The Pentax DCF HR II binoculars are a nice bright, very accurate color and very sharp on center axis. Making them an excellent birder set of glasses. I noticed that the outter 15% of the field of view (FOV)was slightly distorted, but most won't notice that as you tend to use the center 80% of the FOV for most viewing.I have used this set of glasses for birding, sporting events, and astronomy all with very good results. The eye pieces of these fine binoculars are excellent for eye glass wearers like me as you can see the whole FOV very nicely.The only real Con I have against these fine glasses are they are a little heavy for a 42mm size but not unmanageable.Over all a very good and enjoyable

These are really good binoculars. I wasn't sure about spending so much, but it really is worth it. The roof prism system makes the binoculars small for an impressive 8x42 size, and 8x is just right (Any more and shake becomes a real problem)Very bright image and with an exit pupil size of over 5mm means they are very easy to use and suitable for low light conditions.These binoculars are particulary good for prescription glasses wearers as no rubber surround needs folding back like on other models.Tough rubber finish, and being waterproof means they are also dust/sand proof.Hopefully they'll last for years.

These are excellent binoculars and really good value for money. The roof prism system makes the binoculars small and lightweight and 8x is just right for bird watching and general use.They have an extremely bright image and are very easy to use and suitable for low light conditions.These binoculars have a tough rubber finish and are waterproof, dust and sand proof and are particulary good for prescription glasses wearers as no rubber surround needs folding back.
