We purchased this microwave as a companion to our Panasonic NN-CF778S, and in many ways wish we had spent the extra and got a second NN-CF778S. As a microwave it is excellent with a few reservations: The dark colour may look smart, but in daylight or with the kitchen light on it is all but impossible to see what you are cooking. Much the same goes with seeing the controls, they just don't 'stand out' against the dark background. The 'Sensor' works reasonably well with frozen veg, but has wrecked most fresh veg I have tried. I have not trusted other settings, but would only use as a first stage in cooking. You cannot combine 'oven' with 'microwave' which can be a great disadvantage.I cannot see much use for combining 'grill' with 'microwave' (unless you want to cook a steak from frozen . . . ?) There is an instruction label behind the top of the door above the inside of the oven. When using the grill (or oven) this gets burnt. With the NN-CF778S it was easy to remove/clean the burnt label as the oven is a stainless steel construction - NOT SO the NN-DF386BPQ which still has scratched paintwork and most of a burnt label. Nevertheless we are very happy with this microwave, and it tends to get more use than the NN-CF778S.

I have taken some time to review this item until I had used all the functions. My old microwave bit the dust so you would expect just to look at a replacement! No, as well as tech moving on I have difficulties stooping and moving pots into a conventional oven, I also find the normal spring releases on most microwaves doors send the unit sliding along the worktop. Did a lot of research and looked at it in a real shop. This unit whilst is expensive is great and a powerful combo unit well partially. Drop down door, cooks really well and does not have any turntable to stare at whilst cooking.Controls are relatively easy to read and use but its not a full combo. Takes up a larger footprint than most but isn't to big to distract. The oven is very good and stops cooking when it is told to at the end of the cycle and even tells you when to open the door. be careful mind it does get hot on the outside. Overall the high cost maybe a bar to those that just need microwave but if you are aged or have arthritis its well worth the cost of a replacement oven and grill.

I Have older but larger Panasonic microwave which had fan oven for over 10 years still works. But was becoming to large for the work top. This microwave is much smaller and having no turntable means still can get a larger plate in and it can be odd shape. When purchased some reviews were negative but i have not had any real problems that i have not over come with cooking adjustment. ie nothing has fallen apart or come off and its used multiple times daily. My old microwave had a great function of auto jacket potato sensing, which great just put them in and hit go, it got it right every time. This new one don't and is split into 2 functions , first microwave jacket then combination micro and grill.Took bit of getting used to, i do less on the first microwave burst than the book Say's and little more on combination micro and grill and for me they come out great. .I use this for warming plates by just using oven at 100. All in all the most used item in the kitchen

We had a perfectly good microwave with grill, the problem was it was very noisy and would continue running for a good few minutes after using the microwave, it is supposed to do this to remove any moisture? It would do this even if it was only used for a few seconds? We never used the grill!?We purchased the Panasonic 3 in 1 as a replacement. It is a superb looking item and performs as you would expect, it is much quieter, much quicker and although it does continue running sometimes the noise is hardly noticeable and lasts just a few seconds. It has a drop down door a large cooking area and because it is an inverter microwave everything gets done faster. The instructions are really simple and it reminds you of what you are about to do with a digital banner display where the time usually is?I think it is probably the best microwave I have ever owned?Read full review...

I am more or less happy with my microwave apart from the following: 1. It was only 10 days old when the oven light failed. I know that can happen but it was disappointing. 2. The oven takes a long time to heat to desired temperature. Longer than previous combination microwaves. 3. I often cook a frozen baked potato. If I put it in the oven for the desired time, part of the potato is not fully cooked. If I move the potato around during coking, all is well. 4. I have had two previous combination microwaves and both had the same problem as the Panasonic, which is the grill is not hot enough. But I have to say that the pros outweigh the cons. I like the appliance very much although it could be improved.I am a fan of Panasonic products, two TV's, two recorders and an electric razor. Your product would always be my first choice if available.

I chose this oven for its looks, compactness, drop down horizontal door and flatbed. By accident I ordered the steam version which had bad condensation after microwaving peas for 2 minutes so I changed to this model with some scepticism. However I am so pleased . After microwaving peas the fan expels all the condensation. The flatbed is fantastic as it works with all shapes of dishes and is very roomy and more vesatile compared to a turntable. It looks great and is smaller than my previous combination but has more space as there is not a turntable. For grilling or cooking you have shelf levels which makes cooking so much more effective. Very pleased with my purchase. The light is much brighter than the steam model.

This 1000w combination microwave is like a precision tool making other more basic ovens look like a blunt tool. Its power delivery is refined and requires a little more finesse than other models. Time and power control really makes a difference between well cooked food or over cooked food. I would say that the people leaving negative reviews here have not read or understood the instruction manual fully. And let's face it if your unhappy with something, your more likely to leave a review, than if you were happy with your purchase. IGNORE THE NEGATIVE REVIEWS This is a precision tool In the right hands capable of cooking just about anything perfectly. From crisp skinned baked potatoes to joints of meat.

I bought this to save space in my kitchen as I had a halogen oven and a microwave so a combination of the both was the perfect solution.Overall I'm very pleased with it, it's very quiet, looks nice on my kitchen worktop and so far results have been good....but only if I preheat first. Its maiden run was to cook frozen party food for Christmas and the first 2 or 3 things I tried did not cook properly and some were still cold.I didn't think I'd need to preheat a modern oven but it seems so - but food has been turning out lovely ever since I have. The plus side is the preheat is an automatic function so you set it off to preheat and can just leave it till you hear the beep.

I was hoping my wife would take some time to get to know our new microwave but she has not and to be fair it does not function as easily as it might do. It is the settings that confuse. I think the preheating setting prior to actually cooking food. Time and temperature don't seem to be recorded easily. It has taken me some time to get to grips with this and we need to keep the manual close to hand. It is a shame as I am a Panasonic fan and know they make good products. Sadly my wife won't give it a second chance and resorts to her big expensive to run cooker rather than get to grips with it.

Generally a very good compact product however I have small two issues. The knob that is used to set the time is worrying me because sometimes it is stiff to rotate and other times it is fine, I hope this does not become a major fault in time. The second is that cleaning the grill is difficult because you don't seem to be able to remove the stainless steel bars which makes anything other than a wipe over impossible. Ignoring the two issues, I have found the product to be just what I wanted when I ordered it. Small enough to fit on the kitchen worktop and big enough to cook a meal for two.

I bought this to replace my last Panasonic Combi/ Microwave which was still working after being used nearly everyday for 20 years. Things have moved on since I bought my last Panasonic and as well as being stylish the controls and timer are even simpler to operate. Especially handy is the drop down door and the ability to have two shelves cooking on convection at the same time. I love the fact it has no turntable which allows a pretty large casserole dish to fit inside. Without the turntable the inside is even easier to keep clean. Very pleased with my purchase and would recommend.

We purchased this for the microwave and grill and for the drop down door. The door does not come down as flat as I would have liked but it is still easier than side opening. Not having a turntable is a new experience but the controls are responsive and easy to use (they even display instructions which can be turned off once you're used to it) the oven does get very hot on the outside. But it is a cooker. The microwave and grill certainly cook better than our last one. It is also quoted, perhaps because there's no turntable. Overall I'm quite pleased.

A very attractive piece of kitchen necessity. Fast microwave cooking but conventional oven heating took longer than my other that cost 1/3 of the cost . I also think the keypad should have a back light as the button symbols are much the same colour shade as the background and not very distinct. The end of cooking sounder isn't very loud if your in another room . I love the auto cook settings and it's easy clean feature. Just to conclude, it's still a great item of kitchen ware and I'm very pleased I got it .

Supplied by Hyperworld. Rapid delivery (though delivery cost is a bit dear!).Early days but seems to be pretty good.Smart looking, in a restrained sort of way. Compact and smaller in depth than most combi ovens but still a bit deep. Slowly getting my head around the various programming options available (maybe I'm getting a bit old for these things!). One slight downer is that the combination of conventional oven and microwave is not available (which was on my old Samsung). All told, I'm happy so far!

Best product ever, easy to understand instructions. I have used all functions except the combi so far but expect that to be as good as the rest. I have barely used my actual cooker since acquiring this amazing machine. I bought a liner for the tray and cooking bacon has never been so good! Basically I love it! The only thing I have had to get used to is adjusting microwave times due to being a higher power rating. You can alter the cook time whilst still counting down, I love this feature also.
