I bought this unit to replace my old Panasonic equivalent, which was still going strong, but after 5 years of faithful service the buttons are very difficult to use, due to wear and tear.First impressions are that the build quality is ever-so-slightly inferior to the old model. The old one stood up on it's own, the new one is "modelled like a pebble, with curved round edges", I guess in an effort to make electronic devices less dated and angular, which I guess is no bad thing. It's just annoying that it won't stand up, lying down on it's back the speaker outlet is covered and therefore the ringer is muffled significantly. The display, buttons, and base are practically identical.The base is slightly smaller and lighter, with a stand protruding from the rear of the unit. The usual answerphone controls are present, along with a message counter (something the old one didn't have), showing clearly that you have new messages, the old one flashed to show a message, but unless you delete all messages straight away, there was no way of knowing how many were new/were on there already.Generally no real concerns about build, the important thing is the audio aspects surely? Well, I'm afraid to say that like many others I feel the sound quality is inferior to the old unit. Voices sound muffled and background noise is amplified far more (like TV's or radios), there is a "Noise Reduction" button, but it doesn't work very well to be honest, just makes the voice on the other end quieter. I have tried turning the speaker volume up to the maximum but that doesn't do a great deal. As far as I can tell, Panasonic have done this in an effort to reduce power consumption. The old unit worked at crazy distances from the base unit, but chewed through the battery life as a result. You were lucky to get 3 days out of it with general use, if you forgot to replace in the cradle. As a direct comparison I have left this unit in the living room for 5 days, using a normal amount of around 2 hours or so a day, it's still going strong with 40% battery life left. I have enabled "Low power mode" which reduces power by 90% apparently, I haven't noticed a huge drop in performance, but a couple of times when the wife has been standing directly in front of the base unit, there is a fair amount of interference and signal breakup.It seems strange that Panasonic would change a perfectly good design, in favour of an inferior one, but I guess it's all about POWER these days! To be fair the phone works just fine, calls are pretty standard, but I have noticed that I do have to ask people to repeat themselves more often, especially when speaking to people with thick accents, as these tend to become more muffled than most. To summarise:Positives = Battery life, Number of ringtones, Answerphone features (remote access/control), Clear display, Call barring (needs caller ID service to work)Negatives = Slightly muffled sound, not free-standing anymore, highly sensitive microphone picks up EVERYTHING in the room.Basically, if you have owned an older version of this model, like me; you may be disappointed. If purchasing this unit for the first time, I'm sure you won't notice these minor flaws, as it is a perfectly functional phone, well designed with an abundance of quality features.

I've read a lot of comments that the volume is too low on contemporary Panasonic DECT phones. I'm 65 but not deaf & do not have a problem with this model!Bought to replace a set of 10yr old Philips phones that didn't like new batteries. I really wanted new phones that use Lithium rechargeable batteries - no one seems to make them so have to put up with temperamental AAA NiMH.The display is black on white & very clear - my Philips was poor when the backlight was on.The phonebook holds 120 entries but you can't enter different numbers against a name without re-entering the name, unlike mobile phones. You cannot assign different ringtones to different callers but have far more ringtones than I need - 30 or maybe more.

I bought this Panasonic extension handset from Amazon Warehouse. It joins another handset I bought around 10 years ago. They both connect to a Panasonic base station (with handset) that's around 5 years old. They all work fine with one another. Thank goodness for DECT/GAP technology! Like the other handsets, this one includes a loudspeaker, for hands-free talking; and although the monochrome display is a bit jaggy and low-res, you can read what it says and work through the setup routine pretty easily. (If you have setup other Panasonic handsets, it's roughly the same.) You can customise the ring tone and its volume, and you can adjust the volume of the person you're talking to,

Delivery time was fast and the unit was well packaged. I suggest you ignore the 'One Star' reviews – this telephone is well worth a full five stars. It replaces an older Panasonic cordless telephone Which I have had for several years, and compares extremely well with its predecessor. The handset is slimmer and neater, the build is solid, and its performance excellent. Setting it up was simple, instructions easy to follow, and I was most impressed by the Programming pages 24 – 28, with their simple Codes, which give a fast access into all of the necessary adjustments.One point is well worth a comment. One of the setup sub- menus is 'Equaliser', which adjusts the volume level/quality of incoming and outgoing speech.

These phones replaced an older set which had seen better days. These new phones are so clear and so easy to set up and use. They have a brilliant intercom system so I can contact my other half when he is out in the garage which is approximately 200ft away and the phone is very clear even out there. No nasty beeping to tell us we are out of range which drove me made on the old phones. I take it in the garden and I can answer the phone when I am working out there with no problem at all. I am absolutely delighted with this set and for the price it could really not have been beaten. They look very stylish when sitting in their stands and they go into the stands easily and stay put which is another bonus compared to the old ones which just sort of sat and slid out of position.

They sit in the hand nicely, quite 'fat' which makes them easy to hold. Individual cradles are a bit light but haven't fallen over yet (although I might weigh them down somehow anyway).Obviously you have to set the time - once! The other units pick it up from the one. Being able to name the units is good, no guessing if you want to call the Garage (was that 3 or was it 4?) just highlight and call.Sound quality is good (although I need to set up the voice recognition better) and the volume is HUGE (adjustable).Very, very tempted to up the number I have to the max (six) but buying another set like this is very nearly cheaper than individual units - will work like that, so as I say,

So my husband needed a new phone for his office, he’s a bit ham-fisted and gets annoyed when he can’t easily dial, save numbers, etc. so I had orders to buy something easy to use.Slightly random connection but we recently purchased a new TV, another Panasonic item, and are so pleased with it I started looking at their home phones.I eventually chose this model because it has an answer-phone (vital for work), Caller ID (also vital) and is incredibly easy to use with large keys and screen.I set it up without needing to refer to the instructions, but they are so well written and easy to use I think my husband will get on brilliantly with them.No need to choose base station as they automatically connect to it,

The phones arrived on time but we have only had them a couple of days. Setting them up was comparatively easy, but note to self another time is, dont forget that the panic alarm is wired in to the old phone system and dont just gaily pull out all the wires, without making a diagram. Once I got my head around the instruction booklet, I managed to set it all up, including the intercom. But, and I had to dig deep in the Amazon reviews to find other purchasers' comments, it does sound much more muffled than my old Panasonic, which I only replaced because the charging unit had died after several years of use and could not be replaced. Nice system with lots of features but relatively easy to get going without having to read a ton of technical stuff first. I especially like the fact that you can set up basic things like date and time on one handset and, provided they are all on and working, the information is available to every handset. This goes for the phonebook too.I read on other reviews that some people had issues with the sound quality, but that isn't my experience thus far. The sound quality of both microphone and earpiece is more than adequate. The handsets are light and the information display is clear enough for people of all ages to read, as the characters and symbols are of a good size.The only thing that I would have a comment on,

Replaced BT handset with this twin Panasonic set. Easily setup (we only use basic settings and answering service) and works perfectly.Not really much to choose between the two (BT and Panasonic) in terms of basic features BUT...The BT handset was infuriating as it's default setup was to block nuisance calls. ie Without being set to do so.Unaware of what this feature meant, I missed 4 days of incoming calls until I finally called a friend to ask why they hadn't called me. They'd been trying for days to do so. (it blocked ALL incoming calls - outgoing calls not affected).I had assumed that if I wanted this feature activated, I would have to choose to do so.

We like the phones and the answering machine and would purchase the same again if needs be. Within saying that, the base stations are a bit light so tend to move when one picks up the phone, the instruction book is quite detailed which we found was a bit of a nuisance as we had to plough though loads of stuff we are not interested in just to set thing up, but all in all quite pleased with our purchaseAbout a year after our first purchase we decided to add an extra phone to the system, we sent off for it and it arrived soon enough we them charged it up ready to put into the system, but there were no instructions on how to do so in the box..

I bought this to replace a previous Panasonic pair of phones that we had in the house. I'm not disappointed to these upgrades to the previous model I had. First up, they're basic house phones so don't expect too many features. Having said that, one thing they've improved on significantly for me is the quality of the speaker mode. On my other Panasonic it was truly terrible, but now the quality is good and clear for a few of us to huddle around and speak to the person on the other end and understand each other. Battery life is good as well. Durability - as I've only had the phone for a couple of weeks it's a bit premature for that, but so far so good. It was certainly very easy to set up.

Bought twin by mistake wanted trio.contaxt customer service no help no reply but anyhow they r very reasonable priced and very good quality and super easy to install as all u need to do is connect the main base and the rest will just follow as the addition base in this one and if buy seperately are all wireless with cystral clear sound/clarity & connection.Very happy. Comes with nite mode options.. alarm.. and even has voice mail and voice msg where u can record ur own voice or go default. Over all i have always had panasonic and u cant fault em.my last ones stopped working as in stopped charging suddenly so im guessing the batts needed changing but these new panasonic were as much or a little

I've just bought this after getting nuisance calls from one number, (having used an insurance comparison site which seemed to have sold my number to some insurance/telephone marketing company). My previous cheapo phone couldn't block calls and neither would my telephone provider, without paying them a monthly amount. So... this phone is doing a perfect job. Its already blocked 3 phone calls (they call me hourly) from this dumb marketing company and I am unaware of them calling until I look at the list of missed calls. So this means that the phone doesn't ring when they call which I believe happens with other phones.I've not tried the answer machine yet (I've only had the phone a few hours)

Bought for my elderly mum who is not technology savvy. Easy to answer/end calls once I changed the factory setting. A manual is provided.She can manage the loudspeaker which she needs to enhance the sound.Good display to see who is calling once phone numbers are saved but I had to do that for her.Decided to switch-off the answerphone as she is always at home due to lockdown, but I think it cuts in too quick for her to answer anyway, I could not find a way to extend this. However the answerphone is easy enough for most people to use.There are now 4 handsets in the house which means there is always one conveniently placed as she walks with an aid this was essential.
