Let me preface this review by saying that at the moment I do not have any smart home hub that supports Zigbee technology so I am unable to test that side of this product which is its main selling point. Once I do get it I will update the review. At first, I was unsure how to get this lightbulb working, it seemed as if I would be able to control it via my phone, but only by reading thoroughly, I realized that this requires a special separate hub that supports Zigbee technology. Why yet another technology, why couldn't it have been WiFi since it is present everywhere. Well upon research I found out that Zigbee is a better communication protocol for smart home appliances as the devices have to use extremely low power to send data which increases battery life drastically, and the devices are doubling as communication mesh where the signal can piggyback over 64,000 devices before reaching the target device.Thankfully this is not the only product that supports Zigbee, actually, there are a lot of products that support Zigbee technology which is good to know as I usually do not like niche technologies and products as it locks you to a particular ecosystem and is not very modular. From the perspective of normal use case without Zigbee technology, I am not very happy with the way this bulb works. If you do not have any other way of controlling the bulb but the basic switch, this bulb does not behave normally, rather it cycles through the 4 colours every time you turn it on to notify you that it has not been linked with any remote or smart hub which is very annoying if you do not have these devices. They should have thought of a different way of letting the user know that the bulb is in factory mode other than cycling through colours, which is also a health risk for epileptic. Once linked it starts behaving like a normal bulb if turned off/on using a switch.Their remote gives you some smart control as you can control the bulb from a distance, and given this is an RGB light bulb you are able to cycle through 16 million colours as well as turn it on/off or dim it.This bulb is quite bright at 800 lumens which is within the 60 Watt halogen range as they claim, all good there. It produces warm white light so it is suitable for the bedrooms, living rooms and any comfortable areas as the 2700 K feels warm and comforting so I would avoid putting them in general areas such as kitchens and bathrooms where more sterile light is better suited. The dimming feature is very nice, however, I would have liked if it could be dimmed further, the lowest setting for the white colour is still too strong in my opinion so it is not suitable to be used for a bedside table lamp but rather for the ceiling lamp, however, the lowest setting for other colours is dim enough. The way they set up the remote makes it very annoying to dim the lights as you have to hold the up or down button until the desired level of brightness is reached which takes some time, the same applies for changing colours, you have to press the middle button until the desired colour is reached. It is very easy to register new bulbs to the remote, however, they could have handled the confirmation of connection differently, flashing bulb is a health risk for epileptic. The remote supports up to 10 bulbs which should be plenty, however, do note that if the devices are too close it is almost impossible to turn one without the other as the signal travels to all devices in range (30 m in the open), this is where Zigbee technology becomes very useful. The good thing about the remote is the fact you are able to replace the battery without the remote forgetting the bulbs.Overall, I would say that this is an interesting product comparable to Philips Hue but it is not worth buying without smart home hub as it gives you the ability to fine-tune each individual or group of bulbs and other smart home devices from your phone.

This Ledvance ZigBee light bulb can be integrated into a ZigBee compatible smart home to allow remote control of its brightness and colour temperature. It is the LED equivalent of a 40w incadescent candle bulb and at only 6w is energy efficient. Of course if you are only want an energy efficient bulb there are cheaper alternatives on the market. However if you are after ZigBee integration then this is a good choice. When you turn the bulb on from new it is in pairing mode, indicated by cycling through a few shades of white before coming fully on. To use the bulbs full capabilities you need to pair it with a ZigBee compatible system such as Philips hue, the Amazon Echo Plus with ZigBee functionality,or other home network with a ZigBee compatible hub.I am still waiting for my zigbee hub to arrive so cannot test the full integration of this device. Luckily I have a Ledvance Smart Switch which can connect to the bulb without a hub using its "Touchlink" functionality.1. Turn on smart+ bulb, wait 20 seconds2. Holding smart switch less than 5cm from bulb, keep the up and down buttons pressed for duration of pauring process.3. Small blue led on smart switch should start flashing indicating pairing progress.4. Within around 10 seconds blue led should be continuously lit showing bulb found5. Bulb should flash indicating pairing complete and you can now control bulb via switch6. If bulb did not flash, or smart switch illuminated red led, then repeat process. This process worked and on test the bulb worked fine. This limited test case showed that I could remotely switch the bulb on and off and control its brightness using the switch buttons. Once I get the ZigBee hub I will be able to integrate the bulb into my smart home system. At this moment in time I cannot give the bulb 5 stars, as I have not been able to test its full integration into my smart home. I am going to give it 4 stars as the bulb can obviously be controlled by zigbee devices, and it works as a controllable bulb. If difficulties arise when i get my zigbee hub I will lower the star rating, if integration into my network is smooth I will increase the rating. In summary, nice zigbee E14 bulb, only really of real use if you have a zigbee compatible smart home system.

Materials:White plastic shellTop light cover is made from see through plasticLamp base is GU 5.3 standard (two thin & sharp metal connector pins)Size:Bulb head diameter is 51 mmTotal height is 50mm (including the metal pins)Weight is around 70 grams (rather heavy for a GU 5.3 bulb, but it has all the smart electronics inside)Installation:Mounting the lamp on the ceiling is very straightforward, all you have to do its just plug the metal adaptors and then lock it in its nest. To activate remote control you would need HUB device, (i.e. Amazon Echo plus, Philips Hue & etc.). Hub devices establish a gateway connection to all the smart devices in your home.I personally managed to connect this Light Bulb Smart Reflector to my Echo plus 2 rather easily, just keep turning off and on the light for 5 consecutive times with a 3 seconds interval in-between and it will enter into pairing mode, then just go to the amazon Alexa pp and you will find it, add wi-fi password and assign to which room it is.Impressions:The LED bulb is pretty bright, rated at 350 lumens it produces a non-flickering light that can range from warm white (2700K) to cool day light (6500K). Another great feature is that this LED bulb is dimmable, so you can choose the light levels to your liking.Having a set of these lamps around my house would be a fabulous idea, as i will be able to control the lighting inside just with my voice, thanks to Alexa but the pricing is a bit too much, one lamp costs 40 £ and I would need around 35 lamps to fully replace all the LED lamps in my house, therefore I have to ask myself, is it really worth it?Build quality and materials feel like top notch, but I hope that pricing for these bulbs would hopefully soon go down as technology/materials required to build them don't really justify the sell price. I am going to give it 4/5 stars due to pricing, other than that its a great bulb.

I normally only use Philips Hue bulbs for my smart home lighting but they are very expensive, I wanted one for my bedroom ceiling light and I don't have other Hue bulbs in that room other than two hue go's on my wardrobe so I wouldn't have a problem if there was a mismatch. It was easy to fit to my existing holder and once turned on I connected it to the Hue Hub quite easily, the instructions were not great in this regards but if you have connected other Zigbee bulbs you will know how to do it. I also connected it to my SmartThings Hub and again it connected without issue.I was surprised that once I had added it to the Hue hub that it integrated with the other hue bulbs for timers and scenes,I wasn't expecting it to be able to do that, so now at dusk it comes on as part of my Hue scene and turns out with a voice command via Alexa. As with all Zigbee bulbs it integrated with Alexa as soon as it was connected to the Hub.The bulb itself is quite bright, can be dimmed and has a good range from warm white to cool white with everything in-between just as the Hue white ambiance does.If you don't need colour and want to save some money on your hue or zigbee lighting then this is for you.Recommended.

At first I didn't think this would work. The instructions mention linking via a partner hub which I don't have a dedicated one for this. I do however have a hue hub which helped connect the light and then I set it up within a room so I could change the colour from a warm white to a cool white. From here I could also change the brightness.I searched for new devices on the Alexa app on my phone and got this working on voice command now and linked it to my other routines.I'm not sure this would work with other bridges or without one at all. There appears to be facilities to work the light via the 'smart life'app which I use for some smart plugs i have but the on screen instructions suggested it was looking for the previously mentioned dedicated bridge for this make of light. My advice is to check this will work with your existing bridge or check if you need one before purchasing. I got a little lucky, but really happy with the light I got because it still works the way I wanted it too.

The Ledvance smart E14 home light works on the zigbee technology the same as Philips hue does. So in theory it should work with a Philips hue hub as I don’t have the LedVance gateway hub. I haven’t actually tried to connect it to my Philips hub yet so I’m unable to confirm if it works but according to some websites I researched it can be done. The QR code on the instruction manual does not work and neither did the one printed on the actual bulb. However the QR code on the back of the box does allowing you to download the app.The bulb itself is 6watts and is a warm white that is dimmable with a class A+ energy rating. The bulb is Amazon Alexa enabled and also works with the google Assistant.Overall it’s a decent bulb with a some slight flaws but great value compared to some of it’s bigger competitors.

This is a Ledvance zigbee GU5.3 MR16 tunable white bulb, it’s heavier and longer than the Philips LED GU5.3 bulb that it replaced, weighing 69 gms to the Philips’ 27 gms. It connected to my Hue system reliably and without problem, (I did a search for new lights from the Hue app and then put the power to the light on, it found the light immediately as a “Color Temperature Light” model MR16 TW Osram). Once it was connected to the hue app I had control over the colour temperature, from warm to cool, and it dimmed smoothly from the app or a Hue dimmer switch. The light is bright, on a par with a 35 watt bulb. Ledvance appears to be the new name for Osram lights; I have several Osram zigbee lights and they’ve proven to be very good.Quality product.

Really like this, was looking for a cheap zigbee GU10 alternative and found this little gem, was able to pick it up from my HA zigbee dongle in seconds from plugging it in and had it integrated to my smart home in minutes.Find it to be far brighter than the Philips hue, tho I only had the white variant of them due to the insane cost but even at white it seems much brighter.Otherwise not much to say, it's colours are good, even does purple well and very happy with it's performance.Don't really have any complaints at all with this other than within one day the price went from £23 to £30 which is insane jump and looses some bonus of being a cheaper alternative.

Product is fine, although the item I received looks as though it may have been a return judging by the torn packaging inside the box.I've fitted the bulb in my porch (outdoors) and have connected it to my existing Hue bridge with no issues.I've connected the bulb to my Ring doorbell via IFTTT so that it switches on when it detects movement. I've also added the bulb to my Hive app so it can be controlled from there and all seems to be fine. The colours are very vivid, although I'll mostly be using only the daylight white and reserve colours for special occasions like Halloween etc.

I got this so when I'm late to come home I can turn on the lights from my phone like someone is home.It works seamlessly with iPhone, Alexa and Siri which I love and is so useful. You can ask her to turn it on/off and even have pre set modes.Whilst using it I’ve found that it definitely works better when closer to the WiFi and that if placed a little to far away it’s response to commands from your phone can be delayed. It’s so much fun but useful too.

I got this as I'm obsessed with lights and moods, I like certain lights during day/evening for reading or writing and then watching television, I often have lamps and night lights and big light now I have all this is one bulb this made me so happy and it has a remote and works with Alexander I don't even need to move :-)

I purchased these for the garden as was worried about the cost of replacing Hue bulbs if they got wet. However these are actually brighter with a better colour range than Hue and integrate seamlessly into the bridge

Great item. I can now control lights even when I'm not home using the app. Handy for if I'm late home and I don't want people to know I'm out.
