I wanted a (rain) jacket that was small, slightly rainproof and breathable. Unfortunately, in my experience, there is no such jacket! Either it is really rainproof, then you sweat a lot already in early summer temperatures, or you have breathability, but then the jacket lets the rain through at some point. At least that applies to all the textiles that are also reasonably affordable for normal earners. Nevertheless, in my opinion, this Pearl Izumi Barrier Quest jacket is a good compromise. Quite comfortable to wear without sweating and actually water-repellent enough in light rain to stay dry a few kilometers away. I think the zipper is great, because it can also be opened from below,
