As I've been someone who has used a Pro Controller almost exclusively since Day 1, I'm intimately aware of everything to do with its overall feel so it makes me very picky when I pick up anything else. The Afterglow Wireless Deluxe Controller is really the first third party wireless controller I've ever picked up that in any way feels comparable. Its weight, dimensions, and general essence make moving between the two about as seamless as you could hope, though there are minor differences. First, the finish on the controller's surface is more clearly plastic and in tactile terms feels polished versus the more matte feel of the Pro. Second, the ridge on the dual joysticks is raised a bit more,which takes a little getting used to but one could argue may be helpful in keeping it from slipping during intense play. Last, the layout of the home, screen capture, +, and - buttons is a bit different and higher... though that doesn't really have any negative impact.The only feature this controller lacks is rumble, but considering it's a bit cheaper that feels like a more than fair concession. In exchange you also get the LED lighting which not everyone may think it a plus but personally my wife actually loves. The fact that I could tweak it to glow purple makes her happy and if you had more than one in the house it would make it easy to know whose is whose. Gyro controls not only work, but moving between the two controllers in games that make use of them I couldn't really detect any difference in performance between them. The added triggers on the back of the controller aren't something I found helpful (I found them too easily to trip accidentally) but since you can remove the plate for them very easily it's a nice option to have.If the lack of a rumble feature isn't a dealbreaker I'd absolutely recommend this controller to anyone. If this would be your first pro-style controller I'd be even more enthusiastic in that since its price is lower and most of my observations wouldn't even apply since you wouldn't know any better. It feels surprisingly good to hold and play with, the LED lighting is fun and distinctive, and this is absolutely a terrific product without question.

So, I got a Nintendo switch last year and it’s been adored by all of the family members. However, the controllers it comes with, quite frankly, stink. They’re hard for those of us who are older to hold onto. Enter this amazing product! Most controllers you find are wired, and that’s so annoying because then you’re strapped to a certain area to game. This wireless controller, however, allows you to roam freely! It’s made game nights so much easier, since we can all have a turn and can sit where ever.My son adores it even in handheld mode. He actually prefers it over the nunchucks that come with the system! He has poor motor control, so this is less intense for him to use.Add in the rainbow of colors it shines and it’s the best thing ever!On a practical note, I love that it auto shuts off when you close the system down. It saves battery that way and you don’t have to worry about charging as much. However, charging is a breeze! I’ve only had to charge it once since receiving it and had zero issues. This controller is very solid and good built. All buttons are smooth and responsive. I can't compare it to the Pro controller but quality looks very good, maybe plastic is little bit slippery. I've played a lot Mario Kart and Fortnite and haven't noticed any problems.Main feature of the controller is RGB LED backlights and they are really cool, especially when you play at night. It is possible to set different colors(red, green, blue and some in between), and different modes (turn off, different brightness, colors cycling and fading). My son was very excited to play with different settings.Additional plus is that controller is fully wireless and you get a freedom to play how you like.Only downside that battery life is only 20 hours. With my style of play (1-2 hours per day) battery is enough for approximately a week. Backlight adds an interesting effect to the charging process: it changing color from red(need to charge) to green (fully charged). We bought the switch for the house as a Christmas present last year and we have been using the joy-con controller it came with.. We didn't realize what we have been missing out on until we got this controller! First, this thing is wireless which is amazing in itself! Most switch controllers are wired and that's not necessarily a bad thing if you don't mind the wires.. But, having two dogs and a 5 year old in this house, that makes for a bad combination. We've only had to charge it once, so it appears that battery life is decent.Second, the color change to whatever you want is pretty amazing even if you're an adult.If you have more than one it makes it easy to tell which controller belongs to who.Another awesome feature is the auto shut off; when the system gets shut off, the remote turns off.. I’ll start by saying that this pairs easily with the Nintendo Switch, and the color function is bright and fun and a big hit with my 5 year old. If bought for a kid it’s great, but as an adult I have some complaints. First, it doesn’t have a rumble function which makes it unusable for a few games that rely on that function. Second, the buttons click pretty loudly and the extra personal programmable buttons on the back seem like a great idea but are so easy to hit with your fingers just from holding the controller normally. Finally, you must have the charge cable it shipped with to charge it. Our other charging cables won’t fit in the charging port. Not a major issue but it just makes it less easy to deal with.Again, it lights up and that’s a big hit in our house, but functionally there are some drawbacks. nice lighting, good controls, fits really nice into my hand. I've had it for about a week so i can't say for certain whether it's going to get joycon drift eventually or not, but for right now the controls are really responsive. I was worried about battery life since it doesn't display that on the console itself, but the lights on the controller turn off when the battery is low, so that's a good indicator of battery life. Overall really good, i'm actually thinking about getting another one so me and my brother can play mario kart together without either of us having the handicap of joycon drift. The only thing that i don't really like is the texture.Since it's such smooth plastic it starts to slip around whenever i'm playing more stressful games and that kinda limits my play time, but that really doesn't effect how the controller plays at all.

I have tested the pdp afterglow wireless controller very well, while playing the new Pokémon sword game. I used this all throughout finishing the game, and I must say it’s an amazing controller. Battery life is great and I didn’t experience any type of input lag or latency from the controller to the switch. It feels very good in the hand similar to an Xbox one controller. All the buttons are very clicky and responsive and feel good. The color lighting in the controller is an additional bonus that make it look even better especially while playing in the dark :) you can choose from different colors and modes and they look fantastic. I would definitely recommend anybody looking for a switch wireless controller to pick this one up from PDP.You won’t be disappointed. Worth every penny! I much prefer this controller to the standard switch controllers. It feels good to hold, and my wrist/hands don’t get tired using it. The light up part is a pleasant bonus that I enjoy. I’m a fan of LED lighting and the fact that I can change the color is super fun. The only thing that I would change is the back plate- I’m not sure what feature it provides and the movement is distracting. Thankfully it is removable and is still aesthetically pleasing and you don’t lose any functionality when it is taken off. I wanted a Switch remote since I find the joycons to small and I can't play for very long with my hands cramped up. This remote is perfect for most games. I especially like the customizable colors you can make it. I didn't notice any difference in sensitivity or connection time compared to the joycons.I think it's one of the best controllers on the market for the Switch and it's even officially licensed.Not all games allow pro-controllers, so make sure the game you want to use it for supports it. So, the led function is cool, and i mostly play in handheld mode so didn't feel the need to send £50 for an official nintendo pro controller. I personally think it okay for the price. It does the job, the wire is quite long but if your dock is far away form where you sit then deff get wireless. It DOES not include motion controls (whatever that is), does not support amino and does NOT include HD rumble so buy at your own risk. if you just want the pretty lights this is good. if you want something with all the functions, plus wireless save yourself the disappointment and get a nintendo pro controller.

After using the stock Switch controllers for the first year, I decided to upgrade to this model. This controller has flawless compatability with the Nintendo Switch system, including a painless pairing process. The first thing I noticed is how smooth the joysticks are in comparison to the stock controllers. The layout is ergonomical with a comfortable grip and button layout. The kids love the lights! I got this controller for my husband but my kids quickly claimed it! They loved the light feature and each have a favorite color they like to use while playing. We all love that it’s wireless, it makes playing together so much easier. We have had no issues with connecting and find it very responsive! I also really appreciate the self charging feature and love that I don’t have to constantly replace batteries like I do in my other system’s controllers. I would definitely recommend this controller! One thing I really liked about this controller is it felt like I was about to have more control while I was playing video games and since I am already familiarized with a similar control since I also own an Xbox it was easy to adapt to it. I don’t also have to be super close to the tv since I get the signal from all the way to my bed. It also take a long time before it shows up low battery and it starts going red when it is needed to charge but charges super fast. Overall good product. My son says this remote is outstanding! First off, it was easy to configure to the nintendo switch. The lights are easy to turn on. You can either choose one solid continuous color to glow or all multiple colors flashing one after the other. my son chose the múltiple colors. The battery lasts a very long time and it comes with a usb charger to charge it if needed. This is a great addition to our home! All of the kids wanted to take turns using it. My son thinks this controller is soo cool. He really likes the color when it lights up. Depending on the game he plays it is a super cool feature to have. There is no vibration which would of been nice for a lot of the games my son plays. The cordless is perfect to have him sit comfortably in the couch where I'm sitting, far enough from the tv.
