I bought this vaccum for a specific reason, i bought it for the wet functionality. We have in the past used Vax which was just awful (appreciate it probably was an older product and that newer models may have provided better results) and we have used Bissell. The Bissell in my opinion was better, but i didnt like the idea of storing some large upright standing vaccum for the odd occasion, and have a traditional dry vaccum. We originally looked at the Bissell SpotClean Pro, but again the downside is that it is specifically a wet vaccum only, and at £149.99 there isnt that much price difference between The Bissell and Henry George but you also gain the dry function. Now i have a bit of a hoover/vaccum obsession. In my laymans thinking way,a hoover should by design be able to hoover anything that you want it to hoover up (within reason, water being the obvious product that cannot be generally hoovered up) and over the past few years of home ownership (6 years) we have had 2 Vax's and 3 Dysons. 2of the Dysons are still operational and in the house, but dont get used. 1 is the cinetic big ball, and its way too cumbersome and heavy, and oddly even with suction reduction, doesnt hoover our carpets, its impossible. And the other is a V6 Animal cordless hoover which after 3 minute of hoovering needs to be emptied, or over a year of use the battery gives up and a replacement needed.I was advised by a friend to buy a Henry because A. They have fantastic suction B. It hoovers up everything from dirt and dog hair, to rubble and plaster, and C. they are cheap and are easy to get spare parts for and will generally last years. I always turned my nose up at the Henry range, thinking a cheap vaccum that has a power cord couldnt be better than a £300 dyson cordless hoover. I took the plunge and bought a Henry Hoover to help with some rubble and plaster dust from a bathroom refit we were doing. I was amazed. They are fantastic. They are by my own admission a no frills plastic tub hoover with a small motor, a smiley face and some attachements with a Hepaflo Bag. But my god is it useful, and for the price, no complaints. To this day i have hoovered anything i wanted, Sawdust, Plaster, Rubble, Dirt, Dust etc and it never gets blocked. When the suction gets a bit weak (your bag is full) change the bag and bang, full power again.By this experience i decided to get another Henry product. This is where the George came in. With the lockdown and issues happening globally around the virus that prevents our normality, we have cancelled our travel plans, and as most people are doing, we decided to focus on making our home look and feel a little less tired. Painting, decorating and making our garden resemble something off of Love Island (the wifes idea). And i decided i wanted something that would clean our cars, and carpets and provide us with good clean results and something i knew would last for further occasions in the future. So we bought the George.I once again was not disappointed. Powerful, more so than our dry hoover, comes with all the necessary well designed and thought out attachements for all applications.I finished my carpet stairs and our sons bedroom with the wet function, and to my surprise was amazed with how much dirt it collects. It simply just works, No frills, No over complications and easy instructions.I havent tried the dry use function of it yet, however if my little 620W Henry impresses me, i cant see how the 1060W George will not do the same.My only critisim, and it is minor. But with a Henry, you can tidy the cable away within the motor housing, it simply hand turn winds back in. But with the George the cable is all loose, and there is a fair amount of it.There is a hook on the back for you to hang a looped cable over, but this to me just seems a little messy and i would have preferred Numatic to have built this with two hooks so you could wrap around both for a tidy way of securing your cable to the machine. As it happens we have used Reusable cable ties to limit how much cable is being used for easier tidying away.Aside from this, i love it, such a great tool for wet and dry use, and in my experience of the wet use, it couldn't be easier and makes carpets feel and smell fresher. As we already have a henry for the house, this will now be a Vaccum for the car and wet use on anything else. There are plenty of useful Youtube videos online showing the applications of this Vaccum, and i honestly thing it was worth the price we paid.9/10 - i would rate higher, but i dont like the cable design.

*NOTE:Please do not be put off by my review, the ONLY fault, and this is in my own case, is the rubber hose that supplies water to the sprayer.Take a look at other customers on here and you'll see most are happy. So this obviously isn't a widespread problem.Just my rotten luck as usual!I want to give this a 5 star rating, it genuinely deserves it, except for the rubber water supply hose in my case.REVIEW:It was delivered on the 28th of July, and that evening i used it for a few (maybe four) hours to clean two sections of carpet, one in the hallway (around 14ft long by 5ft wide hallway) and also in a mainroom, but only got part of that done when the rubber hose split at the trigger. However, there are two problems, and both are related to the rubber water supply hose.1) The rubber water hose is too short to connect up if you use all the metal hoover tubes (3 of them). It clearly shows in the instructions, a woman using the washer with all three of the metal tubes. In my case, the hose would not stay attached at the bottom where the sprayer is, as it kept popping off.I almost got hit in the eye with the hose when i was first trying to connect it up as it popped off and lashed toward my face, but it luckily only caught me on the cheekbone!I thought running it through with warm water and giving it a bit of a stretch that it would loosen and be able to meet the connection and stay connected, but this has not happened, despite even trying to stretch the hose in a basin of warm water, then i tried again hot water. No luck, or better put, just my luck.I'm 6ft tall, and without that third section of the metal tube in place, my back took a beating when scrubbing the carpet with the water brush. It worked very well anyway, so I'm happy with the end result, despite the annoying backpain i got from using it to do the cleaning.I get a feeling there's going to be some trick to getting the rubber water hose to connect up while using all three of the metal hoover tubes, even though there shouldn't be some trick to get it to connect. It should just connect up with a bit of slack left over.2) The fixing for the rubber water hose where the trigger is, must have something of an edge, as the rubber water hose has developed a split, and water now squirts from there.I suspect some plumbers tape will be able to fix this, but still, that it happened after doing the hallway carpet and then part of the main room carpet is quite sad. I can't even recall touching this section of the rubber hose, not even when attaching the trigger to the metal tubing. The plumbers tape as a solution would only be a temp fixer, since the hose would simply continue to tear along the split due to the pressure of the water. So it would need replacing eventually.- As to the function and build quality of the machine, it's as you'd expect for the type of machine it is. It just works, there is a kind of magic to it even. I kept expecting it to explode or short the main fuse box, but it just worked. Both Dry and Wet hoover modes are great.TO THE MANUFACTURER:I see a design flaw already with the wet hose. The simple fact the rubber water hose is taped onto the larger intake hose.It would have been easier to simply supply wide and thick elastic bands put over the thicker water intake hose to feed the rubber water supply hose through, which would also allow customers to more easily replace the rubber water hose if/when it gets damaged. As it is now, it looks like I'd have to return that whole part, and as we know, more weight and bulk means larger parcel size and higher postage costs.A larger trigger for us men who have large hands would be nice too.In summery, the machine is great, it works wonders in wet mode, and does the job you've come to expect from this brand when it comes to dry hoovering. I can't fault it there.

I initially purchased this machine just for shampooing after the pump on my Vax 6131 gave up after just 3 uses. I was so impressed by it's performance, that this is now my daily vacuum.Dry:As a dry vacuum, the performance is excellent. Even with the standard straight suction floorhead, George picks up pet hair and dirt with ease. It can be somewhat difficult to use, as the suction is so strong, but with the addition of the optional air-driven turbo brush, George gives the same excellent results but is much easier to use. On bare floors, fluff, pet hair and other such bits are picked up with ease and the floorhead does not scratch hard wood floors. The vacuum IS heavy, so vacuuming stairs can be difficult. This would be not a problem if you have a split level staircase, but if you don't, an optional stair extension hose is available directly from Numatic which makes life easier. The range of tools offered make above floor cleaning so easy, and cleaning the car out is a doddle. The bags are enormous and don't need replacing often. They are cheap enough to buy (£4.99 for 10) and much more hygenic to empty than a lot of bagless machines on the market. Also, because there are no bagless cyclones or filters to clog, you can vacuum up just about anything from household dust, dirt and pet hair, to brick dust, small nails, wood shavings and DIY mess.Wet:The most obvious and biggest advantage of George over it's rivals is that Numatic provide 2 hoses - 1 for wet and 1 for dry cleaning. This makes life SO much easier in that you don't have to wait for the hose to dry before dry vacuuming again - brilliant if you have pets or kids and need to vacuum often. Also, the water pump tube is actually attached inside the wet hose, so there are no smaller hoses to get in the way of having to rinse out afterwards. Performance as an spray & extraction machine is excellent. The pump is powerful and dislodges all the deep down grit and grease from your carpet. The suction is strong enough to capture all that and restore the carpet pile. George can also be used for sucking up spills, floods and unblocking drains.Reliability is obvious. Numatic have been known for years as a reliable commercial brand - Henry are one of Europe's biggest sellers and they are now proving they can work just as hard in the home. There is very little to go wrong with this machine - there are no bells and whistles and pointless features. George is just a simple, high performing machine.Overall, I am so pleased with this machine. As a dry, it picks up all the dirty and pet hair with ease and as a wet cleaner, it restores the carpet pile, removes stains and keeps the carpets looking new.

Good old george, bought to replace a vax uprightcarpet washing which was not that great. It arrived with a valet pack, you get two hoses,a short one and a long one brush heads one forlaminate, one for carpet, brush nozzles, crevicetools, small and large spray heads, i am more thanfamiliar with these machines as i used to work inthe repair industry and when the motors got convertedto the new double pole lamb motors, i prob done hundredsif not thousands of units over 7 years, so i pretty muchknow these inside out, the aerosol factory uses the nextmodel up to suck iron filings up from the machinery, its just switched on and attached to the punch pressthrough its adapter and left running all week,i only eversaw that aluminum dust filled machine in twice, so theyare pretty robust, the valeting firms still use numaticsthat are 10 years old or more and they run day after dayafter day, they last if they are looked after, for stairs thehose will travel a 13 step staircase, for motor vehicles, washing seats and carpets they excel, the pump spraysthe water out evenly and the pressure is constant, somebrands rely on suction to draw water, which on edges orcorners where this can be difficult you have a definedborder which stands out as missed. From experience its people who kill these machines. You can not use any detergent in them that foams. The ball valve will not work as foam does not havethe density of water and it will draw water through themotor which is not good, even if it survives it, it encouragesrust to build up on the fan casing and bearings whichshortens its life. You can buy 5 litres of extraction shampoo from a localchemical supplier pretty cheap, supermarkets are prettypricey on 1 litre bottles, shop about online and 5 litreslasts years, if its a powerful concentrate. You can get away with cheap all purpose cleaners, pine disinfectant, zoflora (which leaves a nice smell)or even a mixture of all purpose and a small drop of zofloraas long as you sure it wont stain what ever you usingit on, but things like fairy liquid are a big no no, notunless you want to turn it into a bubble machine.Brilliant machines, but you got to be adaptable, its notan upright and not all cleaning tasks can be donestanding up and some simple modificationsto change things about is required fromtime to time and if you dont like the expense of bagsthere is a zip and empty reuseable bag which iswashable as wellNumatic Henry George Edward Cleaners

This is a really terrific vacuum cleaner, especially if you use a turbobrush on carpets ( Hint, the Vax turbobrush Vax Genuine Quick-Clean Premium TurboBrush 32mm is a better tool and easier to clean out than The Numatic Airobrush ) it has oodles more suction than a Dyson Animal and is far better made . Also it is an extremely good tool for washing tiled floors , cleaning water up after a flood etc. but as a carpet cleaner....hmm, well it was nothing special really. I was less than impressed. The problem seemed to be that silly plastic fish tail extractor thingy that is supposed to suck up the dirty water, you end up spraying say a couple of litres of water/cleaning solution onto your carpet and only getting half a litre of water sucked back into the dirty water tank, leaving the carpet wet and only moderately clean. As I said before the machine itself has loads of suction power but that fish-tail is the weakest link, it does not adhere to the carpet at all . Then I had a sort of a brainwave. Many moons ago I used to use a Vax wet and dry vac. (I still have it, but it is semi-retired now in the garage I use it as a workshop vac) and I remembered that the carpet cleaning head supplied with that seemed to work very well indeed Vax 3-in-1 Vacuum Cleaner Large Multi Function Wash Head I found that and after a bit of 'fiddling and diddling' ( i.e. adapting the water supply pipe to fit the Vax head inlet nipple, The head itself is standard 32mm fitting so that was not a problem) fitted that to Mr. George. WOW what a huge difference that makes. Now it makes a really beautiful job of our carpets, in fact I can honestly say it works better on George than it did when originally fitted to the Vax. That head clings to the carpet pile as you pull it backwards, thus drawing all the water and dirt out, put it this way, I am emptying the dirty water tank far more often than when I was using that 'as much use as a chocolate teapot fish tail' and after a quick vacuuming afterwards the carpets look like new again. So in a nutshell, 5 stars , albeit after a slight modification.Edit. Now I use one of these on it for carpet shampooing, A Vax 'Spinscrub' head Vax Genuine Multi-Function SpinScrub Premium Wash Head That is even better. George certainly has plenty of 'oomph' to spin those brushes around.

Now i will just start by clearing something up. In no way was i influenced by numatic to review this product and the fact that my car is sign written with "i love numatic" is pure coincidence, and my kids James, Henry and Charles and of course Hetty my lovely wife can also tell you that it has not affected them at all.Ok to the review. The adoption of George went smoothly, a knock on the door and the charming delivery girl uttered in almost english "sign ere mate" I could see those dark black eyes on the adoption box staring at me and the day had finally arrived. So that i didnt startle him, i unpacked George in semi darkness, i have used this approach on many occasions, however since the last incident with a chainsaw i named "fred" i have allowed for slightly more light and can count on my remaining fingers how successful this has been.George was packed to perfection, his tools tucked away like "the ladyboys" of bangkok with no chance of unwanted movement thus preventing exposure to damage.I lifted that little fella from his box and those big dark eyes looked back at me lovingly as if to say "thanks for purchasing me".George came with an array of tools that would put a naturist sauna to shame, different shapes, sizes and even something to get into those hard to reach crevices!!!!Today was Georges first outing into the world of cleaning. i decided to start small, a car mat.George did not hesitate and within moments was sucking away all the DNA deposits off the mats, dried blood, bone and just a hint of hair. I then changed him into the wash mode and tralaaaaaaaa he took away any chance of being caught...oops sorry.... stains returning. He left the mats nearly dry and was ready for more!!!!I then decided not to rush him and did the bottom of the stairs....i thought "lets take it easy George one step at a time"....hahahaha.Again he peformed well and left them cleaner than a husbands internet search history when the wife knocks on the door of the office. (private browsing cmon guys). So in conclusion George is settling in well, he fits into the family and he is the perfectionist when it comes to household cleaning. Now i am just popping out to pay a cheque in from an ermmmm acquaintance....Mr Norman Umatic lovely man so generous.enjoy the adoption process.j

I've had to tell my husband today I'm starting an affair: there's now three of us in our marriage as I've met George. Since my VAX died 10yrs ago I've made numerous rants on Facebook about !$%^! vacuum cleaners and how they have driven me to a state where my husband and the dogs used to find shelter and I'd be reduced to a stressed, tearful state. Well no more! I've met George: today we've done it in the bedroom, we've done it behind the sofa, we've even done it on the ceiling. Vacuuming is a therapeutic and calming pursuit again, and as I watch dirt disappear with ease his little smiling face is there saying "I know, I'm good aren't I ...?".And he is: no more pushing the vacuum away and then vacuuming the power lead on the return due to poor design; no more unplugging/plugging every five mins, I do the whole house from one socket; no more pushing a barrel-cleaner head away from you to have the barrel smash you in the back of the legs. Now, when the dogs and hubby come back from walking and deposit half a beach of gravel on the floor, George just deals with it ...AND, I then just put him away: no more spending as long as I did vacuuming have to clean/change !$#%^! filters! If his 3m hose isn't long enough for you, you can upgrade to a 4m and do it on the stairs all in one go! AND he, Henry, Hetty, and Charles, etc, are all made in Britain! So after 10yrs of hell: Mr Dyson you can take your very expensive cyclones, along with Electrolux and Hoover and stick them all where the sun don't shine. George is a wet/dry cleaner and the dry vacuum is basically 'Henry' (so maybe there's now four of us in the marriage!). So if you just wanted a dry vacuum I can highly, highly recommend a Henry. For those reading this already in a relationship with Henry (or Hetty) go and pat their little smiley faces because you have no idea of the hell that exists outside of Numatic World! Hint/tip: Buy the air-brush head with the bristle bar ..'cos you're worth it' :o) xxx

I have used a Numatic Henry for some years and it is the best vacuum cleaner I have ever had. When my old carpet steamer expired and I decided to move on to a carpet cleaner, whilst I read reviews of other products, it had to be a Numatic George. You get a lot of kit for your money, but the assembly is well explained and there is an understandable logic to why all the bits connect the way they do. My first carpet cleaned was a bit of a voyage of exploration, but when I did another a week or so later, I had remembered the set up correctly (no mean feat for me).As George will work on an industrial scale, you do need to make room to work in. It seems obvious that cleaning a carpet will involve moving furniture, but a little forethought as to how you and George will best occupy the space is worthwhile. Depending on room location, it may be easier to fill and assemble George in situ as the full load could be a heavy lift for some people.I have cleaned four carpets now, and am impressed by the results. I live in a bungalow, so a move between just about any room involves the hall, and that has refreshed nicely. The main bedroom and the bathroom have lost the "traffic" marks of the regular paths across them. After cleaning, you need to allow some airing time, but the system is so efficient at spraying water in and sucking it out again, there is no "sogginess", even if you go over a bit a couple of times.I was pleasantly surprised by the detergent supplied, as it is just a detergent, no foam, no lingering ersatz perfume that smells like nothing you have ever smelled before. You see Numatic products being used in some serious places, so I knew this had to be good. I was ready to be impressed and I was. Can I finish without mentioning the added bonus of George's grin to cheer you up as you work? Of course not.

I couldn't bring myself to mark it down for the one minor gripe that I have with it; the lead does not retract inside the machine. That's it!I bought this machine with my own money for use at home because I have a team of cleaners that use other machine in this series day in and day out with excellent results. Believe me when I tell you that those machines have survived shocking treatment by each user and all bear scars to prove it, but they still work. This vacuum has the same solid build and fantastically powerful suction. My son can't use it on carpet without opening collar to let some air in. I accidentally used it near some socks that I had just bought (don't do that!)and had to take the bag out of the machine to get them back out. So, we can say that it's powerful enough to suck all but the colour out of a carpet in the dry mode. In the extract mode it's even better, the liquid is sprayed into the carpet or onto the floor under pressure, unlike lesser brands, and the liquid pulled out is reassuringly filthy. Plenty of accessories are included and spares are readily available. One tip though, buy an additional cloth filter and change it at the same time as the bag (the white HEPA ones are best) and then the first job is to thoroughly vacuum the old one ready to be exchanged back the next time and alternate between the two. £200 or so is the correct price to pay, how some of these are being offered for well over £700 I do not know, it's good, but not THAT good!I have been through loads of Numatic cleaners and each and every one has performed faultlessly. They all retired after years of very hard use and abuse and have been tremendous value for money. In a domestic setting I really don't expect to have to replace it for a very long time.

Years ago I bought a Hetty vacuum cleaner. It vacuumed well and was easy to use, but I was bewitched by a seemingly all singing and dancing upright by a well known brand. I sold Hetty and regretted it. I’ve bought carpet shampoo machines too; not impressed by any including the top brands.I wanted a machine that would serve as a vacuum cleaner for regular round the house use, plus a carpet shampooer as I want to freshen my carpets regularly and I was hoping for a machine rugged enough to clear up things like a dusty garage floor.George does it all. Seriously, it tackles each of these different tasks with ease. The design has changed little, but I find this model the easiest to use in terms of changing and hoses and switching between functions. The capacity is endless, whether it’s dust and day to day carpet cleaning or more heavy duty shampooing. The suction is incredible and following recent water damage to a fitted carpet, this machine was outstanding at sucking up the moisture in a waterlogged fitted carpet. The shampoo tank which holds the clean shampoo water is separate to the dirty water tank. There’s a hose for wet jobs and a separate hose for dry. Comes with a bottle of shampoo which is generous enough to clean all the carpets in my home more than once. Plus there are 4 cylinder bags for day to day dust collection. Easy to fit, huge capacity and when full just remove and dispose of...they can be emptied and reused if you wish. Good for removing pet hairs a long hose for nooks and crannies and I’m even more pleased that the cleaner is UK made. Easy to store as it’s compact. Quality item, worth every penny as it will give years of service. Very highly recommended

When I first used the George GVE I nearly left it a three star review, however the more I used it the more I realised how invaluable it is.Firstly, the suction is absolutely incredible, in fact it is too good for everyday carpet vacuuming. The incredible suction makes it hard work to move the tools back and forth on the carpet, therefore it is bit impracticable at times. It WILL clean as good as any other or better than any other cleaner though.Using my George, I cleaned an old bed sheet that was fit for the bin, it had lots of bobbles on it and looked really old. I put it on a bed and sucked of every ground in bobble, and the sheet looks like new and lives on.We had a flood at home which my wife kind of mopped up,but she told me two days later when the room was beginning to stink. I used George and sucked out a few litres of water! Once the carpet dried thoroughly (another couple of days) the stink went away. The bath and kitchen sink were very slow in draining. Forget a plunger... I used George to suck out loads of bits of gunk. The result... freely flowing sink and bath drainage.I brought a grotty rug back to a respectable life by using George in the carpet shampooing and wet vac mode. It's hard work though once you get a big attachment on the end. The smaller carpet cleaning attachments are much more manageable. For large areas of carpet cleaning, then perhaps a more professional upright cleaner with a moving beater bar might be easier. Or for general carpet vacuuming then the Henry I think is more practical. If you want something for emergencies, and to suck up literally anything you throw at it, then go for George!

I am very satisfied with product and I would recommend it to everyone. Delivered to Ireland earlier than it should take. Five star.It does what is said and even more. Packed in large box with cartoon protection, very safe to travel. Includes all what is mentioned and shampoo as well. It comes with four bags. It's made of plastic, but very good quality. Cable and hoses lengths are great. Easy to assemble, to use and to clean. Sound is not to loud if you ask me.My floors are made of mixed materials wood, tiles, carpets, and I have a dog. Hoovering is just perfect, it collects everything and there are small extensions for different tasks as edges, dust from furniture and I also hoover my dog :)(I think that only my dog likes to hoovering him).Wet cleaner: I cleaned tiles, all bathroom including side tiled walls, bath, shower tube, carpets of different material, half leather inside car... I was wondering how much dirt I had around especially in carpets and on the car seats. If you are out of water you will hear different sound and as well if you sucked too much water. Don't worry about leaking cause it's very good made. Plastic extensions are very good especially because you can see dirt water through it, so you can know when to stop.It will stay a little wet, but not too much.It sucks water easily.Only few bad sides, but nothing to take serious. It will not clean very old dirt as easy as the other dirt, and some stains you cannot clean with anything. You will need a little more space for George. Wet cleaning on some edges is really demanding. All in all, I like it very much. There is pics before and after...

I remember seeing George as a child stowed away in some TV shop. It wasn't until years later when I didn't want to fork an extortionate amount of cash renting a deep cleaner that I would end up reunited with good old George! Is George worth it? I would say he starts paying for himself rather fast if you don't mind switching between dry, wet and shampoo mode which can take a short while; I won't lie. But if you dry vacuum floors, carpets and upholstery very quickly but only shampoo surfaces on occasion then this is not a problem at all. It only becomes a pain if you tend to spill things a lot and want a vacuum to deal with the mess. I have heard the wet capabilities are superior to the Orange Vax but as I have no experience I can't back up that claim. The dude is well put together, the instructions are well presented if a tiny bit confusing in some sections; the accessories are intuitive, cleverly yet simply designed. The only thing that annoyed me was that Henry Hoover's cord rewind wasn't mobilized in George.I haven't owned him long enough to comment on his long-term reliability (loss of suction etc.) but the warranty is 2 years and Numatic has a brilliant reputation. And he is so damn cute. If you have had a rubbish day, George's big grin cheers you up - I'm sure studies can back up the dopamine boosting effects of smiling! My advice - go to youtube and watch the 45minute demonstration video to make up your mind. Final word: go George!

The Numatic George is one of the most versatile machines you could ever own for your home.First of all there is the standard vacuum function, this is pretty much the same as a Henry but with a larger capacity, the suction is very good and combined with a turbo head will give exceptional results on carpets with pets in the household. The use of Hepa flo bags will bring it up to full Hepa spec like those gimmicky bagless types, but cleaner for those with allergies. The carpet shampoo function of this unit is excellent, I actually own the professional CT470 version of this which is the shampoo only professional machine, and use it frequently for my clients carpets in my cleaning business. When used with a good quality chemical (prochem extraction pro) great results can be achieved, better so than the orange vax units (which my folks own) which are lesser powered. The shampoo accessories are very nice and spray control is given by a handy trigger valve, unlike the orange vax (sorry but i bet you're looking at that unit too) the system seems to be purposely built and doesn't have slack solution hose when using the upholstery attachment.Overall this is a great quality unit for the home from a respected and well recognised brand and is British built warrantied for 2 years. Honestly im not a salesman for Numatic but this unit really is best in class and is pretty much a great professional product which will fill your every day cleaning needs.

I have had this machine now for 16 years. The only thing that broke was the hose. which was my falt because I kept pulling the machine by the hose when I needed to move it from one spot to another. Repacement was easy I found a supplyer in Salford, Horley and it was not expensive. they also sell the bags and shampoos to.All I can say is this machine is great and powerfull and reliable. It's great for carpets and hard floors. The carpet cleaner is great too, and I used it for a while. But the carpet shampoos that are out on the market are not very good unless you are using the industrial shampoos which are quite expensive. To be honest it depends on how often you need your carpets cleaned.Sometimes there are discounted carpet cleaning companies who will clean carpets quite cheaply and deflee your house as well. I would suggest this method if this is what you need.If you do decide not to use the dry cleaning side of this machine then having to carry it up the stairs is very difficult because it's quite heavy just for normal vaccuming use. A smaller machine would be more suitable. I am in the process of looking for a new vaccume cleaner for my carpets and hard floors to keep upstairs. Because having to lift this up stairs is difficult.I am thinking of getting the upgraded version of Henry the HVR200-22 Hi/Lo switch version. I'll see.
