This is my second Nite Ize LED dog collar, my other one lasted six years with no problems and the only reason for the replacement is the button has broken.I ordered the large for my yellow lab and it illuminates all the way around, except for the plastic fixings. I have read a lot of reviews and found some odd comments such as 'the large collar light is dimmer at one end' I don't notice this at all, full illumination all the way around in my opinion.Secondly people have commented on the strength of it as a dog collar, well I never use it as the main collar, I use my regular collar and attach the lead to that one. I then put the illuminated collar around that one and a looser so it sits proud of the dogs fur.From experience,

Now that the days are shorter and I realize I have to walk my dog some days after dark...I wanted something to let cars know we are on the road (we live in a country neighbourhood...no street lights). This collar lights up nicely...just a press of a button and the whole collar lights up..press it a second time and it flashes!! Press it a third time and it turns off. Easy! I ordered the large collar because my puppy is still growing....its a little loose but I just clip it around his neck for the light but still use his regular collar to attach his leash. You can adjust the length of the collar...which appeared to be a little complicated because you have to remove the light source and shorten

This collar is a great product. It works well on my Rhodesian Ridgeback who usually walks around sniffing with his head to the ground and so hiding the more traditional led light hanging from the collar. Battery life is not too bad although I would recommend having spares. Putting it on blinking mode seems to save battery life. Many other dog owners have been impressed with the collar and have asked where I purchased it. One tip thats not mentioned in the instructions is that when you get the collar out of the box it's all folded up with kinks that seem awkward and unable to straighten. If you put the gel insert into boiling water for a few seconds take it out and lay it flat, till it cools down,

This is a great collar. It works right out of the packaging. I have one of their leashes I have had for years, and have not even had to replace the battery.These are quality products made to last a life time! It's very thick for my little chihuahuas, but they both have long necks, so it works fine, just for our night walks.. It really makes them (and me) visible… extra safety.I wrote my phone number on the front and inside the collar with permanent marker, just incase it ever gets lost, so I hope it will be returned… it's a great product!I got small and it fits them perfectly… It slips easily over their heads,

I bought my two dogs these lighted collars for evening walks, now that daylight savings started. I walk them in the unlighted fields around our house, so I got them so I can see where my dogs are. I have a 10 month old puppy and he's still learning to "stick with the pack" so this is great for me to keep an eye on where he is. It also helps for those rare occasions we get close to the road. It has decent distance and visibility, but I still paired it with the clip on LED Nite Iz light- one red and one white, which glow like Rudolph's nose! The two together are unbeatable for safety and visibility for my dogs during the evening walks. When I pull out these collars, they know where they are going!

Having had a visiglo collar for my dog which was extremely bright but didn't stand up to the torential rain we have been having, I thought I'd give this one a try after reading the other reviews. Yes it does seem to be waterproof, but i have to agree with one of the other reviews - the battery life isn't great(approx 1 month using it for upto 2 hours a day). This probably wasn't helped by the collar arriving in the post already on! The glow from the collar is fairly visible but doesn't stand out, especially when the dog has his head down. This collar is alot better than the halo type or the lights that attach to a collar if you have an active dog that is in and out of the undergrowth.

Good visibility and fit. By following the instructions carefully you can adjust this collar to fit your dog perfectly. The included sheet tells you to remove the insert and cut to the proper length. Once you have the adjustments done the collar will be custom fit to your dog.The cutting/fitting step has the added benefit of allowing the entire collar to light up. Only a small section remains dark, where the buckle/battery is located. Unlike other collars where the light-up/glow section is roughly 1/2 of the length and the rest is just webbing.Out of the 6 different types of light up collars i have purchased, this is by far the one with the best visibility.

I became super freaked when my dog caught me off guard and ran away from me after seeing a cat, ending up in the neighbors yard after crossing the road in front of my house. After that, I realized it wasn't worth not having some kind of collar that glows to help oncoming cars see her.That said, I've only used this collar a couple of times. It must be turned on, and there is a constant orange or flashing pattern that you can set it to. Dogs with really long hair may not benefit though if their hair works its way over the collar.For me though, its great. Just not sure how long it will last.Please take a look at my book while you're shopping today.

this is a great light up collar don't buy any other collar i've bought a couple of light up collars but overall this is the best one and extremely well designed extremely strong and reflective and highly visible compare the visibility of that of a Christmas tree this collar can be used as a regular collar also it is excellent for night walks especial in rural arias that don't have lights or side walks for example if you live out in the country like i do its perfect to be seen by cars and for you to see you dog while on a walk or if you leave your pet of the leash its visible up to a 1000 feet which is true i personal tested to see

Have only had the collar for a month. So far I'd rate it for stars. My only complaint is that the on off button does not produce a solid click and does not have a dimple so you can fell the switch or button. You have to visually view the on off button to opporate it. Secondly once you adjust the collar to the dogs neck size, the collar does not maintain the disired size. A simple fix for the size problem is to put a stitch in the collar to stop the collar from slipping.Other than that the collar is everything the manufactor says it is. We have purchased other lighted collars, this is the best that we have found.

This colar is well designed and still works well after lots of wet walks. I try and keep the boy from swimming when wearing it, but it stands up well to West Coast Scotland Rain!My only problem with it is that like any colar on my dog, it gets buried in his fur, which limits visibility. I suppose I could shave him, but I haven't the heat. A 7 stone German Shepard cross, would look a bit weird with a shaved kneck and light nights will come before his fur grows back. I only tell you this so that you realise that this great product may not completely solve your problem of making a black dog visible at night.

Dawglite does just what is advertised to do, it makes it easy to find you dog in the dark. BUT it may have one more better effect. I had my dogs in a rural RV park after dark, three Cairn Terriers all lit up. I met someone who had been walking a dog in the very same area the night before. She and the dogs had been stalked by a coyote!! She managed to chase it away. I don't know if any were around when we were there but maybe the flashing collars served as a warning to the coyote. We did not see any on our trek.From now on, anytime we are in a coyote area, the Dawglites will be flashing.

The sizing is easy and many have said that its not possible. First step, remove the black box and clear light band from collar. Second, size the collar like a normal collar. Third line up the black box and light next to the sized collar and cut the plastic to size. This will not effect the lighting whatsoever. However once this has been done, when sizing gets bigger the light will not. I saw this as a non-issue.I love this collar for my chocolate lab, and bought the large, however I think the medium may have worked better. I ended up trimming off 4" of light tube.

It works pretty well, but it's too big for my small 11lb dog. We take lots of evening and night walks, and I wanted him to have a light on him, but this is too awkward. I ended up getting a little Nite Ize button light that hangs from his collar. This is now being used as a pant strap when biking! It actually works super well for that use and adds a much needed light source to the side of my bike (most lights are in front or behind the bike, offering no protection from side swipes.) So...fail as a small dog collar, but win as a pant cuff for biking!

This product is awesome! I have tried everything (flashing lights, reflective collars, other lighted collars) but this one is the most visible. It also fits well on a large dog. I walk my 110lb german shepherd early in the morning while it is still dark and this collar shows up nice and bright so that I can see where my dog is and also so that he is visible for safety on the road. My neighbour has one for her Springer Spaniel, so the smaller size is good too. They look cute walking together with their cool neon bright digs!
