I've been using this toothbrush for a couple of weeks now. I was previously using a manual brush, so cannot say whether the sonicness is better than a standard electric brush, but I can confirm with certainty that this is MUCH better than a manual brush. The first nice thing is that this brush came fully charged, so I didn't have to wait to try it out. From the very first day my teeth felt a lot smoother and shinier and the feeling lasts all day. The 2 minutes (split into 30 second periods, so you can divide the time between each area of your mouth) doesn't feel enough to me psychologically, but it clearly is because my teeth look really nice and white now,and for once I didn't need a scale and polish when I had my dental checkup today. The cupped shape of the brush head with its pointed tip means that the bits in between my teeth get a proper going over too. I like the way the head is normal-toothbrush-sized, and the barrel is much thinner than most electric brushes, so it feels compact, comfortable in my hand.I didn't experience any sensitivity or bleeding when first using this brush, but it does feel a little strange to start as the buzzing is quite powerful. There's a clear difference between sensitive and standard mode, so if you do find it uncomfortable, start with the gentler vibrations of sensitive mode and work your way up.I have only two annoyances. The first is that the lead to the charging unit is too short. In my bathroom the two pin shaver plug (into which the charger for this brush fits) is attached to the light over the bathroom mirror, and I need about 1.5 feet to allow it to stretch to the counter. So I have had to place the charging unit on top of some stacked toiletries, which is very awkward. I think they ought to make allowances for this, because aren't most people's shaver plugs in the same place? The second annoyance is the cost of replacement brush heads, but then most electric toothbrushes are the same, that's how the companies make their money. The starter kit is sold at a cut price as a loss leader, and then they've got you paying eye-watering prices for the spares. This kit only came with one head so if you will be sharing this with your partner or family, you'll have to pay out straight away. Ouch. So they lose a point due to these two annoyances, but overall I would recommend this brush as stylish and effective.Update: this brush finally stopped working (wouldn't charge any more) on January 6th, 2014.

...and slightly scary. I'm grateful for the information in the box, which gives simple, detailed instructions and describes the technology of the Pulsonic Slim Sonic. It reassures me to know that I'm using it correctly (yes, I am a nerd) and I like knowing how this is supposed to differ from its predecessors or other models. It has a sensitive setting, for example, and stutters when it thinks you've been brushing at one section for long enough. It also has a power light -- my old basic one didn't have one -- which at least lets you know when it is charging. (We didn't realize the fuse had gone on an adaptor once and the base unit hadn't been charging until our old electric toothbrush conkedout on us mid-use.)The Pulsonic Slim Sonic is closer in size and looks to a traditional manual toothbrush, funnily enough, than my old Braun Oral B electric rechargeable toothbrush: its handle is thinner and the head is elongated and notched rather than round. It's narrower and easier to get the tip into awkward nooks and crannies provided they're not too deep (when I imagine the slightly longer profile would make it awkward to maneuver). It makes my old one look clunky suddenly, and it could be more convenient to pack, given it's slimmer. It works, too. I haven't even used it a month and my teeth look and feel cleaner, though not LOADS cleaner than when I use my old BOB electric one. Following the instructions, you use it more like a manual toothbrush, too, moving it in circles or back and forth across the tooth surfaces. My problem is that, despite the warning in the information leaflet that it would happen and my following the recommendation, my gums did sting in a couple of places, which I resented. (Unreasonably, I know. And here's why...) AND it sounds aggressive. It sounds like my dentist's drills -- a sound that I never expected to hear in my mouth at home away from my dentist. And didn't ever want to either. Putting it on the sensitive setting takes the high-pitched whine down a notch, but it still sounds like a peevish (rather than pissed-off) wasp. My clunky old BOB suddenly becomes more attractive, friendlier. Now there's something I never thought I'd think about an electric toothbrush. For all that, I may be just being an old fogey here but I think if I persevered in using this, I would eventually get used to the sound. For now, I'll be alternating between this and my comfy old one and maybe considering phasing it in as a replacement.

I’ve been using an ionic sonic electric toothbrush for the last 10 years. I was really pleased with them. During that time I’ve had three of them and I’d have bought another if they were still available. I searched online everywhere I could think of without success. The ionic sonic got even the backs of my teeth clean. So I spent a further four evenings evaluating available alternatives. I didn’t want to be paying £200.00 for a tooth brush. I settled on this one with no great joy of purchase. It arrived by Royal Mail earlier than anticipated and was well boxed. I didn’t open it until I got home later in the day which is unusual for me because I normally can’t wait to get purchases opened and in hand!!This is indeed a slimline brush. It is really well made, was charged and ‘oven ready’ so I had a go. I LOVE IT!! It’s powerful, well made and effective. I’d been using a manual brush for nine days and could feel the build up on the backs of my teeth. This little brush which I have to say is elegant, very much surprised me. Powerful and effective my teeth have not felt this smooth and clean in a long time. Oral-B state it will last a week using it for two minutes a time twice a day. Even if you were to offer me a brand new model of the item I used to use I wouldn’t swap back. This sonic electric toothbrush is ACE! Two pin plug for charger unit. Brush stands in a plastic holder on the charger which is removable for ease of cleaning. One brush supplied. New brush heads readily available and cheaper than the old heads I had to buy (half the price). I’m happy that I couldn’t find a new item the same as my old brush. Registered the new brush online and now have three year guarantee. The on/off button on my old brush used to pack up at about two to two and half years so this guarantee is a bonus. Utterly pleased all ways round. Hope this helps you decide if your new to this model. Good luckUpdate: 29 Nov 2017The battery certainly last for 10 days, using for a little more than two minutes a time, twice a day. I'm still really pleased with this toothbrush. I now don't know if the sonic element which I previously thought so effective was indeed making a difference at all. I have no issues with this item at all in fact I think its an effective and efficient tool which is elegant to see on the bathroom window ledge!! I recommend highly.

The slimline, lightweight design is great. This is far better for taking on holiday than the previous chunky ones. The instructions state that the charge will last a week -- having tested it, it does last a week: giving two brushes per day. The replacement heads aren't too pricey at around £4 each: you only need one every three months. I did feel a little short changed -- considering the cost of the pack -- that there was no spare brushhead in the box, especially since there appeared to be a compartment for one and I spent a while searching about inside the box for it.The instructions warn you that you need to get used to the initial feel of the sonic action and this is true --it does feel alittle weird when you first use it -- very tingly -- a bit like someone's giving you a Novocain injection. However, as the instructions suggest, I did get used to it and I really don't notice any old sensation any more, so do persist. My teeth did feel cleaner after just the first use. It has two settings -- normal and gentle -- but I even found the normal one reasonably gentle and don't think it will aggressively push back gums as I found the older models of the Oral-B were prone to do.The feature I'm not so keen on is the 'shudder' every 30 seconds to prompt you to move on to clean a different part of your mouth. This rather compels you to brush 'their way': one 'quadrant' at a time. Changing one's ingrained brushing routine doesn't come easily. It would be useful if you could de-select the 'shudder'. The other thing is the size and shape of the brushhead. It's shaped like a tiny little mountain range and it doesn't always make exact contact with the contours of MY teeth on the innerside -- although it's great on the outside surface covering both the teeth and the gums. I think it's a bit overengineered and I would prefer a flat or oval headed brush. This is the only reason it didn't get 5 stars. You can't put a price on oral hygiene and if you haven't tried a sonic toothbrush, I would recommend that you do -- it could well be a revelation.

This is very much a first impressions review. Its going to cover my immediate thoughts having used the Oral-B Pulsonic Slim Sonic Toothbrush for a week. That means its not going to cover things like ongoing reliability or how well it keeps my teeth clean in the long term. If you want that information look elsewhere or wait until I get around to updating this review at some point in the future. This is the second sonic toothbrush I've ever owned. The first was a Phillips model that was retired many years ago. In terms of the quality of the cleaning action and the results the Oral-B is a definite step up. Less intense than the Phillips in terms of the sonic 'pulses'it produces it never-the-less leaves teeth feeling well cleaned. I mostly use the standard mode but the 'sensitive' option gives an equally good clean and with even less severe vibrations. Its also slim and light and feels more like a normal manual toothbrush than many other electric models. Its also quiet enough to use in an en-suite bathroom with someone sleeping in the room next door. As with all Braun products the build quality seems high and it has a nice solid feel. The manufacturers also appear to sensibly have chosen materials that are unlikely to stain or attract significant dirt build up. The entire handset is washable, as is the detachable cradle it sits in when charging (although not the charger unit itself).I can't comment on battery life as I haven't taken the handset away travelling yet, but I doubt this will be an issue for most people and if the manufacturer's claims are accurate it should last long enough on a full charge to get through a couple of week's holiday. The charger unit itself is small and slim enough to not clog up a bathroom shelf and to be easy to pack if necessary.Overall the Braun Oral-B Pulsonic Slim Sonic Rechargable Toothbrush appears to be a high quality product that produces good if unspectacular results. It easily deserves a four star 'I Like It' rating.

I've been using electric toothbrushes for around 13 years now and I have to admit they have all been Braun. I started out with the rotary type and the other year moved onto the sonic version. However and a big however is each and every one have been bulky. While not a problem they are still a hand full, so when I came across this latest version on Amazon I was interested, however I just couldn't be asked to purchase it at the price quoted. Imagine my surprise when I came across this at the local supermarket for £30.Well I've owned it now for a week and what do I have to say:1) Its very well constructed and finished.2) My initial charge took 14 hours and according to the bumf supplied each subsequent charge will also take 14 hours .(Which is why I own a couple of Electric toothbrushes)3) A doddle to use, but then it is just a toothbrush.4) It doesn't feel as aggressive as my older Braun Sonic toothbrush5) In under a weeks use, my teeth have become visibly whiter. Now I try to take care of my teeth, I floss, I use non-alcoholic mouth wash (Supposed to be kinder to your gums) I visit a hygienist as well as a dentist and I of course brush my teeth. Yet because I drink tea, coffee and red wine, of late my teeth have become stained. All of the above haven't succeeded in shifting those stains, yet and a very big yet I can visually see the difference from using this toothbrush for just a few days. If this trend continues I shall be ditching my older sonic and replacing it with another one of these. So am I impressed? Is the Pope a Catholic?. My only problem is because as I couldn't be asked to purchased one of these at the price above. I purchased an Omron Sonic 458 off the net before I popped into Asda. I've yet to mouth test that one. But its going to have to be something really special to beat the Braun.

I bought this toothbrush for my Dad, who has had the same toothbrush for years now and it's getting quite old. In comparison to most electric toothbrushes this one is surprisingly slim, which is an added bonus if you want to take the toothbrush on holiday. If you read the instructions before using the brush it will warn you that it may take a few brushes to get used to the sonic action. This was one of the first things that my Dad commented on, how tingly it was and he wasn't too keen on it at first. I told him to persevere and after a few days he's gotten used to it and it actually feels like it gives a better clean than his last toothbrush. There are 2 settings on the toothbrush, Clean and Sensitive,so far it's only been used on the Clean setting so I can't comment on what the Sensitive setting is like. The battery life on the toothbrush is average, you can get around a week out of it, which for it's size is pretty good I think. As my Dad had his old toothbrush for years it needed charging practically every 2 days, so the battery life is welcomed and it also means he can take it away on holiday without a charger for a week. The replacement brush heads seem reasonably priced and there was a replacement in the box, although it did state 2 replacement heads which was a bit disappointing. This is a good toothbrush, it's benefit is the fact that it's slimmer than most cheaper toothbrushes. it gives a good clean with the pulsonic technology and has decent battery life. The downside is that there are only 2 settings on the brush, a couple more would have been welcomed and i would have liked to have seen the price lowered a bit to reflect what you actually get and what this toothbrush can do. On that basis I give this 4 stars.

I have used a Braun toothbrush of one kind or another for quite a number of years and been very happy with them, but this new one works on a different principle. On my old Braun electric toothbrushes the head rotated and oscillated, on this toothbrush the head pulsates or vibrates. Is it any better? The shape of the toothbrush head seems better designed to fit the shape or your teeth, and it is larger than the old design, large enough to cover two teeth. But while the head is larger in surface area it is much slimmer in profile so it is much more comfortable to use, it feeling much smaller in the mouth. I also like the timer function, it has an overall two minute timer, but it gives a signal every 15 seconds reminding you to move on to the next quarter of your teeth.I like this new toothbrush, it seems as efficient as the old style Braun but is much more comfortable to use, and it is a little quieter too. It is also much easier to clean their being no inner workings as on the old style heads, which I am sure must be much more hygienic too.As the toothbrush should run for a week on a single 14 hour charge it is not necessary to replace the toothbrush on the charger after every use, so the charger does not need to be in the bathroom. Using the toothbrush this way should prolong the the life of the rechargeable battery too. However, as yet their does not appear to be an Interspace toothbrush head (which I need to reach awkward spaces) available to fit the toothbrush, so at the moment I am using both the old, with the Interespace head, and the new. Hopefully Braun will produce an Interpsace head for this toothbrush.

Wow! Still loving this toothbrush over a year later! This toothbrush has to be the best electric toothbrush I have used (and I have used a lot!!). It's slim, portable, feels nice to use and most of all - hold it's charge. I can go 3-4 weeks between a charge using the brush for the full 2 minute timer twice a day! This makes it a very practical brush for anyone who travels a lot.The clean from this brush is amazing, my teeth feel smooth and still feel great in the morning, there is no gum irritation for me from the brush and I find that the standard setting works well (I do recall having some irritation when first using this brush from switching from a manual (as you would expect),however this stopped within a few days). The charging station is also nice and sits well on my bathroom surface, my only comment is that the small well the toothbrush sits in to charge can get a little mucky over time, not an issue if you're willing to give it a quick clean every once in a while. When I purchased the brush it was a lot cheaper and therefore I would say it was fantastic value for money, having seen the results and how well it is standing up after a year, I would still consider purchasing for the current price, however, for the price I paid it was definitely extremely good value. The only thing I would like to see in future is maybe a carry bag to go with the brush for greater protection whilst travelling, however, my brush is still in perfect condition after being in my wash bag not in any sort of carry bag.Would definitely recommend this brush to anyone, especially those looking for something a little more slimline.

Having used many a sonic toothbrush I was always disappointed with either build quality, battery life or cleaning efficiency , I was bought this Oral B Pulsonic slim for my Birthday a couple of years ago now and my teeth have never been so good.Firstly this toothbrush is very slim and sleek design, unlike it's chunkier rivals but still manages to fit perfectly into the hand.Once charged up this toothbrush has two cleaning modes, normal and gentle, I use the normal mode and being used to sonic toothbrushes is ideal for me, for those less used to sonic I suggest you use the gentle mode and then try the normal mode to get used to it.The brush has a built in timer which I find really useful,it allows you to clean your teeth in four sections by breaking up the cleaning with short pause in cleaning program. I clean upper front - upper back - lower front and then lower rear. This brush really does leave your teeth clean and used twice a day helps no end with oral hygiene. I regularly go to my dentist for checkups but since using this brush I am only visiting once a year now for a checkup unlike the every 6 months as before. I will add to this I use mouthwash twice a day too but not straight after brushing, my dentist advised this. I floss once a week. The charge on the toothbrush lasts about one and a half weeks when used twice a day, just short of the two weeks if your going abroad on holiday, however, the charging base is small and lightweight so there's nothing stopping you taking this with you too, the charging base is also wall mountable.I have recently had to buy replacement heads for this brush

This is quality product from Oral-B. It combines quite rigid brush with high frequency vibrations. In contrary with other reviews, the less it splashes water around the better. Understanding frequency and amplitude is a key knowledge here. The relationship between frequency and amplitude it such that the higher frequency of vibration the lower can be the amplitude maintaining the same power consumption limited by the battery installed. So, the higher frequency of oscillation means LESS splashing of water during operation because of smaller displacement of brush's filaments. And this toothbrush doesn't splash at all. Higher frequency is required to remove the scale more efficiently.Mind the fact: it takes a bit to get use to the vibrations transferred from the head to the jawbone. I'm using this tb for two weeks now and already I start to see the difference. It removes stains from visible parts of teeth very well. Additionally, it penetrates inter-dental space with a lot higher efficiency than normal or oscillating (rotational) toothbrush. It reduces (although not eliminates!) need for flossing. In the begging of use one can feel some stinging discomfort on gums because this toothbrush require different technique of brushing.Bottom line:Excellent quality for money, I bought second one for my wife :)

I was impressed at just taking the Slim Sonic out of the box. It's a lovely thin and light toothbrush - not like the chunky electric one I'm used to! And it has a proper sized head - which is my preference over the smaller round heads common on electric brushes.Once I started using it I was REALLY impressed. A single charge lasts me a good week and a half. The Sonic Slim also features a really useful 'buzzing noise' every 30 seconds to remind you to clean each of the quadrants of your mouth (diagram enclosed) and to indicate when the recommended 2 mins brushing is up. I am a big fan of the sensitivity setting too - very useful for my sore post-pregnancy gums. But best of all, this brush gives a great clean feeling after use - I guess that supersoninc action must be working! The only negative thing I have to say is that only one brush head is included so I'll need to purchase another one so other family members can use it to - not much point having more then one base unit unless you and your loved ones brush your teeth at exactly the same time. It's a minor quibble really, but it would have been nice and I've bought other brushes that did include multiple heads. But all in all I can whole hear-idly recommend this. It's the best electric tooth brush I've used and I've owned several over the years.

The replacement heads to my old sonic brush were becoming very expensive, so I thought it best to replace it. I almost opted for a Phillips brush, but was unsure if I would run into the same problem - I couldn't find any replacement heads on-line.The universal head with this model is a winner.I was a little unsure at first about its cleaning ability, but once the head softened slightly after a couple of uses, I can honestly say it does a cracking job and even better than my last one.I'm used to brushing for longer than 2 mins, but whilst the brush judders at 30 second intervals, it doesn't turn off so you can carry on with your own brushing technique. It is as slim as a normal brush which is fantastic (without the usual grip contours).Despite using it for longer than the 2 mins recommended, the first charge lasted almost 2 weeks! This means I can pop it in my toothbrush beaker along with my toothpaste rather than on constant charge. That said, the charger is much smaller and neater than my old.The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is that I don't thinks it has a warning light when the charge is low and it is much noisier, or more high pitched than my old brush - it sounds like an angry wasp which took awhile to get used to!

I bought this because my electric toothbrush died, and this one was on special and therefore not much more expensive than the standard electric kind. I am actually very surprised at how much better this is than a standard electric toothbrush. My mouth feels incredibly clean after using it and (TMI warning) there are two additional signs of how good a job it does: 1) normally when I floss my teeth (which I do every night), no matter how well I've brushed, some gunge comes out from in between them. In-between my teeth now seems to be a gunge-free zone, starting from the first usage of this toothbrush and 2) my breath is noticeably better in the morning. The slim-line design is nice, and I also like the fact that it buzzes every 30 seconds, giving you a signal to move on to the next zone in your mouth. The only thing I could fault (and this is so minimal and probably personal that I can't bring myself to remove a star for it) is that I don't like the brush design. I've got used to the little rotary brush heads, and I find this brush design a little big. Maybe one day they will combine rotary action with ultrasonic cleaning, but even with the current design this product delivers fabulous results.

I've been using this toothbrush from Braun for over a year now so feel well-placed to make a few comments about it that might be helpful. It is smart looking in the bathroom with its white and metallic finish, but what really sets it apart from other electric toothbrushes I've used is the slimness of the handle and the small footprint of the charging unit (which, in common with other electric toothbrushes, plugs into a shaving point). If you've got big hands, you might find this brush almost too slim, but my average size hands find it fine and easy to manipulate into those dark corners where teeth rot without a thorough cleaning. Battery life is good - lasts well over a week, and I haven't noticed any reduction in its ability to hold a charge although I've been using it for a while. The brush will let you know with a buzz when you've been brushing for the requisite amount of time on each section of your mouth, but you can just ignore this if you don't like your toothbrush bossing you about, although it is handy to know when you've given your teeth the recommended two minutes of cleaning.Overall, this is a good electric toothbrush that so far, is standing the test of time.
