This was bought as a gift and is an excellent monocular. It will be used for general use (birding etc), but specifically for watching cricket. Unlike most monoculars, which involve a 'twisting' style of focus, the focus is a separate knob and is therefore optimised for one handed operation. What this means in real terms is that you have a free hand for whatever else you want to do....in the case of cricket that will be holding a suitable chilled beverage!Objective lens is large for a monocular offering good light capture and bright images; the optics are nice and clear with no notable blurring at the edges of the image - it is no gold standard,

I would have given it 5 stars had the lens protect cap been secured to the body of the scope; as it is it slips off and will probably lose it's holding capacity in a short period of time. Another annoyance was the lack of specific instructions for a Monocular; instead included were instructions for binoculars.

Moved up from a 10 x 25 monocular and the brightness of the image is a huge improvement. Not sure a tripod is required, and one-handed use is fine - not a huge step up from 10x magnification, but brightness and clarity of image is best feature.
