline and comes with a 5 year warranty. In the box apart from the groomer you get a charger with UK 2 pin bathroom plug, charging stand, cleaning brush and instructions which are largely visual. The unit is powered by a rechargeable battery which gives you around 50 minutes of use in return for an 8 hour charge. Overall the trimmer looks and feels well made. The first thing which struck me is that unlike a conventional shaver this unit uses both of its ends - at one end you have the shaver and at the other end a trimmer with 5 length settings ranging from 5-11mm and it's easy to adjust the setting via a slide control. There are separate push button switches for each end of the device. Cleaning is easy as the unit is waterproof and the ends are removable for cleaning/blade replacement - the best method of cleaning is to just rinse the ends under the tap.In use I found the groomer to be effective and irritation free - there's no red skin or soreness as a result of using this device. The trimmer works well on body hair and the shaver will leave your skin smooth if that's what you want. In my view this groomer does all that it claims and rather well too. In addition, the shape makes the device easy and pleasant to hold whilst the charging stand keeps it ready for use.In summary, a well designed and made groomer which works very well with the assurance of a 5 year warranty. Recommended.

This is an unusually designed body groomer with a trimmer at one end and a foil head shaver at the other. It's designed for use on hair underneath the chin only, so not for beards. The groomer is easy to hold with comfortable non-slip side grips and isn't likely to be dropped even with wet hands. It's fully waterproof which means you can use it in the shower and you can also clean it by simply rinsing it under the tap.The two ends of the groomer are operated by different buttons so it's simple to control, and the trimming end has a slider to change the length of the comb (and thus the length of the hair after it's been trimmed), which is great as it means you don't have to faff around with swapping multiple trimming heads. You have five different lengths to choose from. The foil head gives a fairly close shave and the trimmer works well on short hair, but longer hair will probably need to be removed with hair clippers or scissors first as long, thick and/or dense hair has a tendency to clog in the trimming combs and ends up just being pulled on which is uncomfortable. You can remove the comb completely for a closer trim but this is likely to cause nicks as the clippers are a bit enthusiastic!Overall this is a decent multipurpose groomer.

The build quality of most Philips products is usually pretty good, even for their lower end things, and this follows that. The handle has a nice weight to it and forms into your hand very nicely, making for an easy shave. This is somewhat of a departure from most allover body groomers, because on one end you have a traditional shaver with comb, and on the other you have a foil head. So immediately it's easier to use because you don't have to fiddle around with attachments, taking of an attachment and putting on the other attachment. It does actually make difference. The stand is of good quality, solid and sits the trimmer fine. The cut itself is very good. The foil is basically like any other foil head within this price range in that it does the job, with no frills. I have relatively sensitive skin and wasn't brought up in a rash afterwards like I have been in the past which is a good sign. On the other side the trimmer is solidly built metal, with a good weight to it and it cuts very well. I think five length options is more than fine, for me at least, because I usually find one length I'm happy with and stick with it. But people who like more variability might find this restrictive. Overall I'm very happy with this and will use it daily.

I have to admit, I'm not the target user of this product, not really. Nicest way of putting it - my hair isn't that long, neither is it coarse enough to warrant using this product. That said, I'm wondering if I could use the short hair trimmer on my legs... The man in the house is using it though, and the product itself is really impressive, neatly packaged in a rectangular box which makes the parts easy to remove. The shaver comes on a stand, and is charged up with the enclosed cable - takes aaaages to charge up. Once it is charged, the shaver itself has two heads - you just flick it over and decide what you're using it for. Is it the long one for long hairs, or the short one for short hairs?Considering that guys get rather hairy compared to women, I wouldn't have a clue which one to use, I only assume the long one is for the hair on your head. It's as simple as charging it up and flicking a switch and shaving with it. It can be used in the shower, and it works really effectively with a bit of shaving foam, and the results are really, really good. (This comes from the man of the house, word for word) I like it, and I'd definitely use it again. (Again, the man of the house) Can I use this on my legs yet? Let's find out. (Me.)

Been using this product for a while now as a bodygroomer (it's intended purpose!) And it's so much easier too use than other products I've tried. Normal razors gives me terrible razor rash, this has no issues with that at all.Use the clipper side to get the hair down to stubble then use the other side to remove it completely. It does take a few runs to remove it but it does all go eventually.Waterproof so can be used in the shower and rinsed under cold water once it's been used. Replacement blades are also a good price (recommended to change every 6 month to a year I believe, depending on frequency of use!)The clipper side will cut occasionally,so you don't have to be careful I'm certain areas - as long as you keep on top of it regularly you won't need to use the end very often though. I've not get had any knicks or cuts from the foil side.Charger is the same as other Phillips shaving products, which is handy if you have more than one (I also have a beard trimmer) as they use the same charging cable (not usb, it is a proprietary cable)It would benefit from something to help get to your back, with this bodygroomer you'll have to get someone else to do that unless you're super flexible!

What a super idea. Removing unwanted body hair is always a lot of drama - but this bodygroom system is an excellent solution, giving a quick result. These days it is the fashion for men to remove their body hair and this is the business for that job - at least for all the parts you can reach on your own, after that you need the help of a very good friend... And it's waterproof, so you can use it under the shower with no problems at all - which saves a lot of mess. But I have to say I think it is not just a great idea for the boys - there are a lot of us girls who have body hair issues - and this is definitely a great idea for us as well: for armpits, legs, bikini and any other locations we may have sprouted unwanted fur.It does a great job - no pain, no rashes, just hairless, smooth skin. Also, since the bodygroom also has various combs, you can also use it to trim as well as remove hair - which leaves your options open for all sorts of decorative effects, in whatever location that takes your fancy. And, although it is not meant for men's facial hair because it is too coarse, it is actually rather good for that fine facial fluff we girls tend to get after menopause. I can vouch for it.

Over the past few years, the number of body grooming type products has exploded across the markets. Shavers have appeared for an incredible range of different and very specific applications from beards, to legs and elsewhere. This Philips version takes a slightly different approach offering two types of trimmer in one and leaving it up to you what you do with it.Anyone who has a similar Philips face trimmer may well be familiar with the shaver charger that comes supplied with the unit. After a few hours of charging you get many hours of grooming leaving me to expect I won’t be charging it often. The unit itself is both waterproof and well built, with a neat design that allows good grip when holding towards one end or another. The trimmer is effective but only has a limited five lengths while the closer shave is very strong – I wouldn’t want to put this near sensitive skin.Overall therefore, this compares well against other items I’ve tried in the market. It’s well built, effective and innovative in design though a little more aggressive than I would have liked. Probably still one of the market leaders out there, from me it comes recommended.

This is a well-made shaver by Philips and is supplied in a branded box with a folding stand/charger, charging lead with power supply, cleaning brush, and instructions. The shaver looks to be well made and feels comfortable to hold with a nice weight to it. On one end you have clippers with a built-in adjustable comb for initial grooming, and on the other, you have a foil head for finishing off.The clippers are effective and protected by an adjustable comb that can be removed for a closer cut. However, they are quite large and aggressive for sensitive areas and you need the comb to be used in those circumstances. The foil is effective on short hairs but again is quite large and has to be used with discretion! The trimmer charges up easily and is supplied with a power supply that plugs into a three pin socket which is a good feature. The shaver has a charging light and seems to have a good battery life irrespective of which trimmer is used. Both sides are easy to clean and overall this is a well made and effective trimmer if a little on the bulky side.

Arrived promptly. All in good shape. One of the best body groomers I have used. I got the 39 over the 40 model to save a little extra and I feel it still does an amazing job. I think battery life is better with 40 but I had no problems with my 39 once it was charged. The charger stand is cool. Both ends work well. The trimmer is excellent especially for close smooth work on the "below the waist". You still need to pull skin flat for the happy sack. If you don't and complain you got nicked well....I don't know what to say to you that doesn't scream common sense. With that said, even when you cant flatten all areas perfectly, it still gives a smooth close shave without nicking at all.Really top quality for its use. Not really designed for facial hair so do not purchase this for that reason. This product is the best from neck down. I am a very happy customer. Plus - you get a 2 year warranty from Philips and a 5 year warranty if you want to go with the 40 model. Hope this review helps. Hope this helps.

When I started looking for a body groomer, I kept looking at men's grooming tools. You know, the beard trimmer/nasal hair trimmer type things.Once I'd genned up on what I was really after (a leg and body shaver tool) the available choices narrowed considerably. I really wanted to buy a cheap groomer, but the more reviews I read (not just on this site) the more it seemed that I would have to buy the top dollar groomer - the Philips 7000.Having taken the plunge, I was glad I did! The R&D budget for this must have been significant, it does its job so well. Very effective on all parts of the body, minimal discomfort in use, and so easy to use.A small gripe - I wish the longer hair trimmer went down to 1mm instead of 3.That would avoid the awkward crossover point between the 2 heads - the foil part can tug a little with the longer hair.Really, don't waste time trying to save money by not buying this - it really is worth the money. Or as they say - Pay cheap, get cheap!

Body hair, we all have it, and the majority of us try to tame it. I feel like this used to be more women, though these days men have the same expectation. This is what the Philips Series 7000 trimmer is designed to do. Personally, I've used similar devices in the past, but never one this well thought out.I have to say, with that in mind, this is an excellent device. One side is designed to shorten hair with standard clippers that has a selectable length extension, the other is a trimmer with bodysafe design meaning you're less likely to cause damage to your skin.In use I found this to work really well, it cut through a lot of hair in a short amount of time and the two different heads complimented each other well. The battery held for almost half an hour which was more than enough time. This being said, the charger design was odd and fiddly and just unnecessary.Overall this trimmer works really well, fiddly charger aside there's nothing I'd change about it

This is the 3rd version on this product I've bought, having only needed to replace older models due to battery life becoming diminished. (They really should make them so the batters can be changed... easily)This one seems to be an improvement on what was already a good design. It glides without snagging or pulling hair. Trims quickly without having to repeatedly go over areas. Possibly slightly quieter than the older model. Not sure why they have done away with the charging cradle, I quite liked that. This rubber flap over the charging port will surely end up letting in water. Not that I've used it wet yet as from experience with previous models they used to clog up a bit when hair was wet.Allin all I would recommend this as it does everything you need in 1 units. Can't give it 5 stars though simply because of the price. I really do wish they weren't so damn expensive.

Great product. I had a previous version of this but this top of the range upgraded version is far superior. Can do all intimate areas with pulling of snagging.Having the trimmer as a separate dedicated end rather than a comb attached is a big improvement.- separate comb attachment are easy to lose, but these are built into a sliding single comb on this model.- the hair fall out from under the graded trimmer end rather than requureing attachment to be removed to unplug it.Really like the new charging points on sides of trimmer. More waterproof design and sits in charging cradle better. Cradle folds for easier storage. The longer combined length means i can reach all parts of my back without the need for any attachments to extend reach.Length of charge seems fine.Easily enough to do my whole body in one go.

I was wavering about this or similar products for a long time, but finally decided to try it out. Now, like a lot of us blokes, I'm pretty averse to cuts, nips, pulls or grazes in my private regions, so I was nervous.I approached my first attempt with trepidation, waiting for that first sack snip. But nothing. No matter how hard I tried (within reason), I couldn't damaged myself. Not a scratch. I stopped holding my breath...Yes, this really is a revelation. Works all over and is comfortable to use. Battery lasts ages and ages. It's my first product of this type that I've ever had confidence in, and leaves nadgers and all smooth as a baby's bum! (Don't use it on a baby's bum though).Highly effective, but it's not really a spectator sport, so probably best not to invite the missus to watch.Well done, Philips.
