Much cheaper than buying a whole new unit. I was unsure if this was the suitable for my unit, so I checked the measurements, and had a look on the PetSafe/StayWell website (as suggested by another reviewer). The door is slightly frosted, but there is a clear panel where the logo is situated. Our cat uses that to look outside. It's just the right height for him. He and the cat from next door can bat at each other without getting injured (we had problems with another cat coming in, so for now I've made the flap only open outwards). When correctly assembled the logo will face inside. Very easy to fit. Section above where the flap goes has two arrow type things pointing upwards. Place thumbs on these,

Took me half an hour to work out why the darn thing didn't work! Here is the key to putting it in............. when you fit the flap into the U bit, make sure you flip it round so that the metal bit on the bottom is on the 'outside' of the rim! I was going to send it back and get a whole new insert, but then by accident I realised what the problem was. This is not mentioned in the instructions. So, if you put yours in and it won't push through from the inside, you have done what i have done. Take it out again and flip it over so the metal bit is behind the bottom 'rim' on the U flap.............. presto. So, totally worth the 5 stars for not having to replace the whole flap!

Convenient that part is available saves on expense and time and is kinder to the Environment. Prompt delivery, reasonable well packaged and simplicity itself to install- just make a mental note that the flap lays behind the rim so that it can flap by itself backwards towards the outside of the property. Took the opportunity to remove the whole faceplate and dunk wash it. A quick wipe of the attached section in situ and the whole mechanism looks and is working as good as new after 6 years. Who knows might get another 6 years out of it! A quality product fairly priced both the original cat flap and the replacement part.

I bought this replacement cat flap as the old one had cracked.I didn't know how it had happened until I had fitted this new one(very easy job by the way),and then I caught our ginger tom head butting the new one. He can actually get the flap to spring over the red retainer and make his escape! I have had to make a wooden cover that fits over the entire flap assembly,and attach heavy duty velcro strips right round the door - We have never had this sort of trouble with any of our other cats, so please don't let it put you off buying a Staywell catflap - there can't be too many hard headed cats' like ours!

I had no problems with this replacement. The same quality as the original flap, and perfect fit. My only criticism is the same as others have mentioned. It's a pity that the manufacturers don't make the centre panel completely clear so that a cat can see through to the outside. We live in the country where wild life could pose a threat to our cat, e.g. foxes. Sensibly, he always carefully checks what's outside before leaving by sniffing the air first etc., and I often see him straining to look through the tiny bit of clear plastic that's available to him before he even pokes his nose out.

Our tribe of Bengal cats seem to take delight in charging at the cat flap from the other end of the garden, it trying (too successfully) to break out when it’s locked at night. The result is a broken flap door on a regular basis.This spare part allows the flap to be got operational again in a couple of minutes (much to their annoyance). It is expensive for what is just a piece of clear plastic with a name on it, but it’s still cheaper and less hassle than having to change an entire cat flap.More importantly, as the cat flaps themselves change it also saves having to recut the door.

idk really what to write about it. it was delivered a bit late because of snow calamity in british isles in the begining of march-which was a reason why i got that flap in the first place- i didn't mind a hole in the back door- that corridor can be shut in case of wind, but a pile of snow that was blown in was a problem and triggered me to get a replacement flap. so i installed it easily, by directions sent along with it and now everyone's happy... except cat's because i can lock them out when they insist bringing me every dead mouse and bird from neighbourhood.

This is the second time I have had to replace the clear flap on my Petsafe 300 catflap. It is very easy to replace and the instructions are easy to follow. I believe the flap becomes more brittle with age and starts to crack until a very determined cat finally breaks through it when it is locked. Normally from inside to outside. That said we have had the cat flap for over 20 years now and have only replaced the flap twice in that time - so par for the course. I am glad that the spares availability is so good.

Bought this product to replace broken flap caused by intruder ? cat at night, have been locking cat flat to keep this cat from coming in and stealing my cats food. Found old flat broken in half, first night heard crashing against new flap chased off would be intruder but cat flap has held out, now leaving open again but blocking from inside. So pleased cat flat has held out but worried about locking as don't want to replace again. Have also got infra red tag for my cat but still this predator was getting in.

Didn’t know they sold these individually, saved me spending out £30+ at pets at home. Our cat broke ours (I don’t know how) came down on a frosty morning to find a hole in the door!I wasent sure what catflap we had as brought long time ago but there’s a code at the top and I put into amazon and it brought up this product and it fits and works minimal packaging which is great for the environment - only the box from pet safe it came in as seen in amazons picture. Very happy and a much warmer house

I initially thought this was easy to install until I could only get it to work so that the cat could come in but not go out. It was only after reading a previous reviewer (thank you) that he mentioned you needed to not fit it into the U bracket which seemed the natural course but you needed to bring the flat over the top so that it fits in front of the U bracket. This is not mentioned in the instructions at all so was a bit of a head scratcher. Great product though now it is fitted.

After waiting weeks for a "handyman" to come and fit two replacements cat flaps, I saw these online and heartened by the reviews, I sent for three. They were very easy to install (and I`m a female disabled OAP!) and the actual doors got such a good cleaning for a change that my ginger boy thought he`d come to the wrong house (no duck tape either!) and I had to open the main door to convince him he`d not made a mistake. Very pleased to have bought them and I have one in reserve!

This is second one I have had and so much better than having to buy new flap. It is very easy to fit. Our ginger boy is brave enough to have a scrap, behind the safety of a locked flap, with his arch enemy! It is never a good outcome for the plastic door flap. Have already ordered another for when it happens again. Nothing wrong with he flap but plastic will only take so much punishment.

This has done the job perfectly. next doors cat's a bit of a bruiser and when I locked the flap to stop him coming in he forced his way in and broke it. I thought I would have to get a whole new cat flap till I saw this part. it was easy to fit despite the fact I didn't notice the instructions. When I saw them it was apparent it would have been much easier if I'd found them first!

I've replaced a few cat flaps over the years because the door has got damaged by fighting cats, or on one occasion, extremely high winds. Wish I'd known earlier you could just buy the replacement door - much cheaper than purchasing the whole thing all over again, and easier for me to fit. Thinking of buying another as a spare - just in case.
