This classic plus bottle set consists of two 125ml/4oz bottles which are suitable from newborn. They come with size 1 teats which are the first teat size that Philips Avent do and again are suitable from newborn. As your baby grows you can swap the teats for the next size up and so the bottles should last maybe a month to two months until your baby's appetite grows enough to require a larger bottle. Why then not just go for the larger bottles some may ask and the answer is down to the measurement markings, as these smaller bottles show the smaller fluid measurements as a newborn starts life off with a little tummy until they start growing. The bottle's have both ml and fluid UK and USA oz measurements. The bottles also have an anti colic valve system on the teat to help reduce the chance of your little one becoming colicky. The valve is tiny in comparison to other brands valves and is built into the teat very discreetly. I always just gently squeeze the valve before use on a new bottle to make sure that the valve is open and not stuck closed from manufacturing and this valve is so tiny it is a little hard to do but can be squeezed. As with other Philips bottles the bottles are really easy to disassemble and assemble with the bottle part, teat ring, teat and lid making up the bottle. The bottles are BPA free, which is normal for the Philips Avent range and fit comfortably in your hand for when feeding your little one. Philips recommend changing the teat every three months but I think by the time three months arrives from using these 125ml bottles that you would probably have gone onto the next bottle size up by then.Teats are available in:Size 1 - Newborn plus

This is a great set of 2, 4oz feeding bottles. These bottles are perfect for new babies from newborn, who only have smaller feeds. Usually about 2 oz is sufficient for a new born, so it is too little to put in a bigger bottle, so these are just right for those small feeds and gradual increase as baby grows. The teats are soft and have a natural nipple shape. The teats are also clinically proven to reduce colic due to the design, which has a valve that flexes as baby suckles, meaning that air flows back into the bottle instead of into babies tummy. Teats are recommended to be replaced every 3 months, due to hygienic reasons. The teats on these have a slower flow rate to suit a new babies suckle rate,as they have only one hole in the end, so as baby grows and feeds more, you can buy extra teats that have a higher flow rate (extra teats are available separately). The teats are available in most shops that sell baby bottles in the Avent range and they are colour coded so you can easily identify the different teats. The Avent range of bottles are really easy to assemble and lids are interchangeable between the classic range of bottles and sippy cup lids. You can even attach the Avent breast pump lid to these bottles and pump straight into the bottle, so there is no need for separate storage bottles for pumping breast milk. The bottle is comfortable to hold and the wide neck means it is easy to clean. I have used these bottles in a microwave steam sterilizer safely too.Avent is a trusted brand recommended by mums and I am a mum of 4 who has been using the Avent range for over 10 years and I am very happy to recommend their products.

These 2 bottles come in a thin cardboard box. These are perhaps not a necessary purchase - you can always fill a full sized bottle with less milk and if you're on a budget I would just buy large. You can't do better than Avent bottles in my experience of trying all the brands. The plastic teats you get are superior and last longer than other brands even in the dishwasher. The bottles also hold their shape and markings well with minimal discoloration. They don't scratch as much as other bottles therefore presumably less chance of harbouring bacteria. They are easy to clean and not too fiddly to assemble. These are just the bottles, neck ring, teats and lids. These aren't the ones with the anti leak rings you put inside.Although I always lost the anti leak rings anyway.I always use a microwaveable steriliser after dishwashing bottles and these smaller bottles mean you can fit more in compared to taller full sized bottles . I wouldn't persevere long with the no 1 teats on the 4oz bottles though as the flow is too slow. Go straight to no 2 if your baby is getting frustrated. The numbers are helpfully on the teats. These bottles come with the no 1 teats.Even if you exclusively breastfeed these bottles are helpful for a little cooled boiled water especially in hot weather. And in an emergency it's best to have a set in and some premixed milk cartons in case mum is indisposed. Trust me you don't want to be panicking at 3am in the morning for this stuff.

Choosing a bottle for a baby is not like many of the products you would pick up.  You may usually just buy whatever is on offer, does it really matter what peanut butter you buy, or detergent?  The issue with baby bottle is that your baby can become very use to one type and only want to feed using this type of bottle.  This goes as far as having to use the same brand of dummy too, lest they spit it out!  Therefore, a little research is necessary amongst the big bottle players and 'Philips  Avent' is one of the biggest. The 'Philips Avent Classic+ Feeding Bottle' is a great indication of the quality that the bottles have.  An individual bottle is not overly cheap, but they should easily last the lifespan they are required, including countless sterilisation cycles.  You can also easily change the teats on the bottle for when your baby gets older. For those people who have bought different elements of the 'Avent' range, these two bottles fit in with the rest very easily. This particular range of bottle is the + which means that they have a special teat that reduces colic.  Having not really used a colic inducing bottle it is hard to say how well these work, but as an actual feeding bottle it works very well.  There are simple measures on the side of the bottles and a short guide on how best to use them in the pack.  You could do a lot worse than hitching your wagon to this range as the quality breeds confidence.

This is a lovely set of two 4oz/125ml feeding bottles from the Avent Classic+ range. They come supplied with teats – marked size 1 for newborns – and the graduation lines on the bottle are clearly numbered for precise measurement. The screw rings and teats in this range are compatible with all Classic+ bottles, so you can interchange, should you so wish. The teats have been designed with a valve to help reduce colic - and anyone who has seen a baby with this painful, distressing condition will value this innovation. I know that some people feel that buying 4oz bottles is not essential, that you can use a larger bottle just as well - and they are correct. However, I’ve always found that at this stage, you can never have too many bottles - and personally, I do prefer the satisfaction of using the smaller size for a newborn. I find that all the bottles in the Classic+ range have a lovely feel to them and fit comfortably in my hand. This bottle is simple and quick to assemble and the relatively wide neck makes it easier to clean out dried bits of milk. Another thing I like about this brand of bottles is that even after numerous sterilizing sessions, they retain their sheen and markings better than others. We’ve used the Avent brand of bottles and cups for years and they are my first choice for quality. I have no hesitation in recommending these lovely Classic+ bottles.

You can't go wrong with the Philips Avent range, I'm always a big fan of them. They were simple enough with our first baby, and now that the redesign gives them fewer parts (or one fewer part), they're now ever so slightly better. As always, the bottles are sturdy- despite being made of thin plastic, they will withstand an awful lot of dropping and abuse. They're so light that slightly older babies can begin to hold them themselves, to an extent, and the slightly tapered side helps with that too.You can tell from the way the baby reacts that the drinking flow is good and is what they expect- they don't have to suck too hard to get the milk, but neither do they get drowned in an excessive pour. It's really difficult to get them to leak, providing you've screwed the top on with reasonable force.Avent bottles are genuinely excellent and this pair of 125ml bottles is no exception. The Classic+ is only a minor step up from the Classic, but definitely a bottle I wouldn't hesitate to recommend.

A very high quality babies milk bottle, made from a very high grade of clear silicone type plastic giving an almost crystal or glass look to the bottle. The bottles are ergonomically designed to be comfortable to hold for the feeder as well as a babies own small hands. The side of the bottle is clearly marked in both metric and imperial measures (ml and oz) for convenience. The teat size supplied is the smallest available and suitable for newborn baby. The bottles are fitted an anti colic valve system discreetly incorporated into the teat and helps prevent a baby unnecessarily ingesting too much air during the natural process of drinking. The bottle is easy to assemble and dis assemble consisting of just the bottle, teat ring, teat and lid making it easy to clean and put back together again. The pricing for a branded bottle of this quality compares extremely well with others you are getting two bottles for the price, I would highly recommend these Philips Avent range over others.

The name Avent is famous with many mothers of young babies. Its a name to be trusted as it truly works for all bottle fed babies. In the box you get 2 bottle for 9 oz formula. Perfect for a newborn who only takes a couple of oz per feed. Or the bottle can be used for cooled boiled water for the older baby. The bottles have measures in metric and oz so its perfect for grannies and new mums alike. Being a grandma i find the oz easier to use when mixing formula for the grandchildren. These bottles are perfect for the first 6 months of a babies life if they are bottle fed. They can then go on to the sip cubs by Avent which are brilliant for cooled boiled water or follow on milk. The bottles all have teats suitable for a newborn, and the bottle cups to keep the teat clean and sterile. All in all this a quality starter set for any new baby. The bottles are top quality and will last your baby for as long as you want to give it a bottle and teat.

Avent Classic Bottles are really, in my opinion, the best for newborns. These are 4oz and have newborn teats – but you can use larger Avent teats as your baby grows. Considering the amount they hold, these will probably be suitable for the first three months, until your baby starts increasing the amount they take in each feed.Easy to assemble and clean, I much prefer the wide neck of the Avent bottles. Unlike other makes, the teat pulls through and fits snugly, without milk dribbling or the teat ‘pulling through’ because they are too soft. With a small baby, you will spend much of your time feeding and so it is worthwhile buying bottles which are comfortable to hold and hygienic to clean,so you feel you are giving baby the best start. These are also clinically proven to reduce colic and I am really unable to think of anything negative to say about them. A good buy for newborns and parents alike.

The Philips Avent Classic+ Feeding Bottle SCF560/27 is a set of two 4oz/125ml feeding bottles from their Classic+ range. Included with the bottles are newborn teats, which are suitable from birth. You can change teat sizes as baby grows, thus discouraging needless waste of entire bottles. The teats feature the anti colic system for which Avent have become renowned. This helps to prevent extra air getting into baby, and keeps baby feeling more comfortable than they might otherwise feel. The bottles and teats are tremendously easy to clean, and a quick swish with an Avent bottle brush end tip, will safely clean out the teat valve, without damaging it in any way.Overall,I cannot find anything to fault with these great bottles. I find that Avent bottles and teats are very durable, and I believe that these will be just as long-lasting as previous ones. Great quality for baby.

An excellent set of two small bottles for new born and new born plus babies, the bottles hold 4 ounces each so are not suitable for older babies who will need larger feeds than this..Made by a quality company these bottles are a super addition to your babies 'must haves' and are simplicity itself to use and to cleanThe bottles are plastic (Isnt everthing nowadays?) have measurements in metric and Imperial as well as American ounces too.The bottles have teats that are soft and obviously nipple shaped, with an anti colic system incorporated into the teat (perhaps I am too old but I have never heard of this before) which is a great idea!A superb set to add to your baby list!

These bottles are great for getting started with bottle feeding. They have less parts than the old-style Classic bottles (there is no blue ring to insert into the lid) so they are easier to wash and assemble. The anti-colic valves in the silicone teats worked very well, my son took to these bottles very fast and was a happier baby. These are the small newborn size bottles, with the slow-flow teats, so you'll need to think about getting enough to have in rotation (some sterile and ready to use while others are in the dishwasher/sink etc), and by about 3 months you'll probably need the bigger size bottles and Stage 2 teats, which are also excellent. 5 stars

This pack contains two 125ml/4oz bottles, perfect for newborn babies 0-3 months or so. The teat is the smallest size Philips offer (size 1) and the volume of milk held is suitable for a single feed for babies at this age. You can swap out the teats and the bottle as your baby grows, or of course just buy a bottle the next size up, it depends what you and your child need. These bottles come with a special valve system they have to reduce vacuum build up in the bottle and so help to reduce colic. Size wise, they fit comfortably into the palm of a single hand, and have both imperial and metric units of measurement. The bottles are also BPA free.

These are smaller bottles meant for use with much younger babies. We used them for our little one up until about 3 months. As with most bottle ranges they fit the manual and electric breast pumps to allow expressing but also work perfectly fine for formula. As with all the avent classic range they use the anti collic ring to provide a tight seal but still allow air in for easier feeding. With the ease that the teat and cap can be dismantled it makes cleaning really easy and also allows for swapping of the teats for faster flow as the little ones grow. These are a core part of our baby care kit now and non of the other brands come close

You can never have enough bottles when you have a baby – no matter how many bottles you have there will always come a time when you simply can’t put your hand an on clean one – so, from my point of view, extra bottles never go a miss.In the Phillips Avent SCF560/27 Classic Starter Set there are:- 2 @ 125ml bottles- 2 newborn teatsThe bottles are the perfect addition to the Philips Expressing Pumps and Philips steriliser we have.It is a good add-on set for those using Philips, but they will not fit other pumps so you may need to check with the baby’s mum to ensure that you are getting the right equipment.
