Item works great though the software seems to be in constant beta, with a lot of issues depending on your setup. I was not having the best gaming experience until I rolled back the software now my connection is really clean and I can play any game with minimal ping and jitter which is excellent and gives that "youtuber" type of clean connection I always wanted of course you can't avoid hiccups on the game server side but the router has made my gaming experience hundreds of times better compared to the isp (BT) hub that was provided

I needed a device to manage the wireless devices in my household. I regulary game on a PS4 Pro, my fiance watches television downstairs watching netflix which causes ping spikes. This leads to in game lag/buffering, This device has reduced the ping from 35ms down to 9ms aswell as increased my device speed to 20 mbps up from 17 which isn't the best but it has lead to a smoother gaming experience. range strength more stable, built in server filter for games so you can use local servers.

Connects easily to your existing router through an Ethernet cable, and which seems to improve and stabilise internet connection throughout the house. It has a free app and website which allow you to customise your router settings, and give your console extra internet coverage when required, and allows you to limit the radius of online gaming sessions to your location. Potentially a bit expensive, with specially designed gaming software for your router, an important feature for an avid gamer.

Got this because constant issues with virgin superhub saying my devices were "connected but with no internet" everything on WiFi dropped out. Placed this router on and popped the hub into modem mode and all my WiFi issues are gone. Speeds are what I'd expect them to be and connections are brilliant and reliable. The OS I don't personally like. It's too childish trying to be cool. The tp link os is my personal favourite. But this fixed my issues and performs well. Really glad I got this

Every router from every ISP is dreadful; and my new ISP's router is no exception (Super Hub 3). I put the Hub into modem mode and connected up my new XR500. In short, it's absolutely fantastic.Within an hour I had configured everything to taste, including custom DNS name-servers to forward to my network ad blocker, complete DHCP mapping, port forwarding and dynamic host-name configuration.The styling is tacky "gamer" fayre, but I cannot argue with it's incredible functionality.

Easy to set up QoS and Mimo is already on as standard so the router can identify which traffic needs fast ping and which needs streaming download speeds. Made a big difference. Definitely separate the two WiFi bands as I think this can confuse older tech and cause drop outs. Since separated the signal has been flawless and gaming lag has near disappeared.Tad expensive but if you want this performance you have to pay for it. Got mine for 180 refurbished and am very happy with it.

Router is primarily for the gaming market but I purchased to replace the standard ‘free’ router from my isp as it was very poor in terms of performance (dropping WiFi connections) and also the WiFi range was poor. The Netgear XR500 is literally plug and play but if can easily be configured manually to suit your needs. The router software is excellent. It allows you to set specific band widths per device, if needed. It also has fantastic WiFi range.

I am not a gamer but opted for this gaming router I had a virginmedia super hub 3, but the wifi signal was weak around the house with devices timing out or loosing connection (2 smart phones, 4 ipads, 1 macbook)This router has strengthened the wifi signal around the house, it also has a more user friendly interface which gives charts,graphs,etc to show you what is going on It is expensive, but i am happy with the purchase

I had a problem with my hub supplied by isp.Numerous dropping out and online gaming was very laggy. Bit the bullet and bought this router paired with an older openreach modem. Such an improvement, everything works much better, every so often I do have slight lag with online games but nothing like it was, that could be down to isp and overload of clients being used during lock down.

I bought this to use as a router while I put my virgin box into modem mode and have not had 1 single drop off in over 3 weeks. The range is ok but not amazing. The router works brilliantly but you do need to portion out the bandwidth percentage to get the best results.Really happy with the purchase. The only problem with this router is the size....it is large!

I was having issues with my Broadband providers kit (Mary has it in their name). So purchasee this to combat the unstability of wifi and also to add security. The wifi reaches a long way and the interface is fantastic. I am getting the full use of my broadbands bandwidth. It even has its own tester. Great for households or businesses with a lot of devices.

After reading plenty of reviews trying to find a router to manage web traffic in a modern home whilst I play online games, this was the model I selected.It isn't cheap, however, it provides a level of stability that means my daughter streaming video content doesn't lead to instant death due to the ping rate goes through the roof.Worth the investment.

I've never paid so much for a router but this really increased the speed I was getting on my PS4. Some very cool functions if you can bothered to check all the tools avalible to use. No regrets I found it a really good router and worked flawless out of the box. If you really get to understand its a capabilities you will get even more improved speeds.

I have virgin media hub running in modem mode and this beast sending the signal all around the house. Price looks high, but well worth it as there is now no lag, no drop out etc. Considering in our house we all have devices connected all the time it performs remarkably. If you like online gaming. This is a must.

The price is right and reflects the capabilities of this router, Control your devices bandwidth and blocks devices that you dont want to connect. Customer service was excellent as i reserved my item and collected it without any issues.
