I really like Osprey packs and own several of them, including the previous version of the Nebula. The 2019 version has improved a bit, but Osprey made some questionable changes as well. The Nebula is a good-sized pack. At 34L, I find it a good size for travel, particularly because of the TSA-approved laptop compartment. All of the dimensions of the 2019 version are the same as the previous version, but somehow weighs .3 pounds more. 2.43 pounds isn’t a ton, but when you’re traveling with lots of gear, every ounce matters to your shoulders. On the other hand, it still weighs less than my TNF Recon pack and my OGIO Renegade pack. Despite the added weight, the 2019 Nebula still feels comfortable on my shoulders. The straps and padding on the back do a good job of providing cushion and ventilation. I use the sternum strap all the time, but usually remove the waist straps. The laptop compartment in the 2019 Nebula is virtually unchanged. The laptop pocket is well-cushioned and doesn’t drop all the way to the bottom, so when you put your pack down, it won’t bottom out. The entire laptop section zips open to lay flat, so it can go through the airport scanners without you having to take your laptop out. I’ve done this a handful of times without any problems except once, when the TSA agent didn’t like that I left a tablet in the pocket on the other side of the laptop pocket. I’d done it before, so I don’t know why it was an issue this time, but they made me take the tablet out and ran the bag through the scanner again. When you’re not using this area for your laptop, you can also place your hydration bladder there and thread your tube and mouthpiece out the top, which is normally covered shut by a flap. The main storage compartment has changed slightly. It’s still very roomy and there’s a file pocket on the back side, but new this year is a zippered compartment on the flap side. This is the only zippered internal pocket in the 2019 Nebula. The old version also only had one zippered pocket, but it was in the smaller, organizational compartment. The organizational compartment has gone through the biggest change. The big improvement here is with the 3 stretchy pockets. The old version had a weird, droopy webbing. The new version has a more uniform style that seems to secure items better. The keyring hook is still there, but Osprey not only removed the zippered pocket from this section, but they also removed all of the other organizational pockets too, so there’s no place to put your pen/stylus, cards, small notebooks, or other small items you used to be able to store in the old version. The outer, mesh pocket is great for storing all sorts of things you need quick access to, like thin jackets, gloves, snacks, etc. The 2019 version has more material to cover more of what you’re storing there, but they removed the buckle that used to secure those items. I’m not sure why Osprey did that. Past the bottom of the mesh pocket, on the outside, there’s also a place where you can clip a blinking light for security. The 2019 version is a very thin(flimsy) material that you clip the light onto. The old version had a thicker, very well-sewn loop to clip the light onto. Speaking of loops, the old version also had two loops on the front of the bag, near the top--one on each side, which was very useful for clipping on all sorts of things. The 2019 version doesn’t have any loops at all. The stretchy side pockets are still great for water bottles or small umbrellas. And lastly, the zipper pulls have been enlarged so they’re easier to grab. The zippers themselves seem to work smoother than on the old version.I like the 2019 Nebula, but I don’t think all the changes they made were for the better. If you have to have organizational pockets, but like the Osprey brand and the size of the Nebula and the TSA-approved laptop compartment, you might want to look for the older version of the Nebula. If you don’t care about the lack of organizational pockets, because you don’t mind or even prefer to use a separate pouch for your smaller items, then this new Nebula is definitely worth looking at. I personally use pouches quite a bit, so I myself am fine with the 2019 Nebula and also really like the Sentinel Grey color.

It's an amazing bag extremely comfortable I had it for college at 9kg witch I dunno how it's havier than my back packing gear. For comfort on that after 2 hours was a tiny bit sore on my shoulders and recemond doing all the compression straps even when the bag isn't this heavy it drastically helps with comfort. the sturdiness is a hard one as when I received it it was brand new in all packaging but many loose threads where a concern. But taking it fishing and falling backwards on to it there really is no worry. I was worried about the mesh it's super handy I use it more then I thought hasn't been an issue yet and most won't take it fishing and just to work witch it hasn't taking any wear from.On the waterproof side I bought a osprey pack cover for a 35L bag and yet it doesn't cover 100% leaves a bit at the side. My laptop is 16inch and works great u can definitely fit 18 in my opinion. When it was packed to that 9kg and went for a nice walk it feels like Ur back is close to sweating it definitely helps I'm a heavey sweater and this seems to get warm and stop just on the verge of sweating. It's hard to make a good ventilation I understand when there's a laptop in the way. I didn't think I would use all three pockets but one goes to folders refill pads the middle one pencil case such items and the laptop goes in the laptop with the charger then last pocket at the rear is what evers left as battery bank. This bag works great with big bottles such as nalgenes. I had the apogge before and it was a struggle a nalgene u needed a 500ml bottle to use it easily and then when I put my laptop in u just couldn't use the 1L nalgene at all. I would've liked to see a way to stow hide the hip belt as it's very long for me and just dangles around and I step on them when its on the ground or even just a way to quickly remove them and reattach as on this bag it's a hassle to take of and on only complaint so far of a month and a half of use.

After purchasing the Osprey Atmos 50 litre pack a few months ago and then trying it out on a really decent overnight hike, I became a convert of the brand. If you're looking for a decent hiking pack that redistributes weight and makes the load feel lighter, you simply have to try out the Osprey Anti-Gravity gear. Anyway, back to the Nebula...When recently looking to replace my High Sierra backpack, I decided to look at Osprey for options. Don't get me wrong, the High Sierra backpack has served me well for over ten years, typically carrying photography gear and/or food and drink etc. But it has started to wear out in various places. The Nebula pack seemed perfect for my needs, with enough space to house photography gear or whatever else I typically need to pack for day trips and the like. It has three compartments; a protective laptop space at the back, a large voluminous middle section and a smaller front section. So your major bulky items can go into the middle bit and loose stuff can get put into the front section. Documents, a laptop, iPad and other things like that can reside in the rear compartment. Most importantly, the bag just seems to be made of quality materials and feels really sturdy in the way it's put together. The shoulder straps are padded sufficiently and there is also an airspace at the back to minimise some of that slimy back sweat that often occurs when wearing packs.I suspect this bag will last a very long time and I'm really pleased with the purchase.

I've had an Osprey backpack for the last eight years that this new one is replacing. My old one is actually in great shape and I could keep using it, but it's nice to have a new one with an updated look. All of the stitching is strong and the backpack is made out of all of the same water/dirt repellent fabrics like my old one. I really like the sleek design of this bag and especially the green interior as it helps me see the contents of my bag easier. The only very slight negative is that the front most pocket doesn't have the same double zippers as all of the other pockets. This means you have to open and close the front package from all the way at the bottom.I think this might be a security feature so that no one can sneak into that pocket, but I'd rather have two zippers closed to the top center like the other ones. It's not a deal breaker and this bag is exceptionally functional, roomy, rugged, and attractive. In a way, it's a bit more professional looking and I feel better carrying it to the office than I did my previous bag. My favorite thing is there's a top zipper compartment where I keep all of my charging cables, batteries, and headphones. It's great to get at these things without having to open the entire bag, plus they're well-organized in there.

Tons of pockets, flaps covering zippers, brightly colored inside so you can find your stuff and seriously nice backpad insert and zipper design. The design has changed a bit over the years from reviews/walkthroughs I found online. From pocket doesn't bother with a clasp, and they have put in a heavier duty material where you can clip on a bike light. This is a serious backpack for hiking or daily commuter use. Room for several changes of clothes, laptops, tablets, 2 waterbottles, and more. The interior has zip up pockets as well as open ones.My17" Lenova flipbook is going to live here when not in use. I think it will also be home to some of my action cams, 360 cameras and sound equipment. It will stand up when stuffed, and the laptop sleeve is cushioned between the back support piece and the everything else is protecting it from hits.Osprey also has a lifetime repair or replace policy, so while it is not a cheap bag, but you won't be replacing it once a year or more like the cheap stuff. And it really feels nice across the back with the updated backing insert. Check out the pictures. I liked it enough that I took a ton of pictures. Nice backpack Osprey!

The big question is Osprey v BerghausI have previously owned a Berghaus and I thought that was the crème de le creme of bags, however after buying this I am in no doubt this is superiror and more sturdy than any other bag I have had before. The inner pockets are good for keeping items in an organised manner and there is so much space that I use this for commuting, cycling to work, generally travelling and keep my essentials in place.I would 100% recommend the size is perfect and the pockets provide ample space to ensure all my goodies are kept in order. My laptop is also secure and is cushioned appropriately I can hardly feel it when carry my backpack around. The only issue I have with this bag is that it looks to cool on me,but then again it is practical so I'm please ?

Even though they have clearly labeled this backpack to be for men, and I am definitely not a man, I still love this backpack. It is so incredibly comfortable. So many backpacks bite into my underarms but this one does not. The shoulder straps are very well padded and the perfect width. I especially like the zipper pulls. They are sturdy and easy to grab and make using the zippers pleasant. There are plenty of pockets and it's roomy enough to store pretty much whatever you'd need during the day (I'm actually thinking it would even work as a diaper bag, there's that much space). The sleeve for the laptop fits my 15" one very well and it has a nice closure to keep it extra secure.I very highly recommend this backpack. I'd give it more than 5 stars if I could, I love it that much.

I use this to hold all of the extras when traveling with the family. I bought my original one in 2013 and have used it for every vacation since - it holds everything. The only thing I don’t like about it are the plastic adjustment pieces for the hip straps. I never used the hip straps, in my opinion if you are using them to hold weight on your hips they should be more substantial. I find the plastic prices are always digging into my back/sides and getting caught on my belt.Other than that, it is great. I’m just going to cut the hip straps off.

Osprey is a great brand so I purchased this bag for my husband for our recent trip to the east coast. I have the women's version of the older model. The new model is a little different, less pockets in the front zippered area and no clip to secure the outer open pocket. Overall, it's a good bag. My husband said it packed nicely but was a little smaller than he thought it would be. He used this as his carry on bag and was able to put three change of clothes, snacks, and two magazines.

I choose the Osprey Nebula over the North Face Surge and Recon and I must say that I am very happy about this choice. The backpack looks very professional and has a ton of size and compartments. No matter how much you fill the backpack it still looks slim. There is only one thing that I wished osprey did better: Thicker straps! I think the current straps are too thin and I don't like the material a lot. The comfort of the bag is a 3.5/5. Everything else is perfect.

I recently went on a bucket list vacation to Alaska. I noticed that everywhere I looked, the airport, the ship port and on land excursions, I saw people wearing Osprey backpacks of one form or another. Honestly, I had never heard of Osprey but now after that experience I have two, the Nebula laptop bag and a travel model (Porter 46) that will hold enough for several days. Both bags are of the highest quality, functional and work great for any age person.

Really good looking, sturdy travel bag which has so many pockets you can definitely store a good few days worth of clothes in here no problem. I bought it for my fiance for christmas to use as a travel bag and a work bag so the laptop compartment was very important. He is very pleased with it and the way it can easily look smart enough to take to meetings but also strong and durable enough to take on a plane to go on trips.

The bag is great overall but the problem with an omni edc do it all bag is it never really hits all the marks. The straps took some getting use to they were a bit uncomfortable at first.I wish you could tuck away the waist straps or they had a bit better support to them.Interior main compartment starts to get pushed in when packed out but that's to be expected.I'd say this bag is a 3.9/5

15.4.2020

I use this as my daily commute backpack and it is standing up to my previous packpack that I REALLY liked. Osprey seems to use some good quality materials so I'm pretty confident it is going to last a few years. Design is good and plenty of relevant pockets etc... Only complaint is the top zip doesn't have two zips instead it just has the one, but it's a small moan.

I got this as a gift for my 28yr boyfriend and he absolutely loves it. He said he thinks of things to do just so he can use it haha. The quality is amazing and it looks really nice and smart. I did carry it once when it had a lot of heavy things in it and I couldn’t believe how comfortable it was on my back!Overall a really good buy
