I bought this pen as I would soon need writing apparatus to take me through my exams. I have never even spent a 5th of the price of this on a pen before, so this review is a good insight if you are just a regular old bic user like myself, well until now.USAGE:you see I am left handed and so ink smudges when i write, however using this beautiful well weighted pen, the ink seems to dry the moment it touches the paper and so it does not smudge at all. the next thing to note about this pen is that it glides rather than the usual pressure one must apply, it is as if the pen writes for you. Now this may seem like rubbish, as it did to me pre-purchase, however upon using it i discovered this almost instantly.to prove this wasn't a placebo, i used the parker pen for a 2 hour exam, then 5 days later i used a bic pen for a 2 hour exam, and by the first hour of writing with the bic pen, my hand grew that strain of excessive writing, which was not present with the parker. The next thing i would like to mention about the urban parker pen is how splendid its heavy weight is, it is balanced just perfectly so that my messy handwriting actually looks readable with this pure brilliant pen. each cartridge lasts for ages, like seriously ages, so although they cost more i feel it saves money in the long run, i don't know exactly but each one lasts around 50 solid A4 pages for me, but maybe i am a light presser. finally the twist to make the nib appear is unmatched in smoothness, i get enjoyment just out of twisting it back and forth.LOOKS:its actually more shiny in person, and its size with noticeable curves means that when you get the pen out in an exam hall, people must think your a t**t but no seriously it looks really great and the top of the pen is of a shiny mirror like metal that reflects so nicely with sunlight that the pen appears to sparkle. If you are left handed this pen is honestly a life changer, if you have extensive writing coming up in your life, the pen will see you through it better than no other, and if you want to look important, only a parker pen could do that.

After some 20 years of clinging onto the confort and ease of a development career I apprehensicelt moved into management. The first thing I did was treat myself to a nice pen. This is the first bit of stationary I have purchased since I left University, since then I've been dipping into the office stationary supplies for my every need.I don't know why, but I always seem to misplace free pens from the office and am forever going to the stationary department for refils.I've had this pen for 5 months now and have never left it lying around, anywhere. It comes with Blue ink and has a simple tristing mechanism to expose the nib for use.**Really comfirtable to use.**Not too thin/skinny**Nice weight.I was a bit apprehensive about the metal pen, thinking it would be a little too heavy, however I've used it for hours on end withouth issues.**Looks great (I've had several compliments from other managers).**Stylish and discreet. I like the fact that the design is simple, yet noticeable. The body on the whole is made of a matt/brushed silver and the clip with the parker arrow along with the small barrel at the nibis more of a shiny silver, (see pic 3)**Writes wonderfully.**Fast drying ink.**Decent sized nib.**Refills readily available. (If you know anybody travelling regulartly to and from India you can get these refills from the official LUXOR store for about 60 pence!)**Does not discriminate between right and left handed users. My boss used it for 20 minutes and really like it. Being a left hander he always needs quick drying pens to avoid smudging and even went as far as asking me to buy hime one!I honestly cannot think of anything bad to say, I got this on a lightning deal but would gladly pay the full price for this item as it really is worth every penny

Parker "Urban" Chrome Trim Ballpoint PenParker are the go-to name for quality writing instruments in the form of propelling pencils, ball pens (of many styles) and of course fountain pens. The name goes back such a long way and Parker has always been known for reliability. [ I am still using the Parker "Flighter" stainless steel ball pen, which I bought for my Dad when I was working in the Stationery Dept at Harrods in the mid 1960's. Dad used it all those years, then Mum had it when he died in 1992 and then Mum used it until she died in 1993, which is when it came to me. Proven longevity I think!]• This "Urban" Ballpoint Pen is tastefully but simply boxed and come complete with a multilingualinstruction leaflet.• This Ballpoint Pen has a twist action to it.• There is a sturdy clip for any gentlemen who like to keep a pen in their suit jacket top pocket, or the inside pocket. A handy clip too for ladies who wish to 'anchor' it in their handbag for easy access.• The brushed satin with the polished chrome front tip, end and clip make a great contrast.• The unusual shape of this pen provides a thicker front body that many people find to be more comfortable for writing because it is easier to grip.• The "Urban" is fitted with a MEDIUM Nib ballpoint refill in Blue, but when you need to replace it, there is the usual Parker choice of nib sizes and ink colours.I can thoroughly recommend this pen – it makes the perfect gift or something nice for you to write with.UPDATE - 15 Feb 2017I gave this Parker to my husband as part of his Christmas present - actually it was from our 2 dogs to him. He does a lot of crosswords etc and uses this pen every day for prolonged periods of time. If he didn't like it, he wouldn't use it!

I've had my eye on this pen for a while, when I lost the Parker pen I was using, it gave me an excuse to purchase another one for myself and I'm glad I did!The pen comes well presented - as do most Parker pens - in a black box with a checked design, this has a gold coloured lid with the Parker logo on top. Inside the pen sits on a soft touch cloth material and is held down by two elastic cords, then covered with a golden ribbon. The pen feels great in the hand, not too light and not too heavy. Both the very top of the pen and the bottom where you grip it, have a slightly glossy, metal finish, it looks very nice. The upper body of the pen has a matte black finish with an unusual design which can be seen in the product picture. The materials used and the build quality are of a very high standard, giving the pen a premium look and feel.I do however, have one small issue with the pen. When you pick the pen up, tap or shake it, there is a rattle which comes from the refill inside. This is a minor annoyance and doesn't change my view on the pen. This would be great as a present for someone, or to yourself. I believe it is worth the price, and I am very happy with my purchase.

I became aware of this pen via the recommendations. It really caught my eye.I do a lot of writing, so I wanted something practical, but also stylish. I have great respect for the Parker company, having owned the Vector fountain model since 1984!- sill with the original nib! So I am aware of Parkers good quality, reliability and also keen pricing. The pen itself is a rather unusual shape, slightly larger at the business end than normal and quite weighty, which I find quite gratifying. A very noticeable pen which is sure to draw comment. It looks more expensive than it actually is. As for functionality, few moving parts, you unscrew the end, insert the refill and away you go.The pen has a twist-action (I find some of the "press- action" pens a bit "hit+miss")- so, less to go wrong. All in all an exellent purchase, which I look forward to using for years to come.

It's a very pretty pen and looks very stylish and elegant. The grip is quite wide, tapering away to a narrower body and if you are used to a slim-barrelled pen it may initially feel a little awkward. In one sense the tapering barrel makes it comfortable to hold, but I find I need to hold the pen more upright so the benefit of that is lost. The ball point opens and retracts by turning the barrel. I have noticed that another reviewer has mentioned that this operation was accompanied by a grinding sound: this isn't my experience and the movement is quick and silent. The pen writes very smoothly and has a decent weight in the hand without feeling too heavy. If you are thinking of giving this as a gift it comes in a nice gift box.

Really really beautiful pen, good weight and well balanced.I choose the all black version, mate and lacquered, wich is astonishing in my opinion, in fact is the first review that I am writting on amazon, the only down side unfortunately is that the lacquered part wich is really sensible and after one day of use at university, taking a really good and closer look I noticed that some micro marks apeared on the lacquer ...don't get me wrong, is not noticeble just if you know that are there or you are looking after them.(the mate black part it's fine)The pen is so great that I just bought another one, but this time in black and chrome trim not lacquered anymore! ☺

I'm one of those possibly sad people that enjoy writing with a good pen... this is one of those that is high in the ranks of being a joy to use. The weight and feel of the pen are just superb! It fits so snugly into your hand and is just a dream to use.Down side of this is why sell a black pen as this is, with a blue ink cartridge installed? easily fixed by purchasing black refills at the same time... sorted! If you know someone or like me you just enjoy the feel of a quality writing implement, then look no further because you've just found it in the Parker Urban Premium Matt (blue) Ball point pen - gift boxed.

I've been banging on about how sexy this pen was (black, matte Urban) for far too long. My wife laughed at my "year long fascination with a pen" and it had been in my wish-list for ages as nobody was taking the hint. I eventually decided.to buy it myself.Once my wife saw it she was smitten. This is the George Clooney (2002 -2010) of pens. It was like we had rolled back the clock to a time where our child was a distant memory and television was just background noise. To cut a long story short Black and Decker should branch into pens as over the past three weeks I've nailed frequently and with ease.

I ordered the parker urban pen through Amazon (Internet inks) and it came the next day. Fast delivery. The pen came fully packed and in good condition.About the pen, it writes smoothly and has the right balance. The colour and the shape of the pen makes it look a lot more expensive than the stated price.Due to its shape it is very comfortable to write. As someone who has used a few expensive pens with minimum satisfaction as they were either much heavier or lighter, I think this is a very nice piece of writing material with the right amount of grip. For the price, this is definitely a good buy.

Even for someone who like me who tries to replace a pen with a keyboard at every opportunity, this pen is a pleasure to write with.Quality, sleek finish and the {ahem!} girth of the pen is perfect for avoiding finger ache or cramp. This pen feels like the polar opposite to a Parker jotter pen which I find very uncomfortable to write with as my fingers start to ache as it feels like I'm continuously trying to squash a grain of sand between my thumb, middle and index fingers.I also think the price is very reasonable for such a quality item at £11 odd.

A relatively inexpensive Parker pen that looks smart. I like the all-chrome finish and the fact that the design looks a little different from most Parker Pens. The 'bullet' shape is both unusual and functional resulting in a well-balanced pen with sufficient grip to make it a pleasure to use. The pen comes in a cardboard, but smart, presentation case and with a blue ink cartridge. It's a pity there is no choice of alternate colours as I prefer black to blue. Nonetheless for the price an excellent product. Five stars.

I purchased this pen as i wanted something a little different for my parents pearl wedding anniversary. I bought them one each. It is a lovely shaped pen, easy to hold, has a subtle pearl touch to it & comes in a nice Parker box. The parents loved their pens & now have them on display in their display cabinet so i can't tell you how well they actually write. So if you are searching hard for a decent Pearl gift, this is defo the one to go for...great for men & women...most people write after all!

I bought myself the stainless steel version of this pen but my wife, who normally does not like metal pens, loved it and I struggled to get it off her. So I bought her this pink one which she absolutely adores (and gained me loads of brownie points). It is a lovely pen, quite heavy, but writes like a good Parker pen should (I have been a fan of Parker pens for about 40 years now - ever since I was given one for passing my 11+ exam). A good value Parker pen, well packaged and delivered quickly.

Haven't used a Parker pen since my school days and now regret it. They always were excellent pens and it seems they still are. Having bought this ballpoint pen I'm now also thinking about buying a fountain pen. The item was delivered within 24 hours on the free super saver delivery- happy days. I chose the pen in all black and am delighted with it. Writes very well, feels nice in the hand and looks great. 10/10 for me. Also much cheaper on here than in other stores.
