The best I could find, with lots of good features, starting with a handset design that mimics a Nokia mobile phone but with a row of 3 extra keys along the bottom. But then you find that the software contains some obvious flaws; it's as if the hardware designer team used an old Nokia mobile as a pattern, but then handed the prototype to a software engineer who had only ever used a smart phone!Specific Criticismsa. Operating InstructionsThe Index is abysmal – most functions are not listed.b. Phone- book functionAnyone accustomed to the search facilities of the simplest mobile phone will be dismayed by the phone book search: pressing any number key will open the phone-book at the first entry for the first letter corresponding to that key.So if looking for 'Sky', pressing 7 [PQRS] will open the phone-book at the first entry for P, one has then to scroll down through the Ps Qs Rs just to get to the Ss. With less than 50 entries, finding a number is tedious; if most of the capacity of 200 numbers were in use, it would be extremely tedious. Even the simplest and cheapest mobile phone offers far better search facilities. The Phone Book function provides a 'Search' soft key, which opens a two option menu: Character Set and Category. The latter limits the simplistic search facility to a single phone-book category. The former enables the system's character set to be changed between Latin, Greek and Cyrillic; why this initial set-up option is in the phone-book, I cannot imagine. There's no facility to import, backup or export the phone book. If Panasonic had used a micro-SD card for storage of phone-book, call log, blocked numbers, voice messages etc., the capacity of the this system would have been vastly extended and a very simple piece of software would enable this data to be created, saved and edited on any PC.c. Caller IDThe system identifies incoming calls by reference to the phone book, but only matches all 11 digits. So if you work for a large organisation, you can't put the first part of the number into the phone-book so that all calls from work are identified regardless of extension.d. Nuisance callsThe call blocking facilities are the principal reason for buying this phone, but if the handset is taken off the charger unit, the handset rings when a blocked number calls – so if you take the handset to bed, a late-night nuisance call will wake you.e. Ring tonesRing tones (for the hand sets only) are the usual unimaginative a set, but there's no facility to down-load or import. The base unit has a fixed ring tone, so changing the handset ringtone and/or using of specific ring tones for different categories of numbers creates a discordant cacophony. The only answer is to mute the base unit! The base ringer work like the handsets.f. Eco modesUtterly pointless as they actually increase the amount of power used by running down the handset batteries much faster.I've subsequently discovered that Panasonic are one of those invasive companies that that deliberately mislead by calling their message board "e-mail". To ask a simple question, a (potential) customer has to provide a lot of personal information and agree to this being used for marketing. NO STARS FOR CUSTOMER SERVICE.

I bought a qaud set of these in white to replace a ten year old earlier set of Panasonic phones. I'm sure black is more serviceable in not showing dirt, but we went for white to match decor and to look less 'office like'. This phone dates back to 2014, so be aware there is a newer quite similar model available in black, (KX-TGJ324EB) but they don't seem to do a white, hence I went for this older one. Having read most of the reviews here before buying, and being confused by the range of opinions, I thought I'd give them a go and send them back if they were not suitable! So first impressions... the handsets are reasonably smart and seem robust enough, though less solid than earlier Panasonic phones.I'd happily have paid a little more for a better constructed phone. They don't have that little grippy bit on the back that older models usually had either. I found them easy enough to set up. If you don't want them bothering you at night in a bedroom, you can set the wallpaper off, and have the time display turned off too if you want. Each phone can have its own display setup. As others have said, the phone book is a little clunky to use, and is a bit slow in responding, likely because of communication with the base unit when storing numbers. However this does give a big plus over earlier models, inasmuch as numbers added are sent to all the phones in the set. (This however does not apply to quick-dial numbers, which are set individually per phone.) It is a shame they have not made group entries for each contact so that a landline and mobile number for each person could be stored as one entry. However the phone book is easy enough to use when you get the hang of it. Numbers can be categorised, and different ringtones assigned to those categories if wanted. The most important issue people have commented on is the sound, which some have said is simply dreadful. Well as far as I can tell the sound is perfectly fine and useable, and loud enough if handsets are set to maximum, or one off maximum volume. I have tested each handset and they all seem to be matched in sound quality. The handsfree speaker can feed back a little if you accidentally put your fingers over it, so this needs to be avoided. The charging units for handsets are quite lightweight and tend to slip around on surfaces. A little bit of that non slip rubber stuff attached underneath would help in this regard! The answerphone speaker is not great, though clear enough and no worse than the old one it has replaced. I have registered two of the old handsets to the base unit without problem, giving a total of six. One of these is located in a shed twenty yards or so from the house and is working fine there. So I am happy enough with this set and unless something goes wrong they are keepers. They lose a star because of overall construction and the missing grippy stuff on handsets, and the lightness of the charging bases, otherwise good enough value for the set.

This was a nice surprise (minus one thing):Some things that I found out after I got it:* You can change the background of the display to one of the presets. It's a nice personalization feature* It has polyphonic sounds. It has a decent list with both panic-style and calmer rings* It is multilingual w.r.t. phonebook entries, meaning you can write names with non-latin characters. The latin character set has the benefit of both uppercase and lowercase letters* You assign categories to phonebook entries and you can then assign different ringtones to categories. It supports 10 categories* It has enough room on the screen to display the caller name and the number, including a second line for the number in case it overflows* You configure the base-unit from the headset, which I haven't experienced before and it looked cool. E.g. you can turn off the ringing of the base-unit from the headset* It has a "secure" setting which I assume that somehow encrypts the communication to the base station in order to prevent others from listening to you. Note that it's off by default* It is pretty programmable and kind of incorporates square logic. I liked the navigation as most things seemed logical. It also has codes associated to each function which you can type from the menu to go directly to a certain setting. Pretty useful when reading the manual as it uses these codes to guide you* It has some little goodies that make life easier like being able to skip the first ring in order to give you time to pickup the phone if it's next to you without disturbing othersIn short, I like it.One thing to keep in mind though (and that's why I started writing this review) is that it doesn't have a 2.5mm slot for headphones (damn!). I was annoyed by that since it was one of the specs I was looking for and I somehow assumed it'd have. Having said that, I'm keeping the phone as I liked its functionality and will cope with the headphones in another way, maybe with another headset.

I do like this phone albeit with two problems, one of which is quite significant.Good points- plenty of options to fiddle around (although I'm sure most people won't be that bothered with most of them but that's true same with any phone you buy whether it be a house or mobile phone),and it's comfortable to hold on long conversations.Bad points- navigation through the menus is a bit on the slow side but not slow enough that you wouldn't be able to live with it. The main gripe that I have is the sound when talking to people, it's muffled and not very loud on full volume. I'm finding myself asking people to repeat things fairly regularly. It's not crisp like my other Panasonic phone which I've had for around 8 years+ and I didn't really want to replace it except it was starting to have random problems, one of which was charging, it wasn't always charged after being on the dock all night and that was with brand new batteries.I don't know whether it's specifically this phone that's muffled and I do have to say that I've bought Panasonic equipment (tv, 5.1 amp, mobile phones, house phones etc..) for decades and have always been hugely satisfied with everything 100% up until I bought this. Maybe it's just me being used to to my last phone and it may take some time to get used the difference. One thing I do have to point out is that I suffer from tinnitus and I can't be sure if it's that that's affecting the overall volume issue but it wouldn't affect the clarity.Edit:I have now found options that change the sound when talking. Access the menu while talking to someone and you'll find an equaliser allowing you change the clarity. Also the noise cancellation makes a difference too.Now I have to give it 5 stars.Seems I jumped the gun a bit :p

Had Panasonic phone previously and this one performs much the same. However this phone has a flimsy and plasticky feel compared to the previous one, I guess it's built to a price but not to my taste. The two satellite phones sit in a base which is quite small and feels like it will topple over at any moment (although it has not done so yet). Also the handsets sit up nearly vertical which means if you have them on a table or window sill you have to bend down to read the screen, poor design and could be a lot better. The handsets are nicely backlit and easy to navigate. The handbook supplied is comprehensive but tiny to read and especially some of the icons, however worth sticking with it to get full use of the many functions.I found the handset screen easy to see but the numerals and figures are too large and this is a real nuisance when inputting to the address book. My years old previous Panasonic phone was much clearer. Why on earth do that try and fix things which were not broken and 'improve' features which were perfect? So by all means buy this phone, it will do what you want it to. But just remember there's almost certainly a better one out there somewhere where attention to detail has be better executed.

Very impressed with the Panasonic KX-TGH223 trio. It's a nice phone to use, and very easy to set up. You have a good choice of ring tones (including christmas ones for the festive season),The trio pack comes with 3 phones, One base station and two remote charging stations to put around the house which also doubles as holders. You can switch off the two remote charging stations once the batterys have been charged.Your phone line goes into the base station.Set up is very easy, once you enter time, date and your phone book entries on one phone, this is automatically sent to the other two handsets too.We have a ip phone set up (rather than anologue line) and this works great, people used to complain about the call quality on my previous handset from another manufacturer, but the panasonic has great sound quality. It also has a handsfree speakerphone option so you can leave it down and talk whilst cooking dinner or on a family chat. The battery life is really good, at the moment i only need to charge the handset once a week or so.Would recommend.

The best thing about this phone is its display. It's very bright and colourful and almost looks like an OLED display, which I'm sure it's not. The handset feels quite nice and its user interface is well thought out and simple to use. The only thing I've found is that the ringer takes longer to start ringing when the eco mode is switched on. I also wish Panasonic would find some way of making handsets without huge seams or grooves in them that end up, over time, filling up with dust and grime; these grooves are hard to clean properly. The base is a bit lightweight without the phone in it, though it's not a big issue for me. The answering machine works fine. If you have caller ID you can block incoming numbers, though the block list is limited to 50 entries (this is a big improvement on the 20 entries Panasonic sometimes gives you).Overall, this is a very good digital cordless phone and answering machine, especially considering the low price tag.

Have been using these for about a month and have to say are very good.. The colour display is Excellent as you can see caller id very clearly.. For visually impaired this would be one of the best phones out there.Normal sound quality again can't fault and hands free is also fine.Size and weight.. Nicely compact and very comfortable to use.Battery standby.. Amazing! We were away for a week and there was still ample charge when we came back. So no need to charge every day.Reason for 4 stars.. Whilst the memory capacity is more than adequate.. Unlike my old BT phones.. Which had a sim card slot .. So all numbers are easy to transfer, on these Panasonic have to add each number manually. But just need to add to one handset and they appear on all the others.Having researchd many others.. This model was well reviewed by Which and Overall find Excellent value and would definitely recommend.

Pretty good phone with lots of features. I have swiftly learned not to use the Eco-mode, which eats up the battery very quickly. Some of the menus are many layers deep and you wish that some of the more frequently used options were at the top level instead of 3 clicks in... but I'm very happy with it overall. The Noise Reduction feature is useful and works well. Sound quality is excellent, and the range from the base station seems fine. The only two other Panasonic items I've ever owned both died the day after the 1 year guarantee ran out (a vacuum cleaner and an answerphone), so if this does the same I will be returning to update this review and reduce the number of stars. You're on your final chance with me,Panasonic!! Fingers crossed, cos a phone like this is not a cheap item.

Very pleased with this phone, I was looking for a phone with an answer machine and after much research went with this. I haven't used all the functions yet but so far it has been easy to use and set up. It has a really good charge off the base, I can leave it for a few days before returning to base to charge (much better than my last BT phone). The answer machine is very easy to use, and you can change how quickly it comes on. I found the phone book easy to use and set up. I liked the idea of having call blocking but haven't used it so far. I've not had any problems with sound quality, I would say it's no different to my last phone, and the answer machine is very clear.Overall very happy and would buy again.

Absolutely brilliant. Don't get any unwanted calls anymore. I very highly recommend this product. Very easy to use, just remove the packaging and plug into wall socket. Programme friends and family numbers into the main handset and they appear on all linked phones. Join Caller display via your phone provider. This allows you to decide if you want to answer otherwise let the phone interrogate the caller before it allows the call through. Absolutely brilliant. Even if you answer a call by mistake, just enter the number in the call bar list and you'll never hear from them again. If you block someone by mistake it's easy to unblock them. Very clever phones that I could not be without.

This was a Christmas present to ourselves as our old BT Verve units were just awful and we couldn't hear the callers. This is vastly better, It's not that easy to set up, for example entering numbers into the phonebook is very slow, and you have to subscribe to Caller Display. The keys are not that easy to operate as they are very dark and 'flat', so you need to be able to see what you are doing.I like the way that the handsets communicate, so that if you enter a number in the phone book it's available on all the sets. Blocking nuisance calls is not that easy unfortunately, but we will get it organised. It's not the cheapest model but it's hugely better than what we had.

Solid new set of home phones. The design of the phone and the lightness is great. My previous Panasonic phones had an annoying issue where one phone had different saved phone number contacts because all the headsets did not sync the information to each other, whereas these do. Other neat features is the nuisance call block feature, which seems to be working because there are fewer calls to our home (usually would get at least 2 a day) and even a baby monitor mode (won’t be using that, not till I have kids)Only thing I can’t seem to work out is how to mute my mic on the phone while on a call...my previous phones had a very visible button that could do that.

Bought these as recommended by Which? to replace an old BT landline. The set-up was done by my husband but didn't take him long at all. I sometimes struggle with the clarity on this telephone but it is only sometimes. What I find a bit fiddly is seeing how many minutes you have spent on the telephone as the light goes off whilst in use. I didn't realise that when the handset is placed on the charger the light stays on which we found distracting whilst watching television but it was soon sorted by going through the settings and taking the light off. It is a nice neat designed handset that does not take up much room and ergonomically designed.

Received on time, well packaged, lightweight but quality feel to all components. I bought this to replace a similar 10 year old Panasonic m/c. It is setup and working fine but 2 things stop me from rating it a "5" - Both my wife and I are finding the sound quality on calls just a little "dull" - note, it is NOT a big problem but, compared to the model we've replaced, it's not QUITE so good. Also the sheer amount of "fiddly" keying to set up a Phonebook of almost 90 contacts seems excessive - it would have been great to have some sort of export/import facility between the old and the new!
