The product itself is really good quality and I would actually consider it under-priced! The LED display is good and offers simple feedback for the user. Battery life, I assume is ok, it's still on the first set. It's a good weight and but for size you should consider the child you are buying it for. Look at the photos of the model they are using here, for example. It could easily be a bit big.In use, it needs a bigger house or to be outdoors. Pop the batteries in, have a play around with it in order to learn how it works (or watch a video online, like we did) then you're away to go. Basically, you have to shoot at the sensor (within 50cm'ish) on the front of your opponents gun.We got the Alphapoint pistol version too and found that because they are smaller and can be moved around faster, it's harder to hit them. It's still good fun though! There's options to play team vs team or free for all, given we only have 3, we could only try free for all.The app is excellent and offers a decent solo game of shooting a virtual target on the phone screen (phone attaches to the front of the gun). I can't help feel they are trying to tread on the toes of Sony/Microsoft/VR here - they are far superior but this is free. For multiplayer, the phone attaches to your arm and it aids the game well. Definitely not an essential for using the guns though. Is it for everyone? No. If you like the part of traditional Nerf where your opponent winces a little on being hit by foam bullet, this won't be for you obviously. I'm in that band but not having to scout around afterwards collecting ammo is a bonus.Great fun that can come with exercise as a bonus!

To get the most out of this Nerf Laser Ops Pro Deltaburst you will need to either purchase two or purchase or already own another model from the laser range as they cannot be played with against the standard Nerf guns and so you do need another from the laser range to play as teams or against an opponent. There is an app to download and a holder that your phone can be placed into on the gun and so this is likely intended at older players who will have their own phones rather than borrowing Mum or Dad's expensive smart phone. The gun itself it comfortable to hold and reasonably light but again if intending on a younger player using this you might wish to check suitability before you purchase andI would think a minimum age of 9+ would be more suitable for use. This will likely be the new way to play with Nerf guns but I think for the moment we prefer the older manual style ones where you fire physical bullets at each other and my Son certainly seems to think those are a lot funnier when they hit Mum or Dad.

My husband was super impressed with this.My daughter has a smaller version and along with this we have had some epic battles.Sometimes he uses his phone and the app other times he doesn’t. I like the laser aspect of this because it means my husband plays with her and she doesn’t get hurt, whereas he doesn’t mind the nerf bullets being shot at him, seeing that he is tougher than she is.It seems to be well made, we have had it for a couple of months now and it is still intact with no sign of it breaking or being damaged. In all honestly I imagine the smart phones needed for these are more likely to be damaged. He is currently talking to his mates about buying a couple of these for themselves sothat he can get full use out of using the app as well as have an excuse to be a big kid :)This has been great fun in our household and I think would be for a lot of adults who are big kids at heart.

At home we have a wall full of Nerf guns. Big bullet, little bullet and the hard yellow balls. Just with two boys, this means cleaning up ammo from everywhere. With this kit, you have a gun which fires an invisible light beam. There is an ammo counter on the back, like Halo or Aliens 2, and a health meter. You shoot at each other, we have two of these, until the life bar is zero. Run out of ammo, there is a reload button. For more players you simply set which colour team you are on and off you go.This, with use of a smart phone, is the only Nerf gun that you can battle alone. Sync the phone to the gun and you have a selection of single player games.

Be aware: This is a single gun, so if you're wanting to play battles you'll need to know someone who has either the same one or another from this series. Assuming you knew that, then this is a good piece of kit - there is some scope for solo play via the app, but you'll get the best fun playing outside in a gang where everyone has compatible kit. Note, it's a little bigger and heavier than expected - but not enough to trouble my eight year old son. Also, parents beware - the thing is quite noisy. But this is the kind of toy I'd have dreamed of when I was little, so I grin and bear the noise.

Got these for my niece and nephew (twins). Have been such good fun during the holidays. They’re pretty good in their bog-standard mode, but once you strap on a couple of smartphones and use the app it becomes a little more competitive – that may have actually been better for me than the kids, who knows?! – with the stats being recorded you know clearly who’s the winner and loser. (That being said though, I’m convinced one gun has advantage over the other, so make sure you swap the guns around now and again for a fairer gunfight).

Futuristic design, a lot of fun. It feels heavy and sturdy. The only downside is the sound. Not having a volume button, which probably would have risen the price a lot, the sound is very loud. So, no playing after 22:00 :). The mobile phone mount is perfect for single player mode. The mobile app is great and by gaining points, you unlock nice features for two or multiple players mode. Mobile app runs without issues (huawei mate 20 lite). Overall, great!

We bought 2 of these guns one this one, and one the smaller one. They are really fun and I wish I had these when I was young.Son uses them to play with his friends next door and also play the shooting using th etc VR app.Build quality is also pretty good, solid plastic feels very sturdy and high quality.Only down side is the sound from the gun is pretty loud but not big enough to remove a star.

and a Laser Ops enabled smartphone this is effectively a very informative, ridiculously good fun laser quest at home. Our kids are running around like lunatics!Don't buy as a single item you need at least two of these or the other bundle from nerf which is 2 guns in one. A great game and when paired with an iphone (other brands liberally available), they will be happy for hours.

This is a Nerf without a Nerf.A shame really. This is fun but it uses lasers rather than the usual darts. I guess it's more safe or futuristic, but it's not a Nerf blaster. Our nephew tried it out, but preferred the armoury of standard Nerf dart guns we've amassed. It's a nice idea, and maybe good if you have priceless antiques everywhere, but it's not one for everyone.

This is one of the must-have toys for 2018 according to the media. This is just one gun and you'd need another to play with others successfully. There is a requirement to use a smartphone and the app so that you can play as it is. Well made and good fun. No batteries included so you'll need to get some. Good fun once you get others being able to join in.

25.11.2018

This is the ideal present for Nerf fans that have a smartphone! Easy to set up after getting out of the box, sadly batteries not included. Download the app from the App Store (free) and away you go. Downside is that this is very noisy, even if you turn off the sound on the app the sound of the gun “firing” is still pretty loud.

24.12.2019

I think our kids prefer the Nerf guns with the bullets. They like the physical nature of it. You know when you've been shot. You know when you've shot someone else. The laser gun at least can be used if you have just one gun in single player with the app. But the app needs a mobile phone and most kids will not have.4/5.

6.1.2019

My boys have really enjoyed this new type of Nerf gun. The sounds and lights make the gun really exciting to play with. the batteries have lasted well so far - but you do need quite a few to get started. The laser targeting works fine, and the kids are keen to get more in this series.

27.12.2018

Obviously, you need more than one to fully enjoy this toy. Great fun and gets the kids running around. Works surprisingly well. We use it without the phone app as our games tend to be quite frantic and I'm not sure the phone would survive.
