Excellent Camera,I had to buy it locally for more because I needed it immediately to take with on a sailing vacation.The pictures are very good given the price. The camera is durable, and most importantly it works great underwater. I've owned multiple action cams and underwater photography cams, so I will list pros and cons given my experience with other cameras.Pros:1. Takes excellent underwater pictures provided you are in the sun. ( no in the shadow of a boat, or at night/late afternoon)2. The synchronization feature is awesome!. You take the pictures and without doing anything or thinking about it they appear on your phone ready to be shared on social media.3.The screen size is well balanced to the size of the camera.4. The controls are with buttons and NOT a touch screen. This is good, because touch doesn't work when wet.5. Independent movie and photo buttons means you can do one or the other with the touch of a single button.6. So easy a 5 year old can use it. Seriously, I got this for my kids, and they can both use it!.7. Flash works underwater too for underwater close-ups in lower lighting.8. Has optical zoom ( most underwater at this price range don't).9. It can geotack images using gps information from your phone (cameras with build in gps, eat the battery, had a couple of those...)10. Easy to buy extra or replacement aftermarket batteries and independent chargers for both 12v and mains on line.11. Charges battery directly on the camera with a regular phone usb charger. So no need to carry on trips anything other than your regular phone charger and cable to charge the camera.12. My kids loved the included backpack.Cons:-1 Buoyancy: in freshwater it's slightly negatively boyant, so you need to attach something on it to float ( so if you "drop" it goes up instead of down... ) Easily solved with a hole on about 1/3 wine bottle cork passed through the strap.-2 It's a little slow, both in taking the pic and until it's ready for the next one, unless it's set to burst mode.-3 The control is relatively intuitive, but featureless even though the automatic settings seem to be working well, it would be good to have a bit more control, such as aperture priority for those waterfall, or wave breaking pics.-4 No SD card included. Make sure you have one or buy one. Get a fast waterproof one so you can support 1080p video and also so your memories are salvaged in the event of failure of the seal. Amazon sells them and they are not expensive.-5 Screen hard to view in direct sunlight.

With two children aged 7 and five, I was looking for a point & shoot camera that was robust enough for them to use unsupervised. The problem with most normal P&S cameras is that that they have fiddly parts like lens covers that small, inquisitive fingers can easily damage, or else they're prone to damage from being dropped or coming into contact with water.I looked at a number of cameras designed specifically for children, but the reviews for these were generally pretty damning. It seemed that the manufacturers of such cameras had forgotten that in addition to being robust they should also take decent photos.Then I came across the COOLPIX 100 Camera, and I thought I might have found what I was looking for.Turned out that I was right.Essentially the W100 is a standard COOLPIX P&S Camera wrapped in a very robust shell. This makes it bulkier and heavier than a typical COOLPIX camera, but no less competent when it comes to taking decent quality photos and short videos. It still has a combined optical and digital zoom and all the usual functionalities you would expect of a mid-range P&S Camera. If you want to add effects to your shots you can. There is Bluetooth functionality so that you can download shots to your phone or tablet. There is nothing you can do with a standard P&S camera that you can't do with the W100.The difference is that you can drop the W100 into a muddy puddle and after a quick wipe it will still work. With the lens mechanism enclosed by a sealed glass cap and the battery, I/O ports and SD Card slot protected by a sealed cover you don't have to worry about water damage or picking mud out of delicate moving parts. I wouldn't immerse the camera underwater for too long (although quick shots are okay) or repeatedly drop it onto a hard surface, but it will withstand short dips or a bit of rough treatment better than most cameras of this type.Which makes it great for children to use whilst still being of practical use for adults. You can even see that Nikon have realised this, as they've included a setting that specificallty makes the UI more child friendly.So, if you're looking for a P&S camera that is versatile and can be used by all the family I would strongly recommend the COOLPIX W100. Its not the smallest camera out there or the most well equipped, but it can take a beating and is simple enough for a five-year old to use.

My 5 year old son uses this camera and takes pretty good pictures and videos with it. He can zoom in and out easily and watch a slideshow of his pictures.It's been dropped many times, charged many times over the last couple of years and we've never had a problem with it. I use it when I go snorkelling and although it can be tricky to focus I've taken some decent shots of fish and plant life.I think it's a brilliant camera and I'll probably buy one for my daughter when she's old enough.

Camera is fine but, and a big BUT, the instructions were not in English and therefore useless in an English speaking market. It shouldn't be necessary to have to download English instructions. If you want to print for reference when you first go out with the camera the printout takes too much paper and bulk. Highly impractical and disappointing for intelligent granddaughter who wanted to work it out for herself. Shoddy service from the importer.

Amazing product. Brought for a family holiday and paid for next day delivery at one of the drop off locations. This was great as I could go and pick it up any time I was able to. The yellow colour is fantastic and the camera itself works perfectly. Its very easy to use, and the quality was better than I expected. Would defiantly recommend this product for any families or anyone wanting a simple and high quality camera.

I bought this for my 6 year old niece who has caught the photography bug. Very easy to use and can handle being knocked about. A few options to experiment which is why I opted for this over the toyish cameras... My niece loves it.

Item bought for my son's Xmas he is always making videos for YouTube. He will love this camera what I like most is it's tough so I don't have to worry he might drop it. Item arrived quickly.

Excellent camera, easy to use and attractive for a child. "Snapbridge" is difficult to set up and slow to work, but cable link offers practical alternative for the download of photographs.
