Having bought a couple of these Easy Walk harnesses (this one in a medium and the original in a medium/large), it has taken a while to get around to writing this review, as I wanted to give time for me and my two border collies to get used to them! For those of you who have pullers or reactive lungers and are struggling to get anywhere with the training (which includes me!), then these are really helping. I'm finding with the front clip attachment, they can't pull as much, and if they do, then it's easier for me to correct. Also, if they do react (to a bus/motorbike or certain dogs), then they actually spin around and end up facing me. It's not sorting out all of the pulling or reactivity - that can only be done with training, but it is giving me better control of them, which does seem to be calming them down.On the less positive side, I found it difficult to get what I thought was the right fit, even after reading about how to fit them and seeing the videos. No matter how I try and adjust the straps, the underbelly buckle always seems to be too close to the "armpit" - I cannot see any chafing as of yet, but I'm keeping an eye on it. Also, it's a tricky balance between having the straps too tight or too loose. I made the mistake of firstly trying to fit them whilst they were sat down - they definitely need to be standing to get the right fit, but if you take too much time, you'll be fighting against fed-up, wriggly balls of fur!In summary, I can see how these harnesses have had both negative and positive reviews, but if you can get the right fit, it may just make your walks with your dog(s) much more pleasurable.

This harness is sturdy and durable. It is made from strong webbing, is stitched to a high standard and has a fleecy type of ling making it soft and comfortable for the dog. It comes with a black lead which is also tough and strong. The only improvement that could be made is to have the same fleecy lining which is on the harness on the inside of the handle on the lead to make it comfortable for whoever is holding the lead when out walking.I cannot fault the harness it is easy to put on over the head and clip the tummy strap .The lead clips on at the front of the harness rather than on the having a clip on top of the harness on the dogs back, this small but effective difference must be what stops the pulling It is a bit fiddly to get the size right but that is the same with all harnesses but once this is done it stays put so you only have to do it once. I have a young springer who pulls especially when he sees something that interests him then I get a sudden jerk which has in the past really hurt. Not with this harness, he walked beautifully no pulling and no jerking, no getting agitated because it is rubbing as it does not rub him at all.I have tried harnesses which go under his armpits so to speak and made him sore.We have used this six times now and both myself and my dog are happy with it.

WALKING HARNESS================It's quite a solid construction in a pleasant blue colour. It has nice neat stitching and it looks well-made and durable.CLASSIC=======I also have a dog leash and this compliments it as a well fitting harness.HANDSOME==========The dog looks handsome in the park in this. I'm sure other dogs are looking and thinking what an outstanding handsome dog. (maybe it's just me.)EASY====East to put on, easy to wear and easy to walk with. No chaffing or less control.I find the dog is a little less prone to tugging and pulling pressure, which makes the walking comfortable for both of us.CHOKE======I don't like the collars that are prone to choking the dog. With this it's a perfect compromise.CAN YOU LEAVE ON ALL THE TIME?=============================The dog wears it all the time when he is with me. I don't leave it on when he is unattended as he's chewed a few leads before but it's also simple to take on and off.HYPER======My Dog can be pretty hyper around other dogs when we are out and about walking. The straps are gently around the body and legs which allow me to pull him back when he gets vigorous. (and no choking)OVERALL========Well made and nice looking.

This is a very good dog harness made out of good thick webbing. On the back of the webbing is neoprene so it does not rub against the dogs skin and it also dries quite quickly. All the rings and buckles seem to be fairly sturdy. It also came with a good length reflective dog lead.Due to the accuracy needed in getting the harness in the correct position on the dog, it was actually initially quite hard to fit to our dog due to her long fur; this obviously will not be such an issue on shorthaired dogs. We did get there in the end though - it just took a bit of trial and error. The harness also comes with useful instructs on how to fit the harness correctly. There is also a Youtube video made by the company, which was also useful to watch.I think this harness definitely helps to reduce pulling by the dog. ‘Normal’ harnesses have the lead clip on the back, so the dog can always pull against the lead. With the easy walk harness, the lead clips onto the dogs chest between their front legs. This means that whenever they pull away, they are actually causing themselves to be directed towards you, the opposite movement to what they had in mind. Although my dog is not a big puller I can feel a difference.

Medium/LargeOMG IT WORKS! We have a beautiful Weimaraner X GSP 8 months old and she’s been pulling me so badly I’ve tried all sorts of training but she’s still young and gets excited about going out for her walks. I’m on the short side and she’s getting quite big now I was worried that she would be pulling me over when the weather turns icy not to mention the pain I have had in my shoulder and wrists walking to the field was becoming quite a problem for me.So after much reading we ordered this harness and put it on her and took her out.I asked my husband to come with us because I was worried she might get out or pull me over again.Anyway I cannot believe it, it works! It’s fantastic I am totally amazed she’s still a little flighty but I managed to walk her with one hand! She was like a different dog.We can now work with her more and continue her training. We’re going to take it off when we’re out for long walks in the country because she like to run and I think it might chafe her. But now I CAN GET TO THE FIELD!It’s fantastic! No one shouted who’s walking who!

Been trying this out for the past couple of days with our 18 month old Aussie Shepherd (Kaiser) who is always enthusiastically in a hurry to get everywhere and pulls like a bull.Initially we spent a few minutes adjusting the straps to fit the dog. This was straight forward and once the correct fitting was achieved it becomes dead easy and quick to put on and take off the dog. Basically its just one clip. Unlike some harnesses there's no awkward feeding legs through loops or the like. We just put over his neck and run a strap under his chest and clip together. Easy!On walks Kaiser still pulls but, it seems, not nearly so hard as with a standard collar and he is no longer straining for breath or gagging, which is a relief for us and I'm sure more comfortable for the him. His pulling is also easier to handle and my wife in particular says she feels she has more control over him and is more relaxed. The harness appears well made with both the material and stitching of good quality and, barring dogs chewing through it, I can foresee it lasting for many years.

What a difference a little thing like a chest collar makes. My 7 month old 30kg labrador puppy actually pulled my wife over & injured her arm & elbow, when we only used a half choker collar from Hyhug. He doesn't really pull & knows how to heel but he just gets excited & tries to get ahead of us to see what will be next. With this Petsafe Harness on he is moving slower, I think the below band helps as they are close to his front legs, which in my eyes seems to slow down his walking pace. When he does get distracted by other things it is easy to correct with a simple tug, & not a heavy hand yank like you would with a neck collar.Today I walked him with collar & harness, but I didn't put the lead to the harness,I put it on his collar, just as a silly (bloke thing) self imposed test, & he did not pull or tug once.If you are having issues with pulling or other walking issues, I can highly recommend this harness.

Very impressed by this practical, safe and well made harness. It's very easy to affix- simply pop both dogs legs through and clip at the top. Unlike other harnesses this is padded and also tethered so when your dog strains it doesn't cause any pain to him/her. This was just the right size for my little Jack Russell but the design allows for you to adapt the size of the harness to fit. So why not 5 stars? The excellent quality and durability of this product with its chunky connectors and padded straps makes it a bit heavy. This won't be an issue on larger sizes for larger dogs but I found the weight of this meant my dog found it a bit cumbersome. He's only a small light dog and it weighs him down quite a bit, especially when raining as the harness obviously gets wet. It's still an excellent product and may not affect your dog in this way so don't be put off buying but be aware this could be an issue

This harness is great. We have rescue greyhounds and bought this for out large male (we got M/L) who has a very strong prey drive and pulls hard on his walks. It was starting to hurt my shoulder and would cause him to cough and choke. We looked at the recommended no-pull harnesses for greyhounds due to their unique body shape and this one came in the top three so decided to give it a go and we have a different dog. This worked instantly and now he walks to heel with no pulling at all but is still enthusiastic for his walks and I feel I could walk for miles now and enjoy every minute. The fit seems very comfotrable and he seems happier to have the head freedom. The claps are strong and although one of them sits just behind his shoulder, iut doesn't rub but moves nicely with him as he walks. It's always a bit of a gamble when you buy these things but we can't recommend this enough.

It works!!! I have an 18 month border collie who constantly drags me on a walk. This was highly recommended to me by a border collie Facebook group. I've tried other harnesses, a nose harness and half chech collar, which only made his pulling worse. I note, some feedback mentions the buckle is too close to the elbow but mine seems to be a better fit. I haven't given it five stars yet as I want to see how it wears and check it doesn't rub. I'm glad I bought the deluxe model as it is lined with soft felt. I like it so much I've ordered a second for my older collie who can pull occasionally too but Amazon UK only had the deluxe model in the blue so I had to order the same colour.More choice of colours would have been good as I could quickly recognise which harness is adjusted for which dog.

So although my partner and the dog walker (both men) struggled to put this on our dog the first few times, I showed them how to (after reading the instructions!) and it works a treat. It definitely stops my rescue staff x lab (who had no outside etiquette) from pulling the lead.As a dog trainer once said to me, these kind of harnesses stop dogs doing what they're not supposed to do, but don't teach them how to do what they're supposed to do. That includes lots of training, but in the meantime, this clever contraption aids our walktimes, especially when there is a squirrel or cat around! It is awkward to put on the harness section which goes under the front legs / chest area if my dog is sitting down, but clips in nicely when she's standing up.I would definitely recommend this.

I have reviewed many products on the Amazon site designed to stop the bane of my dog-owning existence - how to stop my Border Collie from pulling on the lead. I've tried Canny Collars, Halti collars - products which seek to restrain the dog's pulling instincts by using a loop which goes around the dog's snout. Now, these items do work, after a fashion, but my dog will always seek to paw the loop off his muzzle, because it is an alien and unpleasant sensation for him. He settles in after about fifteen minutes, but he's never relaxed with it, and although he stops pulling after a while, the first part of a walk is a struggle for me, trying to restrain a strong and very wilful dog. Enough of the preamble.A few weeks ago, Amazon recommended the following product

Brilliant piece of equipment. I have a very young English bull terrier who drags me along. I have tried another type of harness the one that tightens across the chest as you pull back. It helped a little but at times seems to make him pull even more. This harness pulls the dog completely off balance. In fact if he dived forward it occasionally tipped him onto his back. After a very short time he stopped pulling. On the lead he now walks at heel. He even exercises freely better with the harness on but no lead. Put him back on the collar lead and its back to being towed about. My biggest mistake was I bought Large rather than Medium.I have had to use my sewing skills to make the harness smaller. Before this I was literally at the end of my tether..

I love these harnesses - this is my third - but they are not a magic bullet for pulling, as advertised. They work for a while, outfit stopping pulling, but once the dog gets used to the sensation of being pulled to the side, they can just pull at an angle. My collie figured it out rapidly.BUT I still buy them because I think this harness is a good teaching tool. When she's pulling, she certainly knows about it. Used along side loose leash walking training, it is great. This one with the extra padding is good for deeper chested breed that have narrower shoulders, and so rub under the arm. In addition,I made a tubular pad to go on the underside because my girl is very active and prone to rubbing.

This harness works really well. I've tried several others but they all have their drawbacks. The ones that go over the dog's nose work well enough but aren't that comfortable for the dog. Those that put pressure on the dog's chest when they pull (with a lead connector near the dog's shoulders) reduce pulling but not enough for you to walk comfortably. This one is comfortable to wear and reduces significantly the dos's inclination to pull. People have reported chafing but if you keep the harness loose so there is plenty of slack you will have no problems. Even when loose the dog cannot escape the harness so just don't do it up tight.
