As with everything on my PC I buy, I check many reviews and tests for it before purchasing.I had my heart set on liquid metal TIM (thermal interface material) but after reading about the etching, staining and worry about long term impact on the CPU heatspreader and or heatsink I was not interested any longer.I wanted a thermal compound that lasted a long time without having the hassle and risk involved with taking your PC apart to reapply compound.I had run Noctua NT-H1 thermal compound for 10 years with my I5 2500K CPU which was overclocked quite high to 4.8GHz. Temperatures were always very low and I never once had to reapply the paste, this lasted longer than even specified by Noctua, but they do not lie or fudge numbers like some companies do. Noctua are brutally honest and that I love. Their customer service is also very good. With the modern CPUs of today with their tightly packed, high core counts, it's vital to remove that heat as quickly as possible. With a poor performing compound your CPU isn't going to be boosting as well and it's going to be running warmer, making for a shorter lifespan.Noctua NT-H2 appeared to offer the best performance whilst being safe for all components and having a long lifespan. I've read too many reports of the MX compounds having high peak temperatures even after trying many different application methods and that put me off it, even though it was very cheap.Talking about pricing, I do feel this is quite high price but you do get the wipes included too - although I'd rather they offered a version without the pads too... Perhaps a smaller pack would be good as well as the amount of compound in this would last many applications. The included wipes are very large and come with tons of alcohol soaked in them, plan to clean a lot at the same time as it's very overkill for one CPU and cooler! They are very good quality however. The temps in my system are lower than what most are getting online so I think this compound does help, let's hope it lasts as long as the NT-H1 and I'll be very happy!I ignored Noctua and used the X application method as looking online this gives the best spread on common CPU sizes.Highly recommended.

I bought this compound to replace the stock thermal paste in my Dell Precision 5530 laptop after having some trouble with the cooling reading recommendations that I do this. I had first tried to do so with some cheap paste I had kicking around, however this made little to no difference. With a healthy dose of skepticism, I decided to pay a little more for a premium thermal compound and figure out once and for all if there really is a difference. My testing wasn't particularly controlled, but I can say for sure, there is an appreciable difference. While idle temperatures didn't really change, I could tell from the off that the stability of my temperatures was drastically improved.Rather than seeing temperatures jumping around maybe +- 10C, I was instead seeing +-1C. I guess this indicates the effective thermal mass of the chip and it's cooler was drastically increased. This was more evident with temperatures under load where, as well as the improved stability, the actual measured temperatures were significantly lower, in the region of 10-15C lower. I can't be sure if this is a measure of how good this thermal compound is, or how bad the stock / generic stuff is, but I can say this is significantly better and seems to be a quality product.

I was upgrading my CPU and motherboard from a i5 7600k to a I5 9600k so needed thermal paste since when I had originally built my rig I used the pre-applied thermal paste on my NZXT AIO cooler. The product was easy to use, like other thermal paste pay close attention to the amount of pressure you apply cause the paste will come out with hardly any pressure, the three included IPA wipes will save you from buying them separately. My only small gripe wish they had included a spreader to help spread the thermal paste, I know attaching the cooler will do that but I'd like to have a bit more control when applying something that if your over zealous could damage your parts.I've had the rig rebuilt forover a week now and overclocked the CPU and settled at 5Ghz and when under load the highest I've hit was 70 degrees. I had got it to 5.2Ghz but wasn't 100% stable and the highest I was hitting was high 70's but that could be more to do with my old AIO cooler or the processor.

Noctua makes the best fans, it's crazy how scientific they get about it, I'm sure they have published scientific papers on airflow.Still I thought high end thermal compound was all similar so how could this be worth the money.Totally is, on my 1800X stock temperatures are down from 60C to 54C under full load and overclocked down from 83C to 73C. The temps are also very stable likes of which I've not seen before, pretty much u can tell each core is linked to the heatsink metal mass and doesn't radically jump down on its own.For accuracy's sake in my system I replaced the MX-4 and another random paste I had I replaced the paste a total of 3 times running tests each time in the days prior to applying the Noctua stuff so the MX-4 had 2 fully fresh applications and 1 old one. This is 10C's better than MX-4's best.

I’ve got an old PC (core 2 quad q8300) which I’m breathing new life into at the moment. I’d added a case fan (noctua as well) and an SSD. The only problem with this computer was the super high temperatures it was running at. I decided to get rid of the old thermal paste and replace it with this thermal paste by Noctua. The combination of the addition of a new case fan and this thermal compound dropped my average and max CPU temperatures by 20 degrees as measured whilst running geekbench 5. Scored 925 in multi core in geekbench which brings it not far off an i3 8100 which is around 8 or so years newer than it. Not bad to be honest, and I think the major difference was the replacement of the thermal compound.

I was trying to oc my new setup, i use 8600k with kraken x62 and have tuned and tested flow in case...i cannot get over 4.5 ghz (using just intel XTU) cause have around 85-87 celsius when testing by prime95I used thermaltake mx-4 compound (if i remember the name of product well ) which they refer to me with kraken when i buy that...Yesterday was really hot weather and i was scared about problems with cpu even on stock turbo so i order this NOCTUA and its amazing... works well, easy to use - love ipa pads to clean in package - and also a hint how much to put on what processor for noobs :)got 4.6 eazy in XTU on 72 degrees...thats around 12-15 degrees less then on mx-4SO 5 STAR it deserves that!

Bought this to try as my MSI GTX1080 Gaming X was running at 80 degrees+ whilst gaming with the fans on 100% after a mild overclock. I disassembled the card, the original thermal paste still looked pretty good and hadn't dried up at all. I went ahead and changed it for the H2 and put it back in my machine. I left the fans at 100% to keep the test fair and during gaming it only gets to 54 degrees. I was able to push the overclock from +55 to +160 on the core and even after applying as much voltage as possible the temps stay below 60 using a slightly modified standard fan curve. A pretty great performance upgrade for the price!

I love Noctua. The product is amazing, I've swapped to noctua thermal paste in all my PC builds and they give me superb thermals, Ive not tested many other thermal compounds mind but compared to the arctic silver i used a while back the NT-1 was a few degrees better and with the addition of the alcohol wipes the NT-2 already feels like its going to be a winner. What really sets Noctua apart for me is the customer service.Along with the delivery i got a email just informing me of the product warranty and how to get in touch with them directly should any problems pop up.They go that extra bit, which goes a long way with me.

I have used my Razer Blade 15 2018 advanced as the test bed. I have used Kryonaught (10 degrees more) Conductornaut Liquid Metal ( very hard to apply right, it alloys with the heat sink and dry up over time, few weeks)I have used NT-H1 before and was impressed. I purchased this and applied it to the Razer, and I am blown away. With -130mv undervolt I am seeing the same temps as the liquid metal application. Also I am seeing uniform temps across all CPU cores (1 or 2 degrees different) this is very hard to get right with other pastes.Get this you will not be disappointed.

I bought the Noctua NT-H2 to replace the tried and tested Arctic MX-4 i was currently using, after applying the Noctua paste it resulted in idle temps 4c lower. A couple of degrees at the very best i could have understood, but 4c seems an awful lot so i can only assume i hadn't applied the MX-4 correctly, although lets be honest it takes some doing to mess that up so maybe the NT-H2 really is as good as it seems. The idle temperatures of both pastes was measured only 30 minutes apart so it isn't like ambient temperatures were wildly different.

It's Noctua, it's good. Newer model of the most popular paste NT-H1, bought it to refresh my paste when upgrading from my old i5 to my new Ryzen 2700x.Applied with ease, nifty leaflet included advising best way of applying depending on the CPU you have with suggested sizes & patterns on the heatspreader. So far, working well, good temperatures and plenty left after 3 applications on various machines. The included IPA wipes make cleaning a breeze too when removing old paste.Don't hesitate, get it!

i used arctics mx-4 paste and decided to replace it with this one and noticed a 5 degree difference. its worth the extra if your trying to maximise your cooling.the paste came in a nice box with 3 wipes to get the old paste off and they are fantastic at removing the paste i used 2 wipes and that was overkill so no need to buy any other remover.overall i would recommend using this paste to everyone its a little bit more expensive but worth it in the long run.

My stock temps on my new Aorus 15G YC (RTX3080 edition) laptop were worryingly high - CPU idle around 55, GPU idle around 45 and during gaming the CPU reached 94 and the GPU 78.Tried some Thermal Grizzly Kryonaut, and the idle temps reduced by about 5 degrees - however, load temps were the same. Then tried the NT-H2.... blimey. CPU idle is now around 45c, at stress around 87c. GPU idle is 35c, at stress it's around 71c.Highly recommended!

The three supplied cleaning wipes are very useful, helped me remove the excessive amount of cooling paste on my cpu. The application was easy enough, though the paste is a bit globby which makes it a little trickier to put on. In terms of results, compared to the stock Ryzen paste prepallied to the cooler, this gives a noticeable improvement in terms of temperatures, very good overall and has everything you'd need to apply the paste.

This thermal paste solved my heat issue with no problem at all. Comes with cleaning wipes to remove any residue of old thermal paste, good applicator and goes on like a dream. My pc has been running none stop for several weeks since applying and has shown no further heat related issues. Very competitively priced compared to other well respected brands I've used in the past and is at least as good! A great buy and highly recommended
