For a sucralose-based shake, this actually has a lovely, dessert taste, and a nice, thick but smooth consistency. If I'm comparing the vanilla cheesecake flavour to plain old vanilla shakes, I'd say this one has a definite 'cakey' hint. Yum. I've been using a few PhD protein / nutrition support products lately, and I have to say that I'm very impressed on taste overall across the range - this continues that good trend. The nutritional mix is quite well-balanced for a protein-heavy shake, and the decent carb content (and extremely low sugar) combined with low sat fats and lots of vitamin and mineral support make it a reliable choice for a meal replacement shake on a low-fat,calorie-controlled diet. The boosted protein (nearly 50% of the content) means it doubles nicely as a gym shake too - I've been using it as an alternative protein boost as part of a fitness / building regime, so the product can fit neatly into lots of health-based nutrition goals. Nice to know that it's not just protein, but a bit of a vitamin boost at the same time. You get a bit less than a full kilo of powder here, which makes it slightly less value-for-money than some competitor products (Amazon's own brand, for example, gives you better value gram for gram). That said, it has all the extra goodies as well as the protein. And, to be honest, I'd pay the little extra just for this flavour from the range, which is a complete winner, and a nice alternative from the usual boring chocolate / strawberry ones you get if you just check out the cheaper ranges.✅Low sat fat. ✅Super low sugar. ✅High protein content. Definitely adding this to my shake rotation!

I will admit, reviewing this was speaking to the converted, as I already use PhD shakes. Not this particular style of shake however, the ones I’ve tried I’ve been slightly lower in calories and protein content. This one is a satisfying meal replacement, containing 26 g of protein per serving, and 207 kcals. The two questions with all of these shakes are:A) Does it dissolve quickly without lumps?andB) Does it taste nice?Happily, the answer to both these questions is yes. It dissolves really easily, I used a shaker from another diet whey shake company with “fins”in the lid, that bash the lumps out of the whey.I wondered what vanilla cheesecake would taste like, and anticipated a slightly citrus taste.I’m not that great a fan of fruit flavoured shakes , so was resigned to not enjoying this as much as some of the others I have tried.I needn’t have worried. It’s a standard rich vanilla flavour, which really suits me, as I use these shakes for coffee and cereals. This one tasted particularly good with a Nespresso style Brazilian coffee. The whole point of the shake is to leave you feeling full afterwards, and to act as a meal replacement. To fill you up, this particular shake uses slightly more powder than some other brands. However, it does mix with water, rather than with milk, making it economical, particularly if you choose to use nut milks, or similar.I really like this and would actually buy it, normally I buy either Belgian chocolate or salted caramel in this brand, both of which are absolutely gorgeous, but particularly the salted caramel. This one is almost as nice. High praise indeed.

This is a meal replacement drink - as such, it has a fully-rounded profile of nutrients designed to aid those trying to lose or control their weight. It has a minimum of sugar - which is good - but a very sweet artificial taste. Anyone who has tried these drinks before, be it protein filled gym drinks or weight control meal replacements, will be aware of the taste issue - it matters at first, but after a while you just get used to it and drink it regardless.PhD are a really good brand - they make some of the best supplements out there, so you know that you're getting the best. I'm a bit perturbed by the price as it's only a small jar (770g).Of course,I'm duty-bound to point out that this product isn't essential if you want to lose weight; eating fibre will quell hunger pangs, and reducing carbs dramatically will be a massive influence. Don't snack between meals!Having said that, if you are sticking religiously to a diet, I can see how a product like this might be useful every so often; it sticks roughly to the recommended macro ratios of 40:40:20 so there's no reason not to give it a go if you think it might help somehow. It certainly has a full range of ingredients from vitamins to BCAAs.Personally I world rather eat eggs, steamed vegetables and meat as my meals, but this makes a convenient and quick way to get some nutrients in.One last thing - I world recommend getting a shaker bottle; it's much easier to mix with one. When you just stir it, it leaves lumps. Shaking is much more vigorous.

I have been buying a market leading meal replacement powder which is really helping me lose weight, so when I was offered this, I decided to try it for a change. I am very impressed with the nutritional content, as I think it is important to ensure you maintain a healthy balance when dieting and this meal replacement contains everything you need. Taste is also very important especially if you are going to be using it everyday, and I have found that some supermarket own brand meal replacement powders are bland and weak which makes them a chore rather than a pleasure. I am really pleased with this PHD vanilla cheesecake flavour, it is sweet but delicious, and even substituting water for skimmed milk produces a thick satisfying drink.Using the scoop provided and my shaker, it blends easily making a lump free shake, which is very satisfying and stops me wanting to snack mid morning. The instructions state that you can use it to replace 2 meals for faster weight loss, but I am having it for breakfast which works well and is so quick and easy. I will definitely try the other flavours now that I have discovered this brand, and can see this becoming my favourite over other brands, which aren't as thick when made up, and don't come in this flavour.

So my review will be on the quality of this product and not on the actually end results as the end results will effect people differently depending on calorie intake and fitness levels.KPI-770g (55g scoops)26g protein0.8g Sugar209Kcal per scoop3.8g fibre3.6g Fat0.68g SaltMix - Mixes great better than most proteins on the market no lumps, The recommend scoops intake 2 scoops at 55g each to 300ml but I find this to be very thick once so I use just one scoop in 300ml of water twice a day and the mix is still thick leaving you full. See my video.Taste - I got the double chocolate which is very sweet for those of us that have a sweet tooth.it has a chocolate ready break smell to it which is very intense when opening the tub and I really that when dieting adding something sweet into your meal plan.Presentation - The presentation on this product is outstanding everything is clearly labelled on the tub (see pictures), Mentioning Tubs it's nice to get a tub rather than the pouch you get with the diet whey, Product feels more premium with that alone.Price - Now you can buy cheaper on the market but is cheaper always better, you know the old saying buy cheap buy twice really comes into play with this product.

I have not tried meal replacements before although I use Protein shakes a lot after workouts. I am not over or under weight but my appetite is poor and as I workout regularly I use the protein shakes to boost my calories. This is in fact very similar. When mixed with water it is 376 kcal, as I mix with milk it is of course more. was a little bit concerned about the fat levels 5.8 g per 100 mms until i noticed that only 1 gm of that is saturated. The other values were all similar to the shakes I take. I mixed it in my Ninja and found the taste fairly just a little bit bland but certainly palatable. It is not something that would sicken you if you used it over a long period because of that slight blandness It is,I suppose, unfair of me to say I lost no weight but of course this was my aim and i did use it as a boost to my calories so I was very happy. Used properly I would think it could be a very good substitute for lunch when at work or at home. I like

Most people buy this to lose weight. I'm the opposite and wanted something to help me gain weight! I've always been very thin and found it difficult to put on any weight no matter what I've tried.I've been using this as an extra 'snack' meal and it helps! Rather than reaching for crisps or biscuits, this feels like a healthier (and cheaper!) option to add a few extra easy-calories to my diet. Many products marketed explicitly for weight-gain are filled with maltodextrin which has a very high-glycemic index and gives me a massive 'sugar crash' (complete with faintness, blurred vision, trembling etc - and no, I'm not diabetic!)This doesn't contain maltodextrin, and is very low in sugar so it's perfect for my needs.Plus,it tastes great - very sweet! Not sure how given the absence on sugar but I'm not complaining!

Whenever I look at products I look at the PER 100g of product labels as manufacturers often try and slip around you by varying serving sizes or making it difficult to compare to other rival productsIn this case the Sugar is comparable and so is the protein and carbohydrate count. The flavour is not bad. The ONLY two things I was going to mark them down on was their Protein source of milk and Soya. There are a lot of products out there that are using more plant and veg and fruit Proteins to generate a variety for the body to utilise. However you then realise that cost 20% more .... so you can't really take a star off for that to be fair.So as I said ... fair price for a fair product ...just be aware there's better if you want it but it costs more.

I exercise regularly and just wanted to shift a few more pounds before my holiday. I've always been a little sceptical about meal replacement products as most of the people I know who have taken these balloon once they stop. However my PT recommended PhD so I thought I'd give it a go. It taste surprising good, mixes well and taste like a treat rather than something you have to eat. I've been taking it a lunch-time and it is fantastic. Rather than crisps & sandwiches I feel I am having healthy meal and it stops me snacking in the afternoon. So far so good I've lost 5 pounds! I started with the Choc peanut which was good but the Vanilla is even more delicious.I'd highly recommend to anyone who just wants a little help to lose a few more pounds.

As a professional cheesecake connoisseur who also values a hard hot bod, I was somewhat intrigued to find that PhD were releasing a vanilla, surely the godfather of cheesecake flavourings, option of their Diet Whey product, one that has sated my desire for a tasty, yet bulk-providing shake. From soufflé-loving Japan to hard baked New York, I can’t even begin to recall the number of cheesecakes I’ve sampled in the hope of discovering the perfect sweet for my parent publication however this, in all its powdery glory, gets pretty d*rn close in my opinion. The flavour is nutty, yet creamy. Smooth, but with a hint of bite. And my abs have never been blasted so hard. All in all an 11/10, would drink again. And so should you for the first time!

Flavour-wise this is a pretty decent product. The powder mixes fairly easily when shaken or blended, and the resulting drink isn't overly gritty or powdery. The vanilla flavour is nice and strong, and there's a sort of nutty, biscuit taste that really does give this a cheesecake flavour. The price point is quite steep - made up with two scoops of powder as directed, you get 14 servings (one-two weeks' worth of substitute meals at the recommended rate of one or two per day), so this is well over a pound per drink. The scoop is provided. This is an over packaged product. I know it's normal for there to be some settling of powders, but the tub this is supplied in is huge, and when opened proves to be roughly half full.

I usually have a protein shake for breakfast as I'm not one for eating first thing in the morning and over the years I have tried quite a variety of makes and flavours...this one from PhD Nutrition is really rather good.I received the vanilla cheesecake flavour and I must say, it is quite delicious. This shake has a minimum of 25g of protein as well as wholegrain oats and a whole heap of vitamins and minerals. I've been drinking one of these every morning for the last nine days...it's lovely mixed in a blender with half water and half milk with plenty of ice cubes thrown in, it comes out really thick and creamy. This shake fills me up nicely and I'm rarely hungry until my evening meal.Recommended

PhD Nutrition Diet Whey Lean Meal Replacement Powder, Vanilla CheesecakeWhat you get.The plastic pot contains 770g of whey diet protein. This one is vanilla cheesecake flavour.Mixing.You can mix it with cold water or skimmed milk. Best mixed in a blender to get a smooth drink. I tried just mixing it with a fork but could not get all the lumps out.Taste.More cheese than vanilla in my opinion. I was not that keen on the flavour, had a hint of sour milk. But taste is subjective and others may like it.Overall.Good ingredients and a good source of protein but I was not keen on the flavour. Not to put you off as each to his own with flavour. As a source of quality protein it is very good.

I need to lose a few pounds and I lined up to give this a go in January (I am writing this just before Xmas) but I've tried it three times just to get a feel for how hard it is and I was pleasantly surprised. It tastes quite nice, if a bit samish, so you enjoy the first few sips a lot more than the last few. But it satisfies me for quite a long while and didn't leave me feeling hungry for a few hours. I tried it with water and skimmed milk and it's definitely a lot nicer with milk. I used a blender with both, but it seemed a lot more powdery with water. Because the milk is thicker the powder just mixes better with it. This can replace either one or two meals a day I think.

PhD's diet whey lean does what it says on the tin. It's an excellent protein-based meal replacement shake and tastes good. It mixes in well and, in my case, suppresses appetite. My query is that the flavours of this brand are all major podge puds: Vanilla Cheesecake, Belgian Chocolate, Peanut Butter etc. Why can't there be healthy flavours like Earl Grey Tea, Pomegranate, Orange etc?I need several variants of this product, as Vanilla Cheesecake every day for two weeks is a little boring. That said, it's a great product, boosted with vitamins and minerals, so in this case, goodness and slimming potential is oozing from even the most unhealthy of recipes.
