I had been looking at this type of collapsible kettle for a while because our trailer tent kitchen does not have a lot of storage space. When I saw the great price for this kettle and how cheap it was I must admit to been a bit sceptic that I was getting genuine Outwell goods. I needn't have worried, its the real McCoy! A good solid stainless steel base which does not warp with heat, so sits well on the gas stove. It does take longer to boil that a cheaper aluminium kettle but much safer to use. The kettle pores well in comparison to the standard camping kettle and the handle doesn't get as hot either. I think the only downside that I could think of, is that when full I found the design of the handle not a hundred present comfortable, but saying that I have arthritis in my hand and my husband says it was perfectly fine for him. A great buy for the super price.

I really cannot think of another product that is this well designed to be fit for purpose. This kettle is a cute kettle to have around and not clunky like the normal camping kettles. I was worried that it would lose heat quicker or not heat up as much as needed, but I was proved to be totally wrong in this. It actually seems hotter than my last one. The fact that it collapses when empty makes it so much easier to transport. If I could justify buying another I would. My only qualm is that I dithered about buying it for so long that I didn't optimise it's use. Comes in different colours too, to match your camping equipment.

I've been looking for a new kettle to use while camping , and for a laugh looked for a collapsible kettle. Was shocked when this Outwell Collapsible Kettle appeared. It arrived on time and well wrapped. I've only used this on my kitchen hob so far, and yes it works. It didn't melt. The handle doesn't get hot and when you are finished using, it collapses into its base. A must for any biker to have to save space . I can't wait to show it off. Thank you.Since my last post, l've used the kettle in field a few times and yes this is a brilliant bit of kit. Would recommend. Thank you x

This kettle is a gem. Being a tent camper, space is a premium when packing up the car for a trip so anything that collapses is a good thing. I am chuffed to bits with this kettle which, although pricey, did the job almost perfectly (I say almost because it doesn't whistle- if it whistled, I'd give it five stars for achieving the impossible). It's sturdy, the handle doesn't get hot, pours safely, and it holds enough water for a cup of tea and a wash in the morning, and two hot water bottles at night. Plus, it's pretty to look at- which is always welcome!

My husband was unconvinced about this kettle, and thought it may fall apart, but on the basis of how good the rest of the outwell collaps stuff has been, so we bought it to save space in our campervan. it has been brilliant, we've used it no end, on a petrol stove, and theres no sign of wear or leaks, the green plastic has slightly discoloured due to the soot, but this would probably scrub off if we gave it a really good clean. It holds enough water for 6 baby bottles and two cups of tea! All in all, a great purchase!

It works, as in it gets your water boiling. However, the lid is a bit flimsy, if you want to look inside to see of the water is really boiling (it doesn't whistle, even though it looks like it should). Also the little hole on top seems not to let enough air through for the water to flow properly into your cup.Folding and unfolding it is quite a bit of work.It does seem quite sturdy though, chances are it will last for a long time, judging from the other Outwell products I own. It looks funky and I love the colour.

This does need water boiled in the kettle before use.A decent sized kettle, that you do need to know how much you really need before over filling.Positive side is that you don't burn your hands when lifting the kettle, so well insulated.Biggest down side is there is no whistle or any other indicator to let you know when it is boiling. You may not think this is a big problem, given steam will show, but on anything but a perfectly still day, the steam is blown away and the kettle will be boiling.

when the kettle arrived i was suprised how small it was and how flat the product was when collapsed. it boils quickly and the handle is cool enough to handle when boiled without having to use a towel. it holds more than I expected too and can fill 4 mugs easily.a brilliant addition to our camping kitchen

Works brilliantly - but remember to do a first boil & discard the water. I forgot & tea tasted horrid! Capacity suitable for 4 good mugs, some similar items are much smaller capacity. Oh, & I got stung on the postage, as forgot that add on items don't count towards £20 minimum carriage free order.

The Collaps range of Outwell products are amazing! So compact, easy to store! Best of all this kettle holds more water than expected - able to fill 6 mugs from one boil! NB. Only put as much water as needed for your purpose, if you use a full kettle it takes a long time to reach boiling

I purchased one of these kettles 2 years ago and with daily use (including folding it down after each use) it has lasted until now. Very pleased with it as had expected it to only last a few months. The silicone? developed a tear where it connects to metal and where it folds down.

An ideal kettle if space is limited. It has a large capacity, is robust enough to withstand the heat of a gas cooker and when you've finished with it it's easy to push down into its small state. I love it and would recommend it to campers/picknickers and lorry drivers

I have used this kettle all summer and would recommend it if you need a kettle that takes up minimal storage space. It is easy to pop up to its full size and collapse after use. Boils water quickly...amazed at how quick it is.......best buy of the summer.

Neat kettle well made that folds up just as described. I use it in my van and it goes in a really shallow drawer. Hope it lasts as there is quite a severe crease in the way it folds but 12 months on and all is well and it seems robust.

Great kettle, boils really quickly, makes about 4 mugs of tea, easy to collapse, shame it doesn't whistle when boiled, small price to pay for a small piece of camping equipment when space is a premium. Would recommend.
