After I tried several shoes, I really liked the NW Spider 2 right off the bat: it's light and well ventilated, reinforced front and side to protect it from potential collision partners in the terrain, and also runs great. It turns out relatively large, for example. I have a generous sense of space in a 42, while I usually buy size 42.5 or 43. Since I would like to wear the shoe for cycling but rather fitting, I would have to tie it a bit tighter in the forefoot, through the sturdy toe cap he does not cling to my feet. But unfortunately this is exactly what makes the lacing system thwarted. Anyone who has ever had contact with Speedlace, Boa and others, will know that a high level of functional quality in these systems v.a.requires a frictionless cord guide. This was saved on the Spider 2, however: the laces are orthogonal to the running direction of the lacing through simply punched holes in the upper, which were not even provided with metal / plastic eyelets for friction reduction. The result is known from bad lacing systems: When pulling on the cord, only the area above the next hole pair tightens, the rest of the shoe remains loose. To top it all, this shoe has a Velcro closure right there to fix the shoe around the ankle. Ultimately fumbling and tugging so each time from front to back on the thin line to get the shoe halfway solid. On top of that, there is no place for the rest of the line, you have to stuff them under the Velcro with makeshift. Normal laces offer tremendous added value to this undrafted system as they can be bound both faster and more firmly / more targetedly. Incidentally, I was not able to determine a particular advantage in the Michelin sole, it is very handy on loose ground, but extremely slippery on wet stones. In addition, the profile is a bit unfavorable, if you lock the cleats very far forward. Here then no gap remains to "slip" forward into the binding can, you can only get in from above (I probably still lacking some practice). Conclusion: When buying make sure that the shoe also loosely already provides the desired seat, otherwise the lacing system costs a lot of time and nerves.

On the first outing on a mountain bike, the sneaker brushes me at low speed with some bushes; with which the outer layer of the left foot was detached. Ask if this was a factory defect, to which I was told that it had to have been something more than a friction. Of course how they came that day with me they could see (irony). I will definitely not buy this brand again or recommend it to anyone; since in my opinion, some shoes that in theory are for all terrains (or that puts on your page), can not be damaged so easily at low speed. Regards!! PD: The post-sale service of this page has answered very quickly, until then all the good things I can say about them.
