Got a great deal on these from Amazon. Look at the other reviews, they are top notch by all technical and ergonomic criteria, matching or surpassing some binoculars costing double. I have a Leica 7x42 Trinovid, a zeiss 10x40 BT Dialyt, a zeiss 8x30 BT Dialyt. This little binocular gives a better view than the 8x30 zeiss and focuses much closer, however its a little bigger and heavier. The view out of the Leica and Zeiss 10x is not noticeably better. My wife has a pair of Nikon Superior E 8x32 and the view out of these Pentax 8x32 is as good, just not quite the depth of field and the Pentax can be used in bad weather. Previously I have also owned 8x32 binoculars equivalent to these made by Kahles,

My UPS guy just delivered my Pentax 8x32 ED binoculars that I ordered here on Amazon for their close focus of a little over 4ft , 60° AFOV and great Pentax ED optics. I just compared them to my 8x42 Pentax DCF WP roofs and 7x42 Zeiss FLs under dim grey clouds with light rain and they are just as bright as my 8x42 DCF WPs but not as bright as my Zeiss 7x42 FLs . I knew they would not be as bright as the 7x42s since they are one of the brightest ultra premium out there but I am happy that they are just as bright as my 8x42 DCF WPs. The color and sharpness look just as good as the Zeiss handheld just eyeballing the view of birds, flowers etc. They are a nice small binocular that won't take up much room in a backpack etc.

All I really need to say is that recently hawk watching with these my friend who is a better birder than I am asked to look through these and he was leaning towards leica or zeiss for his next pair of nocs. His words: "I think you just did my research for me." He was floored as am I. The low light clarity is fantastic. The built in lens caps will never get lost and are a fantastic touch.I also have the similar 8x42s by Pentax and they've been my goto for 15 years. After a tumble down the road at 60MPH(long day on the mountain hawk watching), they were essentially just scuffed, so let's just say these are durable!One last thing these barely weigh more than the 8X42s. Amazing!

I put these side by side with a pair of swarovski slc's. During daylight hours the view in my eyes is the same. As darkness approached I have to give a slight edge to the slc. The difference is small enough that I could not justify spending another 900 for a pair of the slc's. These are great glasses for the money, better than top of the line minox except for HG APO's, nikon-except for the new edge's-I haven't looked through those, bushnell elite's, and vortex viper and razor. I've compared them all at one time or another. You won't be disappointed.

Product arrived safely from Germany within a week. Packaging fine but seal was broken on the Pentax Box. Have looked at other much more expensive similar sized binoculars from Swaroski and Nikon etc but feel the Pentax 8x32 DCF ED are better and more comfortable to handle. Image bright, sharp and colourful. Overall very pleased with product and service.

I've got a pair of these and think they are great. Looking through them seems brighter than without them. The image is really bright and sharp and I can even see colours and detail at night. They came with a nice strap and a case. The 30 year warranty was a pleasant surprise but they seem so well built I doubt I'll need it.Strongly recommend.

Not quite Leica or Zeiss but very few could tell the difference optically or mechanically. I have owned and used all three brands, same with spotting scopes. Hands down I would buy Pentax every time. Very near equivalent optical quality at half the price, and this comes from a 30 year Leica lover. Best Buy on the market, in my opinion.

Same quality as Zeiss, Swarovski or Leica at half the price. Image quality very high. The most I'll spend on a set of binocs in my lifetime but so far I'm not regretting the purchase and they'll probably be the last I'll need to buy. Highly recommended by Consumer Reports also.

Very good clear binoculars - the short minimum focus distance was important to me. This was my second pair of Pentax roof-prism binoculars
