this drill is the best one at the price you can buy i have had loads of drills and its up there with them all it arrived part charged so i decided to fla tten it before charging ,a lot of people dont understand that ni-cad batteries must be fully discharged before re-charging this is the main reason they begin to lose capacity ,back to the review it lasted nearly until i had finished before recharge but alike a lot of reviews the green light came on as well as the red so i let it charge for 3 hours and it seems fully charged might buy another so i,ll have 2 batteries pity they dont sell spare batteries but i expect they would cost the same, buy one you wont regret it plus if you want to plugbrickwork or concrete you WILL need a 24v cordless this is an out and out driver or wood tool.

I tend to go through cordless drills like no mans business, i have bought expensive to the outright king of cordless drill/drivers. I i find that after a few months to a year the battery starts to fail. Remember rechargable batteries tend to take a thousand charges or so before they fail, i think this is to make you buy new after three to four years. This drill looks and feels cheap but it works just as well as the more expensive makes the only difference is how long you can work between charges. I use my cordless most of the day and this lasts apox five hours constant use both drilling and driving. So i would recommend this cordless drill.Did you know that in Philippines...Based on the number of a car's license plate, cars are restricted from use on certain days of the week.

Like other reviewers, this drill was bought mainly for use as a caravan stabiliser electric tool. As such it does the job very well, but does not provide a great deal of oomph otherwise. It has a moulded plastic body, variable torque settings and reversible drive, but no hammer drill action. On a full charge the power is adequate but no match for a regular mains powered drill. The 18v battery does have an impressive life, and when I purposely drained the battery to cycle the charge a few times, it lasted a good few hours. For its price it is highly recommended, but not in the same league as one of the quality makes.

Bought this to replace my old drill/screwdriver which I used only for repair work on my Touring Caravan and winding up the corner steady's which can drain most drills by the time you get to the last leg of four...Well It arrived promptly on the Free Delivery and to my amazement beat all others that do this job for half the price... it is No Lightweight... a nice rubbery feel to it (non slip finish) and has oodles of power... even if you drain it after a rest for 10 minutes it back again and you can finish off what you were doing... Top Marks For Me!

My first drill. it makes holes as I had hoped. easy to use. I dont have anything to compare it to unfortunately. It handled making a 19mm hole through a 20mm thick piece of softwood and didnt give up on me.You can increase and decrease the speed rotation speed with differing pressure on the trigger.the battery lasted for 6 holes as mentioned above, and then continued to work well with light use for another 2 hours before feeling the battery wearing down.I will update this review if I have any problems with it in the future.

I'm a handyman & I bought this cordless monster about a month ago. In that short time I've given it serious abuse!Honestly, this is a great tool for the money. The 18v battery gives it serious power - ideal for driving long screws into wood, even without drilling pilot holes. Okay, the variable speed control packed up on it within three days (now, it's fast... or nothing) but what can you expect for under £20? It's paid for itself at least five times over. I'd buy another one tomorrow.

bought a bosch cordless drill with 2 batteries 2 yrs ago (£70 ). What a pile of guano !!! Each battery lasted 30 mins of use, but took 2 hours to recharge..what rubbish ! This neilsen battery outlasts both bosch ones by far. Someone on this site asked if he could buy a spare neilsen battery. NO was the reply. Well, why not buy a 2nd drill complete with battery, I did ....seems the logical thing to do, considering any brand of drill battery is at least £35 !! Happy drilling

Bad points first; its a bit heavy, a bit bulky and it takes a relatively long time to charge. However, the charge does last a long time and it does do what its meant to do rather well. It was also very cheap and as such presented very good value for money. Haven't had it long so can't comment on its longterm reliability but consider it currently worth a 4 star rating.

Where else can you buy an 18v drill for £20. I bought this mainly for my caravan, bring the feet up and down which it does with no effort at all. I recently fitted 2 shelves drilling 8 holes with a 6mm masonry bit into brick. It took slightly longer than with an impact drill, but it did the job. Good value for a handyman tool. I would certainly recommend this drill.

On the whole I am pleased with this drill. But ....... a couple of things :- The charger red light NEVER goes out (Handbook says it should only be 1.5 hours before green light comes on . It had been on 13 hours!). Also there is no sign of any fuse in it (handbook says there is)Other than that I am very pleased withit and the prompt delivery time before Christmas.

Had a Bosch before this one which cost over £100 and was totally useless. This one I cannot argue £21 delivered Amazing and still going very strong even thou it has endured lots of construction work already. One concern charging plug gets hot and lights never go out but hey it hasn't blown up or caught fire ha ha definitely will buy another one

The drill came 1 day late but the funny thing is it came from the town where i once lived and went to hill and cake more school.I lived in malt mill lane back in 60s and early 70s.I haven't had the chance to test the drill yet because i flew out of the country 10pm but i am sure it's ok, I know where long lane is. Shell corner. Thanks

Used for a few weeks now. It has enough torque to drill1cm holes in brick work. Went for several work sessions between recharging. This is the first drill I have had with a keyless chuck. I'm impressed with the quick change between drill bit and screwdriver bits..Drives screwes into wood without much difficulty.

I use my drill mainly for raising and lowering the steadies on my caravan but also occasionally for household work.It is by far the best amateur drill I have ever had - I have had, and discarded, 5 drills before I bought the Neilsen.I can recommend this drill to anyone.

14.10.2016

OK I got this to replace my last cordless drill which had stopped working. So what did I get for my money, a drill that is light in the hand, with the power to do most household jobs. I do not think this drill will be any good for work outside of the home.
