I took One-a-day Women's before trying Opti-women vitamins, and while I was pleased with the One-a-days, I still wanted to see if I could find something better. I did. Optimum Nutrition's Opti-Women vitamins are wonderful. They first captured my attention as a potential replacement because while researching, I recognized the company name. Optimum Nutrition makes some of the best and best-tasting protein powders out there. Their reputation is very good, and I hear their products recommended often. When I found out that ON makes vitamins, I knew I had to try them. The vitamins are very easy to swallow, thanks to the capsule form. They just slide right on down, and I feel like they're absorbed better because of their form.I've seen positive benefits from taking them, and I only take one a day (a half-dose). My nails grow even more quickly, and they no longer bend over, and I feel like I have more energy. I don't feel jittery though, and I haven't noticed any change in my heart rate as I would with caffeine, which is a plus. (I tried One-a-day Weight Loss vitamins before the OAD Women's, and I hated the way the caffeine made me feel.) I haven't noticed any changes (neither positive nor negative) in my mood or in my urine. I know that it probably sounds like the Opti-Womens do nothing, but in truth, the positive effects--though definitely there--are subtle. The only downside is that if I burp a few hours after taking them, I get the 'flavor' of them in my mouth. (Which is basically how they smell.)All in all, I really like these vitamins, and I know that when I run out, I'll be buying another bottle of Opti-Womens.Edited 4/21/12:Well, after a brief break from these vitamins (monetary reasons) I'm back on them, and I'm definitely noticing a difference. When my bottle of Opti-Women ran out, I switched back to the One-A-Day. Meh. Then I switched to the Target brand generic of the One-A-Days. They were awful -- my nails immediately started breaking, and they just didn't seem to do anything. Now I'm back on the Opti-Women vitamins, and compared to the crappy generic things I'd been taking, these are amazing. I *do* feel more energetic, even with a half-dose, and my nails and hair are great. (Except I now have to tweeze my eyebrows almost twice as often.) Oh, and for some reason, I'm now having discolored urine -- bright yellow, which I've heard is the B vitamins and nothing to worry about. I'm thinking that I probably had it before but just didn't notice it for whatever reason. In any case, I'm never buying another brand of vitamin again.

My doctor once told me that the only thing vitamins of any caliber can accomplish is "expensive urine." That I should instead "eat my vitamins" via healthy foods. That's fine but there's simply not enough time in the day, or room in my stomach to eat all the nutrients that we are supposed to take in every. single. day.For peace of mind, I've tried the usual drug store multivitamins and would literally barf them up. I gave up for a few years and then recently, I was buying something else on Amazon when I saw this five-star product. Read the reviews and ordered them. It's only been two weeks and perhaps it's the placebo effect of all the rave reviews, but I have been sleeping like a champ (my biggest issue). The first day I took one, I swear I felt a good and unusual energy, but again who knows? Could've been several other factors. That said, I take these after eating and have had zero stomach issues. Based on that, I plan to up to the rec'd dose of two a day.Whether or not these are actually effective, I like that they come highly recommended and are tailored specifically for women. The other day I decided to look up the more "oddball" ingredients like dong quai and Butcher's broom and chasteberry. As a premenopausal woman with horror film-esque periods who doesn't sleep well...I absolutely geeked out over the job descriptions of the herbal supplements included in this multivitamin. Does this stuff work? I don't know. Would I gladly spend a fortune buying every one of them individually, based on their claims? Absolutely. But with this multivitamin I don't have to do that or take 12 pills a day. That alone makes this a great purchase for me.If they are effective--that's wonderful. If it's just a placebo effect--I'll take whatever I can get. I want to believe (!) and these are very reasonably priced for having peace of mind that my body is (mostly likely) getting even a slight boost over what my diet can offer. I honestly look forward to taking this everyday, like a little treat for myself. As I continue to take these, I will gladly update if I really notice an all-around or even specific improvement regarding my various and many issues.

These are my 2nd favorite vitamin. My favorite is Rainbow Light Womens One. This is a good value. 2 capsules a day. It's cheaper in comparison to the RL. Rainbow Light gives me more energy.Still, this is a fabulous multi. I'm 44. I ran out of these 2 weeks ago a day after breaking up with my bf. The only reason that's relevant is that the past 2 weeks I have been extremely sluggish, tired, blah. I chalked that up to mourning Mr. Midlife Crisis..I was doing my supplement morning ritual and felt I was missing something. It dawned on me I hadn't ordered these. They come prime, btw. So I realized that yes, I've been sad but that "blah" wasn't all grieving. It was also my body not getting the nutrients from these vitamins.I'm back on them by I will say that I have PCOS. Back in February I had a period. My body knew before my brain that my bf of 4 years was checking out on me. Since February, no periods and crazy frequent intense hot flashes. I purchased cal-mag and a biodentical estrogen cream. Hot flashes have decreased significantly. Since I have taken these vitamins off and on for 2 years with no hot flashes, I'm not thinking these vitamins are part of the problem. The hot flashes decreased in the last month significantly. And the 2 weeks I did not take these vitamins recently they were minimal. I'm going to see if they ramp up now that I'm back on these.I do have energy when I take these but if the hot flashes do come back I will have to consider just paying more and going back to the RL women's one.All in all these are a great value!

The main reasons I purchased these were because of the great reviews and the more specific reviews on how people did not get or feel sick off of these. I quit taking vitamins because I tried Targets Up & Up Brand first... I'd puke almost 30 min after taking them every time... at first I thought it was my other medications, but then I stopped taking those and .. same thing.. so I pinned it down to my vitamins. The reviews did not lie! No nausea (thank you!!) and I do believe these are the first vitamins I have taken that I can tell it positively effects me on a day to day basis. Before I would take my vitamins and then just leave it at that, never even knew if they did anything, could never tell a difference, but during my current beginning trial of using these I've been able to tell these give me more energy throughout the day and I think they make me generally feel better overall. Which would make sense since I know I was lacking a lot of the nutrients my body needs before starting to take these and these offer much more than the others I tried in the past did.I do only take it once a day. I am hesitant to take two a day because I did read people discussing the points of taking these with birth control and how it could make your birth control not work as well... I wish I could get some more PROFESSIONAL insight on this... but...I think I'll start taking them twice a day starting next week to see if I can tell the difference. I'll keep you guys posted!

I love these vitamins. I am seeing reviews where people are having issues with them and concerned about the herbs that are included in them. These vitamins are made by a company that deal solely with supplements that promote weight training and bodybuilding. This supplement can be used by a regular person who do not have a desire to weight train as I took it because of wanting a vitamin that contained everything I needed initially and it was in one decent size pill that I didn't have to cut in half. This company also makes a version for men called Opti-Men that also have an ingredient list that would be for someone who is into weight training. With that said, I am a weight lifter and love how it works with my body. Some have spoken about using it for various reasons such as low energy. You would do well to find a simple B-Complex vitamin or a regular daily vitamin. However, if you need a pill that controls hormones, cortisol levels and give you the vitamins and minerals that you need in good amounts, this is the pill for you. Ensure you take it on a well fed stomach and drink at least 8 ounces with it. This is a good multi-vitamin with the proper intended use. I have been using it for 5 years and will never buy a different multi-vitamin. I hope this little explanation helps those who have had trouble with it to give it a try again with some of the tips provided.

For over a month, I've been taking just one capsule every morning instead of the recommended two. I have noticed an increased energy and a more "awake feeling" that lasts consistently throughout the work day and I take it with breakfast for better absorption. I have noticed that it keeps me too alert for bed if I take it in the afternoon. Another reviewer mentioned that the minerals are chelated but from the bottle label, I only see that Iron is marked as being chelated.Here are the supplement facts listed on the bottle:Biotin 250mcg 83%Calcium 150mg 15%Chromium 120mcg 100%Copper 2mg 100%Folic Acid 600mcg 150%Iodine 200mcg 133%Iron 18mg 100%Magnesium 75mg 19%Manganese 5mg 250%Molybdenum 70mcg93%Niacin 20mg 100%Pantothenic Acid 20mg 200%Riboflavin 20mg 1176%Selenium 70mcg 100%Thiamin 20mg 1333%Vitamin A 5,000IU 100%Vitamin B6 20mg 1000%Vitamin B12 100mcg 1667%Vitamin C 250mg 417%Vitamin D 600IU 150%Vitamin E 100IU 333%Vitamin K 80mcg 100%Zinc 15mg 100%Herbs:Alpha-Carotene 93.5mcgAlpha Lipoic Acid 20mgButchers Broom, powdered 15mgChasteberry 50mgCitrus Bioflavonoids 10mgCryptoxanthin 22.8mcgDeodorized Garlic 10mgDong Quai 80mgGarcinia Extract 50mgGrape Seed Extract 10mgHorse Chestnut Extract 25mgLutein 250 mcgLycopene 250mcgOstivone 10mgSoy Isoflavones 2mgUva Ursi 50mgZeaxanthin 18.7mcg

I have honestly have been taking opti nutrition supplements for years now, and trust no other brand more than i trust them. The quality of all their supplements are second to none, in price, taste and potency. I would highly recommend taking any of their products, but with the vitamins i recommend taking only one pill to start, because generally this is more than your body can process. If you take multiple pills at once you will just be flushing them down the toilet, "literally". One pill has well over 100% of most vitamins as it is, so if you factor in all those vitamins you get from normal consumption you'll be just right. Be prepared though, for those who dont drink a lot of water, you will see a drastic increase in the brightness of your pee, it seriously will be "neon" yellow. I bought this opti women for my mom (age 55) because she says most other multivitamins upset her stomach, but as it turns out opti delivers again and she can stomach these. So if your concerned about having weak a stomach, i recommend giving this a try.Other products from opti nutrition i recommend:-100% Whey Gold Standard- BCAA's (the capsules, not the tabs)( The tabs look like a depository and super hard to swallow.) ( Also dont order the BCAA's if your already taking protein)- Casein Whey (for bedtime protein)

I have been taking multi-vitamins like One-a-Day Women's for many years (typically ones that do not include herbal supplements). I decided to go with this one as it had a great price on Amazon and had some good reviews. As others have said, it definitely gives me an extra boost of energy/alertness--I am assuming this comes from all the extra vitamins and herbs included in this capsule, and my body is reacting to them accordingly. I took one last night with dinner and it kept me awake at bedtime, so I would suggest taking it earlier in the day. I just took one at lunch and I am currently not experiencing "that 2:30 feeling" that I usually feel during the work day, which is nice.It does make me feel a bit different (not good, not bad, just different...), so for now I am going to stick with only taking one per day (the bottle suggests two), but perhaps for more active individuals, two may be better. The capsules are large (about the same size as a One-a-Day vitamin), but since they are capsules and not tablets, they are very easy to swallow. No more choking vitamins down!I am going to do a little reading up on the interactions chasteberry has with birth control. I am not sure if the amount in these capsules is enough to interfere, but if it is, I will likely discontinue using it.

I am someone who suffers from chronic Retinal Migraines. To put it simply, I my vision becomes limited or I become somewhat blind and then I get hit with one hellofa migraine. What am I trying to say? When I take this product consistently, I do not get migraines. Why is that? Likely because this product offers something that other multivites don't.... Magnesium and B-Vitamins, and a lot of it too. Whether it's because of those specific vitamins that I never had a migraine or by sheer coincidence, I've noticed that since my not taking of this product I've been plagued (constantly) by migraines. Don't get me wrong. I've been taking a multivitamin, but I've noticed that it's quality cannot compare to Opti-Women and I completely regret the fact that I discontinued use of this because it helped me feel better in the long run (mentally and physically) and it's a definite quality product. As far as my periods go, they've never been regular (and were not regulated whilst on this product as a result of my using this product) nor were they made to last longer. My average period is three to four days, and I usually get it once every two months. This was from regular use, seven days a week for 365 days with six days of regular exercise, two hours a week, for 10 months.

I had read an article in nutrition journal about how vitamins taken in pill form are not as bio-available as ingesting the vitamins from food or other natural sources. In other words, you excrete most of the vitamins and don't absorb them into your system in the same you do with foods rich in vitamins. In any case, I stopped taking these for about a month and tried to eat more bio-available foods. That was a huge mistake. While I still think the information on the bio-availability of food is important and one should try to eat a diverse diet of vitamin and mineral rich foods, I do also think that supplementing with vitamins can be extremely helpful. There must have been a vitamin or mineral that I was missing from my diet because less than a month after I stopped taking my multi-vitamins, I got bronchitis. It was exacerbated by other factors but I firmly believe that by not taking my vitamins any longer, I opened my immune system up to infection. I have since reordered these vitamins and have begun taking them again. I think that they help round out any balanced healthy diet. I've been taking these for over year and that was the only time I got sick despite high stress levels and lack of sleep.

got these because my boyfriend ordered opti-men, actually. read the reviews for that and then saw that they had one for women as well. with the amazing reviews, i have to admit i was a bit skeptical. i've always been interested in the placebo effect and how your mental attitude towards these kinds of things may actually be behind the results rather than the chemical makeup of the product, etc. i eat pretty well but i do find myself looking for a little energy burst a few times a day. i manage a restaurant, which means free espresso whenever i want it--before i started taking these vitamins i'd say i was drinking 8 shots of espresso a day--mostly in cappuccino form. now i have one coffee drink a day.wasn't even a conscious decision, i just haven't felt the desire or need for more.definitely have noticed my nails and hair are growing faster (only been taking them for a week and a half--we're talking shaving my legs and clipping my toenails more frequently). my boyfriend noticed that i'm not as cranky after work as well, and i feel like i'm in a good mood all the time. really happy with these and will continue to take them!

I am excited too see how these will work for me. I was attracted to these for the price and also because there are specific herbs that are great for women like chasteberry and Dong Quai which I was trying to implement in my supplemental regimen. This made it easier for me rather than trying to incorporate herbal teas everyday. I'm hoping this will balance my hormones a little bit as those herbs are specifically good for that. In addition to those specific herbs great for women, there are other herbs in this that are great for blood/circulation and overall health. I have to say that the increase in energy and clear mind I experienced since my first dosage is real.I was skeptical when reading the other reviews but I am a believer now and will try these for the next six months to see how it goes. Initially I was a little hesitant because I wanted vitamins that we're entirely food-based but those tend to be quite a bit more expensive. At the very least I think even absorbing some of these vitamins and minerals along with the awesome herbs added, it will be a decent addition two my daily regimen.

I have been using this multivitamin for years now and I love the energy I get from them, I have never had a problem or side effects with these vitamins until recently... I am guessing from my years of constant use that the high in vitamin c Count Finally got to me. I was struggling with what I had thought was bladder infections but after 10 months of frustrating doctors and urologist appointments, no one could figure out what the problem was, there was no signs of infection, ever. I did not think for a second it was my supplements since I had been taking them religiously for 3 years with no problems. A friend had mentioned to me that it could be the supplements that I was taking..so I stopped taking the multivitamin, just to see. Only 3 days after discontinuing use of the vitamins I found relief, 10 months of frustration gone within 3 days. These vitamins ARE very, very good!!! And I do highly recommend them. But, if you do experience bladder or urethra pain try discontinuing to see if it may be the vitamins.. that is all :)

So far so good I think I noticed very little headaches but those are the days I drunk less water. I believe it’s clearing up my skin which is cool because it’s only been like 3-4 days. Also it changed the color of my pee lol to like really vibrant yellowish green. I drink about a gallon of water everyday sometimes a little more sometimes a little less. I have PCOS and I just got off the pill. . . I will update on how it affects me good or badSo I wrote this about a week ago but I forgot to post that and I actually stopped taking the pills because I started taking a different pill and I want to see if that pill was going to do something for me or whatever I am so I actually stopped taking itbecause I don’t want to take a bunch of different bills at one time but during the time that I was taking it I did have a lot more energy and I am and I seem to be fine I seem to help but I’m not entirely sure and I know I’ll be taking it again towards the beginning of the month will be the beginning of the new year 2018
